1 reason found for Trion hangs/freezes at Windows boot screen

Hi,
seems I have nailed down one situation, when trion refused to boot through. Whenever I have WLAN active and the system hangs (happened last time today when trying to start up avantgo) its very likely the xda won't boot correctly after soft reset.
Usually I solved it by going to bootloader and softreset again. Today this didn't help, also booting with and without SIM/battery in all combinations didn't help.
So I connected the phone in bootloader mode and sent some commands via mtty.
Don't know why, but this helped the phone to boot again. Weird.
Now - is there a way to switch off WLAN via mtty in case it happens again?

P.S.: never give up when the xda hangs, I refuse to use a hard reset (unfortunately it required xx reboot trials and 1 hour of my time...)

Hi,
still there are occasions, where my TyTN hangs at Windows Mobile screen while booting. I couldn't find any system behind it...
I had several suspicions:
- HTweakC while Power Saver Tweak was enabled,
- pBar, when being set to automatically load,
In both cases, removing this options seemed to help, but shortly after that the hangs came up again.
Did anybody else also experience frequently hangs while booting and could isolate some reasons for that?
P.S.:
I know some of the hangs are related with today plugins. The only I have currently is Birthdays 1.2.10. I just removed this as well, but the XDA seems to hang after the reboot again.

How likely are hangs at bootup time hardware related?
Is it a common problem with AKU2.3 and could an upgrade to 3.3 help?
I just don't want to mess around and waste a lot of time - would you suggest to send it in for repair?
(My operator claims, that I should do a hard reset. After that everything is fine. But why should I use an XDA without adding any more program and risking that behaviour?)

I have only ever had one hang on boot up. I have AKU 2.3. Used to get lots of freezing at other times, but it appears I have cured all that and it has settled down very nicely. I also have several today plugins spread over multiple desktops using WAD.
I just wonder (and I am no expert here) whether you may have a little corruption in boot up files. Have you actually tried a hard reset yet?
Having learned several lessons I took mine back to scratch with a hard reset and used SPB backup at each stage as I reloaded software. This way I am able to return to a nicely working setup (within 5 minutes) if I load something duff along the way.

Yep, did a hard reset and installed some programs. I will try to adopt your way of adding programs. Even if it takes a lot of extra time. Now I need at least 5-6 soft resets, until one works.
However - did anyone ever notice, that sometimes between the operator splash screen and windows mobile splash screen, there is a scrambled splash screen with vertical lines in windows mobile splash screen colors?

Do I understand you correctly - even after hard reset you still need several soft reset attempts to get it going?

no... if its "O2 virgin" ROM its working.
okay, seems to answer my question regarding HW problem. It seems not to be one.
This is the SW I then installed (maybe in different order):
- Avantgo
- Flashplayer 7
- tcpmp
- SPB Gprs monitor (came with the hardware)
- Clearvue PDF viewer (came with the hardware)
- Birthdays plugin
- HTweakC
- SK Tools
- pBar
I removed battery and communication manager Icon from frontscreen with HTweakC and tried the battery saving tweak. More I can't remember.
I will pay attention now with setting it up again. Did some of the above ring a bell?

Nothing obvious but I wonder about pbar given it appears to monitor a lot of actions and will load at start up.
I'd also do the following with backups before and after. It's a pain doing some of this from scratch if things go pear shaped.

Heli screen alignment after installing WM6

After having installed the latest wm6 from the update. followed by hard rest I got to screen alignment and it seems to keep asking align screen which I have done over 20 times and I can not get out of it even with new hard set.
Any sugestings or help please.
I forgot to mention the center point is some times not responding.

I had the same problem, but found that if you can remove the HTC Album then you can align like normal.

I have the same problem on a wizard.
After a while I realized that there must be something wrong with the hardware.
Whenever I turn the screen on, it opens the Message pane, or whatever is configures on the right top hard button. Then if I turn it off and on, it moves to Outlook . Next time to MMS, etc.
Then, when I press the center button, it opens the align screen, but after I finish aligning, it works fine for a while.
I tried Flashing it many times, with differnt rooms, even the offial ones, and it didn't solve the problem. I also tried dismounting it all, talking all the parts apart and nothing.
Anyboday has any clue about this?

make an oem that auto aligns the screen in personal oemizer. See if that works. So that on the initial boot from hard reset it skips that screen.
I did it on mine and it worked fine but I also never had a problem aligning the screen with the kitchen either.

