You must do a Phone reset first with an SD card inside.
Go to Settings / About Phone and then reset your phone with an SD card inside ..
Be a ware that any data in the sd card will be gone...
Then after reset setup your phone and you will be OK.
By the way i use the same rom without any probs

There are two different ones and both are safe for the HD2. One will erase your radio (task 29 w/mitty-also requires you to intall pc drivers) the other (task 29 w/o mitty) doesn't need drivers or and wont remove the already installed radio. Below is a link to the task 29 w/o mitty which wont touch your already installed raido and the second link is to a video tutorial on how to preform task 29. FYI Remove both the sim and sd card before tasking it.
Task 29 w/o mitty by doloop (wont delete raido)

I tried to use Task29 and...
I tried to use Task29 and the screen of the TP2 says: " STICK TOGETHER"
That means that I have to start saving to get me another phone or is there any hope to fix my beloved phone, thanks!!!!
I've been an active member ( I read a lot),but somehow I made a fatal mistake and my phone's screen says "stick together"; I tried to press the soft keys and power button at the same time, and nothing happens!! Any help is appreciated!!!!

You need to get the TP2 into bootloader mode and flash a new rom from there.
Here's a link on how to get the phone into bootloader mode. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=97778

Did you use the task 29 for the HD2 on a TP2?
so basically task 29 lets you delete the previous ROM, then you can load any ROM on to the device? i need a warranty claim so im trying to get rid of this custom ROM and i need the stock ROM, please help guys please
Will doing a Task 29 allow the phone from Windows to boot faster? Just asking cuz most of the time my phone will get stuck on "Stick Together" while booting unless I pull the battery out and leave it out for about 10 minutes before rebooting.
Thanks

No. Task 29 is a method of deleting all data on your phone.
Also, it sounds like you have some issues with either your battery or the battery connectors.
cant sync to pc
Ive installed hard 2.08 hspl4, magldr 1.13 , flashed via sd two different roms a desire DL and an miui rom that actually seemed to work once i got it booted but wouldnt re-boot...
ive re-formatted my sd card and am now stuck in magldr land... would like to do a task 29 or flash back to an official wm 6.5 rom but cannot get ANY roms to boot... even the miui or the desire which i had managed to get loaded previously.. magldr sticks on the go go go! screen
so my question is at this point is there anyway to reset the internal memory or any recovery method?
My guess is if i cant get a rom to boot i'll never sync which means i cant get back to the official rom in order to start from scratch.. im sure at this point the internal memory is in need of cleaning... any help would be greatly appriciated as ive been reading for days..

When you do a task29 it erases everything on the HD2 except the Radio and the HSPL.. so once you d the tas29 you have to either put magldr again and flash WP7/Android or after the task29 flash a wm6.5 rom from the boot loader
theres no recovery method for a task29
MAGLDR doesn't work with wm6.5
finally got a nand rom on via usb flasher ( magldr 1.13) but it will not reboot. ive set it through the bootloader to boot from nand and then went to the "always" menu selcted no and then reset. it will boot if i take out the battery and wait for 10 minutes then put it back in but once im up with the rom running .. which works great btw... (stock desire rom DFT) i cannot turn the phone off and then back on .. it will stick on the magdlr screen with no menu...
so i have the rom up at this point and im trying to do a task 29.. ive installed several roms and would like to clean the internal memory .. but when i sync with htc sync and try to run the task 29 exe i get a connection error... i cant run any custom RUU... do to the same error
which means i cant flash back to the original wm 6.5
am i missing something? is there a version that will allow me to task 29 from within magldr? tried tty and usb flasher modes..
thanks for any help....
How?
Thanks for the help.
I have been running MAGLDR 1.13 and running wp7 ,im confused on how i cud sync my phone to the PC to start task29? shoud i get into bootloader rainbow screen and connect USB and then perform task 29 or is there another way?

You can do it via USB or via SDCard.
USB:
Go into bootloader (volume down while powering on)
Run flasher
Card:
Rename the task29 nbh file to "leoimg.nbh"
Put it on root of card
Go into bootloader (volume down while powering on)
You can also download the HD2 toolboox from teh sticky topic in nand section, that has all the needed flashers in one gui like magldr, task29, cwm etc.

