[PREVIEW][ROM][GB 2.3.8] CyanMobile [GB/ICS/JB MERGE] - Streak 5 General

*** Rom taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277764 ***
*** Base rom CM7.2.0 RC0 by hPA ***
I'm post here because the rom not finished yet, beside that, there's a chance @jlmancuso (I hope) willing to make a thread in development section.
Rom running well and stable enough on ds, but still have few bugs that cannot solved by myself.
So far, there are 2 main problems
1) Main settings and Cyan settings not show up, only blank screen. Logcat attached
15:30:15.546 Error qsd8k.gralloc 993 [unregister] handle 0x23f1f0 still locked (state=40000001)

15:30:27.609 Error qsd8k.gralloc 993 [unregister] handle 0x3cabd0 still locked (state=40000001)
15:30:26.734 Error PrintK 2289 <3>init: cannot execve('/system/bin/debuggerd'): No such file or directory
2) Wifi and wifi tether error (this is because libhardware_legacy.so and libandroid_runtime.so)
Need help from other forum members, or somebody willing to compile it from the source. (sources link can be found from original thread link above).

I'll give a hand with research.
My ROM will be based of source but it is still a few weeks away as my computer parts are slowly trickling in and I need to update the S7 roms.
Look at the manifest of the settings

Hello there Streakers!!! This will be one of the greatest roms yall will ever run. I have been working on the Evo 4g version (Evo 3d, and Evo shift also in works) and it has been a huge hit. I have been very busy with those three and have not had a chance yet to give the streak a shot on compiling. I hope to have a few free hours this week to try and make a couple of builds for yall to test.
This is a beast of a rom and unfortunately the heart of it is not working in this port. The settings (main and CyanMobile) give you the ability to customize this rom in ways that no other rom before it has been able to do. It can look like a simple vanilla GB Aosp rom, a highly modified Jb Aokp style rom, or any combination in between. These are not themes that you and in to get a look but actual changes in the framework and UI. Well enough pumping yall up for now time to get back in my kitchen and finish cooking up goodies.
I suggest yall take the time and check out my thread in the Dev section that is posted in the Op and also I am working on a thread in the general section to aid users in finding their way in the settings of this beast. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=2305750 It is a bit empty right now because I have been busy on a new kernel along with knocking out the last of the bugs in this things. Although I have 5 reserved post so you can bet it will be something big.
Time to run guys. Hopefully next time I drop by here I will have yall a couple of links to try out. Just remember that this will be a blind build. I do not own a streak myself but then again I dont own an evo shift and I was still able to make a simi-functional rom for them also. So keep your fingers crossed and we might just get lucky.
Peace,
Love, and
Happiness

Welcome aboard buddy, thank you willing to join us in ds development.
Really glad to know you will compile this rom for ds.
This rom really beast, so many customize features in it.
Can't wait to test it on my ds.
Once again, thank you buddy.

nice... man.. i am drooling

Sweet!
I never thought I'd actually consider going back to GB...

Looking foward to it, thanks for reviving our Streaks. I'm available to do testing if needed.

Do we have any progress?

Looking foward to it, thanks for this

Alright guys I am ready to start work on yalls rom. First off I have some of the source needed to make this but I am missing a few pieces. I will be looking through the development section tonight and trying to get the rest of what I need to start this project. If there are any dev's for the streak willing to team up on this I would be more than willing to make this a group project.
As yall already know ports are a very poor way (most times) to bring a rom to a new device. Porting brings more problems than anything else. With source things just work better the first time around. I have the source pretty much cleaned up and fixed just about every problem there was with the Og Evo. Now it is time to get this bad boy onto the Streak 5!!
Just for a preview of thing you can do with this rom come checkout the CyanMobile Map in my thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305750
Now onto the fun. Anyone who has done any source work with the Streak please hit me up on talk/hangouts ([email protected]).

