Starting May 8th until July 23rd Sprint is giving 300 bonus minutes to the Everything Data 450 plan making it the ED750 plan. What's even better is you don't lose the minutes ever as long as you remain on the plan. This is for new and existing customers.
Good for those that need a few more minutes.
SWAC, referral and Sero plans do no qualify.

Thanks for the info although I rarely ever come close to my 450 minutes. Is there anything we have to do or are the 300 minutes automatically added to our plans?
Never said it before but thanks for all the info you give us, it's good to have an insider.
P.S. Still working changing my upgrade to 6/1, they really don't want to change that. I'll be with them 10yrs on 10/15 so from a company perspective I don't really think it's such a big deal to change.

Ive been back and forth with them for almost 4 months just trying to get them to fix my data - and now they want me to call for 300 minutes? How about just crediting me what 300 minutes would cost at $0.45 each on my bill and we call it even!?

As a AAA member for 11 years I just called them regarding this - the discount is on plan add-ons. So for my EMP plus plan it doesn't apply as insurance is my only add on and it doesn't apply to insurance. But, if you have a standard voice plan with a text and data add on it would apply to the text and data add-ons.

I'm not sure what you mean by addons but it should apply to any voice line that is on a contract. So the only restriction is that it doesn't work for Even More Plus plans =\
I just called TMO about this and they said I would have to renew my contracts for my line and my wife's line (Family plan) for two years. Not sure that's worth it for me.

Yeah - for my EMP plan it's only add-ons since the regular plan is already at a "discounted rate". For standard plans under a 2yr contract it should work assuming they aren't already at a discounted rate (as explained by t-mo).

Wow...I pay $161/mo for 4 people. 1800 minutes/Unlimited Messaging/Fave 5 [no longer offered]/Two data plans/all phones have insurance. My mother and father-in-law pay me $40/mo each so my wife and myself pay around $80 for our phone service. She has a MyTouch and I have my N1.
I also might mention that I have unlimited messaging for families for $9.99/mo . This usually costs $35/mo. I got it on a promo about 4 years ago.
I just callled and got my AAA discount for my 1000 minute plan, Unlimited text, data, caller tunes, and insurance, 14% off and your bill changes to the 27th.
It can take up to sixty days for the discount to show on you bill.
I have a co-worker that ordered two droids via the Verizon website and he only paid 106 dollars after tax. He took ad vantage of a buy one get one free deal. Buts whats interesting is that they gave him an additional hundred dollars off the price for no known reason. A Total price of 106 and he got two excellent phones.

Of course you could argue that, but good luck winning that argument. It's a good thing they're still the cheapest around for what they offer.
bah, that article doesnt know anything about Sprint. SERO on the EPIC or EVO is till only $50/month for 500 minutes land line, everything else unlimited. No idea why that articles claims the minium smart phone price tag is now $79 at sprint.
Almost none of their customers are paying that.. heres some options:
1) Sero $50/month
2) hundreds of company discounts, ranging from 10% to 20% = $50-$65/month
3) family plans, per phone price ends up $25 to $60/month
4) EERP $70 + sign up with VP marketing discount, -$10 which is available to the public = $60/month
5) Virgin mobile, owned by sprint, 300 anytime to land line, unlimited everything else $25/month)
6) Boost mobile, owned by sprint (averaging $40 to $60/month)
In summary, Sprints average smart phone user is not paying anywhere close to $79/month, probably closer to $60 and that's for the highest end devices.

The problem with that is that the word soon is very subjective. What we consider to be soon may be different than what Sprint/Sammy considers to be soon.

Only if you activate or buy a new phone with sprint outside of the contract you already signed will you have to pay the $10 fee on top of the regular charge for true Unlimited Data. So if you have 5 phones which are all smart phones and 4 of them are Intercepts, and 1 is a Epic, you will not have to pay the extra $10x4 a month, cause you have already signed a contract stating your conditions. If you are already paying the fee, then nothing will change.

Yeah... no. Hell I don't even think the phone has ever actually been advertised as "2.2 Coming Soon!" Remember, "the guy at the Sprint store told me that 2.2 would be out in a week!" doesn't count as advertisement and is, in no way, shape, or form legally binding. They could probably never get 2.2 out the door and not have breached any agreements.
My favorite things about this change?
1) Those morons who decided to go after Sprint for that "unjust, completely hidden charge that they never agreed to" that was clearly explained to them 100 times and clearly outlined in the contract that they signed for the phone they could have not chosen might as well just forfeit that little case of theirs.
2) Since we already pay the $10 fee, this in no way affects us.
3) Now I get to watch a bunch of idiots run around saying "WTF? People other than us are getting charged an extra 10 dollars? I'm going to Verizon to pay $20 more a month just to show those evil-doers! To hell with the fact that this in no way affects me!"
just something else for people to ***** about. Sprint is the best bet for techies b/c you have unlimited data. not 2gb cap or whatever else those other companies are offering. Hell im sure everyone has seen tmobile uk now has a 500mb cap...thats super gimp
I love it. I've had it since November and it's been great...Except that extra $10 I pay at the end of the month for a service I don't use, 4G.
I <3 my Evo 3G....
Will Sprint EVER come with a Premium Android phone or eventually drop the 4G cost?
That $10 fee is just going to become standard. If it hasn't already. For all 3G phones as well. 'Premiuim data / unlimited data' fee. You can sleep easy now ... or then.