Task 29 does not work on an SD card, only via USB.
It's an *.exe. connect your hd2 VIA usb in bootloader mode and doubleklick task29.exe. it will install as a new rom and after your flash will be empty. Then you have to flash a new ROM.

I think the OP is having trouble with the USB...

unable to flash through sd card get 00068002 error

title says it. When I try to flash original stock rom thru usb I get stuck at 9 percent. I think It has something to do with the radio. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Also my main problem, is I am stuck on boot up screen. I cant get a rom to load. So I am trying to flash back to stock and try again. I have task'd 29 and I am able to flash a custom rom, but it wont boot. Its just stuck at the splach screen. Was using chucky's droid rom.
one more thing. when I try to charge my battery, the phone just starts up by itself.
Do I have a Lemon?
EDIT" I do have a class 6 sd card.
Dumb question, but did you format (long not quick) your card first?
yes, I did Twice
firstly, try another sd card, could be a dodgy one. (Stock 16gb ones dont work, many 8gb ones cause problems) or possibly bad radio flash.
you could try re applying hspl and try flashing a radio on its own, then if that works flash the stock rom , , go for the 2.10.0 rom, cos that will match the 2.08.0000 spl from hspl when you reset that in a minute,,,(all this over usb, with hspl applied)
if that goes well, use the hspl.exe program to reset spl to 2.08.0000 and good to go.

yea they do that when you plug the cable in. You can avoid it by removing the battery, plug in the cable, then re insert the battery. it shouldnt try to start but it should start to charge.

theres a few things that could so to speak "upset" your device.
you need to make sure you hd2 have installed hspl 2.08.
have the newest radio 2.15.xx.xx(im not sure it can affect the GO GO GO! thing, but its best to be safe)
have at least MAGLR 1.11 installed (I have 1.12 that was released with WP7)
have properly gave your phone a hard reset.
I'm sure there are more things that can affect it, but i can't think of any really, im just throwin' ideas out there and hope it helps.
Do this
Hi, mdj rooms are buged many problems... touch screen blocked boot.. laging format sd card with panasonic sd formater... then instal another nand rom... I sugest rafroid... and you might whant to reset magdlr...

[Q] HTC HD2 bricked, can load bootloader cant install any ROM

HI everyone,
This is the first time for me posting a thread here...thanks in advance.
Well I have a HTC HD2 that is a friends of mines. He was trying to change the radio so it could work in another country and managed to brick the phone. He got tired of trying to fix the phone so he gave it to me. I have tried fixing it with a tool kit I downloaded in another thread here. I managed to get it to boot butt it wouldn't get past T-Mobile screen...I kept on messing with it trying to install a ROM and different radios but non will work and wont turn on anymore but still is able to be recognize but PC(not mobile media center) and the last thing I did was task29. It stopped at 99%...still can load bootloader 3 colors but having a harder time getting the phone recognize by PC. Can anyone help me before I get into a deeper hole? If your need any more detail please ask me...btw the phone is running SPL- 3.03 HSPL in boot loader.
to the rescue !!

your friend shouldnt have flashed the radio without proper info !!
radio is the only thing which bricks the device !!!
dont worry we'll try to sort something out !!
firstly start with flashing a proper radio !!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
download the radio 2.15.50.14 from this thread and flash it !!
NOTE : if you cant flash radio from ur pc, via nbh installer or the toolkit, you can flash it from a memory card !!
just format a normal memory card, put the radio on the card, rename the radio file to LEOIMG.nbh and get to the bootloader screen !!
follow the instructions from there and flash the radio !!
secondly if you want android or wp7-7.5 on ur device !! hspl 3.03 wont work !!
so install hspl 2.08 for that !!
for winmo6.5 3.03 is ok !!
do a task 29 once and flash any rom or magldr(for android or wp7-7.5)!!
good luck .....
thanks for quick reply
I am trying to do what you instructed me.
Didn't work
I tried it on the PC and it sadly stopped @ 96%, now it wont turn on volume down+power. Battery was charged and i didn't turn off. It displayed error 262. as soon as I can I will try it on sd card. Thanks though.
I was not able to install the radio but did in fact get to task29 successfully and MAGLDR Version-1.13. Now my phone is stuck in the Stick together screen. Can anyone help me from here what should I do. thanks I will be waiting for a responce.
Do you still need help cos its really easy to unbrick your phone and I say this because once I flashed 5 different roms in 2 hours or less and my phone wouldn't even turn on and when it did it would get stuck on the tmObile splash screen and restart but I fixed it and now I'm running the best Rom out there lol... reply to this thread and I'll tell you what to do

