No, not without modifying the cable. Everything is connected to different connector pins on the XDA, relative to the iPaq. The connectors page on this site has all the details.
http://xda-developers.com/connectors
no, you have to modify it
As always the XDA-developers solution works.
I have changed an IPAQ cable according to information on the prementioned page and it works flawless.
Just make sure you:
- have a fine tipped soldering iron
- a steady hand

Use an ohmmeter (or just a battery and a light) and two VERY finetipped 'probes' (I used two needles  ) and check every pin on the connector against the two pins on each side to see if they have a connection or not. It's a simple but effective way to prevent damage to your XDA just because you overlooked a connection.

XDA developer You are a clever people, all many thanks, shall probe change the cable from iPAQ.

My car's white - how fast does it go?
And now for some more detail:-
Is the error coming up from Windows, or ActiveSync?
What OS and ActiveSync version are you using?
Have you ever been able to sync?
What ROM is your device using?
Are you using USB or Bluetooth Sync?
If its ActiveSync, you could try deleting any existing profiles within the Application and trying again.
Have you tried both a soft and hard reset of the phone?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync?
Have you got the latest version of ActiveSync?
Have you tried synchronising over bluetooth instead of USB (or vice-versa)?
Have you tried google to resolve your problem?

Tis an old quote passed down to me as a junior IT tech from the wizards of the mainframe, and illustrates the point perfectly I think.
Veron_fat - when you say you have "change a new USB part of the device", is that the USB cable, or the Mini-USB port on the device?? I had a fault with my first charger where the connection eventually went wrong within the connector on the cable - swapped it out with a new charger and all was well again. I have however also broken an Axim x50v sync port with too much flexing - the connector broke the solder ports on the mobo.
I'd be surprised if you'd broken the IC - can someone else advise if my memory is correct and the USB device controller is integrated into the main CPU. Is this also shared with the USB host controller? I'm thinking that if Veron_fat has the 4 in 1 USB cable, he can test that to see if it is the IC, or the port that is at fault.
I do think though Veron that you've buggered the port, and it will either be a resolder on the port by a skilled electronics engineer, or a new mobo.

Why not just send it back to HTC for repairs/diagnostics? It might only cost you shipping. Just my 2 cents.

USB Host once again!

Hi all!
Now I know that there was a thread regarding the presumed USB Host functionality on the HD2, but that thread seems to be like dead... But now since the finished product has finally landed, I think we should start thinking about it again. Now we all know that the USB Host feature isnt listed officially, but there are rumours flying around suggesting that the feature is available in the HD2's chipset, which means that maybe there is a way to develop drivers for it or something. I remember one of the old HTC devices, which turned out to have USB Hos capabilities which were discovered by the community years after the device sowed up on the market So, in other words, if a possibility of activating this feature exists, souldn't the community start to at least investigate it? That is only my suggestion
Think you are talking about this thread?
Toshiba TG01 has the same Snapdragon platform and provides USB host capabilities. So I am pretty sure will have usb host too or at least some clever guys can extract it from the Toshiba.

Could very well be, I haven't tried. I guess the first one to try will inform the rest I guess
if someone tests it and informs us about it with a positve resulttttt,
i will go to the store and get my self a cableeeeeeee
if it will work, some people can shut up about second camera, they can buy webcam and connect it

No, you still require the driver to get it working which probably won't exist. My Eten M600 works with mouse, keyboard, hub, harddrive so far.
20mihalko & xmoo, can any of you test TMC on iGo8? I asked in both of your thread but didn't get a reply. It's one of the deal breaker for me to give up the X1

Hi guys,
I'm coming back with the same question in this thread, do Leo have an usb host or maybe like written before we can make it live with specific drivers like the Diamond ?
Thanks for testing
I'm still waiting for mine (the 23rd I presume)
Kindest Regards

Do you think it will be possible to find the toshiba tg01 drivers for usb host and inlude it to the hd2 device? For what should I have to search on my tg01 and where? Maby the drivers will also work on the hd2?
Hi,
Maybe you have an install cd with your tg01 where you can fing usb host drivers ?
Rgds

I have read that someone disassembled the HD2 and found out that the USB-Chips (Including HOST feature) of the Toshiba and the HD2 are the same, BUT the HOST-Pins arent connected

[Q] [SOLVED] HP HW6915 usb cable pinout

Hi to you all! Please provide me a schematic of this type of cable. I ordered one from a site and it won't work. I'd like to try to upgrade to WM6.1 and I don't have a working cable. Please give me at least a pinout for this PDA. The one that's on pinouts.ru - I don't think it's good for this model.
Thanks a lot!
No answer yet? I got another USB cable from provider, which is also not good, even though it has "usb detect" and USB data + and USB data - pins present.. It just says " unrecognized usb device" please! I want to upgrade to Windows mobile 6.1, that's all I wanna do. thanks a lot to anybody who will answer.
Why do you think that there is something wrong with the cable?
It's quite possible that connector on iPAQ is bad.

Hi!
It turned out I was doing something wrong. The phone needed to be in bootloader mode so that the drivers provided into this forum to work properly. Thus, I can confirm that the schematics for IPAQ from pinouts.ru works just fine at least for the USB connection part. As for drivers, they are posted here in this forum.
I also attached an image with the response of that cmd command.
Thanx to You all!

Hi again! Anybody has a fix for keyboard issue? Key problem like: Delete function instead Enter and such... Please help!

Energy Supply by Usb hosting and Micro-Usb to HDMI Cable

Hi! I know there are several kernels that enables usb hosting on our Galaxy S, [I'm using last Semaphore right now], my question here is: Does exist any way to supply energy directly to the usb device from our terminal? I have the proper cable to connect them [atm I don't remember the name of it], so I thought "There is an exchange of energy trought the usb entrance in our phone, so why we couldn't use it not just as input, but as output too?" Let me know it, and thanks in advance
Because you can either have power or data transfer, not both, due too pin arrangement, external power is needed unfortunately
Thanks for answering! But let me understand, when usb mass storage is connected, is there not both transferring of data and power supply? Why would be different with usb hosting?
Up!

I understand.. Well I googled it, but just couldn't find the reason. I guess it's like you said, just a hardware matter. Thank you!
Just a last thing, as we're here. What about the micro-usb to hdmi adapter? Is there the same problem or it will work?

Yes! Very thanks, let's hope so. At least I've given 5 free euros and not 15 to Amazon xD
When I'll test it, I'll post the result :good:
UPDATE: Apparently, neither the hdmi output cable works on i9000. I looked around, and I discovered the reason why it doesn't work is about mhl drivers. They need to be compile inside the kernel, and no one seems to have done it yet. Ufortunately, 2 on 2 failed. Damn and thanks either :good:
Up! Anyone could implement those drivers in a kernel? I can donate for that too! Come on!