Go to any other major provider and I guarentee you will pay more then $10 for their plan + data.
Be happy Sprint isn't att.
I am. Completely. I even came from a Sero plan to the new Sero Premium. It's not the service or the fees, indirectly, that I'm staying for, but the apps that Android has. I could easily switch to the HTC Arrive but I LOVE Google Nav. The same can be said about the Palm Pre 3.
Just sign up for the credit union discount depending on your plan it will nearly or totally offset the $10.

If it applies to smartphone users, and you seriously use more than 10gb/mo:
A) Verizon has no plan for you.
B) you are less than 1/10 of 1% of Sprint's data consumers and they will NOT miss you.
What will be the prices and limits for Verizon's tiered plan.

When I think of Sprint, the first thought that comes to mind is CEO Dan Hesse standing on a pier talking about being truly unlimited. I’m sure that he really does like the idea of being truly unlimited… but only when phones are concerned. You see, Sprint is reportedly going to take a different stance when it comes to data connection cards and embedded devices, such as tablets and netbooks.

My current phone data plan costs $80 a month for unlimited, and I only use a couple hundred megs a month at most. If I could drop that by almost $50 as a result of my being a light user, I'd love it.
I forgot where I saw an article about it, maybe it was for AT&T/iPhone, but the notion of variable rate based on your use seems like a good idea to me. Start out at a base (that $35/mo for 3gb isn't too bad) that notches up when you cross a line, and becomes more bulk friendly as you go, and every month it resets to the base. If I went really heavy on data usage for a month, my bill would be at that $80 unlimited point, but if I went sparingly I'd only get charged $35 for under 3gb, or maybe $55 for 8gb before hitting the 'unlimited' mark at say 10gb.
My phone is a tool, a convenience to make my life better in some minor form. It does not make me who I am as a person, and it would be nice to have that reflected in my wallet as a result.
Yes this only goes for non-phone devices. Only affects things like tablets, usb modems, etc. The article 2 posts above clarifies and even shows a graph for detail.
Note that the 450 plan will get 300 bonus minutes, so it is essentially 750 minutes, plus unlimited data for your phone.
EDIT: You get 300 bonus minutes if you get a tab, usb modem, etc. and one of the new tiered data plans.
2nd EDIT: It seems it would be cheaper and do it legit and only pay $30/month on Sprint's mobile hotspot for your phone (and get UNLIMITED DATA that way) instead of paying $34.99 for even the 3GB plan, since these new plans for the non-phone devices requires you to sign up for a phone plan anyways.
So today I got a great surprise that Verizon is upgrading my data to the 6gb plan instead of the 2 GB plan. I came from the unlimited data plan with my S3 and when checking my bill today online I noticed that I didn't actually have 2 GB of data I only had 1.29 and I was over my limit!!!!! As you can imagine I was pissed and called Verizon right away. The customer service representative told me that I should have been automatically enrolled in the 6gb data plan for 30$ a month same price as my unlimited data plan. She said it is part of the Max program. I am sharing this experience with all of you to tell you that if you are coming from an unlimited data plan and just upgraded you should call Verizon and figure out if you are eligible for this program.
Good luck everyone and I hope everyone gets more data for less.

I received a text asking if I wanted to double my data for free. All I had to do was reply yes, and it was done.
They offered to drop my bill $20/month. Took about 5 minutes on the phone.
I guess because I got the phone in the middle of the month they prorated my data usage; tomorrow is a new month for me so I will now have 6 GB instead of a prorated 2 or 1.29.

Yea, We got upped from 6gig to 10 gig for the same price. that coupled with the 25$ off per edge line isnt a bad gig.
they upgraded me from 3gb to 6 for the same price since i was supposed to get a free gb for the next 2 years since i pre-ordered it. i had to call 3 times to see where it was, and on the 3rd time, they gave me this and its better than a free gb for 2 years anyway

I don't get why so many people give up their unlimited data when there are simple loopholes to keep the plan and still get subsidized upgrades. But once it's gone it's gone.....

I was going to reply with how he got more data after getting rid of unlimited. But it seemed snarky. Maybe this is one of the few that never used more than 6gb a month anyways.
They'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands first before willingly giving this up..some people are insane...
Wow, I haven't seen unlimited data since years ago when sprint had their big unlimited everything plan they started.
I hope the government eats them all up in their lawsuit about unlimited.

Sprint still has unlimted data plans. They are the last of the big 4 carriers to offer unlimited data ( I don't count T-Mobile since they throttle after 4gb).
Also Verizon dropped their throttling plans for people with Unlimited Data. So there will be no law suite. .. well atleast for now.

I'm still on Alltel Unlimited and Verizon tried to throttle until I told them to read my Alltel contract

I find it difficult to not post this when people talk about data usage. Yes, I may be the reason(at least one of) Verizon want's to kill unlimited data.

Holy bat outta hell. Thats higher that what i normally hit even on my seedbox. Do you host your own seedbox or something on your pho e or computer to tether that much data?

Though rooted with unlocked tethering, I wanted to keep it as pure of a test as possible. I don't have a tethering subscription, and didn't want to give Verizon a reason to claim I was in violation of the TOS. That was direct to the phone (or to the External SdCard, rather) from Google Drive. At first I was surprised that Verizon didn't flat shut me off.....as I approached 7 TB, I was kinda surprised Google didn't. lol This was done just after Verizon went around saying they were going to start throttling unlimited data customers (only to change their mind later-thanks FCC). I figured it may be my last opportunity to do something like this. I don't normally top more than around 5-6 GB's/mo, but knew that given the available bandwidth, monthly allowances can "easily" be exceeded. I set out to see just how much data I could use in a month. When I broke a terabyte in just over 4 days, I knew the total was going to be ridiculous.
