Well, either I am trippin and have been with Sprint 10 years, or there is a mistake on my acct? I swear I have only been with them since 2004, well Nextel actually, then Sprint. My current plan is the $129 Family Plan with 5 lines, so I should not be eligible to Gold status.
But someone posted on SprintUsers about the log on window now showing your Premier status. When I sign in, sure enough it says "Welcome, Sprint Premier Gold Customer". My upgrade, which I assumed I would lose, is due 10/01/2011, as I upgraded to my EVO in Oct 2010. Everything is still showing as eligible. So perhaps you should check your account and see what your level is.

Figures, been with Sprint for over ten years and even though the guy at the store assured me I would be Gold they have me down as Silver.
I got the Silver kick in the nut sack.

I was told it shouldn't matter and they were supposed to add my Nextel years along with my Sprint tenure.
You were supposed to request a tenure override. The rep can look up your old account with CRF tool and see your old Legacy account from the P2K system.
***Tenure Override Request. Refer them to KMS document "Verify Sprint Premier Program Eligibility and Help Customer Redeem Offer". ***

Not sure you should be posting work links here, or link names anyway. It does matter though as the system will automatically change the tenure.

Well this sucks! I'm in the same boat as OP but I'm stuck on Silver. I have same plan with 3 lines & my bill still comes in around $200/mo & that's with the discount I get from Kimberly Clark! Looks like I'll be on the phone with the retentions department tomorrow!

Sprint the entire time. I've had the same number since day one but have had extra lines come and go.
I switched way back before suncom got bought out.
edit: been too long ago for me to remember well lol, I actually had suncom when they started but switched to Sprint shortly after. For some reason I thought they got bought out by Cingular and then AT&T back in '00.

My account has been kind of fubared from the beginning. For some reason they had an address in Arizona attached to my account that could only be seen internally, they told me a long long time ago it was nothing so I forgot about it until they tried to send my replacement phone there last year. Then once I signed the contract for my Evo they started charging me their state and county taxes even though I've never lived anywhere near there lol
I guess I'm lucky that I'm on the opposite boat.. I got the letter stating that I was in the Silver program and when I logged in I see it says welcome Gold Premier Member.. explains why my phone eligibility never changed. I knew I was near the 10 year area though. Hope other people are as lucky as me.
For those of you who have been a 10+ year subscriber with sprint/nextel/sprint, when you moved to either or they created you a new account. I was able to go back and show my account numbers from where I left sprint for nextel and back to sprint. It took a week or so but I was upgraded to gold due to me being a 10+ year customer. I can give the number I called to do this if you PM me, I dont want to put it on blast for some idiot to get and make dumb arse calls to. It is not a retentions # but a Executive & Regulatory Services #. If this will help you get gold back shoot me a PM
i have been with sprint for 12 years but i have 4 lines so i normally have 2 or 3 upgrades chilling im bummed i was dropped to silver but ill still get a new phone when they are released
Holy shiet I thought I was going to be silver, but I'm GOLD EVO 3D here I come
I'm golden woohoo
This whole Gold/Silver thing is screwing with my head too.
I signed up for Sprint February of 2010. One Samsung Moment (I stick with it for a year, my god was it horrible.), and a LG Lotus Elite II.
We got the Gold benefits before Sprint changed the requirements, but we're also on a corporate account. I upgraded from my Moment to the Evo on March 7th using Wirefly.
I then check to see if I have to wait two years for an upgrade, but nope, I'm due for another one next March on the 1st. So I'm guessing I'm retaining my benefits and wasn't affected by the change, even though other people have. It's so confusing.

Just goes to show how misinformed people are; that document has nothing to do with customers switching from Nextel to Sprint, it simply shows how to redeem anniversary rewards and how to check their tenure, specifically Sprint® Wireless tenure. Customers that were with Nextel and switched with the merger don't qualify, exceptions are made but systematically they don't qualify.

