[Q] FieldTest on CM7

How to launch FieldTest on CM7 RC1?
On official firmware it can be done with *#*#7262626#*#* code. CM7 has no fieldtest.apk in /system/app. I tried to copy apk file from official but it doesn't work as well.

Field test is a HTC app and may needs HTC's framework to work properly.
I would be careful with it, I played with the phone prefered band (GSM Only vs WCDMA prefered/only) and I could no longer get it back to GSM only, had to do a nandroid restore.
Too bad. I've tried some official-based roms (with sense) and it helped, but CM7 is much better for me. There is no point to change rom for single app. Though this app could be useful for my job sometimes.
Thanks for reply.

You could try going into ServiceMode by entering *#*#197328640#*#*
Select [5]Audio
Then select rebuild these values
Only if you can access. But i think it is blocked

Do you get H or E or anything else in the taskbar and you can't connect or you don't even get those icons?

Demo Dirty use of USSD Codes in Cellular Network en Ekoparty 2012

Exploit reset Galaxy-smartphones via weblink or sms
http://youtu.be/Q2-0B04HPhs
http://www.ekoparty.org/2012/ravi-borgaonkar.php
I can confirm this is working on Resurrection Remix JB and Resurrection Remix ICS version (Well the test to view IMEI). Hopefully he can change the dialer to prevent this hack!
Tried with Chrome,Default and Dolphin Broswers
To check if the exploit works on your phone, just click on the link below
(This is a safe USSD code)
http://dylanreeve.com/phone.php
If the IMEI is displayed directly , then your phone is vulnerable and clicking a link with an unsafe embedded USSD code can potentially wipe your phone.
A workaround I'm using on LPX is to install another dialer and not set any default dialer , so I get a prompt to select a dialer instead of the USSD code executing automatically.

Yeah....I too installed Dialer one since it is one of the few dialers that requires you to press the call button after entering a USSD code to execute it

Might be useful to some of you who want to know if they're vulnerable as well. This site has background info regarding the Samsung USSD hack, some simple tests and how to disable it can be found on Wipe My Galaxy.
Luckily, my Galaxy Nexus is not vulnerable

I just come across this thread and glad I did, just a quick question... clicking on the link my phones dialler says "*#06#" and no imei number, does that mean my phone is safe or still vulnerable ?
Thanks..
I just use Opera and the hack doesn't work with it. So I'm happy with that and don't need to install another dialer.

It's safe as long as you don't press dial.

here's an app that blocks auto-execution of USSD codes from all sources (i.e. QR-codes, iframes, sms etc), not only wap push as the previous poster's link recommends:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.gicode.android.autoresetblocker
Thanks...I prefer auto reset block over installing another dialer
I have also disabled service loading as a precaution against sms' which would execute a USSD code.To do this simply set Service loading to never in the Messaging app settings under Push Messaging settings or disable Push Messaging.

I assume you ran the test USSD code which shows your IMEI.
This would work on CM but I do not think that the format USSD code would work as that is included only in Samsung Touchwiz roms and maybe other oem roms.

Unfortunately the attack is VERY simple:
Code:
<iframe src="[URL]tel:*%2306%23[/URL]"></iframe>
where "%23" = "#"...
Here is an app (USSD Blocker) I developped to workaround this problem.
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.laucass.ussdblocker
Use avast mobile security!
After clicking on the URL, if you open it through avast! mobile security app, it automatically detects the harmful USSD code, and blocks it.

MMS with [ROM] Project Cold Fusion - PCF - MAKO - 4.2.1

Hi everyone,
Changed operator today, Internet is working like a charm on 3G/H, but I can't send or receive any MMS, I tried going on APN settings, but can't edit any of them ! When clicking on it, it's doing nothing, only things I can do there are : "Creating a new APN" or "Restore to default".
Any idea ?
