Antenna Problem - Desire HD General

Hi Guys.
I have this big problem and hope you guys at XDA can help me solve it /:
My phone wont connect to the "network"(I'm not able to recieve phonecalls, sms or sending text messeages, calling others etc) anymore.
At the bars on the top of the notificationbar it shows 0 Piles and a little x.
Ive tried to run the Htc Desire HD Ruu, but that didn't help at all I: ..
If i take out my SIM-card and put it into my old HTC Desire, i'm able to call and send sms' like any other phone ...
Ohh, and by the way, i'm able to call the local Emergency Service ...
Thanks for helping everyone
-Much appreciated.

Try this...
Got to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Then press the menu button... then tap 'Reset to Default'
Select your desired provider and pay plan, then go back to Access Point Names and make sure that the green dot to the right hand side is present. If not, click on the grey dot and it should turn green.
Just to be sure, toggle Airplane Mode on and then off.
Hopefully you will be ok then.

Tried it but didn't work I: ..
I think there is a problem with the SIM-card reader I: or something..
Tho.. im able to enter my Sim-Pin-code, and if i type something wrong it wont let me access, just like normal..
Strange thing is : When i go to the "Select network provider option thing"
It says "Your simcard isn't allowed to access this network" i've tried all the listed providers tho .. no success .. Even when i pick Telenor which i know is my network provider .. and as mentioned my simcard works fine on my old HTC DESIRE ..

This just happend to me, read here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014803
hope its not the same thing

Thx to TomFrom, i now know that my HTC Desire HD has been blacklisted I: ..
I wonder if i can be lucky enough to get a brand new phone too .. :/
Anyways, thanks for the help, i appreciate it alot

No problem! click thanks !
gutting isnt it lol, hopefully i can pick my new one up tomorrow.

Hmmm, i wonder if Unlocking my CID will work?
Imma give it a shot, after trying everything else .

I believe once a phone is blacklisted it will never work in the UK again (or whatever country your in)

This phone gotta have the worst antenna problem i've ever experienced.. I've gone thrue a warranty issue once, because of a same problem, and im starting to think this problem is pretty mainstream...
Antenna cover bottom part of the phone seems to glitch with the Antenna signal, interrupting phonecalls..
I just hate it, Its like driving thrue a tunnel, and you hear nothing in the phone, then PAM beep beep <End of call>..
I've gotten a replacement cover for the sim hatch.. Its just amazingly bad construct of this aluminium body.. A friend of mine has the same phone, but he hasn't got the problem with the drop of calls, i've compared both phones and its pretty evident, my alu-body is different from his..
Pretty sad face atm.. VERY disappointing... and im not going thrue another warranty for nothing.. They'll just send me back a "fixed" phone with new hardware but same shell... "Alu-bodies seems expensive to make perhaps????..."

look at the battery cover, there is housed the antenna

Please Help - calling problems

Hi everybody,
I have an 02 xda mini s and I cannot make or receive any phone calls. I was given it by a friend almost brand new. I put a Vodafone sim in it and for the first few weeks it worked fine and I could make and recieve phone calls no problems. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, I couldn't do either. I can send and receive text messages fine however. One other thing to add is when trying to make a phone call, it goes to ring out as usual, but at the point of when a phone would normally ring it cuts out and you can hear 3 very faint tinny sounding beeps. It is very irritating as it is excellent at everything else but I just cannot use it as a phone
I would be very, very grateful to anyone that could help.
P.S I have noticed on several forums there have been similar question with no responses, perhaps this is something quite rare or unheard of.
It could either be a hardware or a software problem. Have you tried backing everything up and doing a hardreset and seeing if that solves the problem?

Hi, yes I have done several hard resets. I have tried different sims from different companies to no affect. However once in a blue moon and by pure chance it works again and I can make phone calls but it doesn't last long.
It sounds like a hardware problem then, I'm not familiar with the Wizard's internals, but it could be either a loose connection on the motherboard or just a component dying. If it's either of those things, someone on these boards might be able to sell you a replacement, but you'll have to take the thing apart, which most likely means ending up with more screws then you started with.

Cheers for that, I doubt i'll take it apart though it will end up with more than a few screws left over if I do it, I am am danger when it comes to electrics. Even if I did I wouldn't know what to look for. I'll see if I kind find someone more electrical minded than me to do.

