Hey all,
A friend of mine tried to install android on his HD2.
After installing HSPL it worked fine.
But after flashing MAGLDR the phone gets stuck at the HTC bootscreen.
And I cant get the phone connected to activesync
What did I try:
1. Hard Reset
2. Using a stock rom RUU (ruu_signed.nbh)to flash like this:
a)Formatting the sd card to fat32(16GB)
b)Putting ruu_signed.nbh on the sd card and renaming it to leoimg.nbh.
(I tried the Unbranded and the NLD RUU)
c)Turning phone on with vol down.
After the thrid step (c) I get on a screen that says "Loading..." but after 30 minuts nothing happen.
Anyone! What do I need to do?
Greetz,
Michka
BTW i got my ruu_signed.nbh files from the %temp% folder of the RUU installer.exe
This is what he gets on the tripel color screen.

The SD card should be freshly formatted, FAT32 format.
It´s not easy to find out what went wrong with MAGLDR.
Did you use the latest version, 1.13?
What HSPL and what Radio ROM version were on the device?
And finally, do you still get into the bootloader screen (vol. down + power),
what does it say in there?

Yes i used the latesd version o MAGLDR,
HSPL 3
Radio dont remember
Yes i can get in the bootloaderscreen.
Well, then please provide as much information as possible.
It´s really hard or even impossible to help without more information.
It´s a bit like: My car is broken. What should I do?
"A stock ROM" is very tight information...
For your reference, flashing through SD card deletes HSPL, that´s why I asked
what the bootscreen information says...

See, the information you posted is helpful indeed.
You still have SPL 2.08.0000 on your device instead of 2.08.HSPL. On the other hand, I still don´t know what your original ROM was.
Please try to re-install with HSPL3.exe, and please make sure to install the correct Radio ROM in case you don´t have it yet, should be 2.15.50.14.
Both items are required to run MAGLDR properly.
If your attempt to flash a stock ROM failed, then something else was wrong.
There are known problems flashing with 8GB, or greater, SD Cards.
Put the phone into Bootloader Mode and then connect to the PC.
Run HSPL3 and select 2.08.HSPL
Put the phone into Bootloader Mode and then connect to the PC.
Download and flash the RADIO 2.15.50.14.
Put the phone into Bootloader Mode and then connect to the PC.
Now you are ready to go through the MAGLDR instructions and NANDRIOD flashing.

Thanks for adding that hint, I keep forgetting this very fact.
I do have the 2GB card which came with the device ready for flashing purposes... it was even my Goldcard at very early stages.
Oke thx for the replies.
I will try it tonight!

Thank you guys.
The problem was hspl.
Because of the sd card (i think) hspl wasnt flashed right. So i couldnt install a radio or get magldr working. Now i reinstalled hspl and i can do anything.
So what i did in short:
1. Reinstalled hspl 3.00 with a 2gb sd.
2. Flashed the right radio.
3. So now magldr was working
4. Flashed the nld stock rom(to be 100% sure everyting works).
5. Reflashed magldr 1.03 again.
6. Flashed an android disre hd rom (standard nand rom doesnt seem to work).
7. We are happy everything works.
Thx again!

Hi all
Newbie. And new to Phone Updates etc.....
Have HTC HD2 on O2. Was attempting to put NAND on it, followed the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11215136&postcount=8
All steps conpleted successfully, but after "Step C: Install MAGLDR"
The MAGLDR113 Rom updated the phone successfully, then it rebooted and is now stuck the O2 screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
what rom did you flash after you installed magldr?
try to flash magldr again
u got hspl 2.08 ?
Do you have the correct radio (2.15.50.14) ?
have you tried pressing the power button on booting?
Flash again winmo 6,5. After that flash HSPl 3.0. Flash radio 2.15.50. In boot screen ( hold power button and volume down) Flasyh Magldr.
I would say invisiblebm is right - reflashing again should help - cause as long as your reacts when you push the power button it is not dead
Hi all. Thanks for info.
Current state is that the phone is frozen at 02 welcome screen. Nothing happens when soft or hard boot.
When you boot holding down arrow I get
PB8110 SS-BC
SPL-3.03.hspl XE
0x05
cotullaHSPL 0x50
Unable to reflash, as the phone doesnt showup to the pc on usb, though the white part of the 4 colours RED/GREEN/BLUE/WHITE does change from serial to USB when you connect to the PC.
Phone shows up as a device "qualcomm cdma technologies MSM"
Is there anything more I can do save for sending back to O2.
Was at version o SPL 1.66.0000
I choose 3.03HSPL
Leo 2.15.50.14.rar contents - Via CustomRUU
The MAGLDR113 113 from the XDA Dev Site
Completed successfully, then rebooted, but didnt come up.
cheers
John
Even thought there is no apparent phone connection, it still connects if it switches from serial to USB. I had the same problem. Mine also said qualcomm techs. But when i reflashed MAGLDR using DAF.exe, it worked fine.
Can you post the link to the downlaod please
Just put the phone in bootloader, connect USB, when says "USB" on bottom of phone screen, its ready for flashing. Ignore the fact the PC doesn't seem to connect, the phrase "get an activesync connection" in the various tutorials is a pain in the arse, (even though it is technically correct.)
Anyway, magldr won't start cos you have the wrong hspl. As you already know because it says so in post 1 of the magldr thread, which you DID read, right? It says magldr will only work with 2.08.hspl, , , you have 3.03.hspl.
Enter bootloader, connect USB, run hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl and reboot, magldr should start.
So what I understud is , that the phone is not connecting to the PC. Try this:
Restart you PC, Go in to bootloader and try again, In most of the cases is some conection error between the devices. It hapen to me many times.
Thanks. Missed the SPL-3.03, rushing to do it. Its now on 2.08 and the loader comes up. Just the flash to do next. cheers
lesson of the day?
Always read the instructions 10 times
very very very true
Thanks to all fro your help btw, since running Nand, and now Gingerbread 2.3.