If you were sprint then went to Nextel after merger than back to sprint with no break in service you can be granted gold as I was. It was not automatic I had to fight for it. Of course I had all three of my account numbers for the past 11 years do it was hard to deny me.

After the merger they were both on the same system and switching between Sprint and Nextel made no difference, just like switching now doesn't affect anything.

Take this with as many/few grains of salt as you will, although I really hope it's true.
Pics not showing but if its from an online chat disregard anything your friend was told. Customer service has no insight into upcoming services. Our store and regional rep last said we're looking at a 2012 release. Hes been dead on about everything hes told me to date and seeing how the test area in chesterfield has been terminated im inclined to believe hes probably right. If tmobile helps bail out clearwire then maybe itll come faster but Detroits very far down the list of major cities getting 4g.

We've been lacking here in Indianapolis also but over the past month and half Ive spoken to sprint, IT and several people have spoken with the in store resp and Ive even talked with an out of state technician and they all have said that we are getting it by the end of 2010. They've said that they are planning on all their major markets to have it running by Jan 2011. Sprint is majority owner in Clearwire but rumor has it T-mobile is going to help start backing them also. Clearwire seems to have a plan worked out for their short comings that was reported a couple months ago but its unclear how they got it worked out just yet from what Ive seen. My guess is Sprint dumped more money in with Verizon flipping the switch on LTE a couple days ago.
Ah, I'll try reuploading when I get home. Apparently the XDA app doesn't like PNG's.
But yes, it was via CS chat, which is why I'm hopeful but skeptical. Basically, it said he "successfully looked into the Detroit area and sees that there are approximately 6 future towers planned for the Detroit area and that it can be expected to be up and running early next year."
It is a bit hard to believe, seeing that this year is almost over and because we haven't seen any other evidence at all, but it would be great if true.
If T-Mo does end up using Clear's WiMax, I've heard it's likely that you'll be able to roam on them with Sprint at the very least, so that's a start.
As far as the LTE thing goes, I heard that Sprint was planning on using it but was still going to carry out their full WiMax roadmap, so we'll see.

I called sprint level 2 tech support about another issue and was told Nationwide Coverage of 4g by March 2011. Thats so redonkulus to me - hell i dont even believe that for a Detroit Roll out
If Verizon gets 4g in Detroit before Sprint then I'm switching to Evil Red.
So the tech said nationwide 4g by march 2011, that sounds like sprint might need some magic to make that happen, oh wait they got david blaine, feb 7 could be interesting, and fit the march timeline

Not to be an ass but this is why you dont trust any Sprint rep you talk to. 4G is still not available in Indi or even released anywhere else for that matter.
The last released market was L.A 2 months ago and should cause concern to anyone expecting 4G anytime soon. Ive said it before and I stand by my comments that 4G will NOT hit Detroit before 2012. I'll be curious to see what the actual Feb. 7th announcement is but I can almost guarantee its not about Nationwide 4G.
My friend's co-worker's sister's dog told me that you shouldn't trust hear-say nor anything a customer service rep says about the future.
I would trust that dog.
I think I know that dog too...he keeps getting into my garbage and humping the neighbors birdbath.
Don't trust that dog, Detroit is getting Clearwire 4g in the next six months*.
*I have no knowledge as to if or when we will get WiMax 4g, so I am basing my data on instinct alone. Dan Hesse did a keynote speech to the Detroit Economic Club a few weeks ago, I would think that is a good sign? I believe that Clearwire may STILL be holding out for government money (grant, stimulus) to bring 4g to the poor neighborhoods.

Figured they would strip my upgrade tomorrow so I went and blew it on a shift since all evos are sold out. Got the instant rebate and it was 150 out of pocket today. Also upgraded my discount from military to boeing since I work for them too... anybody else beat the April 1 rush?

