This is about as high a score as I get. I'm running the new EB01 ROM with CPU set to performance and 1ghz. Anyone else getting these scores?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

Im only getting 1550ish with the new EB01 voodoo kernel. =/ That score you have is about what I get without voodoo on 2.2.

yeah im getting around 1500 with voodoo 2.2. I used to get over 2000 with 2.1 voodoo. Not sure what this is all about.

Quadrant standard is overrated unless you just like those pretty numbers.

Considering a actual voodoo kernel (not leak) has yet to be released, that is expected. 1Ghz is just the normal max speed for the fascinate, so nothing surprising there.

I got 966 on my first try

The phone runs fells like it's running faster and smoother to me than it did on 2.1 with a custom kernel. Quadrant score is lower though, so does that mean my phone is slower? No. Quadrant is just a test, its results mean absolutely nothing in terms of actual performance. If it did, that'd mean that Snapdragons are the superior CPU/GPU combo, when we all know that the Hummingbird is the most advanced chip in a phone outside of the Tegra 2.

Bragging rights..what else.

I dont care what they mean. I was just showing what I got.

Im getting about 1600 on eb01 on voodoo kernel without i get in the 900s but it may be because the voodoo kernel by jt is still in testing stage and he may not have it just right yet but knowing how good he is i am sure he will have it perfect soon.

I scored just over 1000 on EB01 non-voodoo but it really doesn't mean squat! I dunno why it doesn't score higher cause it fly's the way it is now... I mess with a friends Dinc all the time and I can see a huge difference in "Real World" use!

It means nothing.

Hahaha... Too funny

Benchmarking is good for 2 things, and ONLY 2 things:
1. Comparing a device to itself with different configurations to determine performance increases (like JIT vs non-JIT, voodoo vs non-voodo, etc).
2. Comparing one device to another with the same software configuration to determine build quality, find a hardware fault, etc (i.e. 2 identical SGS phones with identical software configuration, but one scores 1,500, and the other scores 600).
Other than that, benchmarks are nothing but pissing contests where one or both participants could be aiming into the wind at any given time (no matter the situation, someone ends up all wet).

Think I found an answer for you.

same problem on my evo.... summary = newest version of quadrant is to blame.

I was getting damn near 1600 on Jt's aosp 2.2 w/o voodoo but meh

yeah i get like 943. The quandrant scores don't lie: 2.2 has slowed our phones down immensely.

Can someone explain why Quadrant is bs? I saw a thread talking about it really doesn't "work" the phone. If that's the cade I can understand that. But isn't it a way to compare android phones? An equal set of standards and each phone
is ranked how it meets these standards. Or Is it all made up?

Quadrant scores are a reference
Quadrant scores are just a benchmarking tools and should only be used as a reference, just like a Photo snapshot. It is not an end all too prove you have a fast or fastest setup, but IT does provide a general view of how your phone is performing.
Remember....... the slowest thing in the hardware or software is what will govern performance. an example of this would be in a desktop computer.... you get a super fast I-7 chip or maybe a SUN chip with 64 cpus. Great !! but you have this 8 yr old hard drive and Win 98.........that chip is useless . This is why some of the developers strive to build a efficient bug free rom that performs the same in or with all things loaded into the phone. And the developers here do a super job of building a variety of excellent performing roms.
Agreed they really do !!!

Stock Quadrant Score with 2.2?

Hello ladies and gents of the Vibrant forum. I'm a G2 user thinking about returning his G2 tomorrow for a Vibrant. What is the Vibrant stock Quadrant score with the OTA 2.2 update? Already tried search.
The OTA was not 2.2, it was an update to 2.1.

Oh.
Nevermind then.
Hmmm
There's no 2.2 update yet... sorry
Are you guys serious?! Eugene released a stable 2.2 ROM this morning!
With just a stock 2.2 flash youre looking @ 980 on quad & 14.xx @ 5.9 sec on linpack.
As always though... Benchmarks dont mean jack! From personal experience this phone is awesome! If I stopped flashing it so damn much I'd be able to get 20+ hours on the battery too!
I believe the 'stable' rom you're referring to has broken GPS still.
Also, I think the op thought that the recent update was an official stock 2.2...
Anyway, the quadrant score is around 819 stock but with different mods, a good stable score is around 1600

