Does anybody know how I can fix this. I have tried and tried with no success. I have scoured google finding nothing that works. I get this error when I set up a new project...I didnt even touch the project yet...every new project starts of and is created with this error. I would really like to get back to my work!!!! Thanks in advance!

did you import something recently??? check your import at the top of the java file.. remove all imported "R's" that do not belong in the same package, then click "Project" and select "Clean"..
I had MAJOR problems with this and Eclipse. Cleaned project, deleted gen folder, re-started program multiple times and it was still happening. Started to effect my productivity.
Switched to Intellij Idea and have not had one problem with this.

Ive seen alot of people have been using Eclipse and ive always thought that IntelliJ is a far better and integrated IDE. the code complete and all the refactoring is amazing.

its a known issue with Eclipse.
when you get the error message, just go to the top of your project hierarchy, right click and choose refresh.
this generally works for me.
another way to deal with this issue is to go get the R.java file (which believe me ITS THERE) and delete manually. then rebuild.

Thanks everyone! The error is there for brand new projects, just created, nothing done to them at all. My android development has been severely crippled due to this....nothing found on google works for me, deleting the R.java file wont work, freshly reinstalling everything wont work, refreshing, rebuilding and anything else suggested has not worked....my heart is broken.....
Have your tried more then one version of eclipse? Have you checked your java installation? Path environment variable? Reinstalled android sdk and adt plugin?

I have reinstalled the sdk...twice. Still same results, however I havent tried other versions of eclipse...I will try this route, thank you!
You'll miss a couple of things in Eclipse vs Intellij Community, but it's FREE and you'll never be troubled by the R.java problem again. Takes a day or 2 to get used to their color coding and code completion, but you'll soon appreciate the time spent. NOTE: I have no affiliation with the company
One thing I really miss in Intellij (or haven't found it) is hovering over or clicking a method and getting shown all the parameters and overloaded methods available.

Thanks, I will try this when I get off work!! I love android development and haven't been able to do anything for weeks because of this. Is Intellij better then NetBeans?
Never tried NetBeans...didn't like the name. But, that's just me
Yeah, I don't know what the issue is with Eclipse..I've done all the steps indicated in this thread and even have wiped-out complete xml files and re-typed them in. It was still happening and I just couldn't handle it anymore.

Hey...you have given me the best solution I could hope to find! Thanks!! Your right or will take a boy to get used yo the colors but this is it! Eclipse has been blocked out by an Intellij Idea!!! Thanks again and again....I scoured Google with no results! Thanks for showing me the light!!!!

It's not that hard to find it. I wish they used image files like .bmp or .jpg for the skins so we could at least reskin it to make it like the newer generation iPods.
I got it years ago, but there are a few things which could be improved: the skinning, setting a default music folder, D-Pad action button support, ... (all of this is of course my own personal wish list!)
Hope theres someone who knows a bit about how to do this stuff (and maybe more...)

Because of 2 reasons.
1) It's ugly as hell.
2) It doesn't have the scroll wheel function like the actual program does.
pPod is still easy to find for download. I found it about a week ago.

no source code still, I've been trying to start something from scratch but for the life of me I can't figure out how to play an mp3 on the mobile platform (first time programming mobile). It's embarrassing, can't even find any example source code that works.
Easy "Cube" in stall in two CAB's....no flash-lite needed. No confiration needed.
I added the configuration cab in just incase you want to mod it.. but its not necessary.
This put a whole bunch of bs on my phone I can't get rid of. Looks like I'm gonna have to hard reset.

A simple " Didn't work out too well on my device. I will explain what happened..." would have sufficed. This way we can all learn and maybe together figure out what went wrong. Maybe it was operator error?
Please be considerate towards the time and work it takes others to develop, test, implement and share these mods as those who have the create spark do not have to. You CHOSE to load this app and as I see it, everything here is shared & loaded on a "At your own risk". I have had a 101:1 ratio of good to bad so...
Now could you explain what happened on your device when you attempted to install?
It said the program couldn't be loaded and then when I removed it left a whole lot of folders in my windows folder that can't be deleted.

It works great. I have it installed with the ftouchFLo 1.4.1 release I have no problems. it is great.
Has anyone figured out how to get the titan running windows mobile 6.0+ to automatically update the time when you cross timezones. I've done extensive thread searching but couldn't find much that helped. One thread suggested a cab file which would basically change a reg setting that would enable an option to show up in the clock & menu that would enable you to set auto update option for timezone changes. Of course it didn't work.
The other way I read about was changing something in the settings menu( I think it was something in the phone menu). It didn't work either.
So I find it hard to believe that we have all these brilliant programmers here and still no one can figure this out. If anyone has figured this out.. please tell me pleeaseee.

Yes please someone help. I think NexVision had it figured out. When I ran his iPhone ROM my phone autoupdated the time!!!

I downloaded the latest version of the Gmail client to my phone and installed it - which went fine.
When I run it, I get java.lang.error message and it fails to load. I see other people have had this error too, but no one has a solution that I have seen as yet (aside from reverting to the older version, which is more of a workaround than a solution)
Anybody else solved (or had) this problem?

Unfortunately it seems fairly common, and no particular fix for it. its cross-platform

looks like a problem with the Jar file that gets downloaded I grabbed the JAR direct from
http://gmail.com/app/v2.0.6/L1/gmail-g.jar and it works perfectly!
tried the work around. works for me too.
Sorry for being a noob about this, this is my first WinMob device. So i got the jar, when i try to install it its asks for the URL or the "midlet"?

it shouldnt do that, are you using the jar file I linked to?
It should just compile and run.
If you do
Start Java, then menu>install>local files> the name of the Jar

Problem is now I have two in my Programs. One works fine but the other comes up with the same error. Neither shows up in Remove Programs. How do I get rid of the one that doesn't work?

start Java-menu-actions-uninstall
choose google mail rather than gmail to remove (I think).

i just came accross this awsome OS for Windoes mobiles i have a O2 stealth and it works perfectly on my phone just some times it crashes and is lil unresponsive at times but i dont know if we can develop it or no

Wow, this is very cool!!
I got this to work on my Touch Pro. To run it click on the simpleos.exe once you unzip it. It took a few times to get it running with a few crashes, but now it boots everytime np. Once it boots, click only in the password box and it should boot right up. It crashes if you click anywhere else. Actually this software is very very cool. Very stable once you get it to boot. Not very finger friendly though. Almost seems like development has stopped, which is too bad.
Also notice there are multiple desktops with widgets ect. You can access from the shortcuts in the upper right corner. Unfortunately on the 3rd desktop it crashed.

I think it looks great to be completely honest. Maybe if someone were to develop on it, it might be a more feasable option than using the standard windows 6.0/.1 interface until 6.5 becomes a bit more stable.
Are there any developers out there that would be interested in continuing this project? I think its has great potential.
