To get to the stock recovery to wipe data and cache, hold the power button and x on your keyboard. When the triangle comes up, press the magnifine glass to get to the recovery menu.
If that doesn't work, you might have to sbf

tried what you said, Still not letting me access the menu, I guess i'll have to sbf when I get home

P3Droid said earlier that the first gingerbread release had a dev recovery, which wouldn't work on our phones, hence why you couldn't get in it. He has recently released another gingerbread with the regular recovery.

Quick stuck in boot loop

I downloaded squidly's new rom and then i downloaded a kangerade theme, now know they obviously don't mix. My phone will turn on and act normal and then restart and keep going through a boot loop. Is there anything I can do? Please let me know right away, I'm kind of new to droid 2 since i just switched from a D1 please help.
You will most likely have to SBF. did you do a nandroid before installing the theme?
I do, but I don't know how to sbf, I have nanadroid, but to be honest i probably messed my phone up even more because I did a factory reset (X and power button, search bar.) I get into the android set up screen and Kangerade is STILL on... It does the continuous loop again...

Try these steps first.
Code:
1. Pull your Battery.
2. Replace battery and power on while holding down the X key.
3. Wait for the android triangle to load.
4. Press the Search key (the magnifying glass)
5. Use down arrow and navigate to wipe cache partition and press OK.
6. Use down arrow and navigate to wipe data and press OK.
7. Reboot phone.
If this does not get you out of the bootloop you will need to SBF. Please see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804088
Thanks, it didn't work, I'll try that thread hopefully I can get it all figured out still a little confused though. Thanks for the help.

Wipe data and cache from the stock recovery.
1. Pull your battery.
2. Turn on your phone while holding the 'up' arrow on the keyboard
3. Hold until you are in stock recovery.
4. Press the magnifying glass on the keyboard to see the menu
5. Select data wipe and then cache wipe (using the volume buttons. or arrow keys and the camera or 'ok' button to select)
6. Then reboot system and you should be good to go.

You have to borrow somebody's charged battery. Or find a way to get yours charged because the phone won't charge without some software running.
Once you get a working battery try the steps I gave you to get into stock recovery if you would like/need more help with any of the steps just let me know.
(the D1's battery will work if you have a friend with a D1. I don't know about the DX though.)

Did you try to SBF while running a ROM? I think its best be rooted stock at least to SBF. I had problems SBFing if I wasn't stock.
ok, i got a battery. but when i try to use the up arrow and power button to get into recovery it just goes into bootloader. i sbf'd from fission 2.2.1. so yea, i was runnin a rom. ive never had so much trouble messin with a phone before. i know its not bricked but i am getting frustrated...
BOOM!!! Got it baby!! OK, so its x and power to boot into stock recovery. Worked like a charm! And on the bright side, i scored a D1 for 100. I needed a battery, buddy had a nearly perfect droid...hooked it up

[Q] Droid 2 Problem

i recently tried to install matt's epic unleashed 3.0 rom. the install completed and all, but when my phone booted up the touch screen wasnt working. ive booted into the stock recovery and erased everything but it still does the same thing. is there any way for me to sbf my phone?
Don't have too much knowledge of that ROM, but I still want to throw in my two cents... When you turn on the phone hold the "up" arrow key and it should go into the bootloader screen and be ready for an spf.
thanks man thats exactly what i needed
edit- nope, nevermind. it boots to the flash screen but when i connect it to my computer it says the device malfunctioned on my computer screen
yea, this is bad. its not sbfing, rsdlite doesnt complete, any ideas guys?
Ok after it says "failed" or whatever is it going into bootloops? Try powering on and holding the "X" key and then you should get the android with the triangle symbol. Press the "search" key on the keyboard and wipe cache and factory reset. Then reboot and you should be all set.

New here HELP

Hi, My friend has a droid x, and I tried to install the galaxy S theme on it for him, and it installed fine, but when I turned on the phone it would boot loop, (running stock Froyo) so I told him to wipe data/Cache, and now the phone won't get pass the galaxy s logo, what do I do?
Im also new at this so just making a suggestion. Hold the power button and home button down at the same time. A triangle with exclamation will appear. Press the search menu button. Use the volume buttons to scroll up or down. Could try wipe/factory reset if you have everything backed up or easy to reload.Once scrolled down to that option hit the camera button to perform the operation. I guess u pulled the battery first to see if that would reset? Again Im new at this and have done it myself but try at your own risk if there are no other replys.
Try that. If that doesn't work you may need to sbf your phone.

{Fixed} bootloop GB installation error... phone wont access stock recovery

I was interested in the recently leaked gb updates from verizon. I used this site http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...rbread-2-3-3-release-prerooted.html#post61686 to get gingerbread with root preinstalled. Now the thing is i'm stuck at bootloop everytime for more than 40mins (unable to reach homescreen) and when i try to access stock recovery (x and power key) the search key won't access the 4 menu stock recovery options.
This really frustrating since i cant even sbf the phone properly (needs to reach homescreen) any solutions?
Edit- "Remove battery, reinsert.
Open keyboard and hold the X.
Then while holding x turn the phone on and let go of the power button but keep holding the X
You should get a little green android. Now let go of everything.
Now push the volume up and down at the same time OR press the search button in the keyboard (magnifying glass). A blue menu should come up allowing you to clear cache and wipe/restore. "
for anyone who has trouble getting through bootloop problems
When trying to boot into stock recovery I get a little green android with an exclamation point, I cant seem to figure out what to do from here.
Folks need to learn how to read the tutorial before you post 900 different threads on the forum. Reading > you

I just had this problem.
My recovery wasn't working, loading into the blue screen.
Download Download RSD Lite, the 2.3.20 SBF from MDW.
Start phone using power + up on dpad
Flash phone with sbf.
It should failed (at least for me)
Do a battery pull and start phone with power + x
when the android caution pic appears press the search button on the keyboard
do a wipe
What happened here, people stopped searching again!
Please read people

Please don't post questions in the development section. They belong in the general section. Thanks.

As far is i can tell there is no need for a development section for the d2. For a phone thats been out forever theres nothing for it. Garbage
