im having a couple of problems. when my phone turns on it goes straight to MAGLDR and says SD KERNEL OPEN FAILED.i have read numerous threads and still dont understand what i should do about this. the next problem is when i try to unzip a rom it says the "installation aborted" i would very greatful if u could help me get out of the MAGLDR menu and back to having a working phone. i have tried to flash back to a stock rom but i cant get my phone to connect to active sync. i have been struggling all day and cant figure out where i went wrong and i need your help please. I cant get out of MAGLDR at all and all i want is to flash back to a stock rom or any rom for that matter so i can use my phone again. Im sorry for creating a new thread because i know alot of people are having similar problems but i couldnt find an answer.
thanks adam

You need to flash ClockworkMod Recovery with the appropriate size system partition for the nand rom you intend to install. Flash the recovery from your pc with MAGLDR in usb flasher mode. Then in MAGLDR choose AD Recovery, and in recovery, choose 'install zip from sd', then pick 'choose zip from sd card' and choose the zip that is the rom you wish to install. Dont unzip it, Clockwork Recovery installs from .zip files.

im not sure what u meen by partition size how do i select that and do u know of a way i could connect to active sync so i can just flash stock rom. in MAGLDR i havnt found a way to connect to active sync. any suggestions on how to go back to stock? thanks for helping.

Power your phone on while holding the vol down button. Your screen will have 4 colored bars. You can flash a stock rom from there. Your phone won't connect to ActiveSync or Windows Device Center while in this mode, but the stock windows rom will flash.

i finally got it to work i had to flash the stock radio to get it to flash the stock rom for some reason thanks for helping me

No problem, glad your phone isn't wrecked. If you still want to use Android, but don't want to mess with flashing it to your phone's internal memory, you can always use sd builds. Then you still have WinMo, and you can even have multiple different Android builds on your sd card, in different folders, there are programs for Windows Mobile that will even launch Android for you and let you choose which build to launch. It's alot simpler than flashing nand roms, just drag n drop a folder onto your sd card and bot into WM, use File Explorer to navigate into the folder, tap CLRCAD and haret.exe , and Android launches.

[Q] Is my phone bricked?

First thing is first :
Radio 2.12.50.02.2
aMAGLDR 1.11
CWM Recovery 3.0.0.5
SPL 2.0.8
I was flashing from a custom nand to Hyper Droid CM7 v1.0.3. Now that I boot my phone it goes through magldr like normal but loaded zimage, says: load done ...123456 GOGOGO
Then it boots up into CWM recovery.. I tried to install the zip from here and it formats the boot and the system like normal... then copy's all the files to system. The install completes like normal. Then I reboot and it goes right back into CWM recovery. I have tried to flash other roms.. but now my phone wont active sync with my computer. I can only mount it. Any help would be amazing at this point. I have been troubleshooting this brick for the past 5 hours..
Thanks in advance for any help
I'm assuming i will have to start from scratch with wm 6.1... if so how would i flash the os to the phone is my phone doesnt sync with wmdc?

Yes, u should flash magldr 1.13, not magldr 1.11 because it will give stuck at GoGoGo. U need to enter bootloader to flash magldr 1.13.
Edit:sorry my bad. 1.11 wont give u stuck at gogogo, but flash 1.13 this time.
Do you actually know what you're doing? Your phone is most certainly not bricked. WMDC is useless once you don't have WinMo on your phone. I think the problem is your radio. Download and flash the 2.15.50.14 radio. It's the newest one. Then flash away and it should work. If not, task 29, reflash MAGLDR and then flash your ROM from clockwork.

Ok i got the new mglrd and radio.. now when you tell me to flash the rom from cwm.. you mean from zip right?
ok so I installed from zip and the phone booted up into CWM yet again. Telling me that it failed to find cache/recovery/command, cache/recovery/log.
Failed to find cache partition to mount to cache.
I did update the radio and mglrd like you said.
I had the same problem I task 29'd it then flashed the build via splash mode

Just do the following
Below was taken from Tyween "TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC2+ v2.8.0"
1. Task 29
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 135M System/44M Cache/Recovery v3.0.1.9
5. Install TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 .zip with CWM
What i would do is download a stock rom, it will probably come as a single .exe file. rename the extension from .exe to .7z (if you have 7zip, im sure u can name it to what ever archieve program u have) then extract it. find the signed.nbh file and extract that. Then rename LEOIMG.nbh and put on root of sd card. power off phone and while booting hold the volume down button and the power button till you get the bootloader screen... follow prompts and then you are back to a stock hd2
I got it running now thanks for all the help guys. I just flashed a stock rom and changed the radio.

try this:
1) ensure you have magldr 1.13 loaded
2) boot into CWM
3) Do a wipe
4) re-download the ROM zip file (you could have gotten it corrupted somehow on the download)
5) put it on your SD card, load up CWM, flash choose.zip and find your ROM
6) after the flash do another wipe on CWM
7) restart your phone and from magldr load android from nand
edit: lol nvm, apparently I didn't see there was a page 2. Good job on gettin it running

you're really telling him to go back to full stock, with stock spl, that's not necessary, if he has hardspl already, he doesn't have to go thru that again, task 29 will remove all traces causing issues, so all he needs is task 29, radio 2.15.50.14, MGLDR, CWM with the proper partition, and flash desired rom from clockwork.

