I'm starting a new thread in hopes that we can leave the negative shenanigans out of this one and get some work done here. Please help out all you can! Thanks
EDIT: changed the name of the thread a little as this thread is now including appreciation for our awesome devs here!

My estimate of our wonderful phone receiving 2.3 is Feb. 14th.
*facepalms
impossible
now mods have two threads to close
when and if someone gets it working, they'll make a thread. threads like this belong in general

Devs please make sure you parse apps right that is the biggest problem people forget to check also. You must get rid of all eris files. This is a sdk build and really needs alot of changes to make work.

Just go straight to honeycomb. Cant we just get a rom dump from the blurry pics of the non released motorola tablet shown today on engadget lol.
Now here's my question why must all leaked pictures be blurry??
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
So they look "leaky" haha, clear photos don't look underground enough. I think its hilarious how so many people complain about how crappy gingerbread is but then complain when they don't have it after 3 seconds of it being released!
I know this thread will get closed quickly, but I did just want to express my thanks to all the devs here for all the hard work and energy you put into our toys. You guys deserve honor for what you do because many of you have families, real jobs, and real lives and you do all this for free.
But time is money and it costs you many hours so that we can load ridiculously cool software and soup our phones up, again, for free!
Its time we started giving honor, respect, and donations where it belongs. I apologize for the way some people have treated yall here, its not okay. I also think though that those of us who are appreciative need not be silent anymore, as unexpressed gratitude comes across as ingratitude. I am on here a lot checking for updates and downloadin new roms and probably need to speak up more on the positives. I think people only post when something goes wrong: if everything's smooth we silently bask in the rom glory, but if one bug comes our way we blow up the threads.
I know I am generalizing and this doesn't apply to everyone, but this is just what I've observed. Once again I honor you guys for the the skill, talent, and generosity you have to do all these amazing roms and kernels and themes for us. I know you do it for fun but seriously thank you!
Sent from my Inc which would suck without xda devs
Thats right people, lets all just be thankful we have devs out there supporting our phone. Even if some are split between projects and can't devote full attention to the Dinc, at least its SOMEBODY. At the end of the day, the majority of us would take one look at some code and go "screw that". These people got some major skill, and I'm thankful for ALL the devs every time I see my Dinc with a CM6 bootscreen (And others can insert their own ROM touches, Myn, SR, etc..).
I've always been meaning to really thank the devs here but I never know who to really thank anymore I mean rmk thanks for virtuous ncx I'm sure that's wrong but thanks your your awesome clocks whoever made my iron man splash screen thanks thanks to everyone who has made the eighty million mods I frankenstine into my phone. Without you all my phone would be lame and with you I have something I show off everyday. Thanks a lot to everyone you guys put a lot into stuff that gives close to nothing back and that is just idk awesome lol. I'm done with this thanks rant now. Lol I think we created a thanks thread for now and not a gingerbread one.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
I was going to start a new thread in general just for everyone to thank all the XDA devs working on the Incredible, but this one seems to have that vibe going. Who knows, maybe I still will make that thread. But anyways I just wanted to throw my thanks out there to the devs cause without you this whole forum wouldn't even be here. I know *some of you guys* got trashed earlier on other threads, and I'm sorry for that. I guess some people just got caught up in the smell of gingerbread fresh out of the oven. I hope you guys know that there are those of us who really do appreciate your work and although those like myself don't have the knowledge to write our own code, I personally am willing to help and contribute any way I can. So my hats off to you devs, keep fighting the good fight.
Droid Incredible for the win.
Sincerely,

On a more interesting note.. I've been taking breaks from finals studying to play with the new sdk. My first couple attempts of a pure gingerbread rom for inc all resulted in boot loops. I'll definitely have more time to fuss around with it later today though. So, hold your freakin horses. Beggers can't always be choosers