@jlmancuso :laugh:
I read through the thread you shared.
AND - I really appreciate the work you have put in on this!
I am no developer / I can't code. ( only can manage around macros a little and few loops here n there )
But, I can test and report & pickup for this project!
Full time online and can report based on my usage.
Let me know - absolutely in any way - if I can be of assistance, I will be more than glad!
kudos to you - already! :good:

Well thank you. The big thing I need right now are the proprietary files for the streak. I have been told that the streak is very similar to the evo 4g but without the actual files I am kind of stuck in the mud. I am downloading the cm7 roms posted in hopes that I can extract the needed files. So wish me luck cause the streak has almost no aftermarket support. It looks like a nice device but few have done much with it. I hope I can help out but only time will tell.

Alright got all the files lined out and started the compiler. Hope to have the first batch of testers out end of this week or beginning of next! Some of the code has to be tweaked for the streak but not much

Donate to Haykuro!!!

Hey, it just occurred to me that if everyone who CAN donates $20.00 to Haykuro, he will have himself a nice little fund starting up. If you can donate more, do so. This kid deserves our REAL thanks for all of this work. Lets pony up guys.
17 years old and kicking open source ass... he deserves to be rewarded.
EDIT: Find the link to donate on his iphoneproject.com page.
I'll surely give some $$$ if he can quickly fix market issue
by the way, your URL is invalid for paypal.
I donated a while back!
I donated a while back as well. What bugs me is that we have so many other people working on this like Daproy and Korndub and they get no $$$ or recognition for the most part. I say that Haykuro needs to set up a fund and split moneys received between people who contributed to this. None less, he is a genious.
I've had the same concerns as you.
I think Darkrift worked on this as well. Probably when the builds are pretty much complete, someone should put a list of everyone who contributed so we can send them all something as well.
I had some ppl offer donations but I have not worked on this nearly as much as you guys think. What I have done was my way of donating to him since I am poor and cannot do so with paypal. I tried to beta test when I could, write up tuts, answer questions and much the same as everyone else in the thread did. I do not know the extent of the others who are helping so I cannot say the same for them, but I personally have not been working hard enough on this to deserve donations (unless you wanna send me a free G1, I will take that )
If you feel the need to donate to me, send it here https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=4290101
Everyone has been very generous and caring, and I thank you all for that.
This post will give credit where it's due, and let everyone know what's up (clear some confusion).
History of the builds:
1. xmoo and his anonymous source post up a leak of the system folder from a developer magic (or something similar).
2. Everyone on XDA was going crazy, of course, and I tried to explain how to get it to boot properly, and no one listened, so I took it into my own hands to release a functional version.
3. After some talking with barakinflorida, he gave me the idea of implementing aHome into the build that way we had a home screen (at the time, no home screen was available as aCore crashed when you tried opening it).
4. After a week of running it, i noticed a OTA update being pushed (noticed it in logcat) i pulled it and released build 4.
5. I noticed the SPL and posted that, with the proper changes in update-script for the dream. Same thing with the radio.
6. korndub noted that my update-script for the radio was messed up and simply stripped down the update-script (not sure if you guys remember the recovery errors on my radio update, as opposed to korndubs stripped radio update).
5. A week later I got some info from darkrift which led to build 4.5.
6. After some personal tinkering i got google apps from 4.5 ported to build 4, and called it 4.9.
7. 5.0 was then released after daproy noted the camera and audio fix in the master branches of the kernel. he also kindly donated a pre-compiled kernel, saving everyone time from waiting for me to find a linux comp i could compile on.
8. Since then me and daproy have worked together to bring you the next builds. daproy provides me with the kernels, and i do everything else.
I think in the end, the people who would deserve donations would be up to you.
But this is the history of how it all came to be
I would prefer it were told like this (much more heroic):
5.5 Darkrift daringly put the life of his precious G1 on the line to test out various beta builds that haykuro made in a half asleep state. Fending away fire and deadly battery pulls, he made sure everyone who flashes one of those roms would still have a working G1.