Alright, good luck. From your last goodbye, I'm just going to assume you're from the UK, you could try taking it to an 02 store and seeing if they can do anything to help you. You're not a customer of theirs, so they will most likely tell you to go away, but it is worth a shot.

Yeah I am from the U.K. I could take it to them no probs, probably won't be cheap though. If needs be I could always stick and 02 chip in there or find someone with a contract o2 chip.
If needs be there must be a phone repair shop nearby, London is a pretty big place .
My luck has been mixed with phone repair shops, but I've only been one or two times to one of the mall kiosk style ones. If it turns out getting it replaced is a no go, I'd suggest selling your current Wizard on ebay, and then turning around and buying a fully functioning unlocked one.

Yeah its an idea. Cheers Matey.
I have almost exactly the same problem, 3 faint beeps when trying to make a call.
The phone I have is a T-mobile MDA Compact that has been network unlocked.
The problem is that it is unable to make or receive normal calls. The symptoms vary across networks, with vodafone being the most functional. The symptoms are as follows.
----
Tesco Mobile: - no service.
----
T-Mobile: Connects to network and shows a signal, but no call functions work.
----
vodafone: Connects to network, shows a signal, can send and receive text messages, can make 999 calls.
Can't make or receive normal calls:
When trying to dial out the display goes from "dialing" to "call ended" and three quiet beeps can be heard, the dialed phone never rings.
If called from BT landline the caller simply hears "Error" and callers from other mobile phones hear a variety of different tones (engaged, beeps etc, varies with different phones)
If the phone is switched off, the callers get the usual "the phone you are calling is not available" message.
------
The phone has a CheckMend certificate to show that it is not lost or stolen, and T-Mobile have confirmed that the IMEI is not barred on their network.
While attempting to fix this:
I have reflashed the phone with several ROMs, run the unlocker several times and updated the radio from 1.12 to 1.13, but the original problem remains unchanged.
I have e-mailed HTC support with my symptoms but as yet have received no reply.
Big Big Big F*****g Problem
Hi, can anybody help me. I have f....d my XDA mini s, i need a WM6 rom XM6r3 on SD card, i cant acces my ACTIVE SYNC. Pls send me a link with these ROM.
Could you elaborate on what the issue is a bit more? I believe the issue is most likely that you have "ADvanced Network Functionality" checked in USB-PC settings under connections. Try unchecking that and seeing if you can then connect.

Can anyone clarify what a hard reset really does?

OK, I know that may look like a dumb question (and maybe it is!!!)
I have just unlocked my Vario 2 using the "Pof" method with both Sim and SuperCID.
Problem is, my phone needs to be sent back (long story - but basically I am getting a replacement Vario 3). Now obviously I am concerned they will tell me "sorry youve been playing with your phone sonny - its no longer under warrenty", so need to get it back to factory settings if I can.
I appreciate a hard reset will basically wipe any files I have, contacts and settings etc, but will this remove the unlocks that have been done? ie It really does go back to factory settings - or do these unlocks stay on there?
I have been searching the forum and WIKI, but not found the solution. I did think I would need to install a T-Mobile Rom - but all I could find was a hungarian version - which whilst in English, would probably look worse than as I currently have it!
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
EDIT:
For the record, if it makes any difference:
ROM Version 1.21.110.3
Rom Date 06/19/06
Radio version 1.16.00.00
Herm300 IPL-1.01
SPL 1.40.0lipro
a hard reset simply formats the internal drive on the phone and resets it to the factory settings.
generally t mobile wont bother looking at things like that, i unlocked my vario, dropped it, it smashed, they just replaced it after trying to repair it.
A few people have flashed new roms and bricked it, sent it back, tmobile are none the wiser, they are probably unaware people to this to their handsets!
we are all just stupid customers as far as they are concerned!
personally i wouldnt worry about it!