Hmm... I don't have my one year yet, so I will be calling tomorrow to see if i can get my upgrade reset.
If you already had a upgrade available they wouldnt have taken it. You already earned it, those who are a month away from earning one would go to 11 months or whatever, depending on when it was available under the old premier plan. Check on it in a few days, you can return that shift within a 30 day period...
My $75 upgrade will become active April 1st, I wonder if they are gonna try to take it away, lets see what happens

They told me and many others "Use it or lose it"
I have been told both ways. My line is out of contract so there is no way they can take mine. It's been open since 08. I used my wifes line for my evo. So when evo 3d comes I am going to wait for Christmas and see if I can get it for 99 like I got my evo4g.

na pitt, i dont fool wit winmo no mo.... and they bumped my main line upgrade a few days to today so that i wouldnt lose it for another year. thats what would have happened, i would have got knocked to silver status and pushed back that upgrade another year... as for the other lines on the account, time is time and they all have about close to 22 months starting in june, which would warrant the $150 upgrades without worrying about them being stripped...
Just checked and my upgrade is still ok at 12:01 am

My upgrades were rolled back. I had an upgrade that I was holding since 11/1/10 and that line now says I can upgrade it in 153 days on 9/1/11. Awful nice that I've had that upgrade available for four months and they gank it. Oddly enough, another line of mine which wasn't upgrade eligible until 12/1/11 was moved back to 8/1/11 as the 150 dollar upgrade. Sprint is a hot mess.

I emailed and called, and both reps confirmed those ALREADY eligible for an upgrade wouldn't have it removed. Only those who are x months away will have to wait x more months.
"Your line has had an upgrade available since 10/2010, and you will be able to use that for the EVO 3D when it becomes available in the summer."
I'm sure there will be confusion over this though, but I have it in writing, so I'm happy. And should there be any problems with it for me or anyone else, I'm sure Sprint will restore your one-last-upgrade rather than lose an entire account.
There's a big difference between amending one of their perks to add a longer waiting time, and flat out withholding something they agreed to give you after you satisfied their requirements and have already earned it.
My wife's line is eligible for the old Sprint Premier (Now gold premier level, which we are not) tomorrow, go figure. I went into the Sprint store today and had the reps confirm that we would still get the same $150 discount whether we came in tomorrow or even in a few weeks from now. She also said that they are currently doing the no mail in rebates until the 16th, which hopefully sticks as well. Just thought I'd throw what I found out today out there for you guys

Well, I'm telling you now, my line was upgrade eligible on November 1, 2010. I have lost that upgrade, on the Sprint site it says that upgrade is now available on 9/1/11. I have no faith that Sprint will restore that upgrade, I have had far too much experience with CS there to think any differently.
I cancelled my main line today because they wouldn't keep my upgrade despite saying otherwise in January. ( ETF of 60bucks was easy to swallow to show my displeasure).
I had been eligible since October, but it didn't matter. Whenever the Nexus comes out, I may just add a line to get it...
Sprint is retarded but smart at the same time... they know this will piss a lot of people off, but they are so damn cheap its hard to leave their dumbasses.

The normal Upgrade Checker on their site was down/inaccesible. But they have a new Beta store thats been up for like a week or two. If you choose upgrade in the beta store you can check your eligibility. It pops up on the screen. Mine still shows I have an upgrade 10/01/2011, which is/was correct under the old Premier rules. I assume if it's changed, my upgrade will display as 08/01/2012. Seeing as how i am now a Silver member....no longer a Gold Member.

