3G problem (again) on android using Cyanogen MOD / Gingerbread android - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi!
I'm having trouble with my 3G network, well basically I don't have any, and I can't figure out why. I looked at other posts tried it and didn't really help.
Here's my phone info:
Mod Version: MDJ's CyanogenMod7(v.2.6)A2SD+
Build Number : GRH78C
My baseband Version is : 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
I'm a super noob when it comes to technology, someone helped my flash my old Windows OS 6.5 into android, the 3G was working ok last night, but today for some reason, it's not working anymore
Can any one help me? I'd really really really appreciate it : )

could it be anything to do with the radio im using?
Can anyone please help?

[Q] Does Robo Voice go away with a NAND build?

I have been using the superram version and it works most of the times just fine. However once I get robovoice, it is horribly annoying and time consuming to make it go away.
So if I take the plunge and go to a NAND version, will robo voice go away forever?! I have still not found an answer for why it happens in the first place. Talk techie to me, what is going on?

no, also experienced robo voice with nand builds... but i dont think its a big deal since it goes away with loudspeak+hangup method
Well the problem is for some reason the loudspeaker+hangup method freezes my phone process. So it doesnt solve the problem for me.
What radio version are you running and what carrier are you on?
Its a radio related issue. I'm on T-Mobile US using radio 2.15.50.14 and I NEVER have the robot voice.
BTW - I'm using TopiaHD NAND
EDIT -
Judging by the info in your other thread, you're on T-Mobile US (per the radio version).
Check out the TopiaHD NAND build. I'm running it and it has been flawless.
I have one of the first Telstra T9193's (Australia GSM) that I had shipped to the states and is now working on AT&T. Did this to make sure I got the 850Mhz 3G band and it works great.
Radio version is 2.15.50.14
And the calls work sometimes, sometimes not. But they work 100% in windows mobile. My base WM ROM is *not* the stock Telstra ROM, and I have tried booting android manually and with the bootloader with the same results.
Full System Details:
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15-g2ef5742-dirty [email protected] #10
Mod Version: darkstone SuperRAM Froyo v1.5 (based on adamg Oxygen-1.0.2)
Build Number: FRG83
A radio version issue seems likely, but so many people report success with this radio. Also I have awesome signal coverage, average battery life, and super fast data speeds. If I didn't have robo voice there would be no way to tell this wasnt a native droid phone.

LeeDorid does a Non-sense version?? Ooh, I missed that... *runs off to find patch*
I personally would go with CM. You've had experience and in my opinion it can't be beaten (for an AOSP ROM).
Aaah I somehow missed the non-sense bit
Thanks for all the help guys - i have downloaded "CyanogenMod - 7.0.3-DesireHD" and will be flashing this weekend, their wiki says i should flash a new radio (26.04.02.17 or newer radio), whats the general consesus on this - as with WinMo it was always dont do it if you dont need to.

If you have a radio lower than 26.04.02.17 then at least go to that one.
If you have no problems with your battery life, network / wifi / GPS signals then stick with it (26.04.02.17) but the newer radio's do seem to be showing positive results - Longer battery life, better network / Wi-Fi signal, faster GPS Lock.
There's no harm in trying (and with Radio S-OFF you can change them randomly)...
Unless you botch it and brick your phone...

if so how do i tell which radios are new?

Problem with wifi

Hi
I have a rooted HTC HD2 that runs Cyanogen 7-05252011 Typhoon v3.3.3 ...and the problems are 2..
1.Some wifi modems the phone cant see not lot but there is one at EVEREST restorant for example tha cant see...
2. If i close the phone when i open it and make a call the others voice sounds like robot...the solution is to call a regular number and not a 4digit...but some time what ever i call it does not fix....
Is there somthing tha i can do to fix them???
Update your ROM and see if that helps. You are running a VERY early version and the dev has updated his build many times since your current version

What is your ROM version? It may be ROM problem, may even be common in your ROM. Check your ROM development thread if somebody else reported this kind of problem, if he did there is probably a solution there.
Thank you for respond
This is all info.
AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.2
And no one thread this
As i searched ROM dev thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18900146&highlight=3g#post18900146) you can see that there was several problems with 3G. What helped is apparently returning to factory settings. What you can try is to perform factory reset by phone settings or hard reset, but with second one you'll loose all data. If you had system data backup, dont use it after reset.
My original phone is HTC HD2 Windows phone 6.5. I switched my phone to Android 2.3.7 and I cannot do a system restore or hard reset because it will return to windows phone.
My issue with 3G on ANDROID NOW.
thx
Nah. Your ROM is NAND rom, which means it is installed on internal memory of phone and WinMo 6.5 was ereased completely and it won't return. Hard reset will wipe data of current system. If You're using MAGLDR all you need to do is perform Hard Reset with it. I dont know how about CLK, im a MAGLDR user If that won't work, i'd suggest clean install.

Well if youre using CLK then it most likely is that . and if you arent very good with android or setting things up i suggest you switch to MAGLDR . if you shut down your phone then reboot , and you see "GO GO GO" youre on magldr . if not , youre on CLK . also , which kernel are you using ? the stock one ? i recommend fikret's or seadersn kernels for stability .
I am using CLK and I can go all over the setting but nothing working?
The Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15.
My issue is only no 3G and some time there is?

I installed the Android on the SD. It is not on the internal I am sure.
Are you using NAND? is stable and 3G working?

[Q]Its been a while since I've touched my HD2...

Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've last touched an HD2 (over 2 years to be exact).
But yeah, here's the situation at hand.
My sister recently bought a new phone, and with her HD2 just lying around, I thought it would be pretty cool to put ICS on it.
The problem is, I have not touched her phone since I last rooted it, and I have slept...a lot...since then.
I wanted to flash it to this one: NIGHTLY][Full HWA] CyanogenMod 9 [4.0.4][Kernel: cmhtcleo/tytung]
However I have no idea where to start...well asides from downloading the files...
I tried searching around, but I am pretty sure I am not searching correctly.
Anyways, the phone is the US version (PB81120) and currently has SPL-2.08.HSPL
eMAGLDR v1.11 is what is currently being used to boot the NAND.
Uhhh...am I missing anything?
I forget which version I installed for her, but here's the run down on the software information
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband version: 15.42.50.11u_2.15.50.14
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15-g66f6ed7-dirty
[email protected] #2
Build number: 2.29.405.5 CL293415 release-keys
Software number: 2.29.405.5
Browser version: Webkit 3.1
So yeah, if someone could point me in the right direction....I would really appreciat it.
Thanks and sorry for asking such a nooby question >_<
Get the hd2 toolkit and have a read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
Don't forget to thank the OP for this excellent guide.
Just follow this guide. You have to upgrade to MAGLDR 1.13. Also, that ROM is a nightly and is therefore likely to be unstable, perhaps NexusHD2 or IceCreamTosti or even ParanoidAndroid would do better. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that ROM or anything and I'm sure it's great but I would question its reliability. T-Mac's guide to everything which shanman linked is great, it helped me out a lot at the start.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the quick response and help! =)