OK thanks for that. So I assume a hard reset will not over write anything regarding the bootloader radio change and unlocks? I appreciated that it resets the OS - hence the question.
I agree that they probably wouldnt in most cases look into the phone and check, but they have put a note on my account about "charging if not found faulty".
The problem I have been getting is missing calls - even if I am in a strong signal area. I actually work at Waterloo Railway station - and I would doubt too many places would get a better signal! An incoming call is made, my phone doesnt ring and the caller gets a single ring, then nothing. From what I can now gather, this may be to do with the cell shaking hands but not really being connected. ie the phone/cell are duping each other. This appears to be a 3G issue (so is probably likely to still be there on exchange.) Now the silly thing I have noticed; the phone seemed fine until I got web'n'walk put back on and the problem happens once I have been online. Strangely at the moment, I dont think the problem is persisiting (ie Im not aware of missing calls - though of course thats difficult to quantify unless someone tells me!)
Anyway - I have a feeling they will be looking more into this phone as this replacement will be my 5th! (The previous had similar problems with calls being made or incoming that would just fall over before being answered and the signal being completely lost when it was happening. Slightly different this time - but sound related!)
So will there be a way to put it back to being locked and the correct bootloader etc being shown?
Many thanks
I had the same problem with rejected and dropped calls, tmobile couldnt care less from what i learned or are unaware of the problem! try this
1. lock the phone to gsm only (this solved it pretty much straight away)
2) remove the voicemail from your account
3) If you are using gprs data, you will rarely get a phone call through, and by using it i mean looking at web pages or having programs update in the background.
Downgrading the bootloader is way above my head so i wouldnt like to advise.
As regard to relocking the phone to the network, i dont think thats possible, in any event, why would they check the simlock if the phone is having problems with calls!
If its your fifth handset, you should be looking at changing the model at least because thats ridiculous.
It sounds like a network issue rather than a handset problem!

Yeh, the problems on this phone didnt start until I began using the net again. They did suggest switching off 3G, but since I bought the phone specifically on the promise of a fast connection and HSPDA speeds, that really is an unacceptable solution! I appreciate that signal varies etc - but if a central location where I work isnt good enough, then T-Mobile really shouldnt be advertising themselves as a 3G network!
As it happens, voicemail was switched off on the account. It got put back on again a week ago - and sods law - things now seem to be working, though internet speeds are still very slow.

When I phoned, I was just looking to get a repair, but it was them that offered a Vario 3 which I accepted. It was agreed for them to be sending the set to me (last Thursday) but all that arrived was a grey bag to send my old one back. I spoke with them at great length again last night and suggested a straight courier swap so I wasn't without a phone. They went through to their repair department, who have now flatly refused the phone change - despite it being agreed already!
Anyway I spoke to another manager who went through my "book" of notes and quoted the sale of goods act and merchandisable quality thing and he has agreed they really have to address this. He is phoning me back today and he did come across as helpful and reasonable. (The second one in 2 weeks - must be a record!!!)
I do agree though, that this issue is likely to be the network and not the phone. I would really love to use O2 as at work and home I get 100% coverage and never had any problems at all - but I ain't paying their data rates! Maybe 3 will be ok - but again, when I had them a few years back, at home they were dire so never bothered again. But one thing is pretty certain, in 5 months time, T-Mobile will be history unless they make amends in a big way and these problems become non existant.
Thanks for your help..... its appreciated.

Never seen a problem LIKE THAT ...

I`m having an awful problem with my HD2.
When using the GSM Band the phone drops almost all of the calls when I cover the proximity sensor. I have tried all ROMs till now but that didn`t help. Also made several hard resets ...
So after a hard reset the Network Band is set always to AUTO. At AUTO when the phone switches from 3G to GSM it automatically ends the call. That`s why I tried using just 3G. When using 3G I don`t get drop calls. But when I tried the GSM option I get it all the time. I have 3 or 4 signal lines, but it still drops the calls.
When I don`t cover the proximity sensor and leave the phone on the table the call doesn`t drop at all - it works perfect in GSM or 3G. That`s strangest part of the problem. How come the proximity sensor has anything to do with the Band of the phone ???
I don`t know exactly what to do .. don`t want to get the phone to repair center because it will take a lot of time to be returned.
Someone had a same issue? Or if someone knows a way to fix this ?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCED !!!