Excuse me for being a NoOb, but here goes....
.... Is it possible to send my girlfriend through paypal? If so where can I find a "how-to"? It is very well deserved.
If she is hot, just send pics :S
Just donated $20 to the man ............. hope others follow and donate.
Keep up the good work man!
I donated a decent amount to hay and never even got a thank you. I will not donate again to him. The least he could have done was sent a thank you...
I'm gonna go ahead and give a big thanks to Haykuro/Darkrift since trying to install a2sd for the first time by following Darkrift's instructions led me to write my original tutorial(how passe that tutorial of mine seems now..), and subsequently my appstosd app, which led to the unionfs method and appstosd2. Of course other people helped along the way(TheDudeofLife, MartinFick, JF) but it was really Haykuro and Darkrift that got me going.
In short: you can partially thank both of them for having unionfs(somewhat ironic considering it was Haykuro's ROMs that never implemented it (j/k man, I think I had enough trouble trying to debug my script with TheDude's ROM))
EDIT: Upon rereading I realized that this could be taken as somewhat backhanded. I didn't mean that Darkrifts instructions were so bad I had to write my own. He intentionally(I now fully understand why) left out some parts of the process and I thought I'd take up the torch and try to have the whole thing in a way I saw as a little bit safer(or at least less scary).

I only started this thread because I know that this kid is 17 and still working on getting his HS diploma, also holding down a job AND working on these roms. Even after he was burned by someone on the forums, he came back when it was ready and gave us Hero (with a NEW Rosie smell)... He continues to put out roms for us and now the canucks with the Rogers rom. I also just saw that there's a Hero rom he just put out for those running Magic/Sapphire devices. The kid continues to work hard on this stuff and I think he deserves to be rewarded. No matter who was helping him get stuff to make the builds lets remember WHO brought the first cupcake to the masses... Now he's brought us a GOOD (not great yet, but it'll get there) version of a rom that we aren't even supposed to have ACCESS to!!! I, for one, think that this guy should get together with JF and Dude and whoever else and start a consortium and start getting paid to develop for Android. This is the OS of the future (for now) and there is some serious need for dedicated programmers who can make it all work... I think he is more on top of it than anyone out there...
That's what made me post this... I have donated a couple of times to the kid, and I'm not done. It's not to pay him for his product, but to thank him for working his butt off on something that he doesn't have to and then giving it away to the masses (again, he doesn't have to)....
So again, Thanks Haykuro and I hope your situation changes soon... Keep up the coding man....

No necessarily... I was actually just trying to explain why I singled him out for donations. I don't know him personally, have never seen the kids face... All I know is that he's been dedicated to making the device better, and sharing it with all of us, all the while going to school and work, dealing with everything that comes with being 17! I noticed some posts that mentioned all who helped him, and that's fine. This is about helping a kid who really needs the help. Who knows, Steve may be the next Gates or Jobs!!!

Only if someone tries to make it ugly! And for the record, I'm no-one's fanboy. Let's look at it this way... In a community, those who have the means help those who need and deserve the help. Haykuro is in the latter group and a lot of us are in the former group. Would you have a thread closed based on the fact that you don't agree with the material? Does that sound like the way things are done on this board? If it is, I'm out!
EDIT: Mods, if you feel there's a better category than Dev for this thread, please feel free to move it...