I'm working on this as well; boot looping here too. Free time is limited right now, though, so I'm not sure if I'll have anything usable before the new year.
Agree with everyone thanking the devs. You guys are awesome. Thanks for helping free us from the grasps of our carriers and use the full potential of our phones!!!!
I just want to post my thanks to all the developers. One of the reasons i purchased an android phone in the first place is the massive mod community that it had. My experience has been amazing and what some of you guys do is beyond what i can even imagine myself accomplishing with the same tools. The few asshats that get bent of shape every time something doesn't work exactly how they want are just that, the few and the loud. They do not speak for the majority and should be penalized for their disrespect.
As much as i could denounce ****ers like AndroidStu and papi, i understand where IncDoes is coming from. He, along with many other devs, give us all these things that they created in their free time completely free of charge. They owe us nothing and only share their creation with us. I am ashamed to be grouped with such ungrateful ****tards.
I'd also like to take some time to post a quick thanks to our dev community. You guys are superhuman.
If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
Yep it's easy to get in a rut and forget and/or take for granted what these guys do. I used to theme for Blackberry and especially when I had multiple themes going, it seemed to consume every ounce of my free time. And what I was doing is like tinkertoys compared to what these guys are doing...no comparison. Not even in the same universe.
There have been some unfortunate events that have occured in the last day or so but regardless of what and when 2.3 advancements hit...my sincere thanks to all who make this phone and community a better place.
While everyone else is at it ill add

+1000. i can wait for Gingerbread. between cyanogen's rom, seanzers' CM6 fixes, invisiblek's kernels and everything else available for the DInc I've got an awesome phone and I'm hella grateful. i would be remiss to not at least shout out all the rest of the devs out there who are doing their thing as well.
the only person I know who'd hate on Devs is my wife, who feels like she's lost me to ROM flashing, kernel swapping, radio upgrading and all the other shenanigans that go with have root, bloody root.
I must also say thanks to all the devs the DInc has
You guys do some amazing stuff that I could never do
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what happened regarding this. I'm not trying to pry or anything, I just think it was such a fantastic ROM and idea and now it's done. Are we done with full Sense 3.0 from now on or do you guys think someone else will pick up on this?

Dang... didn't know it was such a sensitive matter. Currently waiting for RMK to explain what happened like he says he will in his twitter.
right now. if anything is to happen it is to sit still and dont continue to speculate or make anything worse.
The virtuous team will do what they decide when they are ready and just leave it at that.
Respect the team and let them work out what they will do rather than throwing speculation or fuel to the fire. and to quote RMK from his post on the DHD thread:
rmk40 said:
Don't misrepresent us, our issues have nothing to do with TDC, he was incredibly helpful.
Our team is together, by the way. Not everyone is fully up to speed on what happened due to the timezone differences. There's no friction or drama at all within our team, so I'll squash those rumors right now.
The issues are completely around what happened in the DHD forums today. It has nothing to do with the moderation and everything to do with how the community itself behaved and the stances they took. It opened our eyes to how unappreciative and disrespectful people really can be. We'll explain in more detail soon.

Maedhros you forgot to add the parts where you tried to start a rebellion against the coorporate d!<$, Virtuous. Start respecting their work, and the time they put into each of these ROMs.
I hope they dont stop developing. They have made every ROM a piece of art that other devs actually use as a base for their work.
It's back up and running with a new version 1.29, download it
Btw you should also try HoneySense , running it right now it's very nice despite the fact it's only an RC

Thanks for responding, I sent everyone a PM.
I just want to say thanks. The dev is really weak and dry for the Nexus S 4G. Mathkid and a few others have supported us well and I am thankful. ROM wise it's been super dry.
I appreciate the support UniqueNate. I agree, the dev support for the NS4G is kind of weak. Which is surprising since it's kind of a dev phone (in my opinion).
Keep looking out for us and the rom!

I have a dev team now, we're just recruiting more devs. And the number of devs you need depends on how big the project is really. Some people do it alone, but you also have large teams like cyanogen mod team.

