Hey guys,
I just installed WP7 on my hd2, and it's working pretty well. I want to call the helpdesk and get a serial number, but It's 1:43a.m. and i dont think that's going to be possible till the morning. Anyway, i've got a bad issue.
MY usb isnt recognized. It wont show up on my desktop and my zune software doesnt find it.
I have a compatible sd card, it's the sandisc* 16gb sdhc that came with the phone.
Please help?
Thanks,
Vito
* Edit: Spelled wrong
Sorry I can't help at all but sandick??

Welcome to XDA-Dev
One step at a time with this one I think.
First, can we assume you have a USB lead/cable?
If you have and you have connected it between your phone and PC - what happens?
Mike
Did you get a manual with it as all this is covered in there. It REALLY helps to, at least, glance at the sections you're having problems with...
For memory card though, how big is it? If its bigger than 2Gb and, I'll assume you're running wm06, You need to either have upgraded to wm06 (as some versions weren't sdhc compatable) or flashed a cooked rom. Otherwise install this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=58063&d=1194986892
It also helps things if you format the sd card fat32 before doing anything else as it makes life easier later.
To send files use bluetooth... Read on how to start it and pair with a device in your manual.
Cheers...
Firstly welcome to xda developers
try installing active sync, if you are using windows XP or Windows mobile device center if using vista then you can connect the phone to the pc via usb & or bluetooth
go here for either version
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-synch.mspx
finding a memory card isnt that difficult, to send files to the htc from another phone just bluetooth it over , but you need to switch bluetooth on first, obviously.
By the sounds of things ultramags69's advice is the best ,at least read the user manual before asking easy to find answers.
I would also try to explain in greater detail exactly what you are trying to do , then maybe you will get more precise instructions
im trying to unlock this wizard but there is one problem
it wont sync, it only charges (i´ve seen other wizards with the same issue) there's in fact another thread and i have already posted there.
it wont sync over bluetooth because the first sync has to be with cable.
im out of ideas, maybe someone can help me out.
thanks for any help.
i know in ebay some people sell the unlock codes, but as you can tell by my english im from mexico and things are not OK at the moment.
maybe there is an app that can calculate the codes or maybe other alternative
You must have active sync version 4.5. If you have older - update.
Or to check usb cable.
Actually I have a solution for your problem, but I'm no expert, so that leaves me out of the thread.
Bye.
I shall declare myself an expert, so that at least someone gets help (regardless whether I am, in fact, an expert or not). hmotwr's response is the kind of thing that gets users banned...just saying.
Syncing is not an unlock problem. It might be a problem that you already have two accounts in your phone, and you need to delete one of them. It could be that you're using a Vista computer (known problem). It could be that your version of WM5 is corrupted. It could be that your Wizard's microUSB connector is broken.
I suspect the solution that hmotwr is withholding is the legendary "Flash from an SD card" which has seen lots of thread activity, but very few successes. Here is a possible answer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293387
Don't be afraid to use the site's search engine, it's not bad. Search engines are your friends. Get to know them, and love them.

yes the problem is the mini-usb port, didnt know that flashing was possible via SD card, i've been out of this forum for awhile (not totally im in the shift and the fuze forum)
thanks for the link, will see if it can help me out and will let you know.
activesync is out of the question since i've been able to sync via bluetooth AFTER the first sync with cable (with other phones).
thanks once again.
to all the others.....
when i wrote "only exprets" i didnt mean it in a offensive way i just wanted to get ideas and not the classical "check the cable" "try a different computer" "different version of acticvesync" because all of that has already been done, but i apologize if it was taken in a wrong way.
i appreciate all the help.
Hi, I want to use XDAmanipulator but it says that I need a serial cable to do this and I don't have it. Is it something like serial to miniusb? I doubt it because I couldn't find such a thing so I don't actually know what I need. Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks.
xdamanipulator is a program which was made to work with wallaby the first htc wm phone ever created the info should state that clearly you should just be very happy using it did not brick your phone forever
I'm glad nothing happened then It doesn't say anything on it's wiki page though, I had no clue. Thanks
I downloaded the only driver I could find for Samsung Phones 1.3.450.0 13.5 Mb and when I put my phone in debugging mode it has a new hardware icon in my task bar. Is there a newer version I should be using? Anyone else having these problems? I have tried installing it on 2 separate computers and still get the same problem. I am trying to root my phone and can't even get pass the first step! Please help!
Check in "General" - this is not really a development question - good luck!

Try plugging the phone into the usb ports on your mobo. Other ports didn't work for me
Some people have trouble with front posts. In my case the cable sucks ass for anything besides charging and my kindle micro usb worked great.

hi guys.. first sorry for my english!
so.. i've an hd2 with rafpigna gingerbread equipped, now i need to use an usb keyboard on my phone. i've searched on the web and i've readed something about usb host driver for nexus one.. now i need to know if it's possible to use usb host driver for nexus one on HD2, or if there is a way to plug an usb keyboard.. i need that to write sms and email. thanks!
try a bluetooth keyboard... with a rom what is supporting the bluetooth hid
USB Hosting isn't available on Android on the HD2. Did see something that Cotulla (HD2 God) had done, he was able to use the micro-USB as a host port, but that was like a year ago, and I don't think it progressed much.
i've seen cotulla post.. but can't find any kind of download or tutorial.. there is a post where cotulla says that he's did it.. and tell how to make the cable.. but anything else.. maybe cotulla can reply this thread to make us thing more clear!
Up to now USB is only available with ubuntu, works great.
I found no working driver for WM or Android.

Why don't you just try it and see if it works?
because is a long process for what i've seen... and maybe someone knows if it works or not.. btw i'm trying..
Following some internet guide... the result is... my pc's motherboard literally explode! LoL.. i think i leave this thing untill there isn't a good and clear tutorial!