Touch Malfunction

My Phone's screen suddenly not responding correctly to touch. I press at one place the phone respond erratically. I tried hard reset but I am stuck on Align Screen, it is not moving further even after repeated touch. PLease help.

What happened? Did you flash a new rom to your phone? Did you drop it? Did it get any water damage? It sounds like something is wrong (mechanically / electronically)

I DID FLASH MY blackstone to 1.56 just change from german to french

please try the following, if possible:
(1) Connect your Phone to your PC using Activesync (it works even when you are stuck at alignment screen).
(2) Download this Remote Screen Alignment program.
(3) Install and run this program from your PC.
(4) Choose SKIP to avoid the Align Screen Wizard. This program has a few features that you might want to use in the future.
(5) Restart the phone and you are done.
Let me know if this works or not.
Note: Incase your screen is badly aligned (if touch screen works); you can start the alignment wizard from settings and do few taps. You will not come out of the loop, so press any key like screen off button, Windows or restart the phone.

HD2 Can't Unlock

I have a erratic fault on my HD2...I can't always unlock the device.
The slide to unlock icon lights but refuses to slide. Sometimes it will eventually slide (after 30-40 attempts) other times I have to either soft reset or remove the battery.
BTW the HD2 is the Australian version that I use in the US to get decent 3G speed.

Try to make a new clear copy ROM.
1) install the SPB Backup
link - CAB (English): SpbBackup2.arm.cab
2) back up custom data orgenaizer Email ( if you need it )
and your document ( if you need it )
3) install your custom ROM that you use right now ... ( hard boot )
Note!
Dont install to many custom themes it slows down the device ( not all but do ) i had some thing like your problem also ...
if this dont work try to install other unlock theme
like the mini hd unlock screen

I installed the mini HD unlock cab as suggested but get the same result. Sometimes it works othertimes it just doesn't react to any finger touch/swipe

did you hard boot to get a clear windows ?

No I didn't. So are you suggesting I hard reboot then install the mini screen lock?
I've hard booted before & the problem remained with the standard lock.

Im having the same issue, it will not slide unless you use a different hard key other then the end key and when you hold the end key to power off device the screen will not respond. Ive tried hard resetting also, still no bueno.. any ideas?

I have a similar problem after I keep it working for 2-3days. For my case the slider can slide but the mobile can not be unlocked. Any advice?

ive read that HTC has had an ongoing issue with defective touchscreens so your phone probably needs to be replaced. I had my phone doing this off and on and one evening it just quit working altogether.
I flashed every rom i could find and nothing worked. task 29, MTTY, stock rom...nothing helped. i got a replacement a week ago and its working fine and the screen issues with texting and such are gone where as my original HD2 showed many signs of the touch errors mentioned in other posts!
best guess would be to get the phone replaced!!

My Xperia X1 performes a hard reset every week - Help!

I'm so mad at my xperia - first the cracks in the case, then the vibration stops working (ok that was my fault), then the keyboard starts repeating letters..
But now I gave up and went back to my old phone, because my xperia makes a hard reset once a week.
First it starts to act weird - some shortcuts aren't working, it won't open opera, some buttons are missing, and the hardware buttons aren't working (i can't even end a call or make it go to standby).
So after I make a NORMAL reset, everything is erased, I have to align the screen, date and time etc.
I can't use it anymore, and I don't know why this is happening? Maybe I have flashed my phone too many times?
Has anyone the same problem, and PLEASE can anyone help me with my problem?
Oh btw - I use Itje's Touch-IT Black Xperience, build 23563.

Seems more like a hardware faillure... Well you can try this, it is called task 29, then reload your cell with a new rom using the sd card method.

Unfortunately only 1 day after using it I tried to send an MMS. Of course it didn't work (it never does) and after coming back to the home screen I tried to open the comm manager. The shrotcut didn't work, neither did any other shortcut.
After a reset the phone wouldn't even boot up, it got stuck after the sonyericsson splash screen.
Once again I'm using my K800i.. Anyone got an idea what else I could try to fix my Xperia?
