I am running the latest Carphone Warehouse version of 2.1 but even though the phone shows good 3G signal, most of the time it can't receive calls. How can I fix this?
I had this problem I simply took my phone to carphone warehouse and they sorted it so I suggest that

I dont think that the mobile is the problem... I got some problems with my provider when I was requesting the SMSes for my monthly bills and I didnt recieve them.

I have this on Orange on 2.1 as well as 2.3 - the only fix I found was to switch to 2G. I rang orange and they couldnt help. Im sure its a provider issue.
Its not a provider issue. Some people get this problem on orange and some get it on O2, and others get it on different networks. And another thing that supports my theory is that since getting my new phone i haven't had any issues even though im still on the same network

Ok, I got my phone unlocked yesterday. Tried ringing it and it now rings and recieves calls on 3G. Im on Orange but I havnt changed provider. I did search for network operators which showed about 6, but as it was an Orange SIM it wouldnt allow me to join another provider which is ok. Strange that it now receives calls ok on 3G huh?

I am using one on mine.
Seemed perfect at first, I just put it in and got on the net straight away WITHOUT putting in a new APN. Full H signal everywhere.
I got a couple of texts thru, but four hours after using the rebelsim, my missis came home from work complaining that my phone has been off for four hours. Sure enough, i put my sim back in my HD2 and a flurry of messages came thru!
Apparently, according to an email another rebelsim user recieved, you have to turn the streak to 2g only mode for a while then put it back into 3g when you need to use the net.
Ill test it out!
29-06-10- Just taken it out in town(1 mile), didnt loose H signal once. Ill be at work tomorrow which is 20 miles away so we'll see how it is after that...fingers x'ed

Right, well just got back from work. Lost signal as soon as I got to work, didnt get it back for aaages. To get it back....I put the sim in my HD2(without rebel) and still no singal, to get signal i have top manually select t-mobile, and network connectivity was restored. Then I put the sim back in my Steak and hey presto i got signal. Switched 3G on and all was ok, even got thru a few texts. But sure enouogh I lost signal again after about an hour, but i just put sim in HD2 then back in Streak and it works!
There is a pdf on the Rebel site which explains that the Network keys on the SIM are refreshed by installing your SIM in an unlocked phone. I have been using the streak in GPRS only mode and I have had no issues for 1 week. I switch to 3g when I need it but always return it to gprs-only after. I Google everyday to see if I can find an unlock code but none seems to be selling them.....yet.....But for now, I can live with this because the streak is just great. I sold my milestone and don't miss it.

I constantly loose my signal, using Rebelsim when e.g. i'm on subway or in a basement and Streak is unable to find my network again (no service message).
The only solution is to put my sim in another 2g phone and back to my streak, and it works. Ofcourse i have tried only using gprs or even no data at allo, but to no avail.
It is practically impossible to use my phone this way, because many times a day i enter areas where the signal is minimal or zero and my phone gets out of service and i need to swap my sim cards.
Any chance we could see a permanent solution (maybe an unlock software here, a site selling unlock codes or even o2 providing them now that streak is being sold sim free)?
I am desperate because i live thousands miles away from England and i see my hard earned cash streak becoming useless.
I dont understand how can rebel sim sell the product...it is not working at all...is anybody here using a rebel sim with full satisfactin..? without any problem..?

If the device looses signal for some reason then you should put your sim in another phone and vice versa to streak, for it to work. No matter if you have 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G,... Period.
Completely unreliable and unusable...

I bought one from eBay , I will have it within the next days, and I was hoping that the rebel sim card would do the job.
As I read a lot are having problems !
Any other way to unlock the Streak ?
I also bought Dell Streak off eBay based on earlier thoughts that it would work flawlessly on Rebel sim. I guess living in AU has it's tolls. I think I might be selling it back to UK friends.
I am just holding back for a few days, RebelSim might have an update or someone will actually get a software unlock for us. Fingers crossed!