Really someone ?
Have you tried a hardreset? The proximitysensor shouldnt interfere with the radio and definately not drop calls... Have you tweaked your device using an app (ie BsB or similar)?
have you tried a new radio?
Device works like this Hardware<->radio<->rom
So the radio communicates with the hardware and the rom with the radio.
So the radio commands all the hardware functions, not only the "radio" components.
So with a new radio you can have a better way off communication with the hardware and with the rom
I've just tested, and this doesn't happen to me.
However, there is an update for the radio available (actually, it's that SIM Contacts update). Did you apply it? For I didn't do that yet.
And in case you have, it would be interesting to know if others who have applied the update are facing similar problems...
Are you sure that you're not holding the phone at the bottom/back when you test the proximity sensor, I've noticed that touching this area of the phone (where the antenna is located) can have a massive difference to signal strength and in weak areas it can make you drop the call everytime.
WoW ...
Thank you for so many replies.
1st. SMUPPY - I`ve tried all official ROM`s + several cooked ROM`s + 1.61. I also tried without any applications installed, just after I make a hardreset (have made over 50 at least ). Same situation.
2nd. thomas_pieps - Now I`ll try installing ALL different radio ROM`s out there and see if anything helps. Thanks !
3rd. amang2205 - I don`t know about that SIM Contacts update ... will try and post results !
4th. Noony - I never had problems with the reception of signal at all. It happens when the signal is strong enough to drop calls. I tested it with the phone on the table, so without holding it. Immediately after covering the proximity sensor with my hand the call is dropped. So that`s not the issue here!
Thanks all again for all replies. Hope I can fix something !
UPDATE !!!!
Tried installing the hotfix and tried all different radio ROM`s out there.
SAME RESULT .... the problem still exists.
It was an obvious result because as I said previously, that happened also when using the first 1.43 ROM without installing any radio ROM`s or any other 3rd party software. Also after hard reset the result was the same. So I don`t think it`s the radio.
Just can`t figure it out. How come the proximity sensor has anything to do with the network BAND I select ?
How can that be connected ? I would make a video showing exactly where the problem is ....
This is sounding more and more like a hardware fault. The PS should not have any impact on the call connection.
You need to speak to customer support from where you bought it, and ask for a replacement. If you do this, make sure you flash the original ROM back to it
I have another (I assume) hardware issue, because I can`t turn my phone completely off. After selecting TURN OFF it just restarts, or whenever I pull out the battery and place it again the phone starts alone, without me having to press the power button.
Maybe it has something to do with the other problem ... I don`t really know.
The only solution is to go to the store I bought it from .... MAYBE it`s just that!
yep, it sounds like your phone definitely has a case of the crazies. flash back to original spl + stock rom and get a replacement.

That is *very* true. Question is: how the h*ll am I supposed to hold the phone, if covering the back with my hand causes the signal to drop?

I'm not an expert or anything
but it looks like you have a problem with the OFF Button. As this button responcible for turning the phone on/off and ending the calls as well..
so maybe there is an electrical problem with the phone and it glitches..
any way
good luck

Thought of that too. Maybe it`s something like that. I remember the first time I realized there is a problem ... the OFF button stopped working at all after doing something with the phone (don`t remember what, but it wasn`t anything unusual). It wasn`t functioning for couple of hours and then it started working again. After that happened I started finding problems. So maybe you`re right. Maybe it`s the electricity or something. If there is an expert with hardware around here, maybe he can tell the actual reason for why this is happening.
Strange that it has connection with the network band and with the proximity sensor. If someone had explained a problem like that to me, I would not believe that it`s true. It sounds so strange ...

