had installed Sygic Mobile with Mapmyindia maps.
I have installed the software and maps, but the problem with the software is that it keeps on displaying "Waiting for valid signal" on the device and does not find any GPS sattelite. Have tried to wait for upto 1 hour but it still does not find any GPS signal.
Please note i am also using Google Maps on my mobile and it has no issues in finding the GPS satellite.
I am using Samsung Galaxy 3 Apollo (i5801) mobile with Android 2.1 OS.
Mapmyindia support replied me suggesting me to change GPS hardware settings to "Autodetect" in Settings menu. Funny, because there is no GPS hardware settings that can be changed to Autodetect, in the App.
I used the sygic assistent to install the App.
I had the same thing. I reinstalled it and now it works fine.

Hi.
I have Runge K5288 mobile phone and i have problems with GPS.
Can you tell me if it has GPS for sure ?
I used Tom Tom, IGO 8, Destinator 7 but i didn't manage to find the correct port and GPS.
I used it outside for hours.
I also, used GPS Toggle programme to find the signal of GPS, with no success.
seek : 0
I am not using GPRS or WAP with Google maps.
Can you think a way to activate GPS of my mobile phones ,as i think that somehow have been disactivated ???
Thanks.
I just purchased my TD2 this past week, and have been trying to get the gps to work ever since but have not been successful. I tried google maps (COM 4, port 4800 up to 56700), downloaded garmin mobile xt (com 4: com 4), beeline gps (COM 4, port 4800) but none of them work. Beeline GPS does, however, find a gps signal when it searches but I don't think it's working because it doesn't display the coordinates of my location.
I also have one of the latest Radio ROMs (4.49.25.91), so I don't think that is an issue either. Please help! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mine just worked out of the box.
Have you tried, in Google Maps, using the "Managed by Windows" option? I've never had to change the default settings in any way.
Hope this helps.
run quickGPS. It will speed up the satellite search. It comes with WM
actually, i have the same problem. Managed by windows, and AGPS updated, but i can't get my GPS to work, any comment welcome.
I have had some problems with GPS on my pure as well. I found that turning on the wifi (even if there is no hotspot) helped me out. Also sometimes wont wok unless the bluetooth is turned off. I hope that helps
thanks for all the replies... the quickgps did the trick. I needed to download some satellites... I just assumed it would work out of the box.
Thanks again, this site is great!
Check out a program called gpsgate. It will locate more satellites, and get them quick. I use Garmin xt, and it works better with the gpsgate.
So I bought the app tether GPS that uses wifi to send my Samsung stratosphere GPS to the nook. It works great when it works. However, I seem to lose Google navagation when I reboot. Near as I can tell, Google maps will only show navigation if it detects a GPS hardware (or software if I trick it with tether GPS), and when I reboot it doesn't see one when it starts so it yanks the navigation app. If I uninstall maps and turn tether GPS on (or use this other app called fakegps) and re dl maps navagation reappears. Its a pain in the ass to do this each time so I'm wondering if there is a workaround that someone came up with. If I could even get fakegps to startup on boot it might do the trick. I'm running cm7 on the nook, wish we had a startup folder like windows does.

I guess you could try another navigation app. I use Sygic with a BT GPS receiver, also read that a lot of ppl use CoPilot with the NC (Puerto Rico maps suck though ). With Sygic if you have an Internet connection it will make searches on google maps databases for pois and directions.
Seems that if you force close Google maps and then turn on tethergps or fakegps then open maps again navigation will reappear. Too bad we can't force navigation to be there all the time.

Hi to all
I have gen1 blade with tpt for gen2. Currently it is with cyanogen-mod 7 ROM. I'm pleased with this phone but it does have one problem. GPS is not working!! To be exact device fails to "see" any satellites. With WIFI I get lock but only because of WIFI and trace of IP address. I heave used modified gps config file but that got my AGPS working, not regular GPS.
I have tried to find service manual on internet and failed....
Any ideas on how to solve this? I did check antenna connections that i could see and all seams to be fine.
No one?
I have tried Swedish snow rom but had same problem. replaced original gps.conf file;e with modified one and still had problem.
I guess u have not switched on the location services.
Go to settings location services then tick mark all and in GPS source select internal

AGPS works. I do get position according to WiFi but as i leave WiFi covered area I don't get tracking. No updated GPS position, according to software there is no visible satellites.
I have given up on getting this fixed. I have tried different ROMS and programs. Only when i get location from WiFi using ether Google maps or Locus I have position. Using GPS Test app i never get position. Same goes for other apps. I do have old (5 years old) BT GPS dongle and he finds position and satellites within 1minute using this mobile.
I have tried to find service manual or some sort of technical info about GPS in this mobile but found nothing.

Guys help me I am having some issues with my GPS, for example when using Google Maps or Waze, it says: no GPS not showing approximate :crying:
can someone help me? much appreciate it
also to mention I have turned on my GPS on high accuracy but no results. :crying::crying:
am running blisspop 5.1.1/v4
Try performing the following suggestions:
Turn on Android's Assisted GPS feature (available on some devices under Settings > Location & Security). Both Use Wireless Networks and Use GPS Satellites should be checked.
Reset the AGPS data in your device using GPS Status & Toolbox or similar app from Google Play store.
Try a stock ROM too, if it works with stock, it's that ROM causing the problem
