Changing radios - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have a NAND version of Android on my phone with 2.08 radio, and all of a sudden I am getting to robotic voice. I am told to switch to the 2.15 radio, but since I don't have winmo on the phone anymore I have no idea how to do this and have been searching for a while now. Can anyone help?

Boot to bootloader, connect to pc, when usb shows on multi-coloured screen run the CustomRUU that comes in the radio download.

Boot into the bootloader screen (with phone off, hold volume up and power button until tri-color screen appears) then plug in usb and run the radio ruu, same way as you would with windows.
Hope it helps!

thank you guys so much, I was messing around with that before but couldn't figure it out

Find Task29.exe with no radio. It's on this site somewhere. You will see some with radios attached to them, so don't use those. Just the plain old no radio version. It will wipe your phones internal memory and you will basically be starting from scratch. Nothing will be on your phone after a Task29. Then go into bootloader. How to enter boot loader after Task29- Once Task29 hits 96% (looks just like you are flashing a rom), hold volume down and power from 96% until it gets to 100% and the tri color bootloader screen pops up. It should say "USB" at the bottom after bootloader comes up if you are plugged into your computer. Then Flash MAGLDR 1.11 again. Then flash your NAND build.
You aren't bricked if you phone powers on.
What operating system is on your PC?
Well it does boot and if you have hspl you did a good job. So if you have magdlr you now need to install Android. Read a guide plzzz!

For task 29 do I have to have the phone connected via usb, because its not recognising it when its even in bootloader
task29.exe didnt work
Don't do task 29,you will just complicate your life even more than now. I don't think you know what you are doing.
You may brick your phone in the end do you have HSPL?

1st try entering the BOOTLOADER, by pressing the volume down power button simultaneously..!!!
Instead of TASK 29, try FLASHAHOLIC which will perform your TASK 29 & help you flash a WinMO 6.5 ROM as well..!!!
PS: - You can even flash custom ROM's, stock ROM's not compulsory..!!!

Well then re-install Active SYNC or try on a diff PC with Latest Active SYNC..!!!
If you can access your boot-loader your device ain't bricked..!!!
Just boot your phone with VolDown and enter USB mode, reflash MAGLDR 1.11, once this has completed reboot your phone and hold down the power button, you will then see the MAGLDR menu.
Then just follow instructions on how to install an nand rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
it might just be the magldr or NAND ROM not flashed properly. If you can get to Tri-Color bootloader you are fine.
Found out the problem, thanks for all of your help guys, it was the fact i didnt have hspl2 installed....newb points to me
I have exactly the same problem only difference with my problem is when hold vol down and power buttons all I get is the tri coloured screen and nothing else no bootloader menu appears at all.
What can I do? Is my phn dead???

That's exactly what is supposed to happen if you hold the vol down button while switching on. To get to the magldr menu you need to hold the power button in until it boots to the menu (no vol down button )
You guys are awesome!
I've been avoiding dealing with this phone for a while. This post came up first on google search. Held power and volume (mag 1.11 was on it) and upgraded it to 1.13 and now I'm golden! Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have 2.08HSPL on your phone?
Hold the volume key down while you turn on your phone, then you will see the tri-color screen. and the hardspl you have.
I suggest you follow this
Make your you have flashed HSPL 2.08.
it can be found easily using search option
after that boot it to tri-color screen.
( hold volume down key and boot your phone)
Sync your phone with pc using active sync
then down there on your phone screen will say USB
now find
"Task29 provided by doloop"
in the forum.
use that to flash everything from your phone.
after that it will automatically boot into white htc logo screen and not proceed
(due to there's nothing remaining.) just ignore it and
reset your phone while pressing volume down key to enter tri-color screen
now flash mgldr.
after that your phone will boot into mgldr
then follow the instructions on forum about nand builds
PS/If you are using XP you have to make your when usb flasher
it says wait usb...usb(connect via active sync) then uncheck "the allow usb connection" on active syncs connection settings. then proceed will rom installers
hope this will help.

Boy, you never read, do you!

Don't panic, take it easy...
MAGLDR requirements:
HSPL 2.08
RADIO that supports 576MB RAM
Milan Geek, I know I am going blind, but seriously?
YOU DON'T NEED SUCH BIG FONTS
This is what you need to do:
Unplug battery to turn device off
Put battery back in to device
Hold the Volume down button, do not let go
Press and release the power button to turn on the device
when you see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen, plug in your USB cable to phone and computer
Run HSPL3 and update to HSPL 2.08
When done, the phone will Reboot, when screen turns off, press and hold the Volume Down button, if you don't, you will have to remove battery, put it back, hold the volume button, then turn on the device again.
when you see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen again, make sure USB cable is connected to phone and computer install RADIO 2.15.50.14
Now MAGLDR will work.
If these instructions do not work,
MAIL IT TO ME, AND I WILL CLICK ON THANK YOU BUTTON

It's a simple process. If you are getting stuck at white screen the chances are you are not doing one of the first 2 steps as below.
FIRST: You have to install 2.08.HSPL (no other HSPL version and not an spl ending in .0000). Check in bootloader that you have 2.08.hspl NOT 2.08.0000.
SECOND: You have to install a 2.xx.50.xx radio (it has to be a .50 radio and not a .51 radio). Use 2.08.50.xx or higher .50 radio.
THIRD: Install magldr from bootloader by running the romupdateutility file.
I know. Please Believe I have 2.08.HSPL and 2.15.50.15 Radio installed several times without errors but same result.
Could be a HW problem? any other solution?