It's a Nexus S, pure vanilla. Apps are all over the market and here, the launcher is stock, it's up to marketers and developers in the market to create those and hand them over to be used, same goes for widgets. Not to be a basher, but most dev teams started with solo work finding interest in someone else's and and them stealing from eachother then co operating.
As Johnny was asking though, what work are you doing yourself, not your team, but you? We need a lure, and some hope, not be drawn into a Project where the man in charge is scooping everyones work into a pot to call his.
What part do you play in your team? What ideas do and future do you see for your rom. Do you see it as big as Cyanogen coming with nightlies, or is this a whole new game. I really can't see a custom rom built for Nexus besides ASOP, MIUI roms that we skin and theme ourselves, all we have to look forward to is ICe cream Sandwhich, and some useless ports of other launchers and possible Framework- which won't happen on this phone with a new Nexus coming out.
If you are for real, I am a very good artist, and designer and developer but have very little time to play around. LMK your role, and i'll keep it in mind and get back to you.
I have attempted to port the galaxy nexus miui v5 build to the mesmerize/fascinate. Since I am really new to this and don't have any faith in myself, I'm looking for a person to test the port I made. PM me if you are interested.
If no one is interested, I would at least appreciate if someone who knew a little about porting could take a look at my build.
PM me if you are willing to check my zip file for any errors.
This is all in hope of bringing an unofficial port of MIUI v5 to the fascinate/mesmerize community. Since I'm new to porting, this process might take longer than it would for a experienced developer. I also hope to get help from the other willing developers.

I totally agree with Unjustified Dev, why not make it public in the Dev thread? My ROM is a perpetual work-in-progress and people still download it The folks here nowadays are all pretty willing to throw things on their phone and give feedback, and most really know what they are doing and what their expectations are.
Have faith in yourself! As long as it boots, somebody will definitely use it. Clearly state something like [WIP] in the title and give them a written warning near the download link about making sure they are all backed up to cover yourself
Now is a good time and this is a good place to "cut your teeth", I think. These phones are pretty old and most of the casual flashers have moved on, leaving us with a smaller yet more experienced community! If you use the AOKP or CyanogenMod MTD ROMs as a reference point, you'll probably be in pretty good shape much faster than you may expect.
Good luck, and weclome!
I agree to I would be happy to flash this if I had a computer to Odin with but just post it up like I did with AOCP after enough feedback I got AOCP working even though the Dev came in and requested it gone bunch of asses anyway haha just post it you'll get more feedback I can't wait to see what you get figured out maybe well get miui after all

Hello there Streakers!!! This will be one of the greatest roms yall will ever run. I have been working on the Evo 4g version (Evo 3d, and Evo shift also in works) and it has been a huge hit. I have been very busy with those three and have not had a chance yet to give the streak a shot on compiling. I hope to have a few free hours this week to try and make a couple of builds for yall to test.
This is a beast of a rom and unfortunately the heart of it is not working in this port. The settings (main and CyanMobile) give you the ability to customize this rom in ways that no other rom before it has been able to do. It can look like a simple vanilla GB Aosp rom, a highly modified Jb Aokp style rom, or any combination in between. These are not themes that you and in to get a look but actual changes in the framework and UI. Well enough pumping yall up for now time to get back in my kitchen and finish cooking up goodies.
I suggest yall take the time and check out my thread in the Dev section that is posted in the Op and also I am working on a thread in the general section to aid users in finding their way in the settings of this beast. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=2305750 It is a bit empty right now because I have been busy on a new kernel along with knocking out the last of the bugs in this things. Although I have 5 reserved post so you can bet it will be something big.
Time to run guys. Hopefully next time I drop by here I will have yall a couple of links to try out. Just remember that this will be a blind build. I do not own a streak myself but then again I dont own an evo shift and I was still able to make a simi-functional rom for them also. So keep your fingers crossed and we might just get lucky.

Alright guys I am ready to start work on yalls rom. First off I have some of the source needed to make this but I am missing a few pieces. I will be looking through the development section tonight and trying to get the rest of what I need to start this project. If there are any dev's for the streak willing to team up on this I would be more than willing to make this a group project.
As yall already know ports are a very poor way (most times) to bring a rom to a new device. Porting brings more problems than anything else. With source things just work better the first time around. I have the source pretty much cleaned up and fixed just about every problem there was with the Og Evo. Now it is time to get this bad boy onto the Streak 5!!
Just for a preview of thing you can do with this rom come checkout the CyanMobile Map in my thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305750
Now onto the fun. Anyone who has done any source work with the Streak please hit me up on talk/hangouts ([email protected]).

Well thank you. The big thing I need right now are the proprietary files for the streak. I have been told that the streak is very similar to the evo 4g but without the actual files I am kind of stuck in the mud. I am downloading the cm7 roms posted in hopes that I can extract the needed files. So wish me luck cause the streak has almost no aftermarket support. It looks like a nice device but few have done much with it. I hope I can help out but only time will tell.