CHEERS, you were a life saver.
Hi everyone! After checking the forum on possible quirks that can be encountered when installing MAGLDR I hope someone can help me with the following:
I am trying to install Android on the HD2 via full-NAND-flash (i.e. directly via USB without SD card). I read tons of webpages and I believe I understood the necessary steps. Check the SPL; Install Hspl; Install MAGLDR; etc.
I tried to install MAGLDR 1.13 and everything went nice and quick: 100% complete on the phone; 100% complete on the PC; click on finish; phone reboot .......... and now the HD2 does not go past the green-on-white HTC splash screen. No boot.
I can still acess the colour-striped bootloader, which reacts if I connect the USB cable. No more.
What have I done wrong? Can it be recovered?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
You need to do a bit more reading (it's fundamental). Flashing MAGLDR is only the first step in getting Android on NAND. Next, you'll need to flash CWM and if you're going to install Android, you are going to have to have an SD card.
It's clear you read enough to get as far as you have. I suggest doing a bit more.
Start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
Thanks but I don't think I can do much more at this point. The phone seems to be stuck (see my initial post). Cheers,
Did you try holding the Red power button down while the phone was powering up? That should take you into the Magldr menu.
Also, since you say you can get into the bootloader, have you tried reflashing Magldr?
Yes, I did. However, in the flash window, where you should see you are going from ROM version X to ROM version Y, this information does not show. The flash process seems to go through normally but then the situation is the same one.
The bootloader I can access is the normal one, with the red-green-blue stripes: it shows:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
On the bottom it reads "serial" and if I connect the USB cable it changes to "USB".
Do a task 29.
Flash radio 2.15
reflash magldr
Hope this helps

I think this is the case sensitive for the OP explained symptoms.
Flash 2.15 or any Radio Rom that supports 576MB.
I have used Task29+radio 2.15.50.14, the doloop file repackaged by shadrac.....
So in principle the radio should be the correct one.
Shall I try with the separate flashes? Would you please let me have the links to download them?
(beginning to despair.....)
Thanks
Use HD2 Toolkit to re-flash MAGLDR 1.13... easiest and most comprehensive tools.. If u still stuck, re-install WM ROM (better custom ROM since u want to install AD NAND) this w keep ur HSPL. Once u are back to WM, repeat the whole cycle use the kit (pls confirm ur Radio 2.xx.50.xx (above 2.07.50.xx) and not the .51.
gd luck
Norton 360 doesn't like the HD2 tkit...
Any idea why Norton 360 discards the download telling me the HD2 Toolkit is a threat? That's odd...... the download link comes from this very site.
Anyone else with the same experience? Cheers!
Hi, i see this:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.0.8.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
And i can go further, if i insert a stock rom in SD rename to leoimg.nbh it is stuck on "loading..."
any help?
I try to flash hspl but nothing happens for hours....
what version of hspl did you flash?
an what type hd2 do you have(tmous or eu)????
i've tried 2.08 and above... but always stuck on animation of bar going left and right, i left it for 2 hours, but nothing happens!
plz help!! Is my hd2 bricked?
Don't think so, from what I know you have to flash the wrong radio ver on tmous handsets to brick them...
Have a read here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Have to go out now back later..
i've downloaded the unified tool, but nothing works!
Better use the hd2 nand tookit (link in above link)
what happens when you power on an hold the vol down button...do you get a three-color screen?
yes with those infos:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.0.8.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
so?
Try the hd2 nand toolkit and select install hspl and follow instructions.
When you plug usb into phone it should say usb on the tri-color screen.
I've tried. The bar of loading goes around but The hspl won't install. I will try again now
The same again. Nothing change.
so it recognised the phone tried to install, and did it give an error..??
What version did you select ?
i tried 2.08 hspl and others, but stuck on bars loading back and forward and even after two hours nothing happens... i'm desperate...
Only other thing I can think of is check that your anti-virus is not blocking it , actually turn it off and try again....
i've disabled real time protection and tried...nothing.
i dunno what to do more...