Devs please make sure you parse apps right that is the biggest problem people forget to check also. You must get rid of all eris files. This is a sdk build and really needs alot of changes to make work.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Just go straight to honeycomb. Cant we just get a rom dump from the blurry pics of the non released motorola tablet shown today on engadget lol.
Now here's my question why must all leaked pictures be blurry??
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
So they look "leaky" haha, clear photos don't look underground enough. I think its hilarious how so many people complain about how crappy gingerbread is but then complain when they don't have it after 3 seconds of it being released!
I know this thread will get closed quickly, but I did just want to express my thanks to all the devs here for all the hard work and energy you put into our toys. You guys deserve honor for what you do because many of you have families, real jobs, and real lives and you do all this for free.
But time is money and it costs you many hours so that we can load ridiculously cool software and soup our phones up, again, for free!
Its time we started giving honor, respect, and donations where it belongs. I apologize for the way some people have treated yall here, its not okay. I also think though that those of us who are appreciative need not be silent anymore, as unexpressed gratitude comes across as ingratitude. I am on here a lot checking for updates and downloadin new roms and probably need to speak up more on the positives. I think people only post when something goes wrong: if everything's smooth we silently bask in the rom glory, but if one bug comes our way we blow up the threads.
I know I am generalizing and this doesn't apply to everyone, but this is just what I've observed. Once again I honor you guys for the the skill, talent, and generosity you have to do all these amazing roms and kernels and themes for us. I know you do it for fun but seriously thank you!
Sent from my Inc which would suck without xda devs
Thats right people, lets all just be thankful we have devs out there supporting our phone. Even if some are split between projects and can't devote full attention to the Dinc, at least its SOMEBODY. At the end of the day, the majority of us would take one look at some code and go "screw that". These people got some major skill, and I'm thankful for ALL the devs every time I see my Dinc with a CM6 bootscreen (And others can insert their own ROM touches, Myn, SR, etc..).
I've always been meaning to really thank the devs here but I never know who to really thank anymore I mean rmk thanks for virtuous ncx I'm sure that's wrong but thanks your your awesome clocks whoever made my iron man splash screen thanks thanks to everyone who has made the eighty million mods I frankenstine into my phone. Without you all my phone would be lame and with you I have something I show off everyday. Thanks a lot to everyone you guys put a lot into stuff that gives close to nothing back and that is just idk awesome lol. I'm done with this thanks rant now. Lol I think we created a thanks thread for now and not a gingerbread one.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
I was going to start a new thread in general just for everyone to thank all the XDA devs working on the Incredible, but this one seems to have that vibe going. Who knows, maybe I still will make that thread. But anyways I just wanted to throw my thanks out there to the devs cause without you this whole forum wouldn't even be here. I know *some of you guys* got trashed earlier on other threads, and I'm sorry for that. I guess some people just got caught up in the smell of gingerbread fresh out of the oven. I hope you guys know that there are those of us who really do appreciate your work and although those like myself don't have the knowledge to write our own code, I personally am willing to help and contribute any way I can. So my hats off to you devs, keep fighting the good fight.
Droid Incredible for the win.
Sincerely,
Cmdoptesc47

On a more interesting note.. I've been taking breaks from finals studying to play with the new sdk. My first couple attempts of a pure gingerbread rom for inc all resulted in boot loops. I'll definitely have more time to fuss around with it later today though. So, hold your freakin horses. Beggers can't always be choosers
When I get the new lap top I'm loking to make the dev jump

On a more interesting note.. I've been taking breaks from finals studying to play with the new sdk. My first couple attempts of a pure gingerbread rom for inc all resulted in boot loops. I'll definitely have more time to fuss around with it later today though. So, hold your freakin horses. Beggers can't always be choosers

I'm working on this as well; boot looping here too. Free time is limited right now, though, so I'm not sure if I'll have anything usable before the new year.
Agree with everyone thanking the devs. You guys are awesome. Thanks for helping free us from the grasps of our carriers and use the full potential of our phones!!!!
I just want to post my thanks to all the developers. One of the reasons i purchased an android phone in the first place is the massive mod community that it had. My experience has been amazing and what some of you guys do is beyond what i can even imagine myself accomplishing with the same tools. The few asshats that get bent of shape every time something doesn't work exactly how they want are just that, the few and the loud. They do not speak for the majority and should be penalized for their disrespect.
As much as i could denounce ****ers like AndroidStu and papi, i understand where IncDoes is coming from. He, along with many other devs, give us all these things that they created in their free time completely free of charge. They owe us nothing and only share their creation with us. I am ashamed to be grouped with such ungrateful ****tards.
I'd also like to take some time to post a quick thanks to our dev community. You guys are superhuman.
If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
Yep it's easy to get in a rut and forget and/or take for granted what these guys do. I used to theme for Blackberry and especially when I had multiple themes going, it seemed to consume every ounce of my free time. And what I was doing is like tinkertoys compared to what these guys are doing...no comparison. Not even in the same universe.
There have been some unfortunate events that have occured in the last day or so but regardless of what and when 2.3 advancements hit...my sincere thanks to all who make this phone and community a better place.
While everyone else is at it ill add

