Connected to the wall with the power cord.
I had a similar issue that turned out to be the battery.

it's most likely a battery problem
this is the story behind it
samsung did ship a large quantity of bad batteries where de serial starting with BD.
what are the symptoms:
- hige battery drainage going from 80% before reboot to 4 % after reboot
- random reboots hanging at samsung logo and wont continue unless you plugin the power cable
- battery starts to swell
- phone reboots during incomming call / sms
what to do when you have one of the above symptoms?
go to a samsung service center near by or to the shop where you bought your phone
tell them you have a battery which is malfunctioning, and since samsung is acknowledging this the battery will always be replaiced under warranty.
I had the same symptoms as mentioned above after replacing the battery these problems where ALL gone
what are the risks when you ignore these facts:
not only that you phone might explode
but also explodes in your pants, and I'm pretty sure that you don't want your privates to get hurt in the process
goodluck and don't forget to hit the thanks button when my reply was usefull to you

After figuring out the recovery issue, I am now having this problem.
I installed CWM SuperSu v0.98 via TWRP and I hit reboot. Now I see the Google logo for a while. Then the Nexus logo. It doesn't boot into the actual phone. Still stuck on the Nexus logo. Any takes folks?
Man this Nexus 4 is sure giving me hell. I wish it had a removable battery. So much easy to do if you muck up when rooting or anything at all... I know holding the power button down for 10 seconds reboots the phone but I want to turn off the phone instead. Not effing reboot. Jeebus....
When I first rooted I was stuck here too but make sure to clear cache and dalvic cache. Then it should boot up fine
Edit: when you hold down power make sure you hold down both volup+voldown then you should boot into fast boot. Then from there you can boot into recovery

There has to be a way it cant be like that
Is there anything u are able to do or able to access ?? or its just hanged ?
I was just casually browsing my FB newsfeed when my S4 suddenly rebooted itself into this Android Recovery Mode.
I've been presented with the following 6 options:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
Now I have no idea what most of those options with mean, so I tried to reboot the system several times but to no avail.
At this point, I was as desperate to wipe data/factory reset but even that failed.
I've no idea what to do as I cannot afford to have this repaired at the shop and I do not have insurance either. I'm not sure if dropping it recently, and breaking the volume UP has contributed to this. However, I can use the volume DOWN.

Try to Choose wipe cache and then factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!) then reboot. If still doesnt Boot Flash the stock rom via odin.

I can't even get back into the android recovery screen now for some strange reason. It just flashes the white Samsung Galaxy real quick and shuts back off straight away. I've tried holding in all power combos (volume, power and home screen) to get in but that isn't working.
Edit: Okay. I managed to did that, then rebooted. It still starts back up into the recovery screen.
Also what does 'Boot Flash the stock rom via odin' mean? How do I do that? It is not an option on my screen.
Hi,
read this ( don't download anything from this post, it's not for S4 ! )
and this
I've checked out those links and it's far too complexed for me to understand. I've rang around a few local phone repair shops, and I've found a cheap quote for £10-15. I'd rather leave it in the hands of someone that knows what they are doing as opposed to risking it myself and cocking it up.
Thanks though.

Hmm wierd it is! See whether Odin recognizes your phone. If it does then flash stock firmware. If the recovery of your phone is accessible then you can wipe data reset. All the best.

i know the problem it has hardware issue
Try going into recovery and do a Wipe / Data Factory Reset
You have a damaged battery or a hardware problem on your phone.
Is your battery arched ?
Hi guys
I've a problem with my oneplus6t (stock no root no TWRP)
One night it was power off the next morning I've connect it to power charge, when it was at 77% I've disconnect it and power on
From this moment it is on a boot loop... Logo One Plus powered by android, logo with circle red and white and after reboot... I've tried all, I can enter in stock recovery or fastboot, wipe cache, reset system settings but nothing it won't boot
There is something that I can try to resolve this problem? I would recover my photos and I've not try to wipe data...
Thank you to all for your help and sorry for my English

Hey there! "I've tried all" doesn't really specify what you did. How does your device respond to pressing all buttons? That's volume-up, volume-down and power simultaneously for at least 10 seconds (hold it longer if it doesn't react). This should at least power down your device completely. Then you can try booting normally, to fastboot or to recovery. A cache wipe may resolve this.
As for photos, wasn't Google Photos sync or similar enabled? There are plenty of cloud sync options nowadays.
no, unfortunately I have not activated any cloud service. I tried everything in the sense that, I did drain all the battery with the boot loop, recharged the battery to 100% but nothing to do, it goes into the boot loop. I tried to hear the one plus assistance, that after cache reset told me to send it to assistance. I tried with several videos on YouTube all possible key combinations including the one that you suggested me... but nothing to do ... I was hoping to be able to do some flashes without deleting the data with MSM download tool, but I have not find anything. Thank you for your help, I would have liked to recover the photos ... I have now bought an iPhone because after years of one plus phones, I cannot longer trust a phone that leaves me on my feet for no reason. sorry for my outburst and thank you again

Well, for what it's worth: try jailbreaking an iP... an iPh... (sorry, can't say it) and then ask for support
But you're right, 1+ did fail us in the long run IMHO. Just note that not having backups is not on them.