Need help with Proximity Sensor Problem

I open a new thread because those already opened are quite dead... the subject is the proximity sensor on the HTC HD2... as i described in oter places this is the behaviour:
Upon receiving calls ALL works as it should
Sometimes when making a call:
1. dial a number
2. press talk
3. take the phone to my ear
4. the screen turns off
5. it starts ringing
6. THE SCREEN GOES ON
7. take the phone from my ear and put it back
8. the screen goes off
9. it answers on the other side
10. THE SCREEN GOES ON
11. take the phone from my ear and put it back
12. the screen goes off and all works well from now on on this call
I have at least a number that EVERYTIME when called does not acts like this... the proximity sensor does its job very well
I have at least one numbet that almost always did the steps described from 1to 12... only 4-5 times it didn't
If i get a busy tone the screen turns on... it will turn of if i do step 7
I've put back original rom and i have the same behaviour. I tried with clean roms and noting installed... still the same...
One time on a clean rom... I called a number that always did that and the first two calls were ok, after that it started again...
Now I'm using Hyper ROM 8.0 and I see that after step 6 if i keep the phone to my ear th screen will turn itself off after a sec or so... i cannot say right now if always...
Considering that this does not happens to many of us and it is not something permanent I think it can have something to do with the network... I don't know exactly what but this is my guess; like in the moments the screen turns on maybe the networks sends out a "signal" like the call would be over... I know it sounds weird but I don't know what else to think...
I even attached a poll to see who gets this behaviour...
So, to all the CHEFS out there... please help.... because HTC is not willing to... they're answer was not helping at all...
This is weird... I use netDrg's 2.5g ROM and I have no issue with the proximity sensor. Sometimes, when receiving a call, if I rotate the phone from portrait to landscape and then immediately take it to my ear, the screen doesn't turn off, but as soon as the display is back to portrait mode, it turns off. This isn't annoying at all, since I rarely pick up the phone and hold it in landscape to talk !
Maybe you should try a different ROM ? If you understand French well, netDrg's ROM is quite good, although it seems to me that the battery drains faster than with the stock ROM...
french is fine.. actually i would learn any language just to have this fixed... i know about landscape and sensor not working... but it is not the case here
it happens so aleatory... i would think it is a hardware issue... BUT i have one number and with it, this NEVER happened
i had almost all the cleanex suite... touch-x, energy and others... i really can't remeber if this happend since the first day i bought it... i've put back the stock rom downloaded from htc and still the same...
ok... i've made like 15-20 calls to the same number and all worked as it should... than all of a sudden it started to do what i've described in first post... just like this... i'm starting to hate this phone...
it looks like i'm not the only one with this issue... how you guys got it solved?..
just a thought... what triggers the screen on on this phone... i know that some apps open the screen... maybe there is a registry tweak to keep the screen off if proximity detected... this should be done automaticly i know... the fact is that the proximity sensor works...
uhm, just to point it out, you should edit your post instead of posting 4 messages in a row in the same thread
Anyway, this is the exact same problem I noticed reported in another thread, and I didn't have it, I mostly receive and rarely call, yet the few times I called I don't seem to remember such problems, will try and remember to test with my other mobile when I get back home.
today i went back to default rom that came with my phone...
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_EastEurope_1.48.479.1_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
and still it does the same
i HSPL again and than put
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
the same thing
if I call my home landline it works perfectly... if i call one of the numbers i was telling you about it acts like described in post #1
one other thing i discovered though... with the original roms there is a courtain over the buttons on the phone canvas... this not only blocks aditional buttons on the screen but also blocks the top taskbar... wich is a goos thing
anyway for a 4-500 euros phone this thing i'm having shouldn't happen...
still searching... i've seens something with Rilphone.dll... can this make a difference?
LE: Rilphone.dll broke thephone module... hard reset...
Same here ccezar
I only realised in the last couple of weeks that I've hung up on people a few times & sometimes I've tried making the same call on the spot like 5 times in a row & the line has been cut off before it evens rings, which brings me to say that different behaviours on different calling numbers is just a coincidence.
Sort of experimenting at the moment, I think that when I dial, & put the phone to my ear slowly it works. i can see the screen turn off, & the call goes smoothly. Although after I've hung up sometimes the comm manager or arkswitch is on my screen, which only mean that the taskbar is still active...
I almost thought that the screen may have been switching off but the touch function was still there at least for a few more seconds...
There are hundreds(thousands maybe) of us HD2 owners out there, so my feeling is that if there ain't many complaints, it may aswell be a faulty device.
Then again I wonder if that phone canvs slider would make a diference? Anyone know if there's cab for this?
What radio you using
The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that the 2.10.... radios is the culprit for me.
I just flashed my old 2.07.50.27_2 radio, will test for a day or so and see what happens.
If your on a 2.10.50.. radio urself or anyone with the same prob and radio, can I suggest you downgrade to a 2.07 or 2.08/ or 2.09 for euros?
i thought also that it is radio raleted... i tried other radios and still the same...
anyway i don't think it is hardware related... because i have at least one number that never ever got this behaviour... and neither when calling landlines... it is only on some numbers on mobile networks... and i have numbers that get this behaviour only from time to time...
so... how does the proximity sensor works?... when in a call (there is a reg key that appears upon making a call and says activecallcount=1) the proximity sensor activates... if something in the way it turns the screen off... if the call ends the proximity sensor is deactivated... this is where i dont have exact facts... like if i keep the phone to my ear if it will remain with the screen off or once the call ended the screen goes on... i'd go for the second one...
so... my belief is that is has to do with network parameters... you make the call and on steps 5 and 9 from first post i think the phone belives that the call is over... and i guess the network sends a signal that triggers that... i know it sounds like a fairytale...
now i will try to find a sim card from another mobile operator and see if it does the same... i already tried with another seem from my operator and there is no change... maybe if i try a different sim type (there are simple and 3G sims - i have a simple one)
i'll keep digging... anyway... at least one mobile number and all landlines numbers this NEVER HAPPENED...
well that just makes sense ccezar. I'll do the same over the weekend & see what happens.
with another providers sim card that is.
Hey when say you tried with nothing installed, was cookie's hometab on the rom? just a thought
i don't think so... because i also tried with a stock original rom...
LE: i just realized that my phone is network locked... how can i unlock it?

