Are there any other custom roms with volume rocker music controls other than Cyanogen? More specifically, any sense-based roms?
When I was using Ruby it had this feature. Great for the gym or if you use you phone for music in the car.
I wish more ROMs had this

wanted to bump this and see if there are more now, since this thread is months old. i'll add skyraider to the list. anyone else have other suggestions? thanks!
I also have been looking. I am currently using miui and they have tons of useful features but not that. I even looked for apps with that specific feature with no luck.
I use power amp but i would go back to stock music player if I could find an app that uses the volume buttons to skip ahead.

Jermaine's stock plus has it. Running it now and it's rock solid.

Mcsense has it. It is a rock solid gingersense rom. So does mctwist...I think.
So how many of you guys are using MIUI?
I just recently started using this rom and its great, EXCEPT for the music player. The Touchwiz player with the Voodoo Kernel sounded amazing. The Miui Music player isn't as great. Does anyone know how to put the touchwiz player onto miui?
As far as I know you can't put the tw music player on anything that doesn't have the tw framework.

I haven't tried this yet but, check it out. Beats audio processing for sense roms, only works with 3.x. I may just jump too a sense rom to play around.

I've already tried with Suicide Sense (3.5) and when I hit flash it said something bout missing "framework.jar" or something like that and failed
When I started flashing I only stuck with Sense ROMs and audio playback was so so for me. When I tried out CM7 with DSP manager I was shocked at the difference in sound. DSP Gave a whole new life to my ear buds as well as my BT Sony S9-HD's. But thats about the only thing that I really enjoyed about CM7. I would rather have a Sense ROM but my phone is my only mp3 device and I can't stand the way music sounds on Sense ROMs after hearing music while using CM7
I've looked around and messed with a few of my sense roms with Beats removing the lib files associated with beats and the stock libs and replaced them with the libs associated with DSP Manger as well as the apk but the sound just isn't the same as when using CM7.
So what I'm wondering, is there a way to remove, before flashing or after, all sound files related to audio playback and replace them with the necessary files from CM7 to make music sound as if I were on a CM7 ROM?
try the Equalizer app on the market, I personally use PlayerPro with the DSPpack

is beats audio only included in that ROM or can someone get it separately?
seeing how your question is how to remove it i take it that you wouldn't recommend it would you..lol
i too am currently using equalizer, it's great except for the annoying icon on the tray in the top left corner
i believe it works just as good if not better then beats as it is compatible with all songs.
i hear beats only works with stock music on some devices

From what I've read it showed how to intsall beats. I'm assuming I can do the opposite by removing the pieces to beats before flashing and replace them with the ones for DSP from cm7?

That should work.
Download the CM7 ROM and Download whatever Sense ROM you plan on flashing (I personally recommend Bindroid and all it's Glory )
Put both Roms on your computer if they aren't already and extract the zip files.
Navigate to
"System/App" Find the Beats APK and remove it from the Sense Rom.
Navigate to the System/App directory of CM7 and Pull the DSP Apk and move it to the Sense Rom you are using.
Rezip the ROM you plan on installing and sign it.
Install.
Note that I don't know 100% that this will work; I don't know how beats is installed, and I don't know how DSP is installed it could be more complicated then that and you could also end of soft bricking your phone if it is from a system incompatibility. If I'm wrong then I apologize in advance, but there's still that chance that it could work.
Will I need to change the lib files from the /system/lib/soundfx folder as well?
Sent from my Glacier using XDA
My assumption would be yes. Because MIUI and Sense are so different I don't know that it will even work. You will probably have to pull everything related to Beats. I'm still just starting, but you'll probably have to edit your install to direct the extra install components and tell it to fix the permissions. (I haven't dabbled much there but I'd assume that should be fairly easy yet slightly time consuming)

lol Know the feeling; I'll pull the CM7 ROM and the Bindroid Rom and work with them to see if I can't get what you wanted to be done completed and I'll let you know ASAP; I might give it a try before the end of the day; if not you might have to wait about a week (Sorry, trying to fix my ROM as well atm lol)
Hey, np! Thanks for the help too! This is the kinda thing that makes xda what it is.

I hope I'm not the only one that thinks PlayerPro is as good as Beats... I haven't saw any advantage to having Beats Audio..

He doesn't want beats. That's why were looking to remove it
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA
looked at taking out beats from a sense rom and putting DSP in and I think its beyond my scope of knowledge.
The files in the flashable zip don't match up with whats in an rom zip so I don't know what I should and shouldn't take out....
Did someone found a way to remove it since when I flashed with JaggyRom which have BeatsAudio sound is extremely worst.

So lately I've been alternating a lot between Gingerbread with Sense and Ics with AOKP. Apart from the obvious performance ICS has over GB&Sense, the Sense builds excel in one thing and that's music sound quality. It's not even the Beats audio thing because even in builds with no Beats, the sound quality in Sense builds is SO much better, it's really annoying to use ICS. The music isn't just bass-less, but even high tones sound crackled and bad under the same speakers/headphones they sound REALLY good at on Sense builds.
What causes this? Could this be the infamous Bravia engine I've seen touted about on the forum?
If so, is it portable to ICS?
If not, is there any solution for the poor music quality under ICS?

I've notice the same thing. with Ics rom when its loud sounds like the music its damaged. With GB plays great

This is true.
Now Im using ICS ROM. Playing music with PowerAmp and the quality is great. Player has many settings to improve the music quality.
you also could try flashing beats audio from the android market.

Tried flashing Beats Audio, never could get it to work.
As for the other replies - are you guys suggesting this is the player app's fault rather than the actual kernel?

For me dsp manager with some settings(i don't remember, i'm on sense 3.5) works fine but i agree with you that sense roms are the best in audio (loud and great bass)
