So guys see i dont know to to automatically install it can anyone tell me how? i tryed to download to the phone but it didnt work because i got an error. When i try to mannualy install it i download files to pc and the with the usb i passed them to my phone. When i open my file manager ghost commander i tryed to copy the 3 files busybox clock.. and the xrecovery.tar to the system/bin folder. THe busybox nad the clock.. were copied but the xrecovery didnt so if can anyone help me i would really appreciate it
Thank you in advance
Hi,
I don't think it's possible to automatically install xrecovery.
You can find informations and tutos here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881614
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426
Hope it will be useful for you.
man see
- Download and unpack the recovery package
- use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
- copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder
this is what i have to do but how do i remount the system?
and when i copy the 3 files i got an error and the xrecovery.tar isnt copied
but the 2 other files are.
After you unpack those 3 files to sd card use root explorer to copy them into system/bin
in bin folder you have to mount r/w,there's button in right corner of the screen
after you move them, you have to set permissions for them
so the only way to do it is to buy the root explorer?
Thank you very much
guys i did everything that it said but still when the logo of SE appears the one with the icon of SE i press back and nothing is happening. Is this because i had the busybox installed from an app of the market named busybox installed?

Very probably with the busybox version you installed is NOT compatible with xRecovery, I tried different busybox, and finally got it work, hope this may help.

Easy way To Install Xrecovery on X8

I've got a rooted X8 running SE Android 2.1 update 1 and was wondering if there was an easy way to install xrecovery using .apx files or does it have to be done using cmd and scrips?

I've installed xrecovery from that thread, but my phone just boots as normal when I try to boot into xrecovery by pressing the back button a few times.
Roland
workd for me on X8!
Had to make some reboots and it kept booting back alone, but about the 3rd boot worked fine!
Just keep pressing-tapping back button untill you get in... Lol.
If you had done something wrong, your phone was likely not to start at all... ("0.0)
I have mannualy installed the 3 xrecovery files and xrecovery work fine.

Help Truied seraching!

I need help installing this custom rom! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223
I dont know at all what to do?
What is the adb push?
How do I root? I cant Find xrecovery? What do I need to do with rom in order for it to work?
I dont understand any terminology? Could someone please put up a guide step by step so idiots like me can understand for this rom. I have x8 with offical 2.1 on it? Also can i reinstall 2.1 original rom after?
Thanks
Oh god. If you've so many troubles with merely searching for info maybe you shouldn't even start?...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682 - rooting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426 - xrecovery
Then you go into xrecovery and do what's said in miniCM thread. Enjoy.
E: And as for going back to 2.1 - once you have xrecovery simply make a backup with it, if you don't like CM you can always recover your original rom. Just remember - rooting voids your varranty
dontworry I got a refund for a rooted phone! LOL
Also how do I install xrecovery? I dont understand this:
Manual Installation:
- Download and unpack the recovery package
- use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
- copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder
and there is no auto install. Also can I unroot the phone? And remove xrecovery?
Well, I actually do have a xrecovery autoinstall apk which you can download somewhere on this portal, can't exactly remember where - look it up.
As for unrooting - you can do it via superoneclick or by simply deleting superuser.apk.
Xrecovery you normally install by placing its files in proper directories through root explorer app, so once you erase them you no longer have xrecovery. If you find this autoinstall app you'll get these files placed in correct directories automatically, but it's not that hard to do manually

The simpliest way to install CWM is to plug your phone with debugging mode to your PC and run DMR.bat from this file. More information you'll find in this post.

Mount r/w for /system in root explorer and then copy the files over. GingerDX does not need CWM recovery, it only needs xRecovery to install. So root your x8, install xRecovery, backup phone, full wipe, install GingerDX, wipe cache and dalvik-cache and then reboot. Tada! GingerDX will be running on your phone.
Tada! MD5 missmatch? Did you know how to fix it? Thx again
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Search for "md5 mismatch" on xda.
By the way:
When did you get this?
Because you can get this only when you flash a ROM/backup that consists of syste.img, data.img, cache.img and nandroid.md5 and GingerDX is in an update.zip, so it´s only a .zip-file that contains the /system-folder and a script that makes it flashable in a recovery, so you can´t get a md5 mismatch on this.
hey bro you need xrecovery version 0.1 and you flash it try first a Ginger DX v09 like i d then upgrade ginger dx have clockowrmod installed you can reboot in it i will post a link
Latest versions of GingerDX for X8 need CWM
and I have xRecovery installed on my stock rom. I would update first to CWM my phone and then install GingerDX v016...what I should do? I don't want to brick my phone! Anyone could explain me the correct procedure? Thanks

Flash dualboot with xrecovery then you will have cwm and xrecovery at the same time. You can find dualboot.zip from the multiboot thread

URGENT i need help!! I bed you guyss!! =(

well my english is not the best, but i'll try to explain my problem to you guys,,,, so i wanted to install the w8 launcher on my x8 so i pasted the apk on my system/app folder and reboot,, but when i turn it on again it's FC and cant do anything but pulldown the notificatons bar,,,, what i have to do? im scared i love my xperia =( help me please guys!
You managed to paste it in your system folder so I'm assuming your phone is rooted and have recovery installed, so revert to your latest back-up via Xrecovery
Or easly, copy launcher pro app to the same folder and delete w8 launcher.

if your X8 is rooted you could use adb from your pc... It's a command line but you cand do everything using it!
