Hi guys,
Yesterday i opened my phone to see if the gps cable was ok (i have problem with the gps).I also opened the top of the device (where the speaker and the camera is) to clean it.When i put everything back all was ok except the earphone.
Now when i am in a call i hear a strange noise behind the person's voice i am talking with...
Any tip or help to solve this? Thank you in advance!

Hey guys.
All over sudden my sound is gone on my I-Mate Jam
When i make a call i can still hear other person talking, so front speaker is fine, but I have no OS sounds or no loud speaker sounds and no ringtone sounds when someone calls me. Is this all rear speaker issues? Can anyone tell me how to fix it? i think some connection is loose, because i shook the phone 2 min ago and sound came back, then disappeared again.
Please help.
Seek and you shall find
Hi some where in this board there is a description about the soundboard which is connected to the main board. It could be that this sound board connector is loose. Try to search for soundboard. I had the same problem some time ago.
Put some alcohol on the mini jackplug of the earphones, that came with the phone and repeat inserting/removing the jack. Turning the plug while inserting is also a good thing. Repeat this several times, and also reapply some alcohol after a few inserts.
This helped me with 2 Magicians several times. Seems to be a standard problem.
This should help

Well, there are a few things to know before you go and test a solution. But if I am guessing it correct, you just installed a new BT Stack (you also call it BT Audio Headset Tool). So this stack has an option of automute, which once initiated, sends the device to mute forever.
The solution is:
Step 1: Go to Start > Settings > Connections
Step 2: Select the Bluetooth icon.
Step 3: Scroll to the extreme right where you find a TAB called 'Audio'.
Step 4: Uncheck the automute checkbox.
Voila! you are through I guess
I have a different kind of problem with sound. I droped the imate while its in case. Everyhting is fine and even there is operation system sound. But on the phone section, I cannot hear the other side's voice, while they can hear me clearly. I guess there is a connection problem with speaker on the top.
Is there anything taht I can do with software? I formated the device several times, after I got backup, but there is no change...
Any solution and suggestion would be good.

hello,
Ever since i have dropped my phone that one time where my stylus popped out, my speaker does not work during calls...I cannot hear the person but the person can hear me...also it works with the headset and when its on speaker phone, everything is normal....now i know its not the headset problem because when i turn on the fm radio it tells me to insert the headset so obviously it doesnt think that the headset is plugged in...now the weird thing is that right when it happened i would hear ppl and they couldnt hear me....but now ever since then it has been the other way around, where the person could hear me but nothing comes out through my speaker...im not sure what it could be? could something maybe have broken or moved inside the phone when it fell? im not sure what to do, can anyone help me?
thanks
Mike
Hello all
I have big problem with my himalaya. When someone calling to me or I calling to someone i can't hear anything and he can't hear me. But I can hear ring tone, mp3. I can hear someone and he can hear me when I connect my XDA 2 to computer.
What i can do with That??
the problem is with the connector.few Pins are broken or are touching each ither...which causes the Hima to go into Car Mode..try connecting a Headphone and see if it works or not..else get your Connector replaced
no audio
If the above doesn't work, this could be a problem, which after a LOT of research I don't believe there has been a fix found for. Essentially , my problem and a problem my mate had was that the audio on the phone was working FINE, MP3, ringtone etc... but upon answering or calling, there was no IN CALL sound. it WORKED with a headset, but no amount of fiddling with the jack sorted it out. THe LOUDSPEAKER also would NOT work.
Having a few donar phones lying about, I just put a new board into the phone and forgot about the problemed one for a week or so, left it laying in my drawer. Tried it in the phone after waiting this time, and it worked FINE.... the problem had rectified itself.
I know this isn't necessarily helpful, but perhaps leaving the phone in a dry warm place ? could be moisture..?
hope this helps.

well, it happend with me yesterday, just took the Batt. out ( 30 second), put it back, reset the device, and all will be OK,....its a software feature AND NOT A BUG... beleave it or NOT....

yesterday i dropped my phone & i have now lost the ability to talk or hear while making a call. when i recieve a call my phone rings but i cannot have any type of conversation. i also get no sound from media player etc. if i use a bluetooth connection or a wired earpiece it is fine so i am a little confused as to what is wrong.
does anyone have any suggestions?
if it works with bluetooth then you have obviously dislodged the contacts of the speaker or broke the connection, open it up and make sure the connectors are still making contact find any post by mike shannon and click on his webpage link and download the wizard service manual. That will show you how to take it apart and also where the speaker and connections are located
thanks
i have the manual already so i will open her up tonight & have a look see!
i just found it odd that the person i am talking to (but cannot hear) cannot hear me either is the microphone & speaker on the same circuit perhaps?

Hey, if you've already done it - how'd it go?
I went through a similar ordeal and the earpiece stopped working. I did a soft reset and VOILA! Everything back to normal.
Then the same thing happened just recently without any physical shock to the phone. Had to do a hard reset - but it worked!
No the microphone isnt on the same circuit, but they are connected to the circuit boards in the same way, the speaker and microphone just sit on contacts rather than hard wired to the board so they can be easily replaced.
Its possible that the shock has moved them. I had this problem with my first wizard with the speaker, but it wasnt the contacts in my case.
Ok XDA, i have one big/huge/enormous problem,
Scenario:
Talking on the phone, using the Wired Handsfree (which came with the phone), when i get another call (call waiting) the notification of the other call is going through the loud speaker! not only that, the ongoing is immediately routed the loud speaker, anyone near me can hear the conversation clearly!!!!!!
does anyone face this?
i checked it on 2 X1s, 1 black & 1 silver and it's there.
anyway to solve this
same problem for me
I have a similar problem with a Parrok CK3100. The phone can't ever seem to decide for sure what speakers it's supposed to be using.
Sometimes I'll press the Voice Command button on the bluetooth device and the phone speaks out, sometimes the car speakers speak out.
I just don't know.
Annoying that the much, much cheaper E71-2 handles all of this with great aplomb, as did my Q9h.
any one else facing this problem people?
i started searching in order to get a clue,
the main thing i'm thinking is that it's caused the same way VOIP (including skype) used to behave using speaker phone!
what do you think?
I have the same problem with a german x1. ROM R2A.
Is there any solution for this problem
thx
walk
Fixed
Bugs Fixes (Registry):
Sound is routed to the Loud Speaker when having a phone call and get a waiting call while using Handsfree
change the key HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Speaker to 0 (default value = 1).
added to the wiki of X1
Thanks. I've changed that setting to see if it solves my problem, too.
