[Q] ROMs for HD2 based on these phones? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

My corporate Exchange email account requires the ActiveSync Device Encryption Policy.
I've tried a number of the ROMs for HD2 on the XDA, but many don't have the security settings I need. I've tried the Desire based ROMS but I don't like the aesthetic ... I really liked MIUI stock but it didn't have the right security built in.
The working phones with the ActiveSync Device Encryption are below, but I don't know how to spot the builds in the forum that are based on these stock ROMs. Can anyone suggest a ROM based on one of the stock ROMs below?
Stock ROMs with ActiveSync Device Encryption Policy:
AT&T Atrix
AT&T HTC Aria
AT&T Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S)
AT&T's HTC Inspire 4G
HTC Desire
Samsung Galaxy S 4G
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Sprint HTC EVO 4G
Sprint HTC Evo Shift
Sprint HTC Hero
Sprint Samsung Epic
Sprint Samsung Moment
T-Mobile Cliq / Cliq 2
T-Mobile Motorola Defy
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide
T-Mobile MyTouch 4G
US-Cellular Samsung Mesmerize (Galaxy S)
Verizon Droid Incredible
Verizon Droid X and Droid 2
Verizon Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S)
Thanks!

Have you tried
Moto-Mytouch4G V3.3
And btw this is posted in the wrong section this belongs in the Q&A section..

I will follow this because i have the same problem. Tried a few this evening with same result. Not working.
Did you had found working roms? Maybe some you don't liked.

Hero ?

Is the htc Hero (UK) and the sprint HTC Hero the same phone? from everthing that I've read and seen there not the same phone. True Or Not true
Not the same phone:
1) U.K hero has the "chin" form factor. Sprint Hero does not.
2) They operate on different frequencies and network types. U.K. hero is UMTS/HSDPA and Sprint Hero is EV-DO.
They both run Android with the HTC Sense UI and look act very similar, but are completely incompatible.
So when rooting this phone, Its not the same as the U.K. hero... So does anyone know how to root this phone?
yes...
try www.theunlockr.com
they should have video and instructions
good luck

EVO 4g on GSM??

hey,i am interested if the evo 4g will be coming to gsm....? or if i could use the phone in australia if bought in the US??...i have searched for the answer but cant find anywhere..thanks
not that I've heard. your best bet is the HD2(which is GSM i believe)
hd2 doesnt even compare with the 4g..completely outdated in only a matter of months...
HD2 simply needs a better OS. The Desire would be your best alternative at the moment because it's available in Australia. The Evo probably won't be coming for a while until either a) we get a 4G network up and running soon here, or b) HTC pushes out a GSM version, which has not been officially announced yet.
Best alternative is probably the Dell Mini 5 / Streak.

The HTC representatives at Google I/O told me that no GSM model of the EVO 4G would be released.

[Q] MLB.com At Bat 11 MLB.TV on HD2?

I have an MLB.TV subscription and want to watch the games on my phone. However, it says that the MLB.TV streaming is only available on these phones:
Sprint HTC Evo
Verizon HTC Droid Incredible
Verizon Motorola Droid X
Verizon Motorola Droid
Verizon Motorola Droid 2
Verizon Motorola Droid Pro
Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab
Verizon HTC Thunderbolt
T-Mobile/AT&T HTC Nexus One
T-Mobile Samsung Nexus S
T-Mobile HTC Glacier (myTouch 4G)
Anybody know of any way I can get it to allow me to use my MLB.TV subscription?
Anybody have any experience with this?
This rom works. NexusHD2. Here is the link. I was having a problem with location so I used location spoofing from the market. I have not tested anything else on the ROM as I am using it on my backup HD2 at the moment.

Update - NexusHD2 Gingerbread works as well.

[Q] Specs questions and another...

Okay 2 questions:
1: To me the specs look the same as the EVO 4G, how can it play these games with those specs? Is it the gpu that is different (or equivalent?)
2: With the 800x being rooted I see that the specs say it can run on an EVDO network. Is it possible to use this phone with Sprint service and full capabilitys?
The reason I ask is is because I had to go to sprint to replace my EVO because the 4G died, and the replacement I got had 2.3.3 plus s-On so no root. I was curious if the phone was just as quick but had the ability to be a Sprint phone + custom roms IT WOULD BE MY AND MY WIFE'S HERO PHONE!!!

Wifi Calling

Hello!
I'm having a hard time finding an unbranded Wifi Calling application.
It's called Kineto Smart WiFi. If it can be found I'm assuming that it could just be a dropin replacement. Any and all information would be helpful.
kineto.com/images/smart_wifi/SO_WiFi_splash.jpg
The splash screen for the app should look like this or something very similar.
Thanks.
you need to have either T-mobile or Orange as your cell carrier, those are the only two Kineto licensees that I know of (other than hardware preloads by Chinese phone makers Huawei & ZTE - not sure who you can use these phones with for wifi calling though)
If you have a phone designed for T-mobile or Orange in the last year or two, you probably already have the wifi-calling app (Smart Wifi) built-in anyway.
I could send you the app, but if you don't have both a carrier and phone on the very short approved list, it's not going to do you any good, because you won't get past Kineto's gateway.
So what phone and what carrier do you use, so we can even determine if what you are wanting is even currently possible?
here are the only phones that I know that will work with Smart Wifi (wifi calling):
T-MOBILE PHONES:
BlackBerry Curve 3G
BlackBerry Curve 8520
BlackBerry Curve 9360
BlackBerry Bold 9700
BlackBerry Bold 9780
HTC Wildfire S

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G (Samsung)
T-Mobile myTouch (LG)
T-Mobile myTouch Q (LG)

Can you use kineto on the hercules?

From my understanding the tmobile wifi calling should be included in the default rom that comes with your thoughts fun. It is included in cm7 for g2. From what I read on just installing the apk it won't work because there are some deeper level integration needed