[Q] Cannot start bootloader, HD2 stuck on HTC logo screen

WM6.5 on my HD2 (from T-Mobile europe) has finally bothered me enough to decide to change the rom entirely, to android (NAND). I saw the instructions/video tutorial by techburrow (including the magldr v 1.11) and thought that it wouldn't give me too much troubles.
Before starting, I checked my ROM to see if it was recent enough. I as well installed hspl v 2.08 (as shown after taking battery out/in and using volume down + startbutton, in the rgbw screen).
After that I (think I) successfully installed MAGLDR v 1.11. It showed the comment that my phone was now "hacked".
I then went on to the most important step in the process, actually loading android. In the instructions for DFT_Android is states that:
" For installation you need enter MAGLDR (hold power button during boot)"
I tried getting into bootloader by holding the power button, I tried pressing it once and then holding it. Neither worked, both ended up with the HTC logo screen.
All I can do now is choose between getting the HTC logo and the rgbw screen showing hspl 2.08.
Hard reset also doesn't work, probably because MAGLDR deleted the original rom. Connecting through USB via the rgbw screen doesnt work, the connection is not recognised.
Other thread look similar problem, but haven't helped so far. Only the most recent are about others trying to get the android on NAND with MAGLDR 1.11 and DFT-Android.
HELP? Anybody has any idea on how I can install android any ROM now, how to get into the bootloader, how to use my HD2 again?
Looks like Magldr was not flash into the phone. Reflash magldr.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
unfortunately
Thx for the suggestion, xhanay. However, reflashing MAGLDR requires an activesync connection and/or USB connection via HSPL (only way my phone does anything). Cannot get any connection unfortunately. So no reflashing.
Any other suggestions? (reflashing via microSD?)
help!i have the really same problem!thx!
This is what I do:
1. Remove the battery, put it back
2. Hold VolDown key pressed while turn on the phone to enter Bootloader (tricolored screen)
3. Connect it to PC and wait for connection to change to USB
4. Flash radio 2.15.50.14
5. Hold VolDown key pressed after reboot to enter bootloader again.
6. Flash MAGLDR
7. Reboot
8. Hold Power button pressed > Select USB flasher ...
....and flash Android/Windows 7.
If USB connection is not recognized I suggest flashing a stock ROM using SD card.
See instructions here, chapter 3 - Flashing Via MicroSD Card
could just work
Thank you for the quick response. Hopefully I will make it all the way to step 8+ (with android and all apps coming along with it). Otherwise using the stock rom should help. Thx for the link.
Will let you know if it works.
Also post in the right section in the future
All worked. I had to reflash a custom ROM through the rgbw screen (apparently a custom ROM did synchronise via USB even though activesync didnt show anything). Then I reinstalled MAGLDR (which immediately sent me through to the bootlader screen). After I had some issues loading android (had to tag USB on in Activesync connection settings, make the connection, the tag USB off in the connection settings)... Now Android is running as I hoped it would. Great work and thanx to all that helped.
ps: Will try to use the right section next time. No promises that it will then be the right one however.
I have the same problem and tried this only to be sent back into magdlr where it just scrolls up and down with the volume key held down.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

What White screen Solution required for HD2 to run Windows 7?

