Only bought the phone yesterday so im a little anxious. ive tried resetting settings by holding the 2 volume buttons down while i press the power button but that didnt do anything. any help appreciated.
UPDATE: ok ive managed to flash a stock rom onto the hd2 and got it working again. ive upgraded to the latest o2 uk rom. but id stil like android on the device. Does anyone know why magldr might have crashed the phone? the phone is locked to o2 so is that a problem?

What are the steps have you done? Basically flash HSPL to root your phone. Then flash MAGLDR. After these two you can start going to build to pick the ROM to flash.
i went back to the beginning and did everything again - i hadnt updated my radio version, which is why it was getting stuck. but the second time round everything seems to have worked fine - i now have boyppcs gingerbread rom installed. my advice to others - always READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. now if only i could work out how to get that cool 3d effect on the homescreen
dont have a clue how to use magldr
How do you work it?

Again as I said in reply to your post asking what CWM is click on my guide I have linked in my sig and it will tell youi what MAGLDR iswhat each option is and what it does. I give a run down on HSPL, MAGLDR, cLK, CWM, and radio information. Plus I give detailed instructions on how to install them, plus links to where you can download them.

into bootloader
connect usb lead
ignore the red bit about activesync, so long as it says usb at the bottom of the screen in bootloader, it is fine.
flash a magldr compatible radio (look it up!)
Once magldr is working, you will need to go into activesync and untick 'allow usb connections' ((or maybe thats only for windows mobile device center, , anyone?)) before you can then start using usb for android based flashing.
done.

NOW ITS FIXED. THANKS
Dear all,
after experimenting quite a few cooked rom, my hd2 stoped working all on a sudden. When i tried to switch it on it came only the white screen with green htc written on it. And it (white screen) stucked and used to stay on. I took the battery off and switched on again it remained same. Just before a while i tried again, now the white screen coming for a second and no more pulse. Please advice me.
Thanks in advance.

connect your phone to your PC via ActiveSync/WMDC and run your stock ROM and see if that helps...even with no ROM on the phone Windows should still show connected
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
*Go into BootLoader Mode (turn off phone, then press and hold the VOLUME DOWN then Press and hold the POWER button. After about 3 seconds the tri-coloured screen should appear). Verify the screen shows SPL-1.42.HSPL, which is the HardSPL version*

If you get tri-colored screen you can flash any ROM that you want without ActiveSync ... one of the advantages of HSPL if you have one installed.
Thanks again,
its not the tricolour screen.
It doesn't connect with the pc through active sync. As i tried to go for another rom after it got stuck.
Really worried a bit.
Sorry bro, i got it what you said. I got the tri colored screen after following your instruction.but its staying for a second and going off. I have done the hspl installed before. Any more advice would really be of very helpfull.
Thanks
Which ROM/radio are you using? If you've got HSPL installed it shouldn't be difficult to get it working again, you should just need to flash to a compatible ROM and radio.

If you have HSPL and can see tri-color screen on display ... just plug in usb cable (that is connected to PC) in HD2 and start flashing process again the same way that you did before. I suggest you flash some of the official ROMs.
Thanks _x_
after having seen tricoloured screen i connected it with usb cable and flashed as normal. It did work for. And the phone is alive again.
Thanks to all of you for your attention and helps.
Cheers.
Glad I could help but it is "bepe" that you should thank to for HSPL

grey screen, writing in blue? sounds like it thinks you have a rom on your sd card. try it without the sd card in.
Thanks for you suggestion - tired that already should have said.
The issue is fixed however - I took out SIM aswell as SD, manualy booted to loader. Waited 5 min then it changed to USB! Quickly opened HSPL3 an re flashed.
Issue was still the same! So followed same procedure and used HSPL 1.6 that fixed it! I can then flash with a rom suitable for Android!
Flashed 4 min later, put Android on - now loving my new phone - its amazing the difference! This is how the HTC HD2 should have been!
heh, lucky you, i've tried android on 6 different occasions now, first four times i wasted some hours and never got it to boot, 5th and 6th time it worked, but when i restarted, the phone wouldn't restart without a hard reset, so i'm not touching it again for at least another three months.
Thanks. Your solution worked great. As soon as I pulled the SIM and waited a few minutes it popped right up. You should mark this thread title as solved
@samsamuel try using nand its alot easier to install and there are some great builds on this website!

Hi there,
the problem is not solved for me!
I flashed my HD2 several times before, using winXP. Now I got a new laptop with
Win 7 64 bit. I want to flash my phone with a WM6.5 Dutty ROM. The phone syncs fine when running but when it switches to bootloader, the laptop doesn't recognize the phone anymore. It does not switch to USB and on the Laptop I get the message that there is no driver for "Qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM"
Help please, I tried to find some answers but couldn't find anything!
Thanks.

Mate, check my suggestion at your other post (you started a new thread today!)
Hi
A friend of mine has a HD2, never HSPL or anything and still running on 1.42 rom.... Now everytime it boots it goes straight into the bootloader. Since its never been messed around with I find it odd, seen it before with people with other phones. Would this just be a corrupted ROM and therefore it goes there, would if poss a stock rom flash be able to restore the phone, if that is not the case then a warranty return is still valid, but obv not wanted.
What do you think, will this work? I did search but everyone's posts come up with I task 29 and now stuck... etc and not from a stock bootloader as well!
Cheers any help will be appreciated, my first thing I will get him to try is a rom reflash but that will be tonight, I'll update on the progress then!
First thing I would check is if his volume button is stuck for some reason. Second would be to see if it detects a USB connection, then hard spl and new rom from that point. Keep us posted.

