Guys
I installed CM 7 successfully on my SGS using instructions here
http://www.galaxyroot.com/rom-cyanogenmod-7-for-galaxy-s-non-official/
It installed perfectly but i m not having signal. So i flashed back original JPY using ODin but phone is stuck on galaxy logo. Please advice on how to revert to original ROM?
Thanks
Try downloading a stock firmware that has 3 files and tick repartition. Then flash jpy.

Go all the way back to JM8 to be safe. Maybe re-partition too, 512 PIT should be the right one to use but double check what samfirmware.com says.
Then flash whatever ROM you want.

Download jpjpa from http://www.emoiz.com/download-stock-firmwares-for-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000
install it with 512 pit file then flash xxjpy without ticking repartetion option
xxjpy is just a update for working firmware
Stock JPU should work fine as well..

Looking for the j16 modem to put on JFD. Searched forums but no dice. Wanna keep JFD incase of OTA update.
THANKS!
What's the difference between the JI5 and JI6 modem? I haven't been able to find it so far. I'm getting horrible battery life from JI5 and want to upgrade to JI6 stock if possible or go back to stock w/out losing everything.

No such thing. I've attached the J I 6 modem for you though...
I just extracted it from the JI6 update and zipped it up by itself.

How do we install this?
I tried installing through clockwork recovery. It always hangs at the installing portion and I have to pull the battery after waiting 20 minutes.

Flash via ODIN. If you're not comfortable / able to do that then perhaps someone will make a flashable clockwork package for you instead.
Will this wipe my Rom and data? I'm kinda tired of constantly restoring all my apps, notifications, and getting my vibe back to my set up.

Then don't flash things. Or make a proper backup.
Clockwork offers the ability to restore only the /data portion of a backup that you've made & Titanium Backup allows you to backup/restore all your app/data. Two valid options that will only add 5 minutes to your install time.
I don't see why you should be complaining if you're not making a backup and restoring it.

I wasn't complaining, just asking. I was using bionix 1.2, 1.3 then jumped up to 1.4 quickly. I am making back ups, i'm asking that if i install ji6,will i have reflash my rom and re install my apps, or can I just flash my back up thru clock and still have ji6.
Ps does this work and what are the benefits.

Thanks for this! I would love it if someone could package a JI6 Clockwork flash. I am not comfortable with Odin. Mainly from the horror stories of not just noobs but some with some experience flashing complete roms.
The first thing I did when rooted and got OCLF, GPS fix and clockwork was to do full Titanium backups and a Nandriod and an original stock Rom. I have backups and have had to use 'em.
But for some reason I don't want to take the Odin plunge yet. I do not have a firmware lock out Vibrant.
Care to talk me into it? With Samsung and Tmobile's slow responses, I might be getting all my updates here soon. Hell to date, I have!
It's not a ROM. It's not a kernel. It's a baseband update. It doesn't wipe any data, just upgrades your baseband version. Your current baseband version can be found in Settings -> About Phone -> Baseband version.
+1 for a clockwork mod installable zip file! I really don't like Odin.

From what I understand you ALWAYS want to disable Voodoo when flashing anything. It's also so easy to do it's worth it just in case.
I'm still wondering if you put the zip in the "phone" section or the "PDA" section? Do you also need the 512 pit file? Anyone?
Thanks alot. Your awesome

Yes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I go into download mode, turn on odin, then transfer like 3 files and then from there I have no idea what to do. Do I restart the phone, reboot into recovery, or what?