I couldn't tell ya, I can suggest that if you're on a contract your paying for the phone anyway, so you should be able to ring the phone op & ask them for the codes. Where I am, the only time I couldn't have it unlocked is if it was pre paid & less than 12 months old.
after long debates that's the conclusion of HTC
The only option that is left now is to send the device to the Repair Centre so the engineers could examine it. Your device is still under the warranty. But after the diagnosis the engineers will determine whether the fault of the unit is due to misusage, accidental damage or a manufactured fault. Before proceeding with the repair you’ll be notified with the cost of the repair, if it is an out of warranty case. Kindly note that your phone has a global warranty, which means if you have any issues with the phone and would like to get it examined (repaired) it will be through one of our global repair centers Please follow the link below for information about those repair centers. http://www.htc.com/uk/CA_Hotline.aspx?region=GWS Bear in mind as well that if you have European warranty, you’ll be able to repair your phone in any official repair centre in the European Union. Thank you for using HTC products. Please contact us again if you have any questions. Best Regards, HTC Team

Is It Broke?

Hi All,
Got my HD2 yestreday (unlocked, supposedly, from Ebay).
I cant make or take calls, nor can i send txt's etc. There is an exclamation mark next to the reception indicator(if thats what its called)?
Is it broke? - is it locked? - Is it a stolen phone whicha has somehow been "blocked"?.
Please help guys!
Without knowing if it's definitely been unlocked it may just still be locked to it's original network in which case you'd need to buy an unlock code.
If that's the case then no need to worry - however if it's been blacklisted (reported as stolen / lost etc) then it's going to be pretty much useless, but i don't think there's a way of finding out if it's been blacklisted.
Have you tried removing and re-inserting the sim card etc?
Does it have any branding in the software to indicate which network it belonged to originally such as a branded boot screen?
Then of course it may even just be faulty....
Hiya, thanks for that. The box has an Orange sticker on - but there is no software branding.
OK - i dont suppose you have an orange sim to hand or know anyone you could borrow one from to try in the phone - it would at least prove that it's just a network lock and nothing more serious.
The one thing i note from google though is that you get a "your handset is locked" screen when an unuseable sim is in the handset? and you switch it on? And i dont get that?
I have bought an unlock code - but dont know how to get to a screen that will allow me to enter it?
I'm not too sure what is displayed on the screen in the event of an incorrect sim as mine was factory unlocked when i bought it.
It may have been better to wait and prove the phone is just simlocked before buying an unlock code because if the phone is blacklisted or faulty then that code's useless.
I completely agree, but you know what men/gadgets are like - you want it working NOW!
Haha yeah too true mate
I'm not too sure what else to suggest, you really need to find out if its just a simlock or worse..
Good luck getting it working though
Oh just a further thing to try - a hard reset
Start >> Settings >> Security >> Factory Reset
Enter 1234 into the box and then press 'yes'
Still the same :-(
But i now have a G icon!
When i boot up i get a "which network do you want to choose" message - to which i select Vodafone, but we still have the exclamation mark - and no calls/txts etc......
Have you tried HSPL'ing ur device and flashing diffrent radio?
Hiya, sorry, how do i do that?
Hi, ive found that thread - but when i try it says on my pc - cannot initialize as Rapi.dll not found?
Ok - now done - still same problem?
It was network blocked (barred), due to non-payment of bill.
Long story short, ive ordered a Desire now.
Ah Sorry to hear that mate. Hope your getting a refund sorted out ok with the dodgy ebayer..
Have fun with the Desire!
Should be ok for the refund - after all its a shop (cash converters type place), and i have threatened them with the police.
Before i sent it back i got going with a great rom though (albeit unable to call and txt!), the WM Pro user 2.02 - looked fab!