Unable to use flash using CLK and Clockworkmod

Hi All
I don't know what I am doing wrong so I hope someone can help me.
I have tried using Clockworkmod and CLK but i am not able to flash my rom with any of them. I sometimes get a HTC screen but then nothing else. Sometimes my HD2 just reboots after a few seconds.
I have followed the guides word for word and tried CLK but still nothing.
I can update my rom using DAF, but all new roms come out in zip format only.
I have updated my radio to "Radio Leo 2.15.50.14"
I am doing something wrong? Can it be my SD card?
I hope someone can help.
Thank you in advance
Wrong forum.
I'm having the exact same issue - I was just about to open a new thread here but saw this thread and a post stating wrong forum - Please advise where can I post it?

What ROM are you using?
What is System partition Size for that Rom you're using?
Have you used right partition size while flashing MagLdr or Clk?
And have you used Ksubedi's Toolkit?
Because the symptom you're describing is only experienced when you use a partition size smaller than what is recommended.
For example if the Rom requires a partition of ATLEAST 200M and you flash a partition of 150M. You will get stuck at the Logo Screen. AKA HTC Screen. Or as you proclaimed, it won't even boot. So please provide more information as to which Rom and partition size you used and I will try my best to help you.
And don't pay any attention to A jerk telling you "Wrong Forum"
We will help no matter where you post it.
And Spuri give your Rom and install method, I will try my best to help you as well.

Thank you so much - here it goes..
I've been flashing Android roms for a while but for the last couple of weeks I'm having issues with installing any CWR/CLK rom - After flashing the rom, the screen is stuck at GO GO GO and then it goes in a boot loop. I have searched and I have followed all the steps down to the T. Anyway, following are the steps I have taken so far:
Format SD Card using SD Formatter
HSPL3 (2.08)
Task 29 (Using HD2 NAND Toolkit)
Install Radio (2.15) (Using HD2 NAND Toolkit)
Install MAGLDR (Using HD2 NAND Toolkit)
System Partition (As Recommended by the Chef) (Using HD2 NAND Toolkit)
wipe cache partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Partition Card with 1GB (As Recommended by the Chef)
install zip from sdcard
Fix Permissions
Reboot
Currently, I'm using BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA_Desire HD A2SD V20 (21.Jul) via DAF method without any issues.
I have used different SD cards but no luck - Currently I'm using 16GB Lexar Class 4. I can flash fine via DAF method. I have also done dual boot with Android and Windows Mobile without any problems. So,if I have successfully run an Android via a SD card (dual boot) so obviously SD card is not the problem?
This is really doing my head in so if anyone can help me with this, that'd be great.
Many thanks
Okay. Try to find Coredroid v1.6. Go here: http://hotfile.com/list/1335611/19f8a51 download the second file. There are instructions in there that you can follow. And since you have already partitioned SdCard, you can skip that part. And Btw, you don't need to do the "Fix Permissions" thing that you stated before. That is only done when you experience problems with apps in the Roms after first boot. And for the above Rom use a partition size of 400M.