Disable completely ...to make sure..
i've a mac at home and i'm trying now with a vmware machine... with no AV, tomorrow i'll try on a laptop with wxp installed...
But now, no success with the wxp vmware, without AV. Same behaviour of a "direct" wxp installation.
should active sync accept incoming usb connections?
To install any SPL or HSPL there must be any SPL version from this list on your device:
SPL 1.42.0000
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
SPL 2.10.0000
SPL 3.03.0000
Otherwise the installation will fail!
First go to here to download HSPL 4. I suggest HSPL 4 because it supports all SPL versions that are out right now including SPL 3.03.0000 and SPL 3.10.0000. Remember you can also use HSPL 4 to flash back to your original SPL. Once you have HSPL 4 downloaded use a zip program like WinZip, WinRar, or Win7 to extract the .exe file for the DFT installation utility to a location of your choosing on you computer. Take and put your HD2 manually into bootloader by holding the volume down button down while powering on your HD2. When you see the multicolor bootloader screen on your HD2 connect it to your computer via USB cable. If it is the first time you have connected it to your computer while in bootloader you will have to give it a minute or two for the drivers to install. When you see the Serial in the white bar of bootloader change to USB you have a HTC USB Sync connection between your HD2 and your computer. This is very important, make sure you have the latest ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center version (depending on what version of Windows your computer uses) installed on your computer as it has the updated USB drivers for the HTC USB Sync connection. Go to here to download these. When you see the USB in the white bar of bootloader right click on the HSPL 4 utility and select run as administrator. Follow the on screen instructions and select the desired HSPL version when it prompts you for what version you want to install. If you want to flash MAGLDR to install NAND Android or Windows Phone 7 you have to select 2.08 HSPL. When you see “We hacked it” on your HD2 screen you click yes on your computer in the box on the screen to confirm you see “We hacked it” then click close and you have flashed HSPL to your HTC HD2. T-Macgnolia
This is from the link I gave you earlier.
Read it carefully and follow the instructions to the letter. go to the original post for the links.
That's as far as I can go to help you..
Best of luck
i've got a 2.08.0000spl now... but i can't manage to flash a hspl...is the bootloader damaged or corrupted?
done the removal... when plugged again it automatically reinstalls drivers from activesync folder, is this correct? should i uninstall activesync too??
Hello everyone, I was trying to install new rom by using hd2 toolkit, first I did a task29 then I flashed radio. I mixed the steps and installed hspl, so after that I am not able to install anythink on my phone. First I tried installing Magdlr but it wouldn't passed 0%, then I tried task29 again and 0% again. Then I think the problem would be hd2 toolkit but no, I tried task29 standalone and no work, flashing a radio rom and no work. What can I do now? Thanks in advance..

Don't you read things carefully before doing something like this? If you had another phone, there's a chance you could have bricked it by doing something stupid like that.
Are you able to enter the bootloader? What SPL version does it show there? Have you tried flashing a stock ROM via the SD card?
First task29 was completed, then radio rom installed, and then hspl. All done by hd2 toolkit. After that I couldn't able to flash anythink like rom, task29 or else. So my phone only enters when i open it with volume button, else it only displays htc logo.

hi, check the link Below, does it show the same SPL?
nope, mine is SPL-2.08.0000, but I can change it with hspl4, but can't downgrade it!

U mixed up the sequence mate, the guide says that 1st install HSPL then Task29 then Radio.
Did u still have connection between your phone and computer?
if not try hit reset button while holding down the volume key.
yep, i mixed it. i can reset it but without any rom update or any update (it won't pass 0%) it has no meaning to reset the phone. I have connection between computer via usb in bootloader mode only!
If u can connect the phone to your computer via boot loader that's a good new's mate. There's still hope to fix your phone.
So u currently has SPL 2.08 right?
and please check if u has radio ver 2.15.50.14?
if u has both of this and u still cannot install MAGDLR.
I used to has this problem. After i decided to switch to cLK it Fixed everything.
may be u should try too .
U can do it via HD2tool kit. by connect phone to your computer under bootloader mode (the red green white blue screen)
** Dont' for get to chosing cLK partition that's match your ROM requirement **
after install cLK then install Recovery then Flash the ROM.

Please, if you don't know exactly what you're talking about don't give out incorrect information. It is NOT possible to install cLK without HSPL, and thus the Task29 won't work either.
@OP, have you tried installing a stock ROM from the SD card? I'm not sure exactly how to do this (see, not giving incorrect info ) but if I'm not mistaken the procedure is to rename the stock ROM to a .zip extension, unzip it, copy RUU_signed.nbh to the SD card and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh, then enter the bootloader and follow the onscreen instructions. However, please check somewhere else that what I've said is correct as well. From here, you can just flash HSPL then MAGLDR, CWM and a zip ROM.
Problem solved, thanks for your answers!