The normal checker works perfectly for me. When I log into Sprint.com and my list of 4 devices comes up, the green circle with the (i) in it, tells me my upgrade dates. The phone that had the full 150 upgrade since 11/1/10, now has a 75 dollar upgrade until 9/1/11. Working as intended, I assume.
I don't have a green circle with an (i) in it. I have the blue circles with the plus/minus symbol to expand the options under each line. If I hit the upgrade button, it directs me to the new phone/plans page and once in there, I'm sent to the beta store.
Also if I text "upgrade" to 1311, it also shows 10/01/2011. My luck this will all change tomorrow during regular business hours for me.
Edit: I think I know what you're talking about now. When I did have available upgrades on my line I did have a little symbol. None of my lines are eligible at this time. Thats why I don't see that. But the current means of checking my upgrade status all show it's unchanged at this time...for now.
This could be good news for some peeps wanting to get the 3D or Nexus when they drop. I was over on Sprintusers and saw this info. Basically, they are saying there is an override process, to help people that lost their upgrades with the Premier changes. Now before anyone asks....this is only set up for people that already had a $150 upgrade showing on their account, prior to APRIL 1, 2011. I heard quite a few peeps posting they had upgrades sitting there since Oct/Nov 2010 etc and lost them, aka had them reset by Sprint.
So if you had this happen to you, you may wanna call in and ask about the Sprint Premier Tier Silver Override Process. Supposedly, they will research the issue and re-set your upgrade accordingly. This falls in line to some of the information DirtyShroomz was posting a while back, about upgrade resets being possible. Now if your $150 upgrade was due after APRIL 1, 2011 this technically doesn't apply to you. However, it certainly can't hurt to try. You might get lucky.

New Sprint Premier Silver Tier Override Process
By: Juan April 13th, 2011
No Comments
A trusted source of SU, who happens to be close to the situation of the Premier Program has advised us that there is a change in the Premier Program once again.
There appears to be a a plan in effect for people that lost their Gold membership. This occurred due to the changes in the Premier Program that went into went into effect April 1, 2011.
It appears there will be some flexibility for members that were Gold before the changes.
CS reps will be able to submit a tier override for customers that were upgrade-eligible in April, but lost the benefit when they became Premier Silver due to the changes in the program.
Premier Silver customers may ask for an upgrade if they were eligible in April under the previous rules.
The customer and CS will have the following options available to them:
If the customer wants to upgrade now: CS will transfer the call to Telesales to process a tier override and upgrade the customer.
If the customer is not ready to upgrade: CS can submit a tier override using the new options available to CS.
Somewhat correct. Tier overrides are only done in retentions, CS and telesales can not perform these nor submit anything to have it done, just trying to save some, some time.
Only people that had it qualify for it, anyone that was set to receive it at a later date will not get it as they never really had it.
Edit: Only a certain set of people can perform these resets, some are in other departments besides retentions, but mainly it's retentions that does the resets. NSS usually works with third parties on these.

Thanks for the clarification sir. Sounds good for the peeps who lost it though, for sure.
Just an FYI, I work at RadioShack and we are able to call in these upgrades to our Sprint sales support and get them reset (only if you already had the upgrade as of April 1st of course).

Great to hear.... thanks so much guys!
I lost my 11/1/2010 upgrade with this whole premier change. Ill be calling later today and will post results.
Thanks again
You can also get help is you are a 10 year subscriber who is not gold do to switching to nextel/sprint. I started with sprint 11 years ago, when they merged with nextel I switched for about 3 years. I then went back to sprint, no breaks in service during this time. Well I was set to be silver, I contacted Executive Services with my 3 account numbers and they did some research and upgraded my account to gold, were it should be Took close to 3 weeks, but the guy handling my case was extremely helpful with the whole situation. I do not think they can do anything for you if you were with nextel before the merger though
Sounds like it may work for me then. In March my account showed a full upgrade available... I checked in April and it was reduced to 75$.
I'm not to sure about calling in tho.. and I say this in NO offense to anyone, but, most reps don't seem like they know what they're doing.
My upgrade was due for april 1st, I had a full upgrade that day and the next I was silver. Apparently I sent enough emails that they gave me an upgrade override yesterday

I did have an upgrade available before April 1 on my primary line.
I called and spoke to Customer Retentions and they submitted by account for an upgrade and even said she would call me back as soon as a decision was reached.
Very satisfied with Sprint CS. I do hope my upgrade will be re-assigned.
Got my upgrade back today after calling sprint today *****ing about bad service. Looks like i can get the nexus now!
Tried to get the override via chat... No go..
I will call in on my lunch break and see if they will give me my upgrade back