I think what the OP wanted was a 2.2 vibrant score w/ JIT enabled... eugenes ROM has it.
Stable means usable & will not die or cause nuclear war. Perfect ROM? No... Only working 2.2 ROM working (minus GPS & a few other things not working) on the vibrant, yes.
exactly what does stability & usability have to with a mathematical bench mark test? are you referring to hacks & mods vs. hard code? Stability wise? # wise??
I just got 1903 after using the z4mod (ext2) on JI6:

I'm sorry, I don't like when people put benchmarks down. I happen to believe that some of the benchmarks, including Quadrant Professional are accurate and reflective of real performance. Then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

exactly what i was about to say. who cares about 2.2 when you can flash a bionix rom and hit up to 2600 on quadrant. not that quadrant really means anything more than a benchmark.
I think OP is looking for a official froyo 2.2 rom...Sorry OP, no official froyo, but there is a ported version eugene has done.
Although this is a "froyo", no one is sure if this can be an accurate representation of how our vibrants will run when we get the official OTA, but if you want "froyo" now, by all means go ahead and flash it. Its still missing a few kinks and has bugs.

Quadrant score on vibrant with 2.3

just wanted to share my results with i9000 2.3 ROM on My Vibrant

also note high I/O because i have voodoo lagfix

But how does the Scorpion score on 2.3?
This is excellent news, means the Dalvik Jit compiler is finally optimized to give the Hummingbird a performance boost.
But, what if this excitment is pre-mature? I want to see the nexus ONE(scorpion phone) running 2.3, what if 2.3 on a scorpion boosts their performance even more than it already did on 2.2!
Lets compare 2.3 vibrant to 2.3 scorpion, then we will know!

Also Quadrant doesn't test MFLOPS... linpack does
The purpose of my post to show the galaxy S phones take advantage of JIT just like the NS..even though we pretty much knew this

No, this is supercurio's rom. He's simply showing the performance results of it. There is no fully functional Gingerbread rom for SGS phones yet. However, if supercurio continues at this pace, it may not be much longer

I don't know the reasoning behind it, but from what lots of others have said, Quadrant scores are totally irrelevant. I can only assume it's because we're using ported software, rather than something that was built specifically for our devices. That's my guess anyway.

Not totally irrelevant, but sometimes close to it. Quadrant standard is useless, pro is a little better.
The problem with Quadrant is:
1) Disk IO test, if you try some of the builds with very high score you'll see it's coming from IO, you can just mount that one part that Quadrant use in RAM, get crazy high score, but that won't speed up any other apps/system as you still use your NAND/SD card
2) Video speed, as on early Darkstone builds video score was very low as that build had something turned off (because with it's ON there were other bugs), but all apps were using some other API for video, so only Quadrant was slow on it
3) Quadrant tests doesn't show real system performance, so higher score might have no increase in speed in other apps. For example you can put newest CPU on your PC, but having only 256mb RAM would make everything slow, no matter how fast your CPU is, but CPU score would be higher
This doesn't mean that Quadrant is bad, in my opinion if you're using pro version and you get some component score (for example CPU score) higher on one build then on other - that's good. If you get total score higher, build might be actually slower then other build with low score.
this is the old 1.32... at 1200mhz cedes sd build.
with the new 1.72... dhd base i get max 5000 cpu points and approx 5000 I/O points with data on ext4 partition. that makes 2400 overall quadrant points. at 998 mhz. but if i put all data to nand the I/O points are 1250, but the device feels faster and boots faster. for now i only put app folder on the ext4 partition, dalvik and data remain on internal memory. i am still testing whats the best combo, it takes lot of time

Phones ARE computers these days. Fast computers rock. Why do you make the comparison to a laptop and state that a "phone" is anything less. Phone is just a word to describe the original function of these micro-devices. They are 1% phone and 99% other-than-phone. Broaden your horizon(s).

These scores do have a meaning to the people who run the tests. I mean, that's like asking, "why do you race your car at the drag strip?" Easy! To see how my car ranks against others. I can see how my mods affects my car(or in this case, smartphone)'s performance. It doesn't matter if it's noticeable to the user.

Not surprising when you see the real world performance of 2.1 vs 2.2 on the Epic. 2.1 was smoother, faster and all around more stable. Don't believe me? One simple test, pull down the notification bar on 2.1 and 2.2. When compared, you see that on 2.2 it is super choppy in comparison to the perfect smoothness of 2.1. I hate to say this...
