Gmail not sending

Hey Guys. Not necessary looking for a fix but misery loves company so I figured I'd ask if anyone is having a similar issue:
When sending email through Gmail IMAP email messages receive and sync, but do not send (yielding a popup that states "make sure your connection to the server is correct...etc")
So anyone feel my pain on this?
same issue here
I am on DCD 3.1.2 w/radio 3.39.10 and I have the same issue.
Going to go back to pop3 for now and see if fixes this issue for me.
I'm running off of completely stock stuff right now ( i think it's 3.53). Nothing special or cooked.
Should be working, but it's not. :-/
I'm also having this issue
this happens intermittently for me - very intermittently. I have found that ending my google mail account that's running in the background and going into that mail account via the mail application again corrects the issue. I use HTC Task Manager to close out apps in the background... a soft reset would do the same thing.
This is a Gmail (imap)/Windows Mobile issue. Not sure what the problem is, but it definitely sucks.
I would recommend sticking with Gmail POP until Google gets their WinMo/imap act together.

[Q] Corporate Email Push Issues (Fission)

I am posting here as most Fission discussion it here.
Ever since I have been running Fission on my d2 (which I love) I have had constant problems with my corporate exchange email dropping syncing. At first I thought it would stop after having night battery saver on with it's period of inactivity, but even if I turn that off after a day or two it'll just stop syncing. I can restart and that will kick it back in, but again, after a random amount of time it will stop syncing again.
It is set to Push. I have installed the fission roms every which way (sbf, wipe cach, data, dalvik, through FRM, etc) and exchange syncing still always trails off and stops working consistently. I cannot recall having this issue in the stock rom.
Anyone have any fixes? Any third party apps worth checking out?
thanks! -todd
3rd party app
I do not use stock email in a corp environment, but I do use touchdown for android - works great no complaints here except the price - 20 bucks, but well worth it for the features it provides over the stock android email client
That's very odd, I had the exact opposite issue as you.
With the stock ROM, my exchange email would never push to my phone, which is the main reason I decided to switch to Fission ROM, as not being able to get my corporate email is just not acceptable to me.
Ever since my email has been pushed to my phone instantly as it arrives on the Exchange server. The only issue that I see now, is that if I read an email in my Outlook, it will not remove the notification from my phone, however that is apparently always been the case with Android, and Motorola must have implemented something to change that.
thanks for the replys guys.

[Q] Facebook push notifications stopped

I have Facebook 1.5, which supports push notification for comments on my wall and chat. However, yesterday I went on Facebook's site and saw that someone had commented on something I had posted, but I had never received the push notification for that from the app! Then today, I was Facebook chatting with a friend on my computer, but my phone Facebook app was not notifying me as it had done faithfully since I updated my Facebook app.
Chat notifications don't come through unless I start the app and go into chat. After I exit, notifications go through until the chat ends. But they are supposed to come up without my starting the app.
I rebooted my Droid to see if that would clear things up, but it obviously has not.
Please advise.
ive had the same problems forever. the only fix i've found for the chat issue is Go!Chat and for the fb notifications, f+ tool
I'm so desperate, I'll give your F+ app a try. It can't hurt.
Problem with f+, it pops up a message at the bottom of the screen saying my Facebook session is invalid, even though I am logged in and the message will not go away, even when I exit the app.
never had that happen to me :\ although f+ never worked 100% of the time, just more often than fb app did. i said screw it and got rid of f+ too, just edited my fb settings so i recieve an email for every notification, that way i get notified thru gmail on my phone.
I unisntalled f+ because all it does is notifications and I can't follow my time line on the Facebook app because they can't both be logged in simultaneously.
Email is an option of course, but I really like the push noficiations better.
yeah me too, sucks that the most popular website on the internet and the most popular smartphone OS cant be completely syncronized, i mean seriously, somebody shoulve made something by now to do this and do it well.
It does! I hate to say it, but the BlackBerry app was a million tmes better than the Facebook one because it consistenltly delivered push notifications.

Emails wows

Hi
I've moved over from Winmo and I really like sgs but recently I've started having issuses with my emails. To cut a long story short, I had a problem with my handset which Vodafone kindly replaced with froyo 2.2 (previous handset had 2.1) and since then I've had problems with receiving email messages. The sgs is configured to connect to my work Exchange 2007 server and is set to check automatically (push) for new emails. I can go for about a day without receiving anything but yet my mailbox has new emails! I've tried different networks - I brought the phone unlocked, restarting, ending task ....... list goes on!
any ideas what I should do? I do sometimes see the error "connection error" in yellow at the top of the email app screen but it then disappears and start refreshing, again sometimes this does the trick and other times nothing happens.
please help!

If is set to check is set to check and that means that your server is not PUSHING email and on top of that your server doesn't allow SGS to check.
I have a Winmo phone configured as I can't rely on the SGS and that works 100% configured the same way!
I've also tried removing the account and re-creating which hasn't helped.
Could it be the phone itself? only 2 things have changed since it last worked, the hardware and the system software. We have other users using Android and its working fine for them
confused!
The stock samsung email is [email protected] Try K9 email from the market or try deleting your email accounts from the samsung app and use the 'Social Hub' app (also a stock Galaxy app made by Samsung) to add an exchange account as a 'push' type and see if that works.
How do I add the Exchange account to the Social Hub? Just try it now and all I see is my SMS messages but no option to Add an account, the menu button does nothing.
I will try K9 in the meantime
thanks
K9 have removed the Android version from their download site! any other ideas?

thanks mate but I'm sure our Exchange 2010 server doesn't support webdav. A note aside I think I know why the stock email client is not working correctly. What I have noticed is that when it does try and check for emails at the scheduled times, if for any reason it can't connect it stops and then doesn't re-try at the next interval, when I do a manual refresh I see all the "connection Error" messages popup at the top of the screen and once they have dissappeared, only then does it start receiving messages again.
any ideas?

[Q] Email apps keeps hanging/spinning - help

Anyone else having issues with the email app? Mine seems to just keep spinning when trying to download new emails so I have to keep killing it and relaunching it to get new emails. Sometimes even after I see the list of messages, if I click on one to read it just churns like its trying to d/l message. I have to kill and relaunch again. Irritating as you can imagine.
I'm on yahoo and believe I'm on the latest release. I'm not on any fancy from, just the stock + updates. Yes. I'm the original owner.
Just looking for guidance here. Seemed to be fine until the last few months. I thought it might have been the widget so I removed that and just check email from the app itself. No go. I really kinda miss the nice widget UI that tells me how messages in queue but will just take a consistently working email app I don't have to re-launch every time I want to check email.
Thanks in advance for any help.
