Hi people,
Got my dell streak today and i already cannot use it due to bad flashing I guess. I had v347 unlocked version and tried to flash 351 by using the sd card method -->renaming the 351 pkg to update.pkg. The installation process went ok but after the phone reboots, I am stuck at the Dell Logo for more than 15min.
Tried a factory reset but to avail. Can anyone please help me...I can't believe I might have bricked the D.Streak in less than 24hrs!! Help!!!!!
Edit : I think I did a dumb thing....my streak is dead now...won't even start....I use fastboot and flash the img and mbn files in the 351 section (http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/351/) and now the phone won't even start. No response...bricked...I've read that there is an internal storage in the phone, will it be possible for someone to back up their storage and if I disassemble my streak and copy the contents, will this unbricked my phone?
351 requires the 351 Recovery File
you will need to flash the 351 recovery file in order to let the upgrade package work.
http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/351/recovery.img
Thanks for the tips...I've already tried it using fastboot but I am still stuck on the Dell Logo. Any other suggestions?

I didn't. The 2 times the 351 update worked on my phone was when I copied it to the SD card and used a file explorer to run the package and update. The 1 time I flashed the 351 recovery is the time my phone was bricked.
Do yourself a favor and copy the 351 update to the sd card and update from there.

Yeah, call dell or whoever you got it from and request a new phone due to thir update breaking your phone. That's what I had to do after QDL tool and nothing else worked.

Newer QDL? What version(s) do you have? I've ran it many times and the process itself is always a success but I could never pass the dell logo.
I had the same issue and just went to streakdroid 1.9 any luck you might have let me know.
My first 4 flashes stuck at dell logo. The 5th time was successful

in this link there are two versions of QDL tools one which is around 40 mb(StreakFlash) and larger one(repairtool) which is around 190 mb. i initially used the smaller qdl tool to get the boot image fixed and later used the newer one to load 318 rom on to it. then i installed the 351 rom.
i details can be followed from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982906&page=2
in the middle of page 2 he fixes the issue saying "Eureka" and explains how he did it. there is PDF you can follow too which is i one of the links he provided.
Hope this helps. let me know if you have any issues.
Had same issue...
Flashed the 351 amss and dsp1
then flashed streakmod recovery
Then flashes 351 zip
After install complete I pulled battery in streakmod and then put it back in.. then it worked.
There is an issue with the 347 stock units. After flash or upgrade package the sd card read dies until you battery pull. You don't do a battery pull it will never work

Flashed the amss and dsp1, but when trying to flash in streakmod recovery, I am getting these errors:

why you trying to flash streakmod recovery as an update.zip?
get the streakmod recovery file and flash it with fastboot
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery streakmod_recovery_file_name.img
replace "streakmod_recovery_file_name.img" with whatever you have the recovery named as. (could be recovery.img or whatever you renamed it to) and make sure your in the correct directory in your command prompt/terminal
Hey good news...finally being able to flash to 351-345-318 using only the update.zip found at http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/
Streak fully restarts and is fully functional....But as soon as I try to use a recovery.img to update to an official pkg from Dell. My Streak just froze at the logo screen.
My question is what is the difference between the update.zip at streakdroid's website and the official pkg? Why I cannot install any official pkg while the update.zip works? Any ideas anyone?
I think I did a dumb thing....my streak is dead now...won't even start....I use fastboot and flash the img and mbn files in the 351 section (http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/351/) and now the phone won't even start. try this, first remove the battery and put it back. now holding volume up button power up the phone, even though its in blank screen connect it to the computer after 5 seconds, see if windows finds a device and tries to install a driver. if you can see this then your phone is not bricked. you can still try to recover it.
windows would not recognize it....I can't even charge the battery when I plug into the charger...no response. This happens when I flashed the files DT.img,boot.img,osbl.mb & so on, which are found in the link I wrote above.

Please god, Ive been stuck on this **** for 14 hours now. SOLUTION PLEASE!
I've experience rooting/roming over 50 phones, and this is getting irritating!
CWM doesnt flash .pkg's, and I'm coming in way to late in the process to understand this QueTip program or w-e. A simple stock recovery flash tutorial n link would be amazing.
this will happen too when you flash it over 2.2 already but in your case your on 16 ryt?i would suggest google search for the stock 1.6 6601 recovery image and flash it and then flash clockwork and then apply the update.
try to look here.

try here also.

