Bootloader freeze - Desire HD General

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my bootloader.
Tried to downgrade my DHD (it's on 1.75.111.2 - Telekom-Branding) to get root.
So I created a goldcard etc. No problems.
Then tried to open the bootloader. It opens, but nothing happens. I can't even move the selection. I have to take out the battery.
Tried it again from the start, but still the same...
Tried it with other SD-cards (empty ones and goldcards), but it's everytime the same: SD-card -> freeze, no SD -> no freeze
Can anyone help me?
Regards
Eneco

When I opened the bootloader, it'll freeze , maybe a minute, then it'll show that it scans your SD card for specific files, if it finds a file with the specific name it'll ask you to install it. How long did you wait before pulling your battery?

I tried waiting up to 30 minutes, but nothing happens...

Android Flasher 1.6.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
follow these guides to the letter and you will be fine... there is also another tool called "Android Flasher 1.6.1" you that saves you from all adb commands if you dont knw them..with it u can change ur splash screen, recovery, radio,bootanimation... also when everything is done.. do a full wipe(full wipe deletes everything on the phone except recovery and boot and radio ofcourse.. and EASY FULL WIPE dnt delete ur data but delete everything else so only full wipe is needed in this case) before installing a custom rom. DO EVERYTHING AS IN THE SEQUENCE OF THE LINKS I HAVE GIVEN YOU.. links are all above.. oh btw the zip attachment u need to unzip it and u will find another 2 .zip files.. u just place those in ur sdcard goto bootloader then recover.. install zip from card.. and then click on the one you want... got luck

Thanks for your efford, but I think you didn't get my problem right...
I can't downgrade because everytime I go into the bootloader with a SD-card in my device, the bootloader will freeze... I can't even use the bootloader with a formatted card inserted

nothing happens when you move ur volume keys up and down and press power button for selection ?

Format your SD to FAT32 using full format, no quick format. Then try again. You should do that to a few cards.

Yes, same card. But it even freezes when there's no rom on it...
Searched for it on google and other boards, but found noone with the same problem.
Maybe I have to try to call the support, but then I have to explain how i found out that it doesn't work...

Maybe you could flash a RUU, maybe it'll update your bootloader or something. I don't know if it'll work, but it couldn't hurt by trying.

Tried that today, but can't flash with RUU. Also tried with goldcard inserted and those adb-commands from downgrade-thread before executing a RUU, but it only goes until "actualising signature" (or something like that, i have a german version) and than it won't proceed

ok, took me some time to upload it because of my crappy internet bandwith...
First of all i remade the goldcard (full format, hex-editor-steps...), than i used the adb-commands from downgrade-thread, that's the reason there's no actual version displayed, but i get the same result without those, than i executed the RUU (1.39.111.1, tried 1.32.405.3 too, but couldn't find my recent version, think that's the main problem while updating with RUU).
On my DHD there's a black screen with HTC on it the whole time...
Here's the video of the RUU-update. Tried to translate those steps...
Will upload videos of goldcard-creation, downgrade-steps and bootloader-freeze too, if you want to see those
//Edit: It seems that I can't add the video directly, so here's the link

what program are you using there for adb commands?
also do you make the gold card with MMC2?
have you tried another card?

I'm using standard Windows command prompt (cmd),
took the mmc2
and tried several other cards, even some that worked for my friends

We got at least one other DHD with that symptoms: http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-ha...me-down-im-bootloader-funktioniert-nicht.html
Both DHDs have a T-Mobile branding (1.75) - maybe T-Mobile or HTC changed something on the bootloader
Maybe manually flashing the bootloader is an option, don't know right now if that's possible with S-On

which tool are u using ? cuz i never used that tooll ur using in the video

URGENT MAJOR HELP REQUIRED *PLEASE*:
I am stuck on DFT boot screen (after doing 1234-vol up_down-wp7-reset) and this is *after* (wp7 here !) all the chains b4 that are done: ie: power on, hspl, htc, magldr- for windows phone 7 on hd2. Sometimes get thru to windows phone 7. but generally reboots. Done spl back to stock and leoimg on sd back to stock and tried task28s, 29s, etc but just reboots constantly and randomly.
Any thoughts here? What is warranty process? DO they replace at all with NEW? or new BOARDS/RAM? Gone back to 1.66 spl and sent in for repairs. because - the stupid recommended Romupdateutility HTC stock rom 'upgrade' did this damage. yes, was Windows Phone 7 and activated using dev hack with marketplace & xbox/live. Also - although I activate ok and can use it on market fine once it boots good - still when both my hd7 (hd2) and Mozart are signed into XboxLive using same address at same time: (mozart is legit fully/eula-signed etc) then the hd2 seems to reset a LOT here at this point. maybe this has something to do with usual xbox-live security? ie: http://www.wpcentral.com/hack-xbox-live-windows-phone-7-get-perma-banned-microsoft ?????????? please hlp me - I am fully capable of mtty, sd-leoimg, whatever it takes- but need to know why this would be the case? same with Android roms/stock too. Anyone know about task2a on hd2? how many bad blocks I should have? partition/re-partition droid or wp7 to avoid these bad blocks? I just WISH Cotulla/DFT let you run the windows phone 7 installer in such a way that all bad bloks could be excluded totally as if the never exist... ie make hd2 clean.