Thanks for your prompt response - Btw, I forgot to mention that I have a LEO 512 - should I still install the second file which is for LEO 1024?
Rofl sorry ignore the step 1 and then jumping to 3. Just do this exactly. And I have adjusted the file to a EU version Rom with partition of 190m. And so with your SD that was partitioned already, you should be good to go.
1. Go here and Download. http://www.multiupload.com/ZH0WFJBT6P
3. On second Link download HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.6_TMOUS_NAND_ONLY_LEO1 024.rar file 4. In Toolkit Do "Task29." Then Flash MagLdr with size 190M and cache size 5M. 5. After the Flash of Magldr. Boot into MagLdr by HOLDING DOWN!!! Power Button during bootup. 6. Go to Option "5. Usb Flasher." and wait for "Wait USB...USB." 7. Once "Wait USB...USB." is confirmed. Go to the "Daf.exe" file in the COREDROID V1.6 file you downloaded before and "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR." 8. Once Finished Reboot into MagLdr AGAIN. This Time go to Option "8. AD Recovery." 9. Since you have already Partitioned SD. Then no Need to do so again. 10. Go to "Mounts and Storage" Then "Mount USB Storage" 11. Copy the Pyramid_HTC_WWE_1.35.401.1_v1.5_EU.zip to SD. 12. Once finished Hit the "BACK ARROW" Button. 13. Go down to "Flash ZIP From SDCard" then "Choose Zip from SDCard" 14. And Pick Pyramid_HTC_WWE_1.35.401.1_v1.5_EU.zip and flash. 15. Once finished, Reboot Phone, Leave it for about 20 Minutes because its First Boot. And Your Done. 16. Hit Thnx if this Helped.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused - Do you want me to flash Pyramid rom or core droid rom? For Pyramid rom, use 190M and for Core Droid 400M right? I did previously try flashing the latest Pyramid rom which 1.7 bit it didn't work - I used 200M for that but I'll try your recommendation and see how it goes.
Thanks.
Yes try the pyramid Rom with my steps exactly and you should be fine. But you have to run the Daf.exe from the Coredroid Rom once you are in Option "5. USB Flasher"

One final clarification - You mentioned that I should install 190/5, when I install DAF.exe from the core droid folder, wouldn't that override the 190/5 as I was under the impression that DAF.exe was a partition size as well.
Thanks
EDIT: This step 'Then Flash MagLdr with size 190M and cache size 5M.' I don't understand either - After Task 29, shouldn't I be installing mag and then flashing the 190/5 partition?
Ok - I followed the steps and after flashing the rom, the screen is stuck at GO GO GO - I'm sick of this - I just don't know what's the issue.
Anyone?
I tried flashing HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.6_Release_Version and that's stuck at GO GO GO screen as well.

What flash.cfg did you use for CWR?
The reason of GO GO GO is in my opinion because of small CWR flash.cfg. Because I had the same problem and I just changed as it was in the rom's topic.

I used the following:
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
boot yboot|ro 10M
system ya 390M
cache ya 5M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
Just want to reiterate that the GO GO GO issue is after flashing the rom - I can boot in CWR fine - The weird thing is that I have always followed what the chef has recommended in his/her rom - This issue has had me stumped - I virtually can't install any NAND rom - Maybe I should try a third SD card? I just don't know.
Did you try to install the one I gave to you?
Because from what I can see you are trying to install build with HTC SENSE right?
Try to install the one I gave you it is simple clean gingerbread rom.
If you tried then I don't know, try task29 and then try to install it all again.
Or try installing SD card version
Okay I will give you exact instructions. And BTW the Daf.exe is so you can boot into AD Recovery in MagLd.
1. Task 29.
2. Go to toolkit and Center Left you will see box with sizes of 150 200...... Click on 200M. Under that box is a little box with 45M as default cache size, change it to 5M.
4. Go in MagLdr. This is what I mean, try to go to Option "8. AD Recovery." It wont right? So go into Option "5. USB Flasher" and run the Daf.exe from the Coredroid folder and run as administrator.
5. Once finished boot into MagLdr once more this time going to Option "8. AD Recovery."
6. (This step is optional, but mandditory if you have not done so already)Once in AD Recovery, go to "Advance" menu, partition SdCard, and use the size 1024M,it will ask for swap size next, use 0M.
7. Once partitioned, go back to "Mounts and Storage" then to "Mount USB Storage."
8. Once mounted, copy the Pyramid Rom to root of SdCard. Once finished, hit back arrow once.
9. Go to "Install ZIP from SDCard" then "Choose ZIP from SdCard" and choose the Pyramid Rom. Let the flashing finish. And reboot phone.
10. Let the phone settle for 5 minutes in first boot, go through Setup. Then reboot phone.

Hi,
Seems like you were doing everything correctly.
According to [OP]:
2.Flash Recovery
- Goto MAGLDR113 menu
- Choose USB Flasher (use Volume down/Volume up button, then press Call button)
- Connect your phone to PC
- Run DAF.exe and follow guide step by step
- Phone auto reboot and go to MAGLDR113 menu
3.Flash rom by recovery.
- copy rom boyppc-shiftpdaxxx.zip to sd card
- goto magdl menu
- ad recovery
- install zip from sdcard
- choose zip from sdcard
- boyppc-shiftpda xxx.zip
- yes.....waiting android boot.....
Make sure you use a card reader to transfer rom to sd card.Less chance of corrupting files.
P.S. ROM can take 15-20 minutes to boot
ok so that rom i posted above will work on mgldr but also will support clockwork!

Help On NAND Rom!

