Internal storage is broken? - Focus General

I'm very disappointed After two+ month of Focus usage, it was broke yesterday... Handset was not damaged or broken or overheat or frozen, nothing at all! Works perfect as well before (yesterday I've used this handset for development). It's just happened, at night time (and phone was not connected!)
The symptoms are: first I've found there is no picture on "Pictures", and Outlook calendar doesn't display any events. Second, the downloaded apps icons are disappear.
I suspected my SD card (8 Gb class 4 from Kingston) but seems like card is innocent. I've tried to make a hard reset of damn thing, tested all 3 possible methods but NOTHING helps! It's ridiculous, I never suspect it's possible in the modern world (it is XXI century, guys!)
After reset from "Settings->About" the handset imitate a "reset" but "About" shows total storage 15 Mb (!), 10 Mb available.
Why it just imitate reset? I can tell... After this pseudo-reset, I've removed SD card, and did hard reset using 3 buttons method (seems like damn M$ like 3 buttons stuff). Phone asked me twice (another M$ bull****) "Am I sure to format damn thing", I've said "Yes" (pressed "win" button twice), and after few seconds (it's not enough to format 8 Gb internal flash and restore firmware) it says "Done!" and reboot.
After reboot the "formatted" and "factory restored" phone displays all "formatted" contacts, applications, mail records etc...
"Settings"->"About" now displays total storage: 7.38 Gb, available 5.39
Also tried hard reset from "Diagnosis", same sh... thing.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: Just called ATT for replacement. Will hope the new handset will pick-up my old SD card... Or I need to reformat it (using Nokia S60) first? Anyone have experience?

You had a typical sympton of SD card acting up. Nothing new there. I personally will not use ANY SD card at present. None of them are safe.
But I failed to see what's problem after you formated your phone. You will never see full 8GB of the storage. It is about 6.xxGB or so free after a fresh format without downloading any contacts or mails. Your numbers seems alright.

That could be also because not many ppl had the Samsung 16GB. They are not readily available to purchase.
A lot of ppl only encounter problems after couple months of flawless usage. And one day, it failed for no reason.
I think there is something wrong either in the hardware of Focus or Windows Phone 7 itself because Focus is the only phone had so much problem with microSD cards. I didn't read ppl who had their HD7 internal SD card replaced had any problem like Focus.
We also didn't see a single card being officially listed as compatible or certified for WP7. Something isn't right and Microsoft is not telling us why.
I'd strongly recommend against using any microSD card in Focus. Not until either MS or Samsung published their findings or recommendations.

The real problem is: the handset internal storage was not formatted at all! I've tried to do hard reset with or without SD card - same shi.. result Most annoying thing is these stupid utilities reported "Done!", "OK" as fools but nothing is done (it means the software quality - programs didn't check the results!)
From my experience (as a developer) looks like the internal storage (nand?) is damaged and unstable. A few minutes after cold boot it working; I can run some apps etc. But after few minutes it become unstable. Apps show an exceptions on isolated storage file etc.
I'm very disappointed; didn't expect that "surprise" from Samsung and MS...
P.S. My "old" developers Samsung Taylor (what I received and worked since August 2010) still alive and works fine

I saw reports, as well as personally experience, that it takes a few tries to format the phone correctly. Samsung quality is nothing to write home about (I have so many Samsung hardware that half of them does not work right out of box). But I suspect this is also a Microsoft issue.
I doubt your internal storage is damaged. Keep doing the 3-button reformatting until it is probably done. You will know it is formatted when it reboots and asks for your Live ID.

Hmm... Very strange advice. Tell me please what are you doing (for example) if your car engine doesn't start? Keep trying to turn engine on after slamming car doors and kicking the wheels? Or you just call mechanic?
Who tell you "I finally reset WP7 after 142 tries"? Any prooflink? Or you just guessing?

I personally have to format two or three times when my SD card crapped out. Just a suggestion. It is common on all Focus when SD card craps out.
You will have to switch to a different brand to avoid this issue then. Besides, warranty replacement gives you refurb phones only. Do you really want to return yours (which has a normal case of can't format the phone like every other Focus does) in exchange for a used one returned for other reasons by someone else.
But again, that's your choice.
As for your car analogy, save it for yourself. If Samsung is a car company, I won't ever buy a car from them. Simple as that.

Of course I've tried many times but have no luck at all. Seems like internal storage is damaged or it's a huge software bug (MS or Samsung).
Who's telling you about "refurb phones only"? I've spoken with AT&T rep and he told me it will be a brand new phone, not a refurb.
About Samsung quality: are you one from Samsung haters? I do have a Samsung Galaxy Tab, a few Android handsets (at office, development phones), Samsung TV, landline phone from Samsung - quality is PERFECT, never had any issue...
P.S. Or you just trolling me?

The only times you will get brand new ones are:
1. You're within 30 days of purchase and you exchange at the place of your purchase
2. AT&T warranty runs out of refurbed phones.
It is a standard practice for all AT&T warranty replacements to be refurb phones. I personally done twice in the past 10 years of with AT&T.

