i5800 G-sensor calibration. Please help! - Galaxy 3 General

Hello! I'm writing about a problem I have with my i5800. I'm on Froyo 2.2 XWJPM. On the phone of course there isn't a calibration tool. I cannot for the life of me calibrate the g-sensor of the phone, which is a little off in the pitch parameter. I have tried almost everything:
1) Play and change settings in the akmd_set.txt file in data/misc. Also tried deleting the file. The g-sensor just ignores the settings in the file
2) /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha wont run. Not even after deleting /data/system/ms3c_yamaha.cfg. Also tried editing the file. Nothing. (I am root of course)
3) Tried with other firmware (e.g. XXJPM) again nothing.
Note: Calibration seems to work fine in utilities like GPS Status. However I need a way to calibrate the phone globally, and not just one app.
Thank you!

HTC Magic: G-Sensor problem [Solved]

Hi all,
First sorry for my English.
Since I upgrade my phone to new radio, and use Sense UI, G-Sensor don't work more. I have flashed some ROMs: Offcial ROM with Sense UI for Magic (Singapore, Euro), custom ROMs such as: 3pei_hero_2.1, CursorSense32A-1.2.6.1, and the current ROM is Smoki 0.6.1. But they get the same problem: G-Sensor do not work.
I have tried clear rotato setting using recovery, and then calibrate G-Sensor, but the result is "Calibration aborted".
It have worked when I use old radio, with a HiAPK ROM. So, I think may be new radio make G-Sensor disable. The current my radio is 6.35.08.29.
Does anyone have a solution for my problem?
Thank you very much.
try to wipe g-sensor data in recovery. it helped me once....
Thank you for your fast anwser.
I have tried to wipe "rotato setting" in recovery (I use recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2), then calibrate G-Sensor (in Settings -> Sound & Display), but it don't solve my problem.
If my way can't wipe G-sensor data, can you show me how to wipe G-sensor data?
hm - then it's bad, wipe rotate settings is exactly what i meant
did you already try to (re) wipe everything else, reflash the rom etc.?
I have tried this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6519036&postcount=48, but it isn't effect for my problem.
As I say, I have flashed 3 custom ROMs, before flashing a ROM I have wiped: data/factory reset, Dalvik-cache, and rotate settings too.
Once, I have tried to reset all by turning phone off, then press Home + Back + Power, and reset phone, but it is not effect too.
You could try what i said in step #1

Try to dig up your old akmd files (if you have a nandroid backup). If that fails you can try with mine attached to the post.
Hi, I think you method can help me, but with other akmd file.
My phone have no any akmd file. When I move phone, rotate phone, the Bubble don't move.

When I copy your akmd files to /data/misc, it change a little, but calibrate still aborted.
I see someone talk about rild* files, Do I need these files?
[Problem have solved]
Wow, I have found a solution for my problem.
I have tried to replace akmd with an older version, and it really work for me.
Many thanks to padde0711 and all people have tried to help me. I play Teeter now

[Q] Problem with Market/Wildfire

Hiya - I have the Desire and just got Wildfire for daughter - she is delighted-me less so as we have switched from PAYG to contract and I do NOT want her to go over her minutes, so have tried in vain to get the Mobile Account Checker from the Android Market. It shows up on my phone on the market, but not on hers! I tried scanning the barcode thing with her phone - not available. Tried with mine and bingo it is there. Any clues? I have it installed on my phone, but really need it for her!

Did you try to install via the website with Fastinstall installed and activated?
Just syncing with appbrain doesn't work.
1. download and install appbrain from market
2. download, install, and open fast web install from market
3. follow on screen instructions to let fast web install integrate into appbrain
4. visit www.appbrain.com search for your application and hit the "install" button on the appbrain website

}
5. the application should then be magically pushed to your htc wildfire,
if not: check that wifi or 3g is enabled. if it still doesn't work, try "manage my apps" -> "sync with appbrain" in the appbrain application and wait a few seconds
Sync doesn't work since it opens the market page or tries to.
i guess you're mixing it with "perform installs"
i noticed that sometimes i click install on the website, but nothing happens. even when wifi is enabled ... so i did the steps @ #5 and it worked then ... just a personal workaround. nothing official
i found a topic at g4 tattoo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645286
like simulate screen resolution higher.
but it need root first.
i m not sure how to do root on g8.
maybe anyone who already root can try it out.

Android lockscreen change

I have the MDJ's Revolution v1.5 Android build for my HD2!
Can i change this lockscreen:

to this lockscreen?
When i was playing around alittle i noticed that if you delete the HtcLockScreen.apk from /system/app, it will rollback to the default one. Atleast it did that for me.

On what build did you try that?
Edit: I can't find the system/apps...Maybe because my phone it's not an Android based? I have hd2 and i boot Android from sd card...
Is there any .apk to install it for me?
edithhh! I get it...i must have a rooted Android version and with the use of root explorer i can do it! I will give it a try!
I used "Linda-manager" to go into "my phone", there you'll get a warning if you're sure to go into that folder. There you'll find the system/apps folder. Rename or delete the lockscreen.apk.
It works fine, but the Windows-button of the HD2 overrules the lockscreen so you'll always be able to enter the phone with that button.
I'm still finding a way to solve that "problem".

[APP] MIUI Compatible System Font Changer

Hi everyone,
I have seen a few people in search of a way to change the system font in MIUI to a preferred font of their choice. While browsing the Android Apps & Games section, I came across a thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874658) created by user martino2k6, who is also the developer of an app called 'Font Changer Lite' (paid version also available).
This app basically does what it says on the tin. After installing, it allows you to select from a range of compatible font formats which you place in the .fontchanger directory located in the root of your SD card. The only drawback is that it requires you to have the NAND unlocked (S-OFF), as it requires r/w access to the /system/fonts partition (full root) while the phone is powered on, just like MetaMorph does.
I think its a great app, and one that is definately worth purchasing.
Note: This app will also work with non-MIUI ROMs.

You dont really need an app for this. just follow these simple instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9782857&postcount=3805
If you're s-offed and have root explorer then you can use the above method. If youre s-on and/or don't have root explorer then you can push the files by adb instead

[Q] What's installed & how do I update it?

Hello
My girlfriend borrowed her dads HD2, and now it stopped working. She talked to him and most likely it requires an update of Android.
I'm usually pretty tech-savvy, but the language spoken on this forum is beyond my comprehension.
So, I have a HD2 with both win & Android installed. To boot into Android i need to go into windows and press two files on the SD-card: "CLRCAD" & "HARET".
The files look like this in Windows (pc):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Her dad mentioned Boxmax 6.5, so I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100560
The files I downloaded from there looks pretty similar, aside from a few additions on the phone.
Downloaded the SD-one, but now i'm lost.
How do I update the phone? Just overwrite the files with the new ones or clean install? If it's a clean install, how do i do it? Do i need to backup something?
Backup all files on the SD card to a safe place (pc).
Delete folder Android on the card.
Copy the Android folder from the archive you downloaded.
Pop the SD card back into HD2, and start Android from winMo (clrcad, haret) or better yet install the exceller autoboot.
Thanks alot, sounds easy enough
When i pop the things back on the SD-card from the backup-folder, I still need to install all the apps and widgets again right?
Edit: Oh, and what about all her messages? Are they stored on the phone?

Nevermind, found Quickboot
