I tried a few cooked roms and I like some things about them and others I dont, so I was going to flash my phone back to stock and if there are any upgrades/updates I would like to do so also.... Please advise me, should I do this why or why not... and How can I go about doing this ? (Would I just use hspl2 1024 and reinstall 2.08 first, then install the latest stock rom ? -but where can I find the latest official stock rom?-can I get it from htc? )....
thanks in adavance...
If you have already run hspl2 there is no need to do it again. All you need to do is download the shipped rom (available here and at ppcgeeks.com) and flash it. There haven't been any updates for the stock rom as of yet. Your personal choice on if you want custom rom or stock. Custom roms usually have less bloatware and performance enhancements that make them ideal over the stock rom.

looking for help
I installed hspl 2.08.0000 and flashed a custom rom, then I tried to flashed a vodafone Uk shipped Rom and now my Hd2 won't even boot up, when I connect it to the usb windows xp sees the device and tries to install a driver but then fails to find a driver. I cant even use mtty because usb is not listed as one of the selections. does anyone know how to help Please
Could be because you flashed a shipped rom that is for a different device. The european HD2 is different than the US HD2. If you have a US HD2 flash a rom that is designed for 1024 Leo (recommend Miri and Steve's Eleganicia). Put the phone in bootloader and then flash from pc or you can rename the .nbh from a rom to LEOIMG.nbh and place that in the root of your storage card to flash. Can get to bootloader by holding volume down and pressing the reset button under the back cover, holding vol key til tri-colored screen appears.
it wont let me get into bootloader mode, my computer does see the hd2 but wont let me access the usb
Maybe someone else can chime to correct me if im wrong but sounds like you now have one expensive paper weight. Flashing a rom that is not for your phone is not good.
Flashing a Euro Rom on your TmoUS HD2 will brick your phone - for good. Why are so many people doing this?
tmo are sure to get wise to this and stop replacing them at this rate. I've seen 6 or 7 people with the same problem in two days.
Guys with a tmous,
1 - DONT flash any stock roms except the one from tmous. Stock roms include a radio and it will kill your phone.
2 - DONT flash any radio with a .51. in the version. It will kill your phone.
3 - dont flash any cooked rom not based on the 2.10 rom. It will kill your phone. (i think, , , possibly recoverable, not sure yet)
4 - most of all read first, flash later.
OK PLEASE do not hijack the topic,
Remember I asked how can I reset my phone back to completely stock (like when I first bought it).... and then after that I would like to update it (if there are any updates)....
Thanks for all the advice so far...

2 ways.
1 - connect phone via USB, run hspl1024, choose spl 2.08.0000, thats your spl back to stock. Then flash the tmous 2.1 rom over usb, thats your radio and rom returned to stock.
2 - you can get the tmous 2.1 rom, extract the file ruu_signed.nbh, copy it to sd card, rename it leoimg.nbh and reset your phone, which will see the nbh file and flash it, and because it is from sd card it will also reset the spl (and radio) to stock.
i'd go for option 1, as i haven't read much about people flashing sd card on the tmous, so for now steer clear.

it's the spl that voids the warranty, not the rom. when you boot to bootloader, so long as it says
spl 2.08.0000
then you are good to go.
Thank you!
Because my phone keeps freezing about 5 times a day am thinking of flashing this rom (have the leoimg file on my sd card ready to install). Just want to know, now it's been out for a few weeks, what everyones thoughts on it is? Still fast & stable? No other issues?
Cheers
dont flash via sd card! it can overwrite ur spl >.<! do it only via usb on a computer!
Overwriting the SPL won't be a problem as I need a stock spl if I ever want to send it back for repair. + I can always reflash hpsl2 if needs be
Seems OK
Only problem I had was I re-installed .NET3.5, as I didn't trealise the new rom contains a later version.
It ran like a very very slow thing until I un-installed.

flash the stock rom via sd card at your peril, the spl will be changed to 2.something witch is not stock and hspl2 can't change it
also if you send the phone for repairs with the 2.? spl in it tmobile will most likely void the warranty.
ps why don't you try Artemis, the roms are very fast and great for every day use.
Sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm in a hurry since I'm at work. I need to get a replacement phone from tmobile, and I'm pretty sure that since I installed Elegancia, my warranty is voided. What all do I need to do in order to get everything back to normal?
I'm not sure but you must use the same tool. to unistalled. HSPL2_1024.run. to revert it. 2.08.HSPL to 2.08.0000. and then flash to original rom.
Or flash a stock ROM (found in the stickies) from your SD card. That will overwrite the HardSPL. But don't use the 16GB card that came with the phone. It will usually not work using that card. Format a different (preferably class 6) SD card and copy the stock LEOIMG.nbh file to it and flash from there.
or just flash it to the stock rom via USB cable. Pretty much the same process you used to flash to the custom rom you have now it's the exact same thing when flashing to stock rom. Look in the HD2 Tmobile ROM section and get the latest one. That's all you need.

