hey guys i just flashed a new rom and was playing with it...ran antutu and suddenly my phone died...didnt respond to anything..my battery was around 50 percent so i plugged it into the wall charger to see if my love had died but a strange red light poped up which started blinking..so i pressed the home button again thinkin that the phone had revived but the light went away...only to not come back..so i plug it into the usb and the phone turns on..the charging icon comes up..and then the phone reboots again into the charging icon..this goes on and on with a constant red light.. only until when i try to start the phone again where the light starts blinking and the bootloop stops leaving the phn dead again :s...i can get into bootloader but that is very rarely aswell cause most of the time download mode shows up.
to top up the mess after getting into the bootloader i tired flashing the stock kernel..stock recovery..what not..all goes fine only until the phone reboots..only to enter into this charging icon bootloop again..no matter what i do..if the phone reboots somehow while being inside the bootloader the bootloop starts again...ive been at it for the past hour and nothin has sufficed ..please help me...i knw the phone isnt bricked as it wudnt have turned on at all..but wateva it is anyone..please help me!
the rom i had just flashed was chainfire X sr 5!..!
This isn't new. Leave it on the charger for a few hours and try again.
doesnt help as even on charger the bootoop continues.. :S
What about flashing the bootloader? (Not boot)
Download the file and place in the same folder as fastboot then run cmd and type those commands below
cd {Path to the folder here without the brackets}
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-mako-makoz10l.img

:face palm:
It doesn't matter if it continues on charger. The phone needs to cool off and reset. You said this happened during a benchmark, right? Were you overclocked?
nopes no overclocking..ive got no idea wats up so m jus gonna leave it on the charger over night while it bootloops on the charging icon whole night long..!

It will charge in bootloader. It just won't be wearing itself out trying to boot.
i hope it works out..! !
thats the red light of death, or red light of scaring you to death. if you can get into the bootloader, press the power off option then let it charge. what happened is that your device thinks that it went below 0% in battery charge.

several hours should do. I kept mine on the charger all night, it booted later.
See, OP. I told you it wasn't a "one of a kind" bootloop.
ok i accept that it aint one of a kind...but wat i dont get is how did u guys put it on the charge..? i mean i just cant plug the device into a charger without it going into a bootloop!..which obviously wont be helping the cause as constant booting will drain the battery!..so how did u all put it on the charge?
guys thx alot..fixed it..finally..!

Tada. All it needed was time.
nah not really..had the phn on charge over night..didnt do any good..then found this another thread abt the same issue where ppl mentioned quite a few ways..i personally in the bootloader just fastboot wiped everythin and then without the reboot in between fastboot flashed everything all over..that didnt do any good..but then i flashed a custom recovery n tried permanenting it through mskips toolkit..it gave me a constantly sticking google screen..which after turned into the google X bootscreen..for 30 mins it stuck there..after which i again fastboot wiped everything n reflashed through fastboot..and only then it started...
personally i dont think its the matter of battery or anything else...something corrupts all the partitons..as when i was in recovery i wiped cache, dalvik cache, system, user data and they all returned an error of the directory not being there..battery was fine...but something somehow either corrupts all the partitions except for bootloader or something corrupts the sd card in whole...just my two cents!
i have a serious problem and it is not only me who has this problem.
samsung galaxy s4 i9505 going in to samsung logo bootloops.

Connected to the wall with the power cord.
I had a similar issue that turned out to be the battery.

it's most likely a battery problem
this is the story behind it
samsung did ship a large quantity of bad batteries where de serial starting with BD.
what are the symptoms:
- hige battery drainage going from 80% before reboot to 4 % after reboot
- random reboots hanging at samsung logo and wont continue unless you plugin the power cable
- battery starts to swell
- phone reboots during incomming call / sms
what to do when you have one of the above symptoms?
go to a samsung service center near by or to the shop where you bought your phone
tell them you have a battery which is malfunctioning, and since samsung is acknowledging this the battery will always be replaiced under warranty.
I had the same symptoms as mentioned above after replacing the battery these problems where ALL gone
what are the risks when you ignore these facts:
not only that you phone might explode
but also explodes in your pants, and I'm pretty sure that you don't want your privates to get hurt in the process
goodluck and don't forget to hit the thanks button when my reply was usefull to you
My Q700 got switched off yesterday after a call and fails to restart after a call since last evening. When I plug in the charger it shows 100% charged battery and when switched on it shows till the boot animation but nothing more at at max shows the battery percentage i.e. 100%..I tried recovery mode..the phone boots in to the tests options...however overall the phone does not start...any help will be great..TIA
Alas...no one's there to help...
Try to State your problem clearly, From What i got - Try Battery Calliberation App or Flash Stock Rom via SP Flash Tool. It should solve your Problem.
Does it just show the boot Animation only.... If it does then u might have had a bootloop.... Try flashing another rom or data factory reset.... Wipe dalvik cache and reboot.... I hope u would have taken backup.....
Thanks..its working now...
Abhi
I think one thing I'd clearly stated that....my phone is not booting up..how do you think you can calibrate battery..on a switched off phone ?? Please share the process..may be no-one knows
TheCoolster,
Thanks Buddy...I actually went to the service center to get that done..I didnt have cwm installed hence couldnt do much..but thank god the phone is working now....
Well good for you my friend!!!!!

Hi!
I really need some help!
My defy+ just went black yesterday due to missing battery power.. I have installed cyagonmod on it since 1 year. Everything fine till now.
I just cant get it to start. I used the recovery to wipe the cache, which it does, also it states: restarting apps 97/97. optimizing apps and then nothing.. waiting 10 min nothing else..
I changed the battery because I first thought it has not enough power but it wont boot.
When I start it normally it just starts till the cyanogen mod booting screen and then works/freezes... also waited here 10 min. nothing happening.
I only installed 1 fitness app yesterday which was rated good (5*). All worked fine till now.. Can the mod be damaged just because of missing battery?!
Can I backup my files anyhow with a windows based app which I dont have to install on the phone?
I tried to backup in the recovery mode but there is no option for that???
only install from sd, wipe cache, factory reset, and reboot.
I only have a 1 year old backup on my pc and dont want to use that... I have no card reader for mini-sd :/
what can I do?