The product has always worked from the start
using the V1.1 it was more complicated to get it going none the less the solution was working and still no other solutions exist other Rebel Sim II
with v1.2 we added auto APN detection and auto Regeneration of authentication keys within the Dell so you never loose network and if ever you do then it can regain it self without taking out and also fixed 3G issues for users with free upgrade with v1.2

I got the t-mobile wifi calling app running but it only says Enabling. I wonder if this won't work on the N1. I am giving it a try though. So far it's not looking good.
From what I have been reading we may need a radio update for this to work.

Same here... Stuck on enabling.... I switched over from a bb9700 and loved the UMA on it. It was my only reason for being hesitant to switching over. If i can get wifi calling working on my vibrant that would be awesome. Tmo service is so sketchy at my house wi-fi calling is necessary!

i am not lying but for some reason it work today ,i just call my aunt in Texas and we talk for about 10 minutes so yes its working on my nexus one with rod miui 1.1 and i also did a reset to factory on the setting and is working 100 percent ....

Interesting...it appears to be working for me also...I'm running cm 6. Not showing any 3g or edge. Also not showing a continuous "enabling"...lets me straight into the app with no probs.
Edit...oh...now its cycling though the "enable"...sorry for the mis information

I thought it was working...but I was getting hooked up to t mobiles network still...the phone was showing I was connected to wifi...but I still had network coverage. Guess it was still using the network for calls and text...so my case was a false alarm.

i have an galaxy S almost 6 months now and have tried it with a lot of different firmwares/modems but the problem persists.
I'm on a italian carrier called H3G or 3 and the carrier uses another network for support called TIM when the reception is not good.
My problem is that the transfer from 3 to TIM doesn't happen automaticaly and if i don't constantly look if i have reception it drains my battery really fast.
On my other phones and my friends phones (Nokia,iPhone...) it does this in automatic.
I know that there are some Galaxy S users from Italy with the same carrier.
Do you have the same problem?Have you solved it?

If i enable "Data Roaming" and my phone goes to the support network TIM i would be charged roaming charges for the data. I can only use SMS and calling on their network with my monthly plan.I get the R near the network bars when i pass on their network.I really hope that that's not the problem because im screwed then.Thanks

I'm running a stock Telus DHD and 3 or 4 times a day in areas that I know I get good service I'll lose service temporarily. Sometimes it can be 30seconds sometimes up to 5mins. Telus says it's because they don't have enough towers, but never had this issue on my N1 nor do my two friends have this issue with their DHD's. Anything I can do? Telus doesn't seem willing to swap the handset and claims the issue is on their end.
I seem to b experiencing same thing lately. Network signal just drops... have to either select it manually or restart. No issue with my other phone!

I had to threaten to cancel our corporate accounts before TELUS would take the matter on my personal phone seriously. Pathetic. They are going to send me a loaner to see if it is a device issue or a network issue.

My partner and myself have been having real issues on my DHD and her Desire S with reception on Orange. Lots of times the reception will just die completely for a while before coming back and several instances of going straight to voicemail even though phone doesn't ring.
I've done some testing and noticed that if we change them to GSM only, this doesn't happen and reception stays solid. Only problem is that we then obviously only get basic GPRS when mobile and now 3G and therefore have to switch back to WCDMA.
Anybody else come across this or have some solutions?

what area are you in? I have had trouble with orange in Canary Wharf in the past and it was due to my phone connecting to a mast which wasn't working. So I was connected to 3G, but got no calls, sms or data.. LOL.. 3G at the moment is very unstable at orange and I think it is to do with the merge or something with T-Mobile.
Just contact orange on your area and see if there is anything they can do to sort it out
In Exeter but seem to get it most places I go. I do mean to keep trying the o2 sim from my work iPhone to test the difference.
Never had network issues with o2 and kind of regret moving to Orange but hey ho, done now

My friend and I had same issues with our desires when they came out, both on orange and same symptoms. Like someone replied, we were connecting to a dodgy mast in our area. Switching to gsm all ok. Call orange.