whats your baseband prior to this update?
I suggest that you use streakdroid recovery to make a nandroid backup before you revert to the stock recovery,
Download stock recovery from here. Make sure it is on your computer in the same folder as fastboot.exe
Excerpted from this streakdroid guide:
Shut down your Streak, then hold down the camera button (all the way) as you turn it back on.
The screen should turn white; press ‘Fastboot’ in the top right hand of the screen.
Plug in the USB cable – the Streak should now display ‘FASTBOOT_MODE’ at the bottom of the screen.
Open a command window and use ‘cd’ to change to the same directory as qdltool.
Run: fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
Run: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
Either rename the file you downloaded to recovery.img or change the name of the file to flash in step 5 to match the file downloaded.
Boot into recovery and you should now have a stock recovery.
You can boot your phone and try downloading and installing the OTA upgrade or you can place the upgrade file on your SD card and name it upgrade.pkg and try to install it using the stock recovery.
I suggest that you use streakdroid recovery to make a nandroid backup before you revert to the stock recovery.
Make sure that any ROM you try to install on your phone is appropriate for your hardware and carrier.
I personally was on the 318 build of 2.2... Downgraded to O2 2.1, then to O2 1.6, then to AT&T 1.6 with the BB downgrade... then upgrade to AT&T 340 2.2, its not that hard... get to stock AT&T 1.6 and leave the 340 "update.pkg" in the root of the SD card.
Instructions to get to AT&T 1.6 here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8558692&postcount=4

If you are not on at&t's 1.6 than this is your only option. Also your only way to go back to the 1.6 is using essentially same steps as above. So just make sure fastboot is set up and follow the steps listed above. It will work regardless of os you are running now. I just did it and I was on dj steve's 1.8. On a side note how is the upgrade working for you?(those that installed it)

i have fastboot
Yeah my installation came up with an error and it would not boot after it was applied so previously posted stock recovery does not work. So what you have to do is follow the steps to go back to stock at&t 1.6 rom. Here are the directions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8558692&postcount=4
I am in a process of doing this now so i'll keep you posted. However, once you do the downgrade from the link above you should be able to just install latest at&t rom without any problems. Hope that helps.

hi
I have a streak and put the update on the sd root. I then hold volumes and power to get to recovery screen I choose second in the menue install update and it goes to clockwork 2.5 and that canot see the pkg file.
How do I get the mobile to use the file.
thanks for any help
Clockwork does not do pkg files, you need to install the recovery version that goes with the update.pkg file you want to install. This is done via fastboot. You will loose Clockwork recovery when you do this, but you can reinstall it after you do your rom upgrade.
The recovery files can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak#Official
Fastboot guide is in the forum somewhere if you need it.
Also you can go here http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/ download the update.zip of whatever build your attempting to flash, put that on your sd card, then in clockwork recovery, use the update with .zip option and it should do the same.
hi
thanks for the help
how do I know which update to use at present I have a muii 2.2.1
and would like to get it back to 2.2
regards
I think 318 (http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/318/) is the best 2.2 Retail Rom option otherwise 351 (http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/351/) for the latest 2.2.2 Retail Rom. I don't know what baseband you have or if the update.zip files install the required baseband when you flash it. If they don't you'll need the 00 baseband for the retail roms and that will require flashing the stock recovery first and running fastboot to install the baseband file (amss.mbn)
Zac
i have finally used an update zip and it loads fine but the screen says android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly is there something I have missed
thanks again
ok did a factory reset and it appears fine
Go back to recovery and do a Factory Reset from the first screen, not the one in Clockwork recovery. After that I would recommend going into the Clockwork recovery and clearing the Dalvik Cache and fixing permissions.
Zac
Hi
I have downloaded http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/354/update.zip and after that I power off the phone , hold down the Volume UP/DOWN button . Power on ...
And select the update.zip file....
Half way it stated that it FAIL ... and phone reboot ....
Did I do wrongly ?
The zip file could be corrupted. Maybe try re-downloading the file and retry.

have you named it "Update.pkg" or "update.pkg" coz the first will work and the second will not .
You will have to use capital U otherwise the phone will not recognise it
capitalization usually shoulnt matter, it works fine as 'update.pkg'

Try this link. If you click on the folder (baseband number) for the ROM you are interested in you may find an update.zip package. You can flash that with StreakMod Recovery. I would not suggest doing this to change a ROM, only to re-flash what you already have, if needed.

Are these .zips pre-rooted?
My Streak doesn't seem to like any custom ROMS. I can't get any stability, no matter what I try.
351 didn't flash via Streakmod recovery.
Do I need to flash the Dell recovery for 351 to go back?
The stock roms are not pre-rooted.
Read this: Radimus’s Universal Guide to Flashing a ROM
Best way to revert to stock 351:
Grab MultiRecovery Flasher
Download the 351 .pkg file from the Streak Wiki
Put the 351 .pkg file on the root of your Streak's external sd card and rename to update.pkg
Use MRF to flash the 351 recovery
Use MRF to reboot the phone
Do not let it reboot completely, as the phone starts to reboot hold both volume buttons to go directly into recovery
Select #2 to apply the 351 update.pkg
When it completes the install and the phone reboots you will be back to stock. If you want to root I recommend the superboot.zip method, and don't forget to install busybox and update the superuser bin and app files from the superuser app.
Make sure that your read and understand Radimus’s Universal Guide to Flashing a ROM. I also recommend reading this.
Edit: superuser.zip includes busybox.

just a small question here, what Baseband are you on? cuz what you're seemingly up to requires additional baseband flashing through Fastboot-commands or the MF flashing assistant mentioned earlier within the Development Area of Dell Streak at XDA.
Please do note that you're request could be moved towards another forum, due to the fact that it doesn't relate to any 'real' development, no offense, but it is what it is.

