Complete newbie here so forgive the low level of expertise. I looked through other threads, didn't see anything specific regarding my question.
I'm running FR008, have for a month or so without any problems. Recently though occasionally when browsing from the stock browser, the phone will reboot (not like from power off) to the HTC splash screen, and then return to the home screen, in maybe ten seconds. On a couple of occasions when this has happened, I've returned to the same page I was viewing when it happened and it will repeat. If I go to a different web page, it won't happen again.
Anyone had this experience?
Thanks for any observations or suggestions.

Did you try reflashing the ROM?

in both rooted and un-rooted states, my D2's screen often just turns black and becomes unresponsive - only a batt pull solves it - any ideas on how to fix? currently on stock 2.3.20
I have had that happened to me a few times when I was running stock. I had to slide the keyboard out a few times to correct it (although several times it ended up rebooting). As soon as I rooted and flashed a ROM, that went away. Don't really know how to perma-fix it. Sorry.
Bump. Same issue here. Very frustrating. Tried several suggestions from several different sites. No luck, the issue continues. blanks out, have to pull the battery. Solution?
Hi All,
Very strange issues with my TF101 for last couple or 3 weeks (I think). The screen does not register a touch event, some times it does and others not. Strangest thing is, everything else seems to work, clock, wifi, etc, I can power it down and start again. Sometime it rotates the screen too and other times even screen rotation doesn't happen. If I move around the tablet, shake it etc, then sometime it seems to work for few clicks and then same unresponsive screen.
I have wiped all data, factory reset couple of times but no luck.
kernel:2.6.39.4
build:IML74k.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615
Touch Panel Ver:MXT-1.1 build-1
Android:4.0.3
Can some one please advise?
I'm having the same problem.

Hi,
It seems like my issue is resolved by installing a custom ROM, what I did after all my frustration is went to
http://get.cm/?device=tf101&type=stable
Downloaded the stable version of Cyanogen Mod 9, copied it to my TF101 while its connected to my pc, you can follow instruction here
http://www.androidauthority.com/cyanogenmod-9-cm9-for-wifi-asus-eee-pad-transformer-57846/
And now I have it running only for 30 mins or so but it seems like no freezing...
HTH
Not quite, it seems like after several hours of usage, though it is working immensely better then before, that painful freeze has come back of sorts, it does freeze now, very few times as compare to prior to installing cyanogen mod 9
Same here. I was tired of running Jelly Bean so I decided to give stable CM9 a spin so I flashed it. The screen is so unresponsive it's not even funny. I think I will file a bug at CM issue tracker if that's not only me experiencing that. I have also noticed that scrolling screens using a live wallpaper is not smooth, however this is an entirely different issue.
I've searched the last pages but I wasn't able to find something related. I'm sorry if there's already a thread with this strange display behavior.
OK. When I'm shutting off the display by using the button on the back of the phone or using a gesture with the help of e.g. nova launcher and screen off the display shuts off. So, normal.
But it happens very often that the display shuts on again automatically afterwards. Just a second later. So I've to shut it off again. Sometimes three or four times till it remains dark and off.
I'm currently using the cm11 build on 802 but the behavior has been the same before. I was just too lazy to search and care. However, I've searched today but couldn't find anything. Of course, I've perhaps used wrong keywords due to my bad English..
I searched for this a lot, and found a lot of people experiencing similar things but not exactly what I happen to have. So here is what happens:
1. first screen freezes and you can't touch anything (icons, nav keys)
2. ghost touches start (as if someone touches screen quickly in lots of places), and this causes apps to start at random, numbers are dialed, random strings of characters are being input, etc.
The only thing I can do is to turn off screen, then turn back on and it will unfreeze the screen, and stop ghost touches for a few moments. It will not stop randomly dialed calls so I often have explaining to do to a lot of people why I have called them. In short it's a nightmare. My phone is practically unusable.
It all started just a week ago. I did a factory reset back to the same custom rom - helped for 2 days, and then problem came back. I wiped everything (including internal memory), and flashed a different custom rom - problem appeared within 10 minutes of starting the phone. Both were 5.1 custom roms. Has anyone had this happen?
I found out it can be either faulty screen or battery, but I have no idea how to determine which. I do not want to try replacing one after the other. Is there a way to figure out the cause of the problem?
I will try to take a video of what happens.
Hello
I'm getting 1-2 restarts almost daily, and what is consistent is that the phone will short-vibrate once, then a pause of about 8 seconds, then two quick short-vibrates in succession (about .25 sec apart) and then the phone restarts.
This can happen when in my pocket, it can happen while actively using it, can also happen when just sitting there on my desk with screen on. I haven't seen a pattern regarding app use or activity triggering the restart.
I posted a question a month ago about how people with Androids can troubleshoot restarts. There HAS to be a way (app, etc) that allows you to see crashlogs **without** rooting your phone. Yet, I got no replies here to my last post.
Is this really such a hard thing to do with Android? Please, tell me if I'm wrong and missing something completely obvious. I'm right now factory resetting my phone cause I can't figure what's causing this.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have the some.
Any once have fix for this random reboots ?
Same problem at any moment. And sometimes it stays at a boot loop.
I have changed the firmware to a custom one and the problem persist.
