Hello there, I have a stock HTC HD2 purchased in May 2010 (T-Mobile United Kingdom Variant). I am attempting to upgrade to windows 7 or another ROM.
I have just installed HSPL3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6891358&postcount=1893, which seems to have installed successfully.
However, when I start the phone in bootloader-mode (by pressing the volume down key during power on)
I get this:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
When connected to a USB the "SERIAL" at the bottom changes to "USB". Am I at the correct point at which I can now flash over ROMs?
I have then attempted install MAGLDR 1.12, on the PC side of things it seems to run succesfully, however on the HTC HD2 side it restarts, vibrates then just hangs/stays at the T-Mobile circle loader.
Is my phone bricked?
seems right so far, to get to MAGLDR restart your phone without the USB cable attached and hold end call button, that will bring up the menu screen ,use the vol up and down buttons to go to USB flasher mode, you will need to connect the USB cable when it asks, i cant remember if you need to connect the USB cable before hitting USB flasher or after it but try both, once all is connected windows may install some drivers at this point run your WP7 ROM

Ok your chooses here are:
A: Do a hard reset of your HD2 by holding both the volume up and down buttons down while powering on the HD2 and then following the on screen instructions.
B: Put your HD2 into bootloader and connect it to your computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial to change to USB. Then flash either your stock ROM, a custom Windows Mobile ROM of your choose, MAGLDR if you want to run Android or WP7, or cLK if you want to run Android.
Hi everyone, I have a question, hopefully someone will have a simple answer
I want to install magldr 1.12.
Is it possible for me to:
1.) boot to the bootloader (by holding down (down volume button + power button)
2.) in the boot-loader screen, connect my HD2 via USB cable to the PC to start a connection
3.) open ROMUpdateUtilty.exe (with administer privileges)

Serial
After I plug in the USB cable to connect the HTC HD2 to my computer, The "Serial" word above then changes from "Serial" to "USB" and my computer recognizes the phone and installs a driver / software.
Would it then be safe for me to Run Magldr 1.12 ROMUpdateUtility.exe???
If I do this, I would simply be installing Magldr to a part of the phones internal ROM, is this correct?
Thank's in advance, hopefully someone can answer this.
Imo...All the answers you need are in your question! LOL
Hiya Arkatis,..
I just want verify before pressing "ok" thereby avoiding something "bad." haha
What worried/worries me was that the ROMUpdateUtility.exe mentioned something to the effect of " ALL data will be deleted / erased" by continuing... so that kinda makes me think.. I need to verify.
Right now I'm using the SD version of MDJ_GingerBread_HD2_v.1.0_RC5_RAM_STOCK ... BUT I am ultimately looking at upgrading to use the newest MDJ's cyanogen MOD 7 2.6 NAND rom.
Yes, you can flash via the RUU with the phone directly in the bootloader. This is how I always flash when using the RUU. When you flash MAGLDR it is going to wipe out your Windows Mobile environment you have on your NAND. It won't touch your SD card though.
After flashing MAGLDR then you will want to flash a new NAND Android ROM.
im trying to update from magldr 1.11 to 1.13. can you walk me through it?
hey supermanqc23
hey men... have you found an answer to that??? that's exactly my case...
you upgrade the same way you flashed it on there in the first place, through bootloader.
My hd2 will not boot after i tried to install android according to this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939682&page=22
First i installedHSPL4, i had the R 2.15.50.14 on startup, and the I install MAGLDR. No errors during the install, the phone stuck at the white background with the green htc logo.
The phone is brought in Norway, i get up the "rainbow screen", it look like:
pb81100 SS-BC
SPL- 3.03.HSPL XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x50
My computer do not recognize the phone, and the WMDC do not connect.
What to do?
Boot your HD2 into the rainbow colored screen, this is called bootloader. After you are booted into bootloader you connect your HD2 to your computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of bootloader to change to USB and then you can reflash MAGLDR or flash back to Windows Mobile. When you see the USB in the white bar of bootloader this means you have a HTC USB sync connection.
Hi all
Newbie. And new to Phone Updates etc.....
Have HTC HD2 on O2. Was attempting to put NAND on it, followed the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11215136&postcount=8
All steps conpleted successfully, but after "Step C: Install MAGLDR"
The MAGLDR113 Rom updated the phone successfully, then it rebooted and is now stuck the O2 screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
what rom did you flash after you installed magldr?
try to flash magldr again
u got hspl 2.08 ?
Do you have the correct radio (2.15.50.14) ?
have you tried pressing the power button on booting?
Flash again winmo 6,5. After that flash HSPl 3.0. Flash radio 2.15.50. In boot screen ( hold power button and volume down) Flasyh Magldr.
I would say invisiblebm is right - reflashing again should help - cause as long as your reacts when you push the power button it is not dead
Hi all. Thanks for info.
Current state is that the phone is frozen at 02 welcome screen. Nothing happens when soft or hard boot.
When you boot holding down arrow I get
PB8110 SS-BC
SPL-3.03.hspl XE
0x05
cotullaHSPL 0x50
Unable to reflash, as the phone doesnt showup to the pc on usb, though the white part of the 4 colours RED/GREEN/BLUE/WHITE does change from serial to USB when you connect to the PC.
Phone shows up as a device "qualcomm cdma technologies MSM"
Is there anything more I can do save for sending back to O2.
Was at version o SPL 1.66.0000
I choose 3.03HSPL
Leo 2.15.50.14.rar contents - Via CustomRUU
The MAGLDR113 113 from the XDA Dev Site
Completed successfully, then rebooted, but didnt come up.
cheers
John
Even thought there is no apparent phone connection, it still connects if it switches from serial to USB. I had the same problem. Mine also said qualcomm techs. But when i reflashed MAGLDR using DAF.exe, it worked fine.
Can you post the link to the downlaod please
Just put the phone in bootloader, connect USB, when says "USB" on bottom of phone screen, its ready for flashing. Ignore the fact the PC doesn't seem to connect, the phrase "get an activesync connection" in the various tutorials is a pain in the arse, (even though it is technically correct.)
Anyway, magldr won't start cos you have the wrong hspl. As you already know because it says so in post 1 of the magldr thread, which you DID read, right? It says magldr will only work with 2.08.hspl, , , you have 3.03.hspl.
Enter bootloader, connect USB, run hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl and reboot, magldr should start.
So what I understud is , that the phone is not connecting to the PC. Try this:
Restart you PC, Go in to bootloader and try again, In most of the cases is some conection error between the devices. It hapen to me many times.
Thanks. Missed the SPL-3.03, rushing to do it. Its now on 2.08 and the loader comes up. Just the flash to do next. cheers
lesson of the day?
Always read the instructions 10 times
very very very true
Thanks to all fro your help btw, since running Nand, and now Gingerbread 2.3.

Question: When you enter bootloader - do you connect the cable before or after? And what happens when you try to start flashing radio or wm? Does the installer say phone not connected?

If you run the windows mobile installer (using CustomRUU) when you are in bootloader mode, it will install winmo for you.