I downloaded a gingerbread rom, and now I would like to know how do I boot the rom? Like when I open up the rom folder there is no DAF or any .exe inside.
I'm not understanding how the rom is loaded from the daf.exe in magldr.
you have given so little information. do you have mgldr,is your hd2 eu or tmous, which rom do you want to flash, have you made cwr partition,do you have sd-ext partition etc...
Its tmobile hd2, & ive never did a partition. & the rom is NexusHD2-Gingerbread and i had magldr but since I couldnt figure out how to flash so I went back to wm
The NexusHD2 Gingerbread thread has a complete tutorial in it...it's not that hard.
I guess... do I have to partition my sd? I just dont get where im suppose to put the rom files before starting daf.exe
It's pretty easy man. You don't have to partition your SD card since you have a TMOUS HD2. If possible, I would recommend you format the SD card before you copy over the NexusHD zip file to it just to avoid any hiccups along the way. DON'T extract the zip. Leave it intact and copy it to the card. You can put your stuff back on the card once you're up and running. Ok, here are the instructions on how to flash NexusHD2:
Download the file MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.2.0.0_for_NexusHD2_135M.zip (5.0 MB) This is to partition the NAND on the PHONE and extract it to your computer.
Enter MAGLDR 1.13 by holding power key while booting the phone, and then select "USB Flasher" via "VolUp" and "VolDown". Confirm key is the green "Call" button.
I think you may need either Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center just so it installs the correct drivers for the phone. You don't actually use it. It just installs the drivers for the phone. When you select USB Flasher on the phone you should see Wait USB...USB At the computer, run DAF.exe to flash ClockworkMod Recovery 3.2.0.0. You should see some text scroll by on the phone. Then it will reboot. Hold down the power button again to get back into Magldr. Go down to AD Recovery and select it with the call button. Your phone will now boot into Recovery mode. Go down to 'install zip from sdcard' and select it with the call button again. Then go to 'choose zip from sdcard'. Select it. Then select the NexusHD2 zip file you copied earlier. Let it do it's thing. It will tell you when it's complete. Use the arrow key to back up to the Recovery menu that says 'reboot system now' and select it. Let it reboot and enjoy.
If this works, I love you. & Im guessing since i flashed back to wm, I will have to install magldr and cwr again
Yep, you will have to flash Magldr and CWM again if you put WM back on it.
Thank you everybody for helping me out.

Do you have the cLK bootloader installed? If you don't, you can't use ROM manager properly on the HD2.
However, I'd suggest downloading the ROM you want from the browser, booting the HD2 into MAGDLR--> recovery, and installing from there. [ That is assuming you using MADGLR, which I'm assuming you are].

Copy the rom you want to your sd card (download after which bootloader you are using)
Wipe data/cache/dalvik from cwm and install rom.
and how do i know wich bootloader i use?And if you be kind could you tell me by a link wich rom is mach to my phone without problems?
When you boot up your phone, do you see a cmd-like screen showing some text after the htc screen? If so, you are using MAGLDR. Otherwise, cLK.
yes there is one...like some comand are runing and writes "ok" "done" and after that is the android logo..
so
wich rom is the best fit to hd2 and how to i put it in?
Is this the way? "Wipe data/cache/dalvik from cwm and install rom" and if so the file with the rom i put it on sd card root?or in a folder?
Sorry for the lot of guestions..

The best ROM depends on what you like. I'd suggest using Tytung's NexusHD2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
So, to install this ROM, you need to-
1. download the ROM and put it on your SD card. Just download it from your PC and drag it onto the SD card root, not in a folder. [it doesn't matter that much, but it's easier to just have it there instead of in a folder].
2. Boot into MAGDLR. Do this by holding the volume DOWN button and end call button at the same time while booting the phone.
3. In MAGDLR, scroll down into AD Recovery. From there, wipe data/factory reset, then install the .zip from SD card. Reboot your phone and enjoy the new ROM.

Yes this is mostly right but:
1. Use the app Titanium Backup to create a backup of all your apps and data on your SD card
2. To boot into MAGLDR hold down the power button, not volume down
3. Before wiping data I would recommend creating a full backup of your ROM in CWM, just in case
Also, you may need to repartition your NAND if necessary. Look in the first few posts of any ROM you decide to flash, it will at some point tell you what size 'system partition' you will need to create. If this partition size is less than or the same as 150Mb, you don't need to change anything. If, however, it is larger than 150Mb do the following:
1. Download and install the NAND Toolkit
2. Boot into MAGLDR menu then select 5. USB Flasher
3. Select 'MAGLDR repartition' in the toolkit
4. Select the correct partition size from the options given in the toolkit
5. Repartition
6. Flash your ROM (as a .zip) in CWM
7. Reboot, then reboot another few times just to be safe
8. (Optional) Restore your apps by downloading Titanuim backup, then pressing menu>batch>restore all missing apps and data.
Hope this helps