From what I have read and understand, this is bad information (although I haven't actually tried it to verify that it would work or not). From all of the information that the experts have provided in theses forums, you need to flash the stock ROM from the SD card in order to overwrite the HSPL. The HSPL would not be overwritten if flashing via USB and active sync.
i got my replacement and i sent my phone in with a custom rom.
but to go back to stock it's just like you setting up a custom rom, find the original rom you want there are 2 that's out for the phone( the one shipped and the update) and your all set
i just sent in my custom rommed phone also, they didn't care.

hi , as above.
i flash android nand into my phone today , and i didnt formatted my sd card to the partition hence it couldnt work.
and i remove the sd card reformatted and wanted to try flashing back to stock rom
and then i couldnt flash back to stock rom so i placed the LEOIMG.nbh file in my sd card and rebooted.
before that i couldnt get into boot loader ,
now when i on my phone it says software update fail , and it gets into the tri color screen and stays there.
i dont know what to do . help please
it says spl 3.03 in the tri color screen
CAN SERIOUSLY ANYONE HELP ME ? ive spend whole day looking through.
whole day follow steps , but some tut just dont show ALL STEPS CLEARLY or even mention them
i dont know what i should do . Its killing me , ive started from WP7 - 6.5 - ANDROID now all doesnt work all it keeps giving me problem with the flashing part.
FYI : i flash a stock rom not a cooked rom
im a pissed user now , im not blaming XDA , i know its all my fault for not following steps but im certain i did.
its been 4 days , ive been doing this from 9pm till 2am - 3am straight. looking at all these replies , im getting nowhere.
its very exhausting.
So your device is on the tri color screen? And flashing through usb doesn't work when on the tri color screen? And flashing from sd card doesn't work either? Well I think your device is bricked then, with no way out.

Try a different sd card or computer
spl 3.03
i had the same issue with my HD2.
can you please give more detail about your HD2: Brand, original stock ROM, original SPL, Radio...
In the xda forum there are some threads about going to original spl.
Your phone is not bricked but relocked cause flashing from sd card removes HSPL.
Check all buttons in the phone. The same happened me in other HTC phone and was a button (in spanish: Trabado)
Maybe it's not the same for you.
sounds to me like you had hspl installed, flashed a stock rom via sd card, but used any old stock rom, not the correct one for your phone so it removed hspl, installed 3.03.0000 then failed because its teh wrong rom.
solution
use the correct rom. sd or usb, doesn't matter.

you said you can still go into bootloader? from there, do you see that you still have HSPL or stock SPL. if you have HSPL, then connect your phone to a computer and flash the rom from your computer and not from sd card.

Radio im using before that was 2.15
--------- help guys
its all ive done , place .nbh in sd card , rename to LEOIMG and boot.
flashing through USB doesn't works as it keep saying invalid model ID or error ..
Go to the official Htc website. There's 2 ROMs to download from the Singapore area of the site. Get both of them. Start with the new one. Go into the tri-colour screen. Flash from there. If the phone still doesn't boot try the old one. Make sure you get the correct roms. Let me know what happens.
Flashing from the sd card has wiped hspl, and the radio and replaced them. Just so you know, but your phone is still fine.

Hi there
My hd2 recenlty cause me trouble not charging. After a little try and no luck i decided to sent it back for repair.
So the question: how can i restore the phone to warranty status?
I' already flash the stock rom twice. Via activesync and then from sd card. Finally a hard reset is made just in case. Do i have to do anything else? Does anybody has prior experience with warranty issues?
Thx, in advance.
If you have flashed the stock ROM for hour HD2 via SD card then you should be good to go for warranty reair. Just boot into bootloader to make sire you now have SPL o
Code:
not HSPL still. You ahould have SPL though now.
Ok, i have SPL. Thx mate
