Hello everyone, quite the newbie here so please be nice.
I'm in love with my Xperia arc. It has an amazing camera, I'm loving Android, and it's been mostly a breeze so far. A few hiccups and crashes, but nothing major.
My complaint here is minor, but nonetheless it's distracting. Whenever I receive an SMS, I pull down the notification bar and open the message. I reply, or sometimes I don't, but whenever I'm done with the message (either after sending the message and the conversation window closes by itself, or when I press the back/Home button if I don't reply), when I go back to the homescreen, the Messaging icon on my shortcuts tray flickers. It's always like that. Now it just flickers for a fraction of a second and it doesn't really get in the way of functionality, but it's just really annoying!
Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

If I am in the text messaging screen in landscape mode, and close the phone into portrait mode, the screen does not completely rotate.
The top portion of the screen switches, and the bottom menu bar switches, but there is a section about 1/3 the size of the screen that remains in landscape mode until I close the text message program.
It only does it in texting, no other programs cause this problem with the screen, and it has only started doing it since I hard reset the phone.
Any help??
Yeah, texting does some strange stuff for me too. Sometimes when I push the button to select the contact i want to text it takes quite awhile for it to bring up the texting screen. And yes, same as you on the switching from landscape.
hmm.... That's wierd. I cant seem to find anything else relating to this problem
i am having the same problem also.. but recently it stopped.. idk wuts going on?
well, i figured out what the problem was with mine. It was doing it because I hacked the registry for the SIP to completely kill the pop-up keyboard. After re-enabling it, no more screen issue.
I have the TMOUS HD2 and I am having 2 problems and I want to see if anyone else is either experiencing this or if it's just my phone.
On SENSE SMS messages, the keyboard will auto deploy and I will begin to type or Swype and nothing will show, unless I select or highlight the last message and then refocused on the blank area of my current message and then it will show. It's almost as if the screen doesnt redraw the text as I input it. It's VERY annoying.
When I'm in a call, and pull the phone away from my face, the screen will come on, but I can't press or access any button on the dialpad (Eg, Red Endcall or Keypad button) but I am able to press all of the hardware buttons and go to the home screen of Sense and do everything else on the phone. This is really frustrating, because I call my bank and I can't use the touch tone features to access my account or put a caller on hold and do the other features while on a call.
I would just like to know if these are isolated incidents that I'm just experiencing with my HD2, or is there a solution to theses issues. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

I think that's just something you have to deal with, I used to get it on the O2UK stock 1.43 ROM after installing the hotfix (I assume it's cooked into the TMOUS ROM). After installing Windows Mobile 6.5.x I haven't come across the issue.

This is a known bug that we all have. When you start typing, sense is busy loading all your txts from that contact, and when it has finished loading them it auto focuses on the last text. During that time you cannot see what you are typing, though it is still being typed. When you then select the text input area your typing appears.
The fix is to not have many texts saved.

you have either bsbtweaks "increase tap time" tweak turned on, or the increase taptime cab from the hints tips thread.
This tweak stops the incall screen from registering presses. Turn it off.
These are both very common, and there must be a few hundred threads asking the same questions.
The BST thing fixed the call problem I was having. And imma try to clean out the sms message to regain speed. Thankyou VERY much Samsamuel and Kalavere! Luv ya like a play cousin!
I use Motoblur and no P-ROM. I have been observing since a few days that my notification drawer hangs when i do screen unlock. So when i swype down the screen is hung and unresponsive. However, when I use the capacitive touch buttons it again becomes responsive after few seconds.
Also, the new email notification from the default Motoblur email client is now shown as a blank space in the notification bar.
I don't know what has changed in the few days, as phone is hanging too much and going for quite often reboots. I never had reboot issues earlier. Can someone help me find the culprit.

Which Atrix version/Carrier?
Have you installed any 3rd party apps lately?
Honestly, you're probably looking at a factory reset of you haven't done/installed anything unusual recently...
I am on At&t Atrix 4.1.83 and on o2-de.
I had installed few third party apps but I uninstalled all of them, fearing they might have been causing things to hang.
I feel the culprit is the email client, because the notification bar hangs on new email notification. Is there any other way except factory reset. It will take a long time for me to setup everything again.

