i recently flashed my hd2 with dft magldr 1.10. everything worked great except the phone cannot recieve picture messages or access the mobile internet. So i went to upgrade my rom to magldr 1.13 and have run into some snags. i realize this is a total noob quest, but i really need some help. i try and run rom update utility, but it doesnt work cause my phine no longer has windows mobile.
You have to set the APN in settings. Go to wireless, mobile networks or something similar. You'll see APN and go into it. Press the menu key, which is the start button, then press add APN. Enter th correct APN settings for your provider.
Search for you phone provider APN. There is a bunch of them, just use the search.

Turn on the phone while holding volume down.
When you get the bootloader (3 colour screen) plug in the USB cable...
USB should appear at the bottom of the screen...
Flag magldr via ruu........
Then follow the apn advice above...
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face......
gonna give that a try, thanks ope this shiz works
the not being able to get internet is nothing to do with magldr its with the rom you flashed after that you need to be checking
well ive tried to run the rom update utility, but i cant connect the phone because its already been flashed from the nand, it has to be running wm for me to be able to connect it right?
ok i took the volume key advice and got the rom to update and its now running 1.13

I have the same problem, I have radio 2.10.50.26 but Im having some issues with WP7 restarting itself and no data connection, so I want to flash the 2.15 radio. I think I need be running WinMo to do this, but I have no idea how to flash back to a winmo rom from WP7. Help?
Simple,
Get to the tri color boot screen (vol down + power button)
Flash your win 6.5 ROM.
Hi, I am also trying to flash back to 6.5 from WM7. Could someone please give me some more details about how to flash back? I have the 6.5 rom on my PC and can get to the boot screen no problem but if I then try and install the old rom it fails as the PC doesn't detect the phone as being connected. Any help would be much appreciated, as although I love WM7 on my HD2 when it is working, it has a habit of randomly rebooting a lot! Thanks!

Just keep your phone unplugged and put it in bootloader mode. After a few seconds, the bottom part of the screen should say serial. Once it says that, plug it into your computer. Serial should change to USB in a second. If your computer doesnt have a driver for it yet, it should install that. Once its done, and once your phone says USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen, you should just be able to run the rom installer on your computer and install it. Good luck!
Thanks for you help, I managed that fine, though I had also wanted to remove the Hardspl I had used to add WM7. I have tried flashing the stock ROM back (via SD card and via USB) to overwrite it, however it fails to install correctly and the phone is being very unstable. Any suggestions!?
According to the thread I used to flash HSPL to my phone, you just make sure youre running a stock rom, then run the HSPL program like you did when you first put on HSPL, but choose 2.08.0000 in the selection screen.
That said, I havent removed HSPL so Im not entirely sure what to do if that doesnt work. If thats what you tried, Im not sure what to tell you
Have tried fiddling again and think I have done it! In the boot screen it now says SPL-2.08 (hopefully this is stock!?) and the phone seems to be behaving! Cheers for your assisstance
Yup, thats stock. No problem

You can changes Radio Roms as you wish under any OS. Just hold the Vol Down key when switching on to enter bootloader and flash via USB from there.

Hmmm I actually havent tried that yet, Ive done pretty much everything aside from reinstalling windows and stuff. I shut off my wireless during the process though because I turned off my antivirus and firewall. Hopefully that will work. WP7 is nice even without being activated, but it certainly doesnt come with many apps.
before i begin - im a complete newb at this stuff so please bare with me as im very confused. i was following this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948 and i got to the pont where i had flashed magldr onto my hd2. but instead of booting up after it was done - it got stuck on the o2 splash screen. Only bought the phone yesterday so im a little anxious. ive tried resetting settings by holding the 2 volume buttons down while i press the power button but that didnt do anything. any help appreciated.
UPDATE: ok ive managed to flash a stock rom onto the hd2 and got it working again. ive upgraded to the latest o2 uk rom. but id stil like android on the device. Does anyone know why magldr might have crashed the phone? the phone is locked to o2 so is that a problem?

What are the steps have you done? Basically flash HSPL to root your phone. Then flash MAGLDR. After these two you can start going to build to pick the ROM to flash.
i went back to the beginning and did everything again - i hadnt updated my radio version, which is why it was getting stuck. but the second time round everything seems to have worked fine - i now have boyppcs gingerbread rom installed. my advice to others - always READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. now if only i could work out how to get that cool 3d effect on the homescreen
dont have a clue how to use magldr
How do you work it?

I give a run down on HSPL, MAGLDR, cLK, CWM, and radio information. Plus I give detailed instructions on how to install them, plus links to where you can download them.