Ireally don't know what to do. MY friend said he took it to an Asian Guy...I noticed that the battery S/N does not match the phone...can this have an effect...I haven't been able to flash any ROMS successfully not even the debranded stock. I flashed several phones and installed many different custom firmwares but this phone has been a real challenge...I'm over 2 weeks in...Thanks for the help thus far you guys are the best...
leoimg.nbh won't start to install
Hi everyone,
I have a severe problem with my HTC HD2 after installing a NAND version of android which did not work very well, than wanting to reinstall winmob 6.5 (vodafone) it startet "loading" the leoimg.nbh from the SD-card, but than stayed in this status neverending. So I interrupted (was that the mistake?? :-( }. Now I'm able to start MAGLDR 1.13, am also able to install another NAND version, but with every version I get the message: problem with android.xxx and so on.
I can start the bootloader modus (SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE), also connect by USB, but if I try to reload any leoimg.nbh from SD card - it does nothing, just stays in the bootloader modus.
Did I destroy any hardware by interrupting the non functioning "loading"?
Please help, if you can, what I could do now to get a functioning NAND android again!
Many thanks in advance!!!
freak just try the task 29 and u might return everything to normal condition
and for future never interrupt the installation process as u can brick ur device
for the main topic, i can say that ur device is fully bricked and the only way is taking it to the service center or try flashing directly into the hardware, but thats dangerous and requires professional skills
Plz help!

First of all; This steps can solve your problem. But first of all(don't forget to check 2.08.HSL) try to use "Task29" and if it is success, load Radio ROM 2.15.50.14, and load original Winmo 6.5 ROM (Tmous or EU which phone do you use).
If you are stuck somewhere, then;
Download an original ROM for your HTC device from HTC webside.
- Format your SD card like FAT32 primary.
- Take "RUU_signed.nbh" from an original ROM and copy it to your SD card.
- Rename to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset your device while pressing the volume down button.
Radio ROM 2.15.50.14;
Radio ROM 2.15.50.14
HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1; ( contains task 29, magldr and recovery and also HSPL)
HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1
it's revived!

Do you think I should perform a task 29 now or I can just proceed with installing a new radio and then installing a new ROM?
Thanks again mate!
Apparently I need to install SPL 2.08 before trying to install HSPL and then run android.. anyone know where I can find it?
Nevermind figured everything out Thanks anyway

If you want to change your ROM with one another like Android NAND ROM or Windows 6.5 ROM, then use this procedures.
For NAND Android ROM; You must flollow this sequence;
first check your device if it is 2.08.HSPL, and format your sdcard ext3 or ext4 and 1gb (which one you must use is pointed out by your Android chief). Copy new Android ROM into your sdcard's FAT32 section. insert it into your HTC device.
1. do task29
2. instal radio rom 2.15.50.14
3. install magldr 1.13
4. do recovery 5.0.2.6
5. do clear cache and dalvik cache.
6. Choose your android ROM .zip file on sdcard, load and enjoy...
For Windows 6.5 Follow this sequence;
first check your device if it is 2.08.HSPL, Format your sdcard like FAT 32 primary partition. insert it into your HTC device.
1. do Task29
2. Install Radio ROM 2.15.50.14
3. Run LeoCustomRUU.exe like "Run as Administrator" which Windows 6.5 rom you chose to use.
Radio ROM 2.15.50.14;
Radio ROM 2.15.50.14