Anupam

I had the problem with the notification bar from the beginning. When i get a new email and I unlock the phone and swipe down the notification bar it doesn't work on the 1. attempt...the second is successful. No idea what causes it....I am on my second Atrix and both had this problem....software glitch I guess...
OnePlus One's screen has some bugs. One them is BACON-347 (https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-347) The first touch in any location while a phone call, pulls down the notification panel. This app can fix notificaiton panel opening problem while a phone call.
Immersive mode without root or xposed mode. Now it is possible to prevent this bug FOREVER.
Please remember that this app only work during phone call. If you have other touch screen issues please report that bugs to OnePlus.
Until this post 1000+ users installed and 89 of them gave 4.66 point for review. According to Flurry, this app fixed this problem more than 221,000+ times (5k in a day).
What is the problem: The problem is shown in the BACON-347 (https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-347). There is some ghost touch above status bar which cause to open notification panel. After first touch to screen, phone assume that these two touches releated (Your touch and ghost touch) and tell to system there is a slide from first touch to second one. This action opens the notification panel. But if the second touch is for hang up to call phone cant do that because it assume that you want to open notification.
How this app works: During a phone call, this app put a view above status bar and absorbs the effect of ghost touch(When this happened, fix count increase) After user's first touch, if user try to hang up call, app assists user and close the call. But if user touch any other position other than close button, app closes and dont open the notification panel. That is all.

yes i was always wondering what the issue was. I will definitely give this a try.
It works sometimes to well
I have been using this app for probably about a week now. I can confirm that it works and has solved issues like when trying to end a call the notification bar comes down covering up the end call button so I dont end the call. The downside is if like you multitask a lot when on the phone and you need to pull the notification bar down it can be a pain. The app basically stops touch responses on the top left of the screen, so if you there is something you actually need to touch up there you have to disable the app. Which is easy enough just gets annoying. However I have discovered if you need to pull down your notification bar while in a call you can still do so by pulling down on the top right corner to pull down the quick toggles and then flip over to the notification area.
TL;DR - App works well and is worth it if constantly have issues with notification bar getting in the way when trying to end a call or it comes down after ending a call. Not without its flaws though if you multitask while on the phone.

What do you think if i put a button on screen for disable apps effects during call? Do you think it can be useful?

I think that would be great and helpful myself. As I said at times I must take get to the notification bar while on a call at times, which as I said I discovered if you pull down on the right for the quick toggles and flip over to notifications works. Not sure if it is possible as I do not do app development or if others would agree with me, but for me an option to disable whenever speaker phone is enabled and then enable again once taken off speaker phone would also work. As I find myself putting the phone on speaker whenever I need to multitask to the point that might require me to open up the notification bar.
Otherwise I find the app extremely useful as I said in the post before, appreciate your work.
I would recommend xposed force immersive module. Enable it on com.android.incallui and voila no sliding statusbar. It makes the incoming call fullscreen and you can not touch statusbar with your ear.

I updated app yesterday and add immersive mode without root or xposed. Now it is possible to prevent this bug forever.
Just tested this with a few calls, and it worked well.
Will continue to monitor. So far so good.
Thank you!

With the last Cyanogen OS 12 update for OnePlus One I verified that the bug still exists in Lolipop. I am wondering if it exists in OxygenOS.

Sorry but I didnt understand. What is twrp about?
I am trying to solve this issue for my mom. She is running completely stock from Verizon. The issue is when she tries to forward a text message from the stock app, it occasionally will not recognize the long press on the text bubble. The issue seems to be intermittent . When I attempted to test the issue, it was having no problems, then I closed all open processes / applications and the problem reappeared.
When I attempt a long press on the text bubble, it will grey out for a split second, then act as if I never touched the screen. However it recognizes the touch to scroll if that makes sense. The problem seems isolated to the text messaging app. A long press in Gmail still will start the copy / paste function.
I pulled the battery and loaded the messaging app first and the problem seems to start from start up. Unless there is a process that loads on startup that I need to make inactive.
Anyone else have a similar issue, or possible solution?