[Q] [HELP] I did RTFM and still have a problem !!

Hi,
Check out my bootloader screen, this doesnt look ok to me
Tried loading severel older radio's / rom's they all fail after 1, 4 or 19 % with the second error included as a jpg!
Can someone help me fix my 2nd HTC HD2 ?
TIA
Most recently, there seem to be quite a few people having issues with defective bootloaders. Somewhere in another thread, some guys actually were able to bring back the correct SPL with this method:
1. Took out the battery for about 30 seconds.
2. Put one of the LEOIMG.NBH on storage card
3. After putting the battery held the volume down button and pressed power button.
4. It went into HSPL mode straight away and started loading the win 6.5 OS.
Click to collapse
The key difference and important point is to take out the battery, keep it out for a while, and pushing the bootloader buttons while re-inserting the battery (yes, can be a little tricky).
The LEOIMG.NBH should be a ROM which is made for your device, eg. the stock ROM which was original on your device when it was brand new. If you´ve got a Leo1024 (US device), please make sure twice you´ve got a correct ROM. A wrong Radio ROM can completely brick your device, only professionals could fix that.
In case you don´t know where to get the leoimg.nbh file: Download the stock ROM for your device, decompress the RUU.exe file with WinRar (or a similar program), rename the nbh file which you´ll find in the decompressed files to leoimg.nbh, there you go.
The SD card should be freshly formatted FAT32.
Hope it works that way...
Thanks, havent tried it with the battery out for longer then 3 seconds. When i put a stock rom on the sd it just says loading, then checking and then it boots back to the bootloader!!! Gonna try it again but keep the battery out longer.

Just some questions.
- Witch SD-Card do you used? a 2GB SD-card is preferable. (And be format by FAT32.)
- Witch Stock Rom did you use?? Did you download it from the HTC webpage by using your S/N?
- And I don't know if you know it, but you need to rename the RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh.
1GB
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_NLD_3.14.404.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
And i renamed it
It says loading, then instead of giving the screen with all the options that you see in the youtube video it says checking and on top it shows the following numbers 00058002

Just to be sure; your device is a Dutch version? and you downloaded the stock ROM by using Your S/N? (this is important)
On the HTC website there are 3 rom's to be downloaded.
1 = Vodafone and my sn doesnt allow me to use that one.
2 = My SN allows me to download this one and is from 02-02-2010:
RUU_Leo_HTC_NLD_1.66.404.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe

hmm, for the moment I don't see a direct solution.
But just a question; how was this issue created/started?
I mean when did this problem become, what did you do?
I wanted to put android on my daughters hd2, i started working with this newb guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Step 1 finished well i think:
1. YOU NEED A RADIO WHICH SUPPORTS 576 RAM (2.08.50 or later should be fine but the Radio NEEDS to be 2.**.50.**). I recommed the 2.15.50.14 Radio *HERE*
Then i did the HRDSPL bit and it showed we hacked it, then i did the magldr shizzle and it got screwed!
This is the screen is get btw!
Cant believe that this is it? I can toss the phone away now? Anyone?
This might be alil' stupid, but have you tried Task29 ?
P.S: Your tags to the thread are ~~~> xD !!
Thanks but i tried that, ClydeB1 gave me the a tip to try and will do so in 8 hours from now

Before goldcarding,
Since your bootloader is corrupted, you can try SSPL?
Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose. (Except to completely brick your phone )

It's obvious your phone is not rooted. Try flashing an RUU.
1: Visit here:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Buzz
2: Get any Eclair RUU,
RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.37.405.1_Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe
(I am assuming your phone was not operator locked / branded)
3: Connect your Wildfire to your PC, and, run the EXE file. (Note: Make sure the EXE file downloads fully. It is approx 130 MB in size)
4: Let the process complete (Takes ~15 minutes)
If it is successful, check whether the phone starts up properly or not. If it still doesn't, return it to you dealer and claim your warranty.

