The Voicemail Icon kept popping up last night. - Epic 4G General

I just set up my voicemail 2 days ago, a message was left yesterday, I have PF Voicemail and regular vm, what's the purpose of the PF vm? could that be why that icon would not go away? should i just remove it?
also, i noticed no matter what i do, that amazon mp3 app wont' go away.
how can i really remove some of these apps and also how can i make sure different apps won't keep popping up or showing that they are running in the back ground...

Voicemail Notification

I have a standard G1, non rooted, cupcake version.
Tonight since I retrieved my voicemail the icon hasn't disappeared from the notification bar, I tried clearing notifications and rebooted the phone, it's still there. I have no voicemails but the icon is still there.
Any ideas?
it will go away, sometimes mine stay there for a whole day before it just decides to go away. call your voicemail a few times to make sure and maybe the phone will get the hint. other than that you can't do anything about it
Weird, hasn't happened to me before.
Funny cos I have been calling the VM to 'remind' it.
Thanks man, hopefully it'll go bye bye on it's own.
This happened to me, it finally went away when I called myself from another number and left a voicemail and then deleted it.
Yeah, your best best is to call your VM, play around in the menu's for a while, and it should go away.
You can also try going into the "Call Options" menu and erase the number for your VM (write it down first!), let it sit for a minute or so, and then put the number back in again.
I get anomolies in the VM system quite frequently, and it normally occurs when I delete a VM and then hang up too quickly (in the US, before it says "Press 1 to undo"). I let it return to the main menu in the VM inbox first now and normally the VM icon goes away as soon as I hang up.

[Q] Ghost Voicemail Icon

Any time I reboot the voicemail icon pops up. The only way I can find to clear it is to delete the data using app manager or wipe the data in Titanium for Phone 4.4 (Voicemail) but every time I reboot, it pops up again. I am running Gummy 4.4. If anyone knows of a way to stop this it would be deeply appreciated. I have tried freezing it already. I don't know if this makes a difference but I also have Google Voice and I use that for VM. I tried deleting the Google VM account, leaving a VM through the old Sprint VM and deleting but that did not fix the problem.
Cont.
I called Sprint, no luck even when the deactivated my Sprint Voicemail. I found an app called Notification Off that I am using for now. It automatically disables the notification when it comes up. Not the perfect outcome but it will have to do until someone figures this out.

Voice mail notification stuck?

I have searched and searched and I'm sure there is an east fix. But this has me stumped.
I am rooted and have safestrap installed. I have frozen a few apps through tibu such as the Ota update and the security policy update.
Out of the blue 3 days ago, my voice mail notification symbol in my status bar just showed up. I use Google voice and have not used the stock VM in years. But I listened to my VM through the stock app so that I could clear the notification. I listened several times and I have no new messages now, but the icon is still there and I have no idea how to clear it any help would be appreciated! It's really bugging me LOL
Thanks
I finally went in and force closed the phone app...and it went away.

Voicemail notification won't go away

I've had my MXPE for about a week now, and ever since I've activated it, I've had a constant voicemail notification that won't go away, and re-notifies me every couple hours. I'm on Sprint, and I've already contacted their customer support, they had me reprogram the phone, then do a factory reset and the notification was still there. So they told me to contact Motorola for support saying it must be a software issue, but Motorola said it wouldn't be software it would be with Sprint. I've waited a few days, but it's still there and I've missed important messages because I didn't know I was being left voicemail. Is there any fix for this, or should I just return the phone? I haven't seen anyone else complain about it, so I'm thinking it might just be my particular phone does have buggy software.
Edit: I've tried both leaving myself a message and clearing my phone app cache, that makes it go away for about an hour and then it comes right back.
Have you tried just deleting the 1 voice mail that is giving you problems? Maybe it is hung up in the system somehow.

I have no messages in my voicemail, and Sprint reset my services so I had to completely set the system up again.
That happened to me and it was a result I believe of Google Voice. I eventually had to sign up for visual voicemail through AT&T, log on, and the message was there. I had to delete it from visual voicemail and it deleted from my phone.

Was having the same issue too, on AT&T. I saw it right when I was transitioning from my backup S5 and then ignored it because it said it was coming from my Google Voice account. Kept getting stupid VM notifications for as long as I've had this phone and just came across this post. Never thought to check my AT&T voicemail, which is where their "welcome" voicemail was stored, no other messages, and deleted that sucker. Hopefully no more VM notifications pop up!

Rooted Galaxy S5 not displaying notifications

I first noticed this about two or three weeks ago when I realized that I wasn't being notified that my Ring doorbell (via the app) was detecting motion or anyone was pressing the doorbell. (For those unfamiliar with the product, it's a doorbell that notifies your phone/tablet that someone is either near the doorbell via motion sensors or has rang the doorbell). When I open the app I see the whole list of motions and doorbell presses that I would have expected, but no notifications are being added to the notification panel.
Similarly, I haven't been receiving notifications for new text messages. I've used Signal (not the stock messenger) and when I open that app it will show which messages are read vs. unread. Since then I've realized that very few notifications are displaying anymore. GMail seems to be the only one, but there was one or two instances where a notification would show in the lock screen, I'd unlock the phone, and the notification would disappear on it's own after a moment (I think this happened twice).
Notifications are definitely turned on for each of these apps (both in in-app settings and in the phone settings). I also have some apps installed to my SD card, but all of the one's I've mentioned are installed on the phone's memory. I'm running a rooted Verizon G900VVRU2BPB1.
Unfortunately, I discovered this problem rather slowly, in that it came up over the course of a few weeks and not "right after I installed X app", so if a specific app or setting is effecting this, then I'm not sure which it could be. I also rooted a few months ago, but I'm 99% sure this problem hasn't been going on THAT long.