+1000. i can wait for Gingerbread. between cyanogen's rom, seanzers' CM6 fixes, invisiblek's kernels and everything else available for the DInc I've got an awesome phone and I'm hella grateful. i would be remiss to not at least shout out all the rest of the devs out there who are doing their thing as well.
the only person I know who'd hate on Devs is my wife, who feels like she's lost me to ROM flashing, kernel swapping, radio upgrading and all the other shenanigans that go with have root, bloody root.
I must also say thanks to all the devs the DInc has
You guys do some amazing stuff that I could never do

[DEV HELP][?]Looking to Build a ROM!

well i thought i'd get this up before source for JB (4.1) drops... I'm looking for a dev willing to let me watch them as they build a ROM and make changes to that ROM... no i don't need to come over your house to do this... I was thinking of a live video stream of your screen as you do the work... if you're willing to allow me to watch and maybe answer a few questions in between, i'm willing to learn!!
i learn really fast if i'm watching someone do it which is why i'm taking this approach rather than trying to read through a bunch of threads on this topic... that stuff basically looks like a foreign language to me... especially when they talk linux stuff lol... i can catch on quickly but i need to SEE IT BEING DONE... not reading and having my brain decode what i just read...
so please pass this thread along... the site i'm looking to use is join.me and it can be viewed by more than one person... so if someone else is willing to jump in on the fun and the dev is cool with it... we all can watch as they work their magic...
preferably someone that's gonna be building on crespo/crespo4g... but i'll take whoever is willing to teach!!
disclaimer: i'm not even looking for a real "expert" on the subject... just someone to do the basic work so i can take notes and then do the stuff myself!!
PM me if you're a dev and willing to help out!! what do you have to lose? nothing really... you're just gonna load the program and let it stream as you do the stuff you normall would do...
sn: it doesn't have to be Jelly Bean... but seeing as source is coming out soon... i figured someone will want to start fresh and build from aosp... that's really where i'd like to start from!!
I'd love to watch too

umm. the best way to do it is to just follow the step by step guides online. doesnt get much easier than that. you watching isn't going to help when they already have all the software installed

thanks but i have everything i need to build a ROM installed and have already built one from CM9 source... i'm talking about all the other edits and things they do... ie: adding in or removing features of a ROM...
and if you re-read my OP... i said reading this stuff is like learning another language... i'm a visual learner... i need to SEE these things then do them... not read them and try to decode whatever i just read...

Yea I'm willing too. I got a few things going here. Along with ubuntu, sdk, java6, android kitchen. I'm more of a visual learner. I've been constantly researching to point where my brain hurts to think android. I need a break. But I'm willing as well. Some devs out there no even respond to help needed. I would love to watch Fergie716 at work tho.

I agree with the OP, one thing I think is missing (or at least in my experience hard to find) in the Android ROM community is a set of guides on how to properly do things (branch with repo to make a mod, apply patches from other trees, add prebuilt apks, add source provided apps, integrate su, busybox, creating your own vendor, device, adding your kernel, etc)
It's all scattered all over the net, sure you can figure some of it out but if you lower the barrier of entry people will be able to focus their energy on doing better work somewhere else.