Are you booting into bootloader and connecting the device to your computer so you can get the HTC Sync connection. Just boot into bootloader by holding the volume down button down and poewering on your device. Connect it to your computer via USB and when you see Serial in the white bar of boo5tloader change to USB you have the HTC Sync connection and can flash your device.
I face a very odd problem with my HD2 EU. After years of 2 different versions of Android on nand I decided to reset it to stock(Vol down+power with leoimg.nbh in root of a FAT32 formatted microsd). When I get in bootloader mode there seem to be 2 instances of bootloader. The first 3 colour screen with all the right wordings lasts a second or two then I get a second 3 colour screen with the same wordings. With my Verbatim 8Gb class4 microsd formatted FAT32 and leoimg.nbh (obtained from the original RUU_Leo_HTC_ITA_1.66.408.1_Radio_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Signed_LEO_Ship.exe) in the root directory, the device does not recognize the file and it's not possible to restore the phone to stock, but I can only get into usb connection.
Being able to get in usb mode with the various versions of HSPL (1-2-3-4) I can still change the bootloader. With the HD2 Android toolkit 4.2.0.1 I can install cLK, Magldr, do a Task29 and repartition.
When I use the RUU installer I can install the RUU_signed.nbh that I used to get the leoimg.nbh BUT when I do it, and it does finish gracefully, on the screen that states the currently installed image THE INDICATION OF SUCH AN IMAGE IS BLANK whilst the name of the image to install is the one I am flashing. If I reflash the same image AGAIN (so I know what's on the device) the info of the installed image is never displayed. So after trying the various bootloaders HSPL and SPL and getting the same result you are my only resort.
Has anybody experienced such a problem? It is as if the the bootloader goes through a script that then starts a second "identical" bootloader (I understand that I may seem crazy) that is not capable of recognizing a leoimg.nbh. All my buttons are still working so it's definitely not a button problem. Therefore in a nutshell the question is: if I can't get the device to recognize a leoimg.nbh is there any other way to make it do so, given that I can communicate via usb without problems ?

[Q] [HELP] restoring a dead HD2

I've got a working HD2 running Tytungs 4.2.2 - which is great.
A friend has given me their dead HD2 to try to recover it.
When powered on it simply shows a white screen.
When I go into bootloader...the multi-coloured to screen comes up, and indicates SPL-3.03.0000
So I can't try and install HSPL as I understand it.
When I I plug in the USB cable the "serial" turns to "USB" on the bootloader screen
So I thought I'd try flashing a stock winmo rom to see if it came alive, and hopefully downgrade SPL at the same time to then move onto HSPL and Android.
I found RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
(lots of the old stock rom links are broken)
I extracted RUU_signed.nbh, renamed it LEOIMG.nbh...copied it to a blank 2gb SD card, put the card in the phone, powered on holding down the vol-down key and just got into the bootloader screen.....
So I'm stuck.....any ideas on what I could try?
Is it worth running the full Rom update utility?
is it just time to dump it?
Well I noticed the sdcard was formatted fat not fat32! Sorted that put leoimg.nbh back on it and the loader/flasher starts but fails flashing the radio.....reporting 00018003 RADIO FAIL
I tried flashing hspl with hspl4 - hoping if it worked I could try to flash a radio but no luck there....
Most stuff I am finding on searching is people like me blundering about in the dark......binning the hd2 seems a waste but I'm out of ideas on how to move forward....

I've got this white screen several times now, and in most cases it worked just to take out the battery and put it back in.
Usually the problem is solved temporarily if u do a task29 and install a clean rom.
With my HD2 the problem appears randomly after 4-5 months...maybe it's some kind of a hardware issue, maybe the RAM?
As far as I see it, there is no clear solution for the white screen..

I think you are right.
I can't do a Task29 as I can't get HSPL on the HD2.....
(It's running SPL3 so I have to use HSPL4.exe and that fails to install HSLP2.08 and HSPL3.03....)
Cheers
