URGENT i need help!! I bed you guyss!! =( - XPERIA X8 General

well my english is not the best, but i'll try to explain my problem to you guys,,,, so i wanted to install the w8 launcher on my x8 so i pasted the apk on my system/app folder and reboot,, but when i turn it on again it's FC and cant do anything but pulldown the notificatons bar,,,, what i have to do? im scared i love my xperia =( help me please guys!

You managed to paste it in your system folder so I'm assuming your phone is rooted and have recovery installed, so revert to your latest back-up via Xrecovery

Or easly, copy launcher pro app to the same folder and delete w8 launcher.

if your X8 is rooted you could use adb from your pc... It's a command line but you cand do everything using it!

application not installing?
Hi, when I am installing stock.apk and the widget it goes to the installer and just cancels on me I tried this multiple times and things aren't working for me. .
Any suggestions on how to fix this I really like the stock ticker option for the widget.
I am running Warm 2.2 rls5 on htc incredible with the stock ziggy kernal
Thank You:
Alexyaz
same here
I can start the installation and there is a processbar. But in the end it just says that the application has not been installed.
Is there a log file that could hint anything?
don't install it like a normal APK, copy it directly to /system/app with ADB or Root Explorer.
Swyped from my HTC Desire running LeeDrOiD 2.3d with Tapatalk.
How To install via ADB
* Restart your phone in recovery mode.
* Make sure you connected your phone to your machine
* Open console on your machine (any OS)
* Navigate to android sdk path (ex in windows- c:\dev\android-sdk\platforms-tools)
* Execute the following command,
>adb shell mount /system
>adb push <pathtoapk> /system/app
Click to collapse
Voila! done.
Reboot from your recovery.

I accidentally deleted this from the stock rom through Titanium and now I'm trying to get it back. I moved the APK to the /system/app folder with Root Explorer and it's still not showing up. I will try the ADB route tonight.

Help: How to rename file in System folder

Hello everybody,
Unfortunately, I get by in a change that I have blocked the start of my Galaxy S.
I wanted to remove the animation in the initial activation of Vodafone and I discovered that the file "indicted" was playlogos1 (I think) so I renamed the file with Root Explorer as playlogos1.bak.
I rebooted the phone and while booting it shows me your phone model, as it always has, and then black screen occasionally emitting vibrations ...
I think the problem can be solved by putting the name of the file as it was originally: playlogos1
Do you know how to do it if you can do to access the folder /System/ bin in which there is rename the file to your phone via pc being in this situation?
Thank you all!!
NOTE: Sorry for my english but.... I'm italian!
Try root explorer - its a paid app, but i feel its worth it.
Obviously your phone has to be rooted to use it

Sounds like he has root explorer and has renamed a file and is now stuck in a boot loop?
Is that right?
If so boot into recovery and do a factory reset and that should fix the problem.
But you will lose all of your apps etc.

Thanks to everybody.
In effect the phone was rooted and I have used Root Explorer to rename the file but noe I'm looking for a method to access via ADB to the phone as "su" to rename the file playlogos1.
Who know how to copy update.zip on /sdcard without touch the phone (because is blocked)?
ADB can see your phone in recovery mode. However the things you can do are limited... I think you might be able to rename the file that way.

In recovery mode I'm not able to connect via ADB...only if I start the phone normaly.
Other big problem is to have r/w permission to rename the file

I've installed xrecovery from that thread, but my phone just boots as normal when I try to boot into xrecovery by pressing the back button a few times.
Roland
workd for me on X8!
Had to make some reboots and it kept booting back alone, but about the 3rd boot worked fine!
Just keep pressing-tapping back button untill you get in... Lol.
If you had done something wrong, your phone was likely not to start at all... ("0.0)
I have mannualy installed the 3 xrecovery files and xrecovery work fine.

[Q] LCD Densitity help..

Hi, I recently rooted my X10 mini pro using Z4ROOT, I then messed around with a few settings using liberty tools, I changed the LCD density and now my icons are big and ugly, I cannot change the density back to 120, it just stays the same.
I have also tried to root it properly using android SDK, however, this has no success at all at rooting my device.
I have tried copying and editing build.prop (I opened it up on notepad and changed the density value to 120) and tried to paste it back into system, would you know it I dont have permissions.
I have also tried to edit the original build prop file using a text editing app i have installed on my device.
How can i change my LCD Density back to its original state??
Thanks,
THEONEANDONLYSIMMO

How do I flash it back to the stock 2.1?
use seus or flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
i cant click accept on the superuser request mate... no point in tryin
Bump, please help me...
flash back to 2.1 with flashtool and then use the flashtool to root. You don't need superuser permission to get into flash mode. You obviously didn't really root the device or you would be able to grant SU permissions. Also there is an X10 Mini Pro forum you should have posted there.

Use adb mask controller...it's somewhere in the forum i don't know exactly where. It's easy to use..btw don t forget to enable usb debuging