Hello I have a new HD2 Telstra model.
I noticed the white screen is still a major issue and I have yet to solve it for my phone.
Flash memory size 512
OS 5.2.23152
Manila version 2.5.20191914.0
ROM kwbr WWE
Radio 2.07.51.22_2
My first question is why in Phone identity the phone shows as HTC HD2 T8585
It is definately a Telstra Model T9193 and I run on the Telstra 3G signal.
But here is the main issue / I cannot load "DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF"
I have "hspl 2.08" installed.
I instantly changed to "Kwbr_HD2_C3 ROM"
I can also load "Duttys_2.5_5.21916.5.0.95_3.14_HD2_ML_Family_ROM_(V12)_WWE"
So I have flashed it a few times.
When I apply "Task29 provided by doloop" it loads to only the HTC white screen and I have to remove the battery
--------------
Here is what I did, I did a Task 29 and then a hard re-boot.
From this point I can only load the 6.5 ROMS
If I try MAGLDR113 or MAGLDR112 it loads to 100% very fast/intant and then loads to HTC white screen and sticks
I have tried to hold down the right power key but that does nothing on the load.
It is the same after the Task 29
-------------------------------
Can someone walk me through the process to get the MAGLDR113 running?
Does it have to do with Flashing any Radio version?
If I wanted to load "LEO70_ROM" or "XBmod_LEO70_ROM_1.01" what do I have to do or get or delete?
Thanks Guys and Girls
well firstly your Radio is all wrong, you need to have a 2.14.50 radio
so read the forums to learn how to install that first. Make sure HSLP is installed
Then go for MAGLDR 1.12 install
Slap in a SD card you dont care about as it will get formatted
reboot phone and enter MAGLDR (do not have USB cable plugged in)
you want to install by usb mode, when its ready plug cable in, your PC may need to install a driver usually automatically
once thats all ready, run the installer of your choice and it should do the rest, important unplug the USB cable during boot or it will keep restarting.
but seriously, there are several video tutorials on here please read / watchj
everything because if you dont and you screw it up , its your own fault!
Ok thanks dude...
Just so I understand correctly what is a radio. It is the communication standard amongst the communication functions of the phone.
So is it correct that a rom will have to be compatable with the radio?
So why does a correct radio have an effect on a MAGLDR 1.12 install as it is not a standard ROM?
Also I have the standard memory card issued on the phone and I dont care if it gets wiped, is it a possibility of stopping the process if it has stuff on it?
The mystery for me is that MAGLDR 1.12 will not run and perhaps it is becasue the USB cord is still attached at the completion of the load. Everything leads to a white screen.
So will a Radio stop the MAGLDR 1.12 install?
Will a memory card stop a MAGLDR 1.12 install?
Will a USD 'still in' stop a MAGLDR 1.12 install?
Why is MAGLDR 1.12 needed when you already have a HSPL installed, I thought that was an installer?
Cheers
Peter
nope the radio shouldnt make a difference to magldr but you will need it to flash any WP7 ROM
Ok, first things first, Do you have the latest HSPL 3 installed?
next get the correct radio installed, it shouldn make a difference to magldr but its one less thing to worry about, ive always used the .50 Radios so perhaps that can make a difference yours being the .51 radio, either way get the correct Radio on it.
Ill gather you cant even install MAGLDR? so when you reboot as normal it goes straight to the OS load and not the 1..2..3..4 Go Go Go message?
If thats the case try this, turn off phone, hold vol down, then push power button, keep vol down pressed, you should see the RBG screen, connect your USb cable, (which version of windows are you using) windows 7 will install a new driver automatically that should allow you to run magldr by using the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
file
that will flash MAGLDR in much the same way as a new ROM
on reboot if you keep the USB cable plugged in it will keep restarting, unplug restart it, hold the power button down you will now have the various options to allow you to install and run various utilities, the one you want the one called USB flasher, use vol up /down to get there and hit the pickup phone button (one on left) to run it, once its ready you need to plug it in, try combos of plugged in then hit flasher and plug in after you hit flasher, cant remember which one works but one does but give windos a chance to install the driver.
once its in flashing mode and plugged in windows will install a driver, now your ready to run the ROM of your choice.

[Q] MAGDLR 1.13 installation problem and broken speakrer...

Hi,
I've been browsing this and other forums to cope without asking but it seems impossible.
When installing MAGDLR 1.13 I can't connect my phone to the computer. I have connection error 260. Switching ports didn't work. I'm running ROMUpdateUtility.exe as admin.
I have 2.08 hspl, radio 2.15.50.14 and nand android [DFT]LEO "Stock Desire" NAND Android ROM by Cotulla.
I wanted to change my present ROM for newer one with smaller battery consumption, but main reason is that my phone speaker is dead. It worked more and more silent and stopped finally. Sometimes when I blow in it hard it works again for few seconds but after that I have to turn on loud speaker again...I hope it's software issue somehow...
Thanks for any help!
Wait... why are you running the RUU if all you wanna do is flash a new ROM? An android one or WinMo? If its an Android one, go to MAGLDR and go to USB flasher then open the daf file on your PC. Make sure you have "Allow USB connections" unticked in ActiveSync.
I don't think the speaker is a software problem also. Its probably just ran its course now and blown.

an android one, but as I understand/read they all need MAGDLR 1.13 that's why I want to install it. ActiveSync on phone or PC? SOry for that question but I'm not the smartest when it comes to this stuff. As I know I don't have ActiveSync on Vista.
Thanks for fast reply
Hold the power button, if all goes well, you Magldr the menu, go to option five (with the volume control keys, select option do you pick the''send'') put the USB cable into your phone, Start the daf, Have fun!
I'll try that and let you know how it went
thx
Same problem