Yeah, I'm sorry. Perhaps the mods could move it to the Questions section.
I thought I posted it there. My mind is fried after spending two days on this.
Coming from stock 351 with stock baseband.
Tried to flash 1.9.1 via streakmod, now I got nothing but looping boot screens.
Tried a couple other custom ROMs too via streakmod, but nothing worked. Nothing.
Trying to flash back to stock. Now, I can get the stock 351 recovery on, but that's it.
The dell recovery sticks at a blank screen.
I'm about ready to chuck it. I've never been so frustrated by any flashing process in my life. HD2, Vibrant, Galaxy, you name it. They were all cake compared to the Streak.

The best way to get the baseband you need on the Streak is to flash the stock rom associated with that baseband. That makes sure that all of the OS parts that aren't replaced by StreakDroid or another custom ROM are in sync.
And yes, this thread should be in Q&A

If I can get into fastboot, then all hope is not lost, correct?
Is there a guide to flashing back to stock 2.2.2 anywhere that you know about?
So far, I had stock recovery, went to Streakmod recovery, then back to stock after my flashing didn't turn out well.
No offense to the chef's but I just can't seem to find a way to make any custom ROM work with my Streak.
I'd just love to be back where I started and any help would be greatly appreciated.
The searches I've done have turned up stock Donut re-flashes. I don't want that.
So rar, recovery for both Streakmod AND 351 hangs on a black screen after selecting "Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card" in the menu
No Dell Logo appears at all. I get a black screen (backlight on, just black). Since I get no logo, I'm not presented with the Recovery Menu
I'm burned out.

I think my Streak is a paperweight.
Once in recovery hit the power or camera button ...to pop up the menu
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Just to follow up on my own post.
The problem was caused by having a stray file named update.pkg in my sd card at root level.
This hosed everything, literally, so recovery was not an option under any circumstances, even though it was flashed. I still got a black screen at startup, no matter what... even when pressing the correct button sequence as noted. I just didn't get to the Dell logo where the camera button would get me recovery.
I had to use QDLTool3rd to reinstall EVERYTHING and then I could install Dell recovery and flash.
Now, I'm rooted and restoring from backup.
Thanks XDA!

You get in recovery mode as usual and replace them.
Recovery mode:
boot phone while holding volume up + volume down + power buttons.
The screen gets pink.
If you connect your phone via usb with your pc then you can access it as a storage device.
There are the files you might want to replace.
is this final or beta?
There is no final release yet. We will have to wait for that quite a while I think.

Hi Everyone,
I used these recovery files with B138 rom (stupid, i know - long story). Now, i can only get to pink screen state - can't even get to recovery mode. Everytime i switch the phone on, the Huawei logo appears briefly, then just goes off again - even when i try to enter recovery mode.
Will it help if i replace the recovery files with the ones intended for the B138 rom? If so, can anyone perhaps post a link to them?
I REALLY hope i didn't brick my phone!

Simply reinstall the rom. Create a dload at your sdcard and you know the rest.
Second option: search forum there were already boot.img recovery and other image folder files. Replace them while on pink screen and youre good to go.

Official GB is having this issue. It happened to me some times. Try upgrading your phone with Dzo's Aurora or downgrade again to 2.2.1. both will give your phone a life and stay away from GB (at least official)
I cannot root the phone. The phone is not opening any more. I can downgrade to Froyo but how i ll update to ICS from 2.2?
Is there any solution to upgrade to Ics from 2.2?

Hello,
today i wanted to update my *rooted* WAS-LX1 to B182, so i downloaded the update.zip and tried to flash it with FlashFire.
Then my phone booted in Error Mode. So i tried to boot in Fastboot mode, and it worked. So i flashed TWRP and now i want to install Stock firmware again, but i don't know which file i should flash. I've got 3 files called update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip.
I hope you can help me.

To update my rooted phone to B182 I had to download the full package (2.3gb, including update.zip and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip). I was not successfull in updating via TWRP. I updated via the official system menu so I don't know how exactly it was applied. According to other guides (http://www.stechguide.com/tag/was-lx1c432b182/ for example) it should be update.zip first and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip second, without a reboot. Let us know how it worked out...

Unfortunately it didn't work. The only thing i can do is boot in the TWRP recovery. Is there a way to flash the stock rom with fastboot?

I only tried flashing the update via sideload and recovery and it didn't work (http://rootmygalaxy.net/flash-ota-firmware-updates-using-adb-fastboot-commands/). Maybe you are lucky. Problem is, I'm quite new to this stuff, hopefully someone else can help out.
Can someone please provide us with a link for the stock recovery?

By the way, i solved the problem. I downloaded HuaweiUpdateExtractor for extracting the .img files from the update.app and i flashed them with fastboot.
Nice, congrats