Is your phone an operator branded one?
Anyway, to solve that, you will need to create a goldcard. Guide here:
http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
But remember, if your phone is branded, this will remove their ROM and add a stock HTC WWE (Worldwide English) one, probably voiding the warranty if there is no RUU for your carrier.
problem solved i flash with same version..

Moved thread to general as it is not about android development

Is this called Bricked?

Just got a new phone, worked fine, put in my sim and sd, all was working perfect, then I went to music selection and it saw my songs on my sd card, i started playing one, the phone froze and just played the last note like its stuck on it, all buttons would not work.
I took off the battery put it back on now when i power up it just sits on the white and purple screen that says " stick together" the tmoblie logo, and wont move from there.
Removed battery a few times same thing, pressed the little hard boot button same thing.
Any advice?
thank you in advance.
The "little button" is the same as pulling the battery.....a soft reset.
You should try a hard reset, and failing that a fresh flash.

Been using the stock ROM on my old phone for a while never had any one of the many problems that ppl have listed on this forum, but I cracked the screen and got a new one, and just ran into that problem.
Took the battery off and let it sit for a few, put it back in and now it loads and works, just odd, how that happen, haven't put my card back in yet but well test again hopefully it wont do it again.

No using a diff 16 gig sd card, and even when i take it out it still does it,
The problem with the custom roms, I dont like how most of them look and dont want to spend all the time installing diff ones to see if I like it or not, dont have the knowledge or the time for it.
I am fine with the standard HTC sense, just want to figure out why this one keeps crashing on load, what the conflict is.

I am fine with the standard HTC sense, just want to figure out why this one keeps crashing on load, what the conflict is.

maybe u can download the TMobile HD2 rom from their website. you need to put in your IMEI to download. after that, from what i did with my tmous before, was enter bootloader then run the utility and it should work perfectly.
if it still doesn't boot up then im suspecting a hardware issue?

wrong radio rom flashed?

Just got a new phone, worked fine, put in my sim and sd, all was working perfect, then I went to music selection and it saw my songs on my sd card, i started playing one, the phone froze and just played the last note like its stuck on it, all buttons would not work.
I took off the battery put it back on now when i power up it just sits on the white and purple screen that says " stick together" the tmoblie logo, and wont move from there.
Removed battery a few times same thing, pressed the little hard boot button same thing.
Any advice?
thank you in advance.

Bricked is when you flash the wrong radio, like I did, and your power button will not work. Phone will not power up at all.

[Q] HTC WildFire A3335 Qustion

I have a basic question,
I'm only asking because there's far too much
information available,
on here
and its not easy to find what best fits my
needs.
I have an unlocked A3335 wildfire ( Telstra NextG network 3g version), I'm using it on optus,
my boyfriend was useing it he dowloaded a
font change app for the phone,
but when he did it my phone went in to
bootloop mode.and keep't bootlooping again
and again
all i get is the start up screen,
with yes you guessed it
(Telstra NextG network 3g crap)
All I want to do is try and get my phone from
this bootloop mode and try and recover...
my phone back to how it was.
Its hard to explain,
ok when i go in to the boot screen
i have this on my phone
BUZZ PVT SHIP S- Off
HBOOT-1.01.0002
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab
RADIO-3.35.20.10
DEC 27 2010,
17:49:10
and it reads the sd card,
it said the Boot Image. is missing
dont know why a app would take this out
but this is what happen
So Now when i did the fastboot on my phone
it done nothing,
then did the clear storge.
then i did the recovery
it rebooted to a black screen with A
triangle shape with one of these things
! in the middle of it,
but still stuck
I can follow the regular guides for rooting,
can any one help me to get my phone back to
how it was please
And I really don't care about this part much,
but would be nice to have it off the phone
and remove all the telstra junk and restore
the phone back to how HTC would ship it,
(all the junk apps they include could easily be optionally installed from marketplace if you want their crap...)
(obviously I'm in Australia also)
There are so many ROMS and options available,
including the ones from shipped roms
(it wont let me post the link because I'm new).
I just want my phone back to how i got it,
can any one help me please....
please send me a private messages,
with a step by step guide to do so thanks..
Since you are s-off u can use fastboot flash from windows to flash a clockwork mod recovery. After you do that, every thing will be simple. Just download a rom in zip format, put it to sd go to recovery( just do what you have done to see the triangle in blackscreen. Note that if u flash cwm you will no longer see that triangle). Then use your volume down button to reach install zip from SD card. Hit it with joystick press. Choose zip. Install it. Just do a data- factory resetting before you install zip.
I prefer cyanogen mod 7. U may use latest stable or nightly build. Feel free to post any doubt you have. We are happy to help you.

