I have been a long time user of PhoneLog which logs all calls and sms messages into your calendar. Excellent app.
The only issue is that with 6.5.5 /Sense 2 it does not seem to log SMS's anymore
Does anyone have a similar app. It logs it in real time and ends up on my work calendar via Exchange active sync.
im not familar with anything personally, but it sounds like a cool idea and i would be interested to know aswell.
by the way... are you using the HTC Messaging Client or the stock WinMo one? i wonder if that would make any difference to the performance of PhoneLog.
Its a thought.
Messages are still finally stored in the Winmo messaging client. The HTC one is just a skin however the phonelogs triggers may be blocked by HTC.
working
Can this cab and it seems to be working again.

Thanks for the tip lamensterms
you say 'can' this .CAB? do you mean trash/ditch the .CAB, or use that .CAB?
ha ha, im not trying to be a jerk... just not sure if you had a typo or not.
i do use that .CAB seeing as i couldnt agree with the HTC client.
glad you got it going, now i think ill have to check PhoneLog out.
cheers.
Typo. Cab worked fine.
Phone log = http://www.infinityball.com/phonelog/
Now is logging incoming messages but not outgoing.
I have tried using threaded view or single message view. Same issue. Better thou.
Also Sense now fails to acknowledge that the sms has been read. That might be a deal breaker.
Is there a util which can back up messages to calendar once a day/week?

while using the stock WM sms client... it is a know issue for Sense to keep displaying the notification bubble on the SMS tab. i experience this problem very rarely (so rarely that it is hardly a problem for me). i think it might have been discussed in the thread where you retrieved zenyee's .CAB, but i cannot remember for sure.

after some quick google "research"... it seems there are other apps similar to phonelog available for blackberry and android... but phonelog may be the only one of its kind for WM.
here is a request on another (microsoft) forum - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/thread/66e9160d-46ed-452c-91fa-6f3a6a88f86d
there are other folk out there who share your request. maybe some further integration could be on the horizon.
let me know how you go with HTC messaging VS WINMO.
cheers.
Does anyone knows android application wich does what SMS Digital receipt FIX (smsDRfix) for WinMobile do (replacing phone numbers in SMS messages with contact name and/or optionaly number type and optionaly leaving number also) ?

+1 me too im searching for app. like smsdrfix.
I'm also looking for something to solve that problem in my Android phone.
SMSDRFIX for ANDROID would be perfect.
Maybe SAMAN would develop it for us! We would really appreciate.
Thanks in advance!
yeah it would be great if some one can make it
hey
I have a nexus one running the latest rogdriguez mod for miui. I am having a problem with the messaging app. I cannot use the voice input from the swype keyboard to send a message. When i do the field remains blank. Is there a way to fix this? Is it possible to take the messaging app from the stock froyo and put it in? If so where would i get the stock messaging apk from?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried any other SMS apps from the market e.g. chomp sms or handcent?
I use swype but i can't say i've tried the voice side of things on MIUI.
Did it ever work?
Swype is not compatible on all roms and at the minimum you need to uninstall and reinstall with your invite info they first sent you in an email.
Also, I would try Rod's Forum for help first, if you haven't already.

The other problem that I am having is that when i set up facebook to only sync with my contacts it ends up syncing all my facebook contacts. Is there a solution?
thanks...i am now using handcent
Hi, a friend of mine has got an HTC Wildfire, I have an Optimus One, and when he tried to sort his contacts with google, it seems like it is syncing all of his contacts, not just some group.
We have looked through the different options but I cannot find any option for group selection like in my phone. Does anyone know if it is possible? or if not if the app can be changed by some other phonebook app or dialer, that allows it like in my phone
Thanks in advance!!
Try "aTAKEphONE contact dialer" or "Dialer One" (find them in market or site 4PDA, Telephone part). I've used them myself, the second is faster.
Thanks for the answer, I will tell him to have a look on those apps
For some reason in my hangouts app it is only showing my contact numbers not the name. But in the default messages app I am able to view the names from the contatcs? Am I missing a step? It worked fine on my HTC one.. I am running Sweet Rom V5
Also could anyone suggest any kernels that run well with this rom. Thanks!

It has done it for me sometimes but only on the odd contact, then it fixes itself

I have disabled the default messaging app and have left SMS turned on for Hangouts.. But nothing seems to work for the contacts to be shown. only SOME contacts show the name but most just show the number.. Not sure where to go from here. Might do a clean install of the rom, but trying to avoid that.