i really couldn't have said it any better!!
i know Fergie usually puts out some great tutorials... i used his stuff when i was learning to theme... so hopefully he delivers on this as well... i would still like to do a live "webinar-type" of training tho if any dev is up for that!!
we can get a time going so that everyone can login at the same time and see what's being done...
I'd also like to see how its done, I would love to be able to cook up some things and then release a ROM to the public. I'm sure it's not easy but I'm willing to take a wack at it
Btw are you guys using pretty powerful computers for building ROMS? Or would you say they're average spec?

mine isn't that great tbh... but it manages to put out something... once your setup is correct and you do your first build... the second build of that ROM is usually a lot faster...
i think average would be around quad core with 8GB RAM... that's my guess based on a few devs i've heard from...

it will take longer than some other PC's... but that will still work... i'd guess a few hrs to build a ROM... mine is around those specs and it takes a few hrs on the initial build lol
There should also be a thread for porting, kinda like "chef central" where users could get support on certain issues with their ports.. Over there in chef central the people seem to only help people that are building from source.. there's not too much support for people doing ports which is unfortunate because not everyone is skilled enough to build from source and having ports is what keeps some devices alive... In this thread there would be threads where you could post your logcat if your not getting boot and some of the more experienced porters (like fergie for example) could take a look and point you in the right direction. Also there could be guides and tutorials as how to get certain aspects of the ROM working like HWA, WiMax, MMS/SMS so on and so forth... I think that it would really bring a lot of new life to some devices that don't get the support that they should..
Anyone else agree on that or is just me?

I agree with the whole sentiment "more people should build things", but not with "aosp is too hard so we should help people do ports". Unless a port is the only way to get a device working, we definitely should focus on making aosp easier to learn if that's part of a problem the porting people are having.
Anyway, I started my own ROM yesterday and might end up making a wiki to document a bunch of things I'm doing. It's a very stock-ish ROM though, so I won't spend much time writing about adding mods other than a few basic ones.
-IF- I do get around to making the wiki, I will post here about it.
As for the computer, I am using a i7 930 (2.8GHz) with 24GB of RAM.

id like to ask.. is making a rom really difficult.. how much java language knowledge would a person need to have to build from source...?

Well, one of the fun things about being a maintainer rather than a developer is that you really don't -need- much knowledge at all.
Everything helps, though. Yesterday I fixed a gcc compilation issue from knowledge of C++ that I acquired over a number of years. It wasn't a hard bug to fix and I could've asked a friend about it instead, but being a programmer lets me get away with fixing mistakes I see in AOSP when it's necessary (it rarely is).
Later, in my kernel compile, I turned on a compilation flag because I knew that a warning (that failed the build due to -Werror) was completely inaccurate. Good luck doing this if you don't know what's a compilation flag, and good luck doing it safely if you're not sure what the warning means and if it is really safe to override it (it often isn't).
If you want to make a ROM and be efficient about it, I think the two most important skills (in order of importance) are the ability to use git and to solve problems. Without a minimum of source control ease, it will be a pain in the ass to add features to your mods or to keep track of changes efficiently (especially when it comes the time to branch off releases and what not). Problem solving is what you do whenever stuff that should work doesn't work. And it's always hard because if it wasn't hard it would be documented already so you wouldn't have the problem.
If you want to build FEATURES for a mod (that is, not repack what others have written), then yes you will need programming knowledge. Java, C and probably C++. Mostly Java for user facing stuff.
great post gparent... that was a wonderful breakdown of how ROM making works... if it's all true (which it sounds like it), then this might be a bit more than i can chew lol... i'm still willing to see someone in action do these things so i have a better understanding of how to put things together and maybe one day i'll take a stab at building my own ROM!!

Looking for a miui v5 pre alpha tester

I have attempted to port the galaxy nexus miui v5 build to the mesmerize/fascinate. Since I am really new to this and don't have any faith in myself, I'm looking for a person to test the port I made. PM me if you are interested.
If no one is interested, I would at least appreciate if someone who knew a little about porting could take a look at my build.
PM me if you are willing to check my zip file for any errors.
This is all in hope of bringing an unofficial port of MIUI v5 to the fascinate/mesmerize community. Since I'm new to porting, this process might take longer than it would for a experienced developer. I also hope to get help from the other willing developers.
Mez
I know I replied but go ahead and post it but state its a dev only test.