They Said they are going to submit the request for my eligibility to be correct and should be done within 24/48 hours but may be sooner.
I must be a bigger jerk than I thought.
I had 7 or 8 phone conversations and a week-long email exchange with Account Services, they told me they would be delighted if I moved my three lines to another carrier..

well if your company would fix the towers that have been down for months i would stop complaining. anyways at least they gave me my upgrade back for the inconvenience.
I think that's specific enough - I'm kicking myself for this but I've got just as excited as everyone else about what is just another phone, techgasm indeed. However, now it's happened I'm going to embrace it.
Anyone heard anything from T-Mobile yet? I ordered mine on 22nd Feb, I've been receiving annoying weekly txts ever since telling me they haven't forgotten me, including one yesterday, I phoned 150 to ask when it was coming and they said shipping on the 16th. That strikes me as codswallop, no-one does anything on the weekend, and the phone call was so vague "Nothing on your record to say there are any delays" but no real info.
Anyone? Anything? Entitlement much?
And I'm even talking to myself - So the T-Mobile site has gone down, and there is no facility to have an online chat with someone (phone chat is utterly pointless). T-Mobile are WORSE THAN HITLER (unless it arrives today)
I think guys tmobile won't be delivering anything until 29th as no news of stock news available.
P4U do have upgrade stock ready for dispatch today.

Welcome to my world.
There is only one reason & one reason alone that I am with T-Mobile & that is my fnf discount. If it was not for that I would have left them years ago.
When the phone went live on there website I called them to order the phone. After going through the plans I was told I could not order the phone !! Eventually I was allowed to order the phone on 1st March but only after being told I had to switch to ee to keep my discount ( nice try ).
So I have been trawlling T Mobile's social meadia & they are so full of it.
Anyway I got a message yesterday via the HTC facebook page that they were shipping phones to T-Mobile today. So I guess once they have put there logo & crappy software on the phone then you will get it.
Right, well I just got off the phone again because my last conversation wasn't in the least bit convincing but this time at least the chap was certain, T-Mobile don't have any in stock and won't have until the end of the month (it'll "definitely" be in my hand by the 1st April but that date is highly auspicious considering events thus far).
On the plus side he did credit my account with a £20 "good will" credit as I've been waiting so long. You might as well get onto them, see how many different answers we get and who gets the best goodwill handout.

I aso wonder what EE are doing to our phones that means w get them later than everyone else....
Anyone on T-Mobile had any news?

I've literally just got off the phone to t-mobile and I've been told that they are out of stock of the HTC One.
I was also told that my HTC One was sold to me on Saturday when they did have stock and delivery is confirmed for the 19th, which is tomorrow.
Ass, elbow moment.

I just called them.....got completely different story to you....
I've now been told they are expecting the stock NEXT week! After telling me several times that I would be getting my phone this week......and they took the money 2 weeks ago when I ordered......
I was offered no cash incentive for the delay or offer to refund the cost of the handset like others have had......i'm looking for a deal elsewhere me thinks!

Ya think? I'm suspicious, too. Ring up, order it, no bother, turns up when it's supposed to?
Naaah.
I called back, asked for a tracking number, the Philippine? call handler hung up.
I called back, got through to a Scottish call handler who put me through to Customer Connect for a tracking number.
No tracking number because no stock in the warehouse.
An entry onto the computer system's Inappropriate Call Log has been made about the fact that I was lied to.
I'm escalating the matter for a discount/compo.

Same - I am getting a good deal......but think it might be worth trying elsewhere....problem is I won't get such a good 18 month deal - really don't want 2 year contract.
I just wish they would be straight with us and tell us whats going on - you can tell when you call that they are fed up with us calling - i spoke to an Australian guy that I spoke to 2 weeks ago - he just keep saying things like we should be getting it next week or whatever - the really should know!
Should do a sweepstake on the stock update text I reckon 12.58 today!