nope that gold card image will send to ur email..and u need to copy that gold card image to ur sd card...
Well if the hboot is 1.01.0002 with S-OFF then it must be done using xtc clip. So fastboot flashing shouldn't be working. And u don't need a gold card for S-OFF wildfire .
I would just suggest to flash a stock froyo WWE RUU which also removes the carrier bloatware. If ruu proccess gives errors u can copy the romzip from that ruu and use it with pc49img process from hboot menu. And ofcourse fat32 memory card is must for pc49img process

Hey can you explain what happened now? You said that yours is working now before 2 days. ( in second last post). So what happened now? What have you tried with your phone?
And...
So the gold card question, let me explain.
Gold card is just a patch tool, with the help of which you can unlock HTC boot loader , or in detail, you can unlock HTC 's boot loader protection(that's what we call as s-off) , which is commenly locked( that's we call as s-on) , for a user mode phone( a phone that is for sale to normal user), and it is done so because a normal user never need a root permission, over clocking etc. Also user defined kernal, rom, radio updates unless HTC provide them with updates.( and of cource to protect their device and its custom os made by HTC.
So being an s-off device, we can say in simple, unleash the potential of android.( that's what i said, make the device yours and not HTC 's).
And s-off. In can be done using many ways, find them in topic " complete wildfire index " , one of which is using goldcard method. It is also explained in topic/ stickies " downgrade hboot to xxxx". You can download an attached file called buzz downgrade from that topic, and its what you all need.
And about ruu flashing, i think its not a safe one for you, Coz your phone is a3335? Right? If so, original ruu flashing may cause problems with network( called as radio problems), so you can use custom/ safe ruu, instead. Which contains no radio image, check " complete wildfire index" else go for custom os like cm7.
But before all you should mention what you need.
1) r u trying to put custom os, or do you need original os?
2) do you want your phone to be a true android gadget, or just normal phone which is provided by HTC?
3) what kind of user r u? Normal user or a tech junky?
4) r u satisfied with android 2.2 or need 2.3?
Get us the answers, along with your current boot menu( where you find recovery option) details. So that we can help you properly.
That's all dude. Its 2.30 am here in India, so i should wish myself a good night, swtdrmz. Cu ltr.

Oops. Completely missed that point, sorry.
But since the phone is S-OFF one can just flash the system.img and boot.img alone from wwe ruu to remove the carrier bloat and to continue on the HTC stock rom (only if u wish to). Same pc49img process here but with only system.img and boot.img along with android-info.txt .

now im lost where do i fine the right one to use do you know how many there are out there this phone is doing my head in i try to flash the system.img and the boot.img and a stock rom and still nothing im ready to give up to be honest
Have you installed clockwork mod recovery? If not do it first. Use fastboot flash from windows or linux, then download latest cyanogen mod nightly and put it in your sd. Then use install zip option from cwm recovery to install cm7. Done. Its what you want. No radio harm will be done unless you flash a radio using any methods.
All info will be available on thread" complete wild fire index" in this forum. Tools, recovery, how to, rom, and every thing else are available in that thread.

No expert but looks like you have an empty sdcard and system.I think you need to get a rom onto your sdcard (cm7 good choice) and then through recovery apply the rom. Zip and reboot after. DONT DO A WIPE.the telestra screen is just a splash screen which will always load before the system searches for data to load, next would be boot loading screen but yours by the looks and sounds of things does not achieve!! Probably cos its not present due to not having a rom installed.hope I helped if not best of luck. Members are very helpful here and cos you can access hboot I am 99% sure this will be fixed for you. Regards Slymobi.

i have a rom on my sd card but the thing keeps saying FAILED? NO SUCH FILE FOUND ?
Download this: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...5.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe
Enter HBOOT.
Wait until it finishes trying to load a zip file.
Choose FASTBOOT to enter FASTBOOT USB mode.
Run the downloaded file.
It should then install the original HTC rom.
Or maybe try PC49IMG method if you haven't already?
On your PC click start and type in the search box %temp%,
Keep your eye on this folder and doubleclick your ruu, a new folder should appear in temp folder,
Open it and search for rom.zip,
Copy it to your desktop and rename it to PC49IMG.zip then copy to your SD card and boot into hboot, it should find the zip and install.

@scratches post. I couldn't remember the method but that's exactly how I got my ruu to install so I could revolutionize.