The post above me is correct check and make sure the volume down button is not stuck/Hung in the down position. If it is stuck in the down position like it is being held down at boot then this is the cause of it going straight to bootloader at boot up. If there is no problem with the volume down button then try a hard reset of the HD2. Warning this will reset your friends HD2 tolike it was fresh out the box so any photos, videos, documents, and etc that is not on the SD card they will lose. Also any contacts that are not backed up withan app like Microsoft My Phone will be lost. To do the reset while the HD2 is off bold the volume up and the volume down buttons down and press and bold the power button down. When you see the tri color screen come up release the volume and power buttons and follow the instructions on the screen (hint: you will want to press the vume up button). Now if after the Hard reset your friends HD2 still goes to bootloader at boot up then download and flash the stock ROM for their HD2 you can find it on HTC.com but make sure you varifiy that it is for their HD2 by entering the serial number of their HD2 you can find the serial number look under the battery. To flash the ROM let the HD2 boot up to the bootloader and then connect it to the computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of the boooader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognize the pbone and then run the .exe or RUU wich everone the ROM has.
Never thought of the key being held done will try that first.
Also I won't HSPL'ing as its in warranty and a half HSPL'ed phone is well useless
OK so i feel like a bit of an idiot for this one. Turns out what I call a bootloader and he does is totally different. For me Its the tri-colour screen, for him its the red/orange windows boot screen. So it was all solved by a HR. Great..
Sorry for those who offered the advice but it really was not needed. but solid advice it was, you always can rely on help in here
Hello guys,
Before getting frustrated about just another noob; No, I know the stuff with the volume down button, but it doesn't work (anymore) for me. I'm a noob but not a retard.
I have a very strange and frustrating problem. Like many of you I wanted to install Android 2.3 on my HTC HD2. Unfortunately I'm quite stuck. I did put radio 2.15.50.14, the 2.08.HSPL (with HSPL3_PKG), MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM (MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M) on my device, but when I tried to install the ROM via AD Recovery the device didn't show the menu and got stuck on "go go go". That's bad, but even worse is that I couldn't enter the tri-color screen to connect via USB and restore the original stock ROM. However I did manage to boot the "Stock Android" (NAND). Only way I can still flash is via USB Flasher. I read something about cabine (.cab) files that could somehow get you in the boot loader on other HTC devices, but can't find any for the HD2.
Anybody has any idea how I can enter the bootloader and restore my original Windows Mobile?
I have been searching for hours now. I have found similar problems, but no answers are given that can solve my problem.
I hope you smart guys can help me out. Is there maybe any way that I can run Windows Mobile the "NAND-way", to connect to Windows Mobile Device Center and flash my device?
Thanks in advance,
Stef van Son
This morning I just tried the volume down again, after the phone was in the MAGLDR menu the whole night. And now i could make it to the bootloader for some strange reason. Does anybody has an explanation for this?
I'm back to Windows Mobile now and have had it with flashing for now, but maybe after my exams I will go for Android again (I hate WinMo).

You might want to use some of the instructions in my signature... Also check out the CoreDroid thread, we have some pretty good instruction there. Usually if you pull you battery, then turn on your phone while holding vol down button, it will boot directly into the rainbow screen.
Well, I did follow quite good instruction manuals, but at the step of flashing the new rom, my device just didn't do what it was supposed to. It's quite strange, because WinMo 6.5 just works perfectly.
And no, pulling the battery out I tried probably a hundred times...
Hello,
I recently found back my hold HTC HD2 and when I tried to start it up..It just hangs on the HSPL/SPL coloured screen. When I first powered it up HSPL by Cotulla was on it and it always ran Android.
So I download the Stock Windows Phone ROM from the Internet and installed it, but it still hangs on the HSPL Screen. So I installed the Stock SPL but I didn't help..
Can someone please help me? I really want to use the phone again but it seems there is a problem. There still is a SD-Card in it which has 4GB...Can someone please explain me how to get the phone back to Stock windows phone?
Can someone please help me?
Try removing sd card.
If still same issue leave sd card out & reflash ROM from links below.
flash hard spl 2.08
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=522724&d=1298224028
flash htc rom
http://www.androidruu.com/Leo/RUU_L..._Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe
* If it a T-Mobile USA hd2 (red endkey & green callkey) then use that model ROM linked below
http://www.androidruu.com/Leo/RUU_L...adio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_1.5_Ship.exe
When rebooting also use the soft reset button next to battery & try it a few times if unsuccessful first time booting.

I had the same problem bro, do you want android or windows on the phone?
I want the original Windows Phone back on it.
Mister B:
I followed your steps but it didn't fix the problem. When I start up the phone, the three coloured display shows up and it says 'Serial' on the bottom. Tried the reset button several times and even holding down both Volume-buttons to Hard Reset the phone, but it didn't fix the problem.
The phone always worked fine, what is the problem?
Have you tried doing Task29(full wipe) via HD2 toolkit?
Yes, I already tried Task29 before flashing Hard SPL and Original ROM. I really want to get the Phone working again so my Mom can use it!
Hopefuly someone can help my out with this annoying and weird problem.
After installing the stock rom, what did the phone do? Did it restart to the HSPL screen?
Yes, it restarted back to the HSPL screen. It also shows 'Serial' on the bottom and when I connect USB cable It shows 'USB' on the bottom.
Try flashing stock rom from sd card rather than via usb & see what results you get.
I tried flashing the Stock ROM from the SD-card but it didn't help. It still is stuck at the SPL-screen showing 'Serial' on the bottom when I start up the phone.
Which exact ROM do I need to use for a Netherlands(Europa) HTC HD2 (NON-TMOUS!)?
I hope to hear back from you as soon as possible!
Can someone help me please? Tried everything!