None here in TN just yet (outskirts of Nashville) . Called Best Buy where I got mine, rep told me they have VZW units in, but can't do the swaps yet. And they're still waiting on AT&T units. Some garble about Samsung and the carriers have to work something out between eachother and I'll receive a call or email when I'm able to come in and swap.

I think they have to now get CPSC approval or something before the new units can be given out.

that's what I keep reading.
Guys relax. I understand wanting the fixed version but some things you shouldn't rush. I rather them take a little bit longer and fix everything than rush it and has other issues. Its frustrating i know but good things come to those who wait.

Well, the thing is, Samsung HAS fixed it. It's now being delayed due to 3rd party involvement.
Samsung has the phones fixed, but we and the carriers can't get them now due to CPSC takeover. I'm not sure what the CPSC does exactly, but I'm guessing that they now need to make sure that the fixed phone's don't have any potential problems too. I read that they will need to make sure that the problem is actually just contained to the batteries, and that by changing the battery, there isnt still a risk factor.
Personally, I'm not really whining about it too much. What I'm a little frustrated about is the fact that I can't swap my phone out NOW and im getting all these messages like, "Power down your phone NOW." I can't afford to go without my phone (it's my only line of communication in the case of an emergency, for work, and for personal use. I don't have a land line or another cell phone), so I need to be able to swap my phone for another right on the spot, or to have a replacement sent to me and me send the old one back (charge me if I don't or whatever). I also can't really go for an S7 Edge either because I use my S-pen daily for work, and because swapping between my Note7->temp phone->new Note7 would just be too much of a hassle with all my files and stuff. The only other reason im not running scared to an AT&T store to do a temp swap is because my phone feels fine.
Long story short, this whole thing has just become annoying. I'm not mad about it all, nor at Samsung. And yeah, as some have pointed out elsewhere, this would be a whole lot better if Samsung had put in removable batteries. Lol. (And yes, the phone could still be waterproof with a removable battery. The S5 was).
Anyways, back on topic I guess. Lol

None in San Francisco as of yet.. called a corporate store and the rep says they have not gotten any updates or information as to when they are coming in and just check back again or look at the att website for any news.

I returned my 2 Note 7's to Best Buy, and when I went to get a "loaner" from 3 different ATT stores - 2 said that it was impossible, 1 told me to buy an iPhone. So, thats that.. but the problem is one of the Note 7's was part of a BOGO and they would't take it off of my account, so it is now costing me $45 a month(30 for phone 15 for access). The main Note 7 has been taken off so my monthly access fee for that line has went back up to $40 from $15. All in all I don't have a phone and I'm paying $70 more a month. If you return your phone, make sure everything is straightened out before you leave.
The stores will likely get stock soon, but they will not be able to sell them until cleared with CPSC which will take at least until the end of the month.

They're defying AT&T's official recall policy:
https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KM1122948
I would suggest that you speak with an online AT&T chat rep. The ones I spoke to said AT&T would intervene on the customer's behalf if any retail store refused to abide by the official policy. (In my case, intervention was unnecessary because the AT&T store provided a loaner S7 Edge without needing to be persuaded.)

if he returned to best buy, he bought them from best buy. in order to get the loaners he would have had to purchase through ATT and done the exchange/loan through ATT as well, and get the loaners at the same time as he returned.

Nope. I purchased my AT&T Note 7 from Best Buy as well. AT&T did instruct me to return it to Best Buy, which I did. But then AT&T said to go over to a nearby AT&T store to get the interim S7 Edge. So I did that too, and it went very smoothly.

Did you do another upgrade, pay taxes, and initiate a new next plan for the S7 edge or was it actually loaned to you until the Note 7's are in stock?

I spent an hour with a CSR at ATT and they told me no matter where the phone was purchased ATT locations are supposed to give a loaner device. I'm still not sure what loaner means.. Buy a new phone with option to return later or just get a phone added to the account for a while with the intention of returning it, for free.