I totally agree with Unjustified Dev, why not make it public in the Dev thread? My ROM is a perpetual work-in-progress and people still download it The folks here nowadays are all pretty willing to throw things on their phone and give feedback, and most really know what they are doing and what their expectations are.
Have faith in yourself! As long as it boots, somebody will definitely use it. Clearly state something like [WIP] in the title and give them a written warning near the download link about making sure they are all backed up to cover yourself
Now is a good time and this is a good place to "cut your teeth", I think. These phones are pretty old and most of the casual flashers have moved on, leaving us with a smaller yet more experienced community! If you use the AOKP or CyanogenMod MTD ROMs as a reference point, you'll probably be in pretty good shape much faster than you may expect.
Good luck, and weclome!
I agree to I would be happy to flash this if I had a computer to Odin with but just post it up like I did with AOCP after enough feedback I got AOCP working even though the Dev came in and requested it gone bunch of asses anyway haha just post it you'll get more feedback I can't wait to see what you get figured out maybe well get miui after all

hi, i really want to your phone Miuiv5 mesmerize:good:

[Q] Beta-testers needed.

Hi guys,
I am trying to develop ROMs for Android. And I have developed one. This ROM is based on the stock HTC One ROM. Getting straight to the point, I need some Beta-Testers as I don't have the device with me. Sure, I'm gonna buy it soon. But in the meantime, I don't want to waste my precious time. SO< ANYONE INTERESTED? :highfive:
Thanks in advance.
Blind builds like what you did are not encouraged because it magnifies the chances of things to go wrong since you can't test the ROM yourself. Just a not of caution

yea. I know it is a blind build, but I didn't really do any huge modifications. Just some changes here and there. I have the build ready with me. I just need a guy to tell me surely that this build is safe to work upon further. That's because I am gonna resort to android development in future.
Short of sounding like a D-bag, what you're asking for is a little ridiculous. You sound like you're new to developing, new to the boards (Welcome btw) and don't have the device yourself. Its like asking a random person to test drive a car you just built by reading a "Build-it-yourself Car". If you had more credibility, i.e. More posts, past work, past examples of ROMs or even a list of what was "modified" in this ROM, people might step up to help.

Everyone's gotta start somewhere, even just doing this is good practice for him.
I'd test for ya op but I rely heavily on this phone and I'm s off. I'd advise any testers to be s on just to be extra safe

I do agree you have to start somewhere. But he should get his own device and test it himself. That is better than just creating something that you don't even know it works.
Some "experienced" developers sometimes don't even own the device to create a custom ROM. But the key is that they are already experienced and would know how things work. But for someone who is starting out and have very little experience, they are better off doing the tesing themselves.
I bet he is not really a dev but more like a zip dev if you know what I mean.
OP.. please understand. Your new here, you have no proven track record, your asking people to entrust a €600 device to something that you have 1. not clearly laid out in your opening post 2. have no means to test yourself 3. can not provide support if you feck up other peoples devices.
Sorry but without any past experience here your trust level is 0.
Your request is akin to a nigerian ringing me and telling me I've won a multi-million € win and all they need is my bank account, and credit card info....
At least stick around here, get the device yourself, build up your reputation, and try a few things yourself and then clearly lay out what you have done in any further thread requesting testers because blind faith only goes so far......... unless you are indeed Jesus (or a nigerian with my mulit-million pound win)...
Wow.. so we can't waste his precious time. Lol

Yeah, sure. I would work on this ROM further. But somebody has to test this adolescent ROM first, because it could happen that I work upon this ROM without testing it and then it would happen that it won't work. And then I could have to roll-back, only to start from scratch.
And that is why I'm asking you guys to test this out. I guarantee regular updates, fixes, etc.
