can someone list which kernels work with the 0.014 ICS update for the a500? im sick of the stock kernel that came with cm9, i believe and want to flash another one.
my tabs unlocked, cm9 installed, but is laggy so i think OC'ing it may help a tad.
ty in advanced as im new to the world of flashing kernels

Currently, there are no known OC/UV kernels for the 500/501 running ICS. With the exception of TegraOwners, however it only works with the Tegraowner rom as best I know.

damn, i was hoping there was a kernel out there.. is it possible to take a kernel from another tegra2 device & flash it to the a500?

Look in my thread , they are not OC kernels , the tweaked ones but they improve smoothness big time.
One thing they are build for 1.031.00 based rom , they will work on older versions but it is possible that camera fails.

Help Kuro Kernel

Hi to all, i need a little help with the installation of this kernel. I'm trying to install it in ussr v3 and v4 and always get bootloop. I read that is necessary to uninstall a2sd but i don't know if those ROMs have it (both have Repencis kernel) and i don't know how to uninstall it. I checked init.d folder and i dont see any files with "a2sd" and i dont have my sd-card partitioned or anythig so i dont know what to do, please help. Thanks in advance guys.

I to had the same problem but i was able to install the kuro kernel but i was using ICS fusion v2.0 rom
unroot ur phone
do a data wipe/cache
before installing kuro kernell
After installing Kuro kernel u may root ur phone again.
And remember always to flash it via CWM & not the stock recovery
u can use the faqbly method to flash the kernel

what? unroot? I don't know why did my kernel got a problem with root stuff. try this one. usr have bacem tweak inside it, you'd better remove it or change the value to -20mV before you install my kernel.

i install this kernel with Repencis v3.5 and i didnt get bootloop maybe the a2sd thing is the one thats get you a bootloop cause i use link2sd..because of that i didnt got any problem
btw this kernel is COOL really fast and battery saver

Hi noob question here
I flashed kuro kernel(love this kernel BTW)on samsumsung kies updated stockrom but IMEI number disappeared (IMEI blank)gone from phone has anyone else had this happen. Is there a simple fix to this or reason ?, or do I have to stick with xxla2 which is fine but I love the enhancements on the kies updated rom
I have flashed back stock xxla2 and IMEI number has returned so no damage done
I did'nt note down the kies update number my bad.

You really need kuro? Try savie SGY kernel.. It optimizes batter life and it has 15governors!!

the only way you will know what works best for you is to test it

please refrain from saying one thing is better than something else as this is normally not true in the scientific sense or just personal opinion
your use can differ from someones else so what might work "best" for you may not work "best" for someone else

"best" or "better" is personal choice.
Also Savie's kernel is banned.
(I know it was one of good kernels, but he could not upload sources.)

How much stuff did you delete? Because the most I've gotten while it still being a working phone with gapps and everything is 310mb.

So is this a new kernel that is in "testing" and is not released yet? Because doing a search only brought up DiXperia ROM, so guessing DikeJ is working on a kernel, perhaps?
If this kernel is available can you be kind enough to post a link for it?
Edit - scratch that, the only thing I find is an X10 kernel... so going to venture DikeJ is working on porting it to our Xperia PLAY.. as I know he does work on teh X10 as well.

This says its a JB kernel, but is this a GB kernel as well?

I'm working on this kernel for DikeJ and his set of dixperia ROMs and I don't have any plans to upload it till DikeJ ask me to
edit: there will be a kernel for each android ROM DikeJ Makes this kernel is for dixperia perennial

Possibly since its based on Lupus Kernel I should be able to work something out

That's awesome but when it's ready and dike j says you can upload do you think you can make two versions work one of them having als disabled. My phone als is broken so unless Als is disabled at kernel level it won't work. Sorry if it's too much to ask but if you can do that I'll be very grateful

But if you give the system, kernel etc. 420mbs of ram, there's only about 90mbs for the gpu/3d rendering(?) left. Wouldn't that cause lag in games?

The 90mb RAM is for the Kernel, not for GPU/3D Rendering - That is done using system RAM.

There will be 4 main Kernels from DXEngine:
-2 for X10 (GB and JB)
-2 for Play (GB and ICS/JB)
But it's not over, cause each main project will have other version with other destination - for example with some features disabled, but better in performance etc. etc. Justin (@extremetempz) is main Kernel Developer for my ROM projects so all credits goes to him - I focused on ROMs to make it best stable and settled with Kernels - trust me, it should do the job .

games should actually run smoother because I've doubled the vram 4mb vs 8m
Edit: if anyone can extract lupus v12 ramdisk because it keeps Chucking errors at me please pm me asap as I need to extract to put the WiFi modules in and change a few things

well i have extracted it its using another format for ramdisk(bot the normal gzip)
i dont have the link i used to know how to extract but if you search a bit you will find it
(i dont have the extracted ramdisk because i have deleted my compiler machine from virtualbox)

Awesome. Hey DikeJ I hope you and extremetempz dont me offering to beta test this kernel for you. I am on GB currently debloated stock on Lupus Kernel v12. Would love to test out this kernel if you wanted to have someone test it out. Either way I am excited to see this new kernel whether I beta test it or not.

Hello guys i jave been serching alot about a good kernel and room but im new on the note 3 so i want to overclock cpu and gpu to match galaxy s5 frquenzys and i can find a good kernel and room wich one can u recomend me

Ok brah i dpscovered that the note 3 ia hard to oc the gpu so i will get an xperia z2

If you do oc phone should be unstable and I think its not necessary

Kernels

Hi guys. I am wondering if kernels are more "universal" than roms? I ask because I would really like to be able to overclock this tab a little but need a compatible kernel and Im not aware of any more for this tab yet. So I wonder since kernels dont have to have drivers and all that if one from a different tab would work?

if your talking about the tab 4 t230/t230nu then the hardware is very specific to the devices and building kernels/recoveries is very difficult flashing kernels for any other device will almost certainly be bad news for your t230/t230nu.. and a beginner dev i would not advise it and just wait for us devs to come up with something..

currently i dont believe there is a specific kernel to overclock the 530 but i may be wrong unless there is a rom which comes with a clockable kernel... you may want to have a hunt around in the tab 4 dev sections..

Oh ive hunted lol, havnt seen any kernels for download. Hoping someone knows if one of the rom kernels has overclocking enabled.