into bootloader
connect usb lead
ignore the red bit about activesync, so long as it says usb at the bottom of the screen in bootloader, it is fine.
flash a magldr compatible radio (look it up!)
Once magldr is working, you will need to go into activesync and untick 'allow usb connections' ((or maybe thats only for windows mobile device center, , anyone?)) before you can then start using usb for android based flashing.
done.
Hello guys,
Before getting frustrated about just another noob; No, I know the stuff with the volume down button, but it doesn't work (anymore) for me. I'm a noob but not a retard.
I have a very strange and frustrating problem. Like many of you I wanted to install Android 2.3 on my HTC HD2. Unfortunately I'm quite stuck. I did put radio 2.15.50.14, the 2.08.HSPL (with HSPL3_PKG), MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM (MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M) on my device, but when I tried to install the ROM via AD Recovery the device didn't show the menu and got stuck on "go go go". That's bad, but even worse is that I couldn't enter the tri-color screen to connect via USB and restore the original stock ROM. However I did manage to boot the "Stock Android" (NAND). Only way I can still flash is via USB Flasher. I read something about cabine (.cab) files that could somehow get you in the boot loader on other HTC devices, but can't find any for the HD2.
Anybody has any idea how I can enter the bootloader and restore my original Windows Mobile?
I have been searching for hours now. I have found similar problems, but no answers are given that can solve my problem.
I hope you smart guys can help me out. Is there maybe any way that I can run Windows Mobile the "NAND-way", to connect to Windows Mobile Device Center and flash my device?
Thanks in advance,
Stef van Son
This morning I just tried the volume down again, after the phone was in the MAGLDR menu the whole night. And now i could make it to the bootloader for some strange reason. Does anybody has an explanation for this?
I'm back to Windows Mobile now and have had it with flashing for now, but maybe after my exams I will go for Android again (I hate WinMo).

You might want to use some of the instructions in my signature... Also check out the CoreDroid thread, we have some pretty good instruction there. Usually if you pull you battery, then turn on your phone while holding vol down button, it will boot directly into the rainbow screen.
Well, I did follow quite good instruction manuals, but at the step of flashing the new rom, my device just didn't do what it was supposed to. It's quite strange, because WinMo 6.5 just works perfectly.
And no, pulling the battery out I tried probably a hundred times...

task29 erases EVERYTHING from your internal storage.
To flash a ROM now turn off the phone (battery pull).
hold the volume down key and press power.
You will now be at a tri-color screen.
now flash any WinMo rom from RUU or flash magldr for Android/WP7.
i have dwonload the omega file but it wont start up but in my frends pc it runs but cant find the phone

You don't need activesync on it since you are running from the bootloader. The only reason you would use activesync is to get it into bootloader mode.
does it say USB on your phone in bootloader when you connect it?
task29 erases everything except the HSPL...
so...after task29...
flash your stock ROM and done!
OR
if you want to use a custom ROM that INCLUDES a radio, then flash the ROM and done!
OR
if you want to use a custom ROM that DOES NOT INCLUDE a radio, then flash the chef recommended radio and ROM and done!
i have a feeling this "omega" ROM you speak about might not include a radio. this would be mentioned in the thread of the omega ROM...read and proceed accordingly.
I had the same problem. Turns out it won't work on my Lappy that is running XP but when I tried again using my wifes Lappy with Windows 7 it went straight on. I was at it for two days trying to get it to work. Took only a few minutes once I swapped Lappy's!!.
I have CMYLXGO's Topia HD-NAND Edition on my hd2.
The problem that I am having is that Mobile device Center does not show my phone when I connected to the usb.
can anyone help me?
Thanking you in advance,
Henry
Isn't mobile device center for windows mobile only?
You're on Android, why do you want to connect ti WMDC anyway?
Yeah, you don't have a WMo phone anymore, so to say.
If you want to connect to the PC, try USB mass storage.
If you need any help, just let me know.
Ok, so how can I change differents roms if my phone does not sync. with my pc, I used to able to do it, now for some reason I can't.
thank you for yor reply,

It depends on what room are you using?
If you are using magldr, clk or you are just flashing through clockworkmod.
For every type of bootloader there is a way to enter the flashing menu.
Just tell me what rom (and what type of bootloader) are you using and I'll tell you what to do.

HTC HD2
ACA GB 237 CM7
kernel 2.6.32.15
NAND Android ROCKS!
As a relative noob myself I recommend either HD2 tools or easyandroid, the latter being easy to use and explains every step of the process as you go and confirms you have correct radio, magldr HPSL ect already installed.
If you are looking for a good ROM, Team Blue Droid have produced an excellent sense 3.5 Rom which looks the business and works far better than many others I have flashed recently on mh EU HD2. I am not that technically minded regarding SD card partition types, but I run mine via SD card after flasing a 1024 partition using CMR and the accompanying DAF.exe.
From reading many threads I understand camcorder is less than perfect on most roms at highest res.
link is below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1275119
Try it with "HTC Sync" (download 4free) instead of mobile device center.

if yo uare flashing DAF roms the nyou go intothe bootloader and flash
most roms these days are CWM based and you install themn via zip file from the sd card no need for the computer
Ok, let me try to explain myself better so you can try to help me, thanks.
I did install the magldr 1.13 on my phone, when I plugged the phone to my pc for the first time it showed that it was intalling the driver and that went ok, my problem is that I don't see my phone on the screen so if I want to flash another rom how do I know that my phone is comunicating with my pc, my friend tells me that the minute he plugged he's phone to his pc, he sees his phone on the screen.
Can you help me?
Thanking everyone in advance,
Henry
have you tried removing and reinstalling wmdc? once just because of that i had to format my pc
1. You need to enter magldr bootloader, just reboot the phone and hold the on/ off key until you get on the magldr options screen. With your usb plugged in, scroll to usb flasher and confirm the option by pressing the call button.
Then open the rom you want to install in your PC and go for the flash. If the phone is not connected, then it shouldn't do anything. If it is, it will install.
2. Other option, from what I'm reading, I think your driver might not have been installed properly.
Try connecting the phone to other PCs. And do the usb flasher thing.
Let me know if this helped.
