Google had claimed that there were no minimum hardware requirements for running Honeycomb 3.0 so one hacker out there decided to put it to the test

Okay, so I know there are loads of threads that are trying to get sense from the wildfire onto the hero.
but how about this:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/36282/htc-gratia-surprise-froyo-addition
Its a froyo running htc sense phone. with HVGA resolution - should this hopefully solve half the problems with images being the wrong size?
Its out next month.
EDIT: I have seen it said to be as HVGA and VGA now :s
Spec Comparions vs Hero.
Hopefully it will be possible to port. It seems too me as it would work (the same resolution and a cpu with ARMv6)
Seems like a super easy port! Probably even easier than the Legend
The little europe version of the HTC Aria!
Hope it`s possible to port!
Well Nathan and Shen (Team Villain) tweeted today to say we'd have a working Beta of Sense 2.2 on the Hero within a month. Not sure from where, but it's looking good.
Nice to hear!
But what about My Touch 3G Slide and Android 2.2?
Is it available and comes with Froyo 2.2 + Sense?
Maybe it would easier to port!
Nathan and Shen do indeed have plans for around a month... As per usual no discussion of progress or ETAs will come from them, as it's ready when it's ready
What's it gonna take to get source? Really wanna get into this. Can we use the moto xoom honeycomb source when it comes out. It should be close, its got tegra II n all...???

We can't use it cause Compal is manufacturer of eLocity A7
Different manufacturers...
But being the same Chipset, I'm sure our brilliant devs can port sumthin for us...

Honestly idk I'm not a dev but sounds like the moto xoom is very similar with honeycomb thought it could be possible hey maybe I'm way off idk...

Not sure if this helps but, anything is better than nothing. Maybe this can be used to get 3.0 on A7 in custom ROM. Wishing...
I downloaded it and it looks like it could work, not my area of expertise, maybe Dexter can give it a virtual spin.
Would like to see if anyone has a good working port for ics

As soon as someone has a working port of ICS, I'd imagine it would be the busiest thread in the development sub-forum. So keep an eye out there.

Settle down. Source code isn't even out yet. And that will probably be November 17 at the earliest since that is the release date of the European Galaxy Nexus. Traditionally, code had been released a couple weeks after a nexus phone. Expect early December.

Of how much I want to see ICS on my beloved G2.. it seems the only way we'll see ICS on the G2 is through the great devs working on a port, because unfortunately according to PC World HERE HTC has the list of phones that will be getting ICS starting next year, and the G2 is no where in the line-up on getting it.
Oh well.. I was thinking about upgrading my phone to a Galaxy Nexus (32gb version).

Why would you care if HTC is going to build 4.0 for your phone? HTC builds **SUCK**. They are polluted with a whole bunch of garbage the *looks* like AOSP, but actually is NOT. The HTC VISION is hacked more thoroughly than any other android phone available. It will NOT be a big deal to build a proper AOSP for it.
Just wait for cm 9 and its variants. The nightlies even now are getting closer to ics.
I love a new release as much as the next guy, but I kinda wish the buzz was over. I can't stop trying to give my phone an ice cream feel. And it probably only does a couple things dif. than gingerbread.

I find it funny that many news sites either don't mention it, or repeating it wrong.
HTC was speaking of a first wave.
There is a second wave of phones that will get ICS.
Second wave of phones are not announced until now.
Incredible S, Desire S, Desire HD and Desire Z have very good chances to be on this second list.
Can somebody explain why ICS is so much better than what I have right now? Just wondering?....
Gpu acceleration is the main reason I want it...
sorry evo i had to let you go sprint kicked me out of my plan for roaming too much at&t gave me a great deal and i couldnt help but to try the new 4s abomonation
that being said i also tried the glaxy s2 for att and its great but responsive touchscreen belongs to the iphone and i need that for bussiness that being said i have to retire my question answering here in the evo forum i will miss the open source of the project i have 15 days to switch back to the galxy s and if i do i cant wait to get going on getting to know that device in deep complex detail and complete some of the ports that i was working on actually my first 2 ports for the evo 4g may be released or may not be depending on how fast my evo gets sold for testing please note i have no team or devs and everythings unstable so no i dont wanna release for testers alpha or betas but hopefully i can send out those 2 ports which will be miui m9 revamped with signal raidos working and HWA and also a alpha hony comb port which i was stumped on and hope someone can carry those on

I counted about a dozen sweet Ice Cream Sandwich Roms in the Development forum based on at least three completely open source repo's.
I say up yours Samsung, we don't need your kind around here!!!
they said that cuz our phones dont have the memory to handle the ics using touchwiz framework
and i doubt they would ever remove it so no official update for us

They have a SGS II port in the i9000 forum that is ICS touchwiz and it seams to run pretty well, (they have a video, i tried to port it but the kernel is hacked to make it work) so really they just dont want to do it.

Just ODIN>JFD>CM9 Alpha>Slim ICS
I'm enjoying Slim ICS far more than I expected. Looonnng time xda lurker, I hope I can bring something to the table.
They want us all to spend more money on newer phones.
are you guys still stuck on this subject? GET OVER IT. We have amazing ICS ROMS in our dev section already. Samsung has their business style just as any other company.
If you guys are really still stuck on the subject, you could try to spread the word of this petition...
http://www.change.org/petitions/samsung-were-asking-you-bring-the-galaxy-s-users-an-update
Sadly the petition started to slow down about a month ago, but hey, maybe you guys can give it a second wind. Although I honestly doubt we'll get an official upgrade at this point in time.