Do not plug your phone into the computer before you open ODIN.
1. Open ODIN and select the .pit and .jar files
2. Plug your phone into the computer via usb cable. You should see the COM port turn yellow in ODIN.
3. Click the start button in ODIN
4. The phone will do the rest
5. Just wait until all is finished and the phone starts

Yes it's a program for the PC. I use Odin3 v 1.70 found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821625
Another important note I forgot to mention:
If you use this T959UVJFD.tar file you don't need to uncheck re-partition
If you use any other official firmware T959UVJI6.tar or T959UVJK6.tar for example then you have to un-check re-partition.
I always use T959UVJFD.tar before I flash anything else so I can re-partition but that's just a personal preference.
Don't worry, it's pretty hard to brick the phone.
And once you understand odin he's very agreeable

You sir are correct. ODIN isn't hard at all and actually I'd prefer using it to flash all of my ROMS. I even made a 301k resistor jig so I can get into download mode without the octopus technique. Plug and Play baby....
Where do I find the JI6 pit and tar files for odin?
I'm running Axura 2.0.5. However, I want to try one of the new JK6 ROMS.
I would like to use ODIN to go back to JI6 first. Where do I find the proper JI6 tar and pit files????
thanks!

T959UVJI6.tar is the last official release from Samsung/t-mobile. If you use that you should have no problem. When I got my phone it had T959UVJFD.tar on it. This version is the oldest.
T959UVJK6.tar isn't an official release.
flash jfd... the ji6 tar file is missing dbdata.rfs
just some words of advice. I just used the JI6 tar file, and pit to ODIN my phone back to stock. Odin completed its job, phone rebooted, saw the white vibrant logo, then it went into recovery and gave me some read error message. Something about a "data" file missing.
did a google search, seems like the JI6 tar file is missing the dbdata.rfs file.
Another forum suggested using ODIN again but this time use the JFD tar file, which has the appropriate dbdata.rfs. Sure enough my phone is back to stock JFD now.
Don't know why, who ever uploaded that JI6 tar file, why didn't they include the dbdata.rfs?
anyways, I might be wrong, but thats what just happend to me, and found the solutino doing a google search. i'm all good now.
Hello all. I am a happy galaxy user. Yesterday i downloaded the unofficial samsung 2.2.1 release xxjpu. I soon find out that the market was not working, so i thought ill go back to the official 2.2 (JPA). I downloaded this from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913 . I flashed the rom with the included Odin (1.0) en included pit file 513. I also downloaded the CSC file for my region (Netherlands). After the flash was succesful in Odin i rebooted the device. After the samsung boot screen the device vibrates, but the screen stays black. I booted to recovery and formatted the internal sd card and did a hardreset. Still the device vibrates a few times and stays black. How can i get my device back to the official 2.2 now? Am i forgetting something or did i do something wrong? thanks in advance.
Have you tried getting a different pit and firmware from samfirmware?

Hi , yes. I flashed yesterday JM8 , after this i flashed JPA with another pit (512 instead of 513) . Got the device back now , working perfect. Thanks for the tip. I also made a mistake marking re-partition while flashing JPA. I only needed to do this for the JM8 .

i was running rooted EB13... was having some random issues pop up and decided to wait for EC05 to push out so i went back to DI18 using odin. however i did not use the pit file. everything SEEMS find but i'm wondering wtf the pit file even does?
I think the .pit file tells Odin where everything goes. I think it's unnecessary for some rom images, which have it built in.
(I may be wrong, though)

I have tried everything to unroot and go back to stock and no matter what I flash or odin and restored my nandroid I still have MF9 under software version and baseband version. My WiFi is broke and I cant for the life of me just get back to MDC or MDL. My Kernel will change and my Build number just not the other things. So right now I have Software Version MF9, Baseband MF9 Kernel 3.4.0-529760 [email protected] #1 Sat Apr 27 18:12:21 KST 2013 and my Build is MDL. I don't care about wiping everything I just want to get back to MDC or MDL. I tried QBKING77 Unroot/Unbrick method also. IDk what to do, this MF9 is locked down.
Find a stock sprint rom from before the MF9 update and flash. Do NOT install the update afterwards- just know that the "update installed tap to download" will not go away unless you switch to a new rom. I might still have the pre MF9 file you can flash with Odin. You WILL be complete fresh out of the box. You will NOT be rooted. You WILL have to call the reactivate number (##72786#). You may actually be able to get it fixed with just the number. Let me dig for a few and if I find it I'll post it for you.

What I read is that MF9 is NAND locked, meaning that once you've updated you can't go back. I could be wrong, but it sounds like that's what you're running into if even Odin doesn't work.