Because I can't help it Same can be said with the Samsung Captivate I bought. I knew what I'm going to get into. But I still did it and now stuck with a phone that GPS never really works (but fortunate enough to not have the second critical issue, random shutdown). Basically, all Captivate produced from July to Nov 2010 are suspect to this randon shutdown hardware defects.

AHH NO! 2nd memory card gone

Ok, so when i first got the TD2 i bought a 16gb mem with it, but about 2 weeks in, it just wiped my memory card and made it useless, trying it on the computer, on the phone, even in a camera brought nothing up. I was hoping it was the memory card faulty. So i bought a new 16gb and it's gone and done it again. Just randomly, whilst using coreplayer to watch some blue, my phone froze. so i did a soft reset and now my mem card has disappeared. all my apps saved it it have gone, all my pics...just everything
what the hell is going on?
I use spb shell, luckily that was saved to my phone so i stil have it, but half the apps on it don't work now
I installed Advanced Config 3.3 and turned on SD-card powermanagement... shortly after that I lost one 8GB sandisk card ... Diamond2 could not see it anymore. My PC could not see it anymore.... Maybe it was the Advanced Config setting that somehow broke it or maybe it was coincidence?? ****ty thing is I didn't make a backup so lost a lot of nice pictures on it...
If you use activesync, you would need to configure WM device center to NOT replace items on the device. Switch that to replace items on desktop.
If its not that, then maybe shell is the culprit. Or advanced config.

Nope, it's not just deleted data. In my case the SD-card is really broken. I cannot open it in any device anymore.
I had this problem with my Xperia twice, and I'm far from convinced that the TD2 is any more stable.
I haven't tracked down what is causing it, but I have never had any problems with SD cards in all my years with PalmOS or Symbian devices. I think it is just a 'feature' of Windows Mobile because the system is unstable and prone to crashes which corrupt the cards.

Well corruption can usually be repared by a format or something like that but in my case the card isn't even recognized by the system anymore, it just won't show up.'

Really? Talk about 'give a dog a bad name'. If you knew a little more you'd soon realise it has zip zero and sweet buggerall to do with WM, which is stable, flexible and reliable, though the UI is admittedly rather dated, and everything to do with HTC's implementation.

Yep twice with me as well
once with normal TF3D and once with SPB shell
Just totally broken my card...tried using 2 usb readers and 2 computers with it...nothing
tried putting it into an sd card converter and putting into 2 cameras...nothing
Be warned people!
Back up your stuff! TD2 looks like it enjoys corrupting micro sd cards and making you pay for more
perhaps HTC has a contract with Sandisk or something
Keeps sandisk bringing in profits in this troubled time of recession

Our opinions differ it seems, but unless someone finds the actual cause we will never know the truth.
My apologies for not knowing much - I am trying to learn WM after many years on other platforms. All I have to go on is my personal experiences with 4 WM devices (all originating from HTC), and those experiences are not great. WM has a bad name in my eyes, from direct personal experience. Maybe I am maligning it falsely if the true cause of the problems I experience lies elsewhere...I am willing to have an open mind.
I am several £££ out of pocket, having lost 2 16GB cards to these devices - a problem I have only ever suffered with HTC/WM. Given that HTC is the leading manufacturer of WM devices it does not reflect well on either them or the OS platform they are working with that they cannot create stable bug-free systems.
Are these genuine memory sticks?
I work in repairs and I have had a number of HTC devices along with others too that have had this issue.
It turned out that on average, 7/10 devices had fake memory sticks from reputable vendors who were duped.
1/10 were corrupt memory cards just from use/standard wear and tear or just corrupt out of factory.
and the last 1/10 was a faulty memory card reader on the device -
I had an original SANDISK 8GB micro-SD card in it. I now have a 6GB in it which still is OK for now... But backups will be made. I am going to get me another 8GB card and possible trade in the broken one (warranty)... these things should not brake this soon.. the card was 3 weeks old!! If the second one also breaks than maybe it's a D2 problem??
edit: I have to notice that it broke down I did turn on the SD-card powermanagement save option from Advanced Config.... maybe that's the cause??
I've had my 16gb card in the phone since April 15th when I got my unit...not one issue touch wood so touch its the phone ... if anything, it might be your specific unit but I would still bet on the card itself
As an example, I got a 32GB USB stick from Kingston - so not exactly a small make
Within a week, I lost 31.8GB and was left with 2mb.
Data has gone and is not retrievable. Kingston have now tested and diagnoised the memory is corrupt and unfixable so they are replacing it.
So it can happen
An advice: Whenever you do a operation such as backup or something, do not charge your phone!! That really hurt your SD card....

what do you mean? Like no charge when on activesync? I can't see
why that would hurt the card.
Did you guys format your mem cards before using them?
I have a stack of SanDisk MicroSD cards (256mb, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb hc, 8gb hc and 16Gb hc). My 16Gb and 4GB cards both had faults (the 16gb one wouldn't format and the 4gb one just didn't work and wasn't even recognised as being in my phone or card reader).
SanDisk have a 5 year warranty, so I registered all of my cards on their website, reported the fault and had them replaced. The whole process took about 4 weeks, but they sent me brand new 16gb and 4gb cards.
Sometimes flash media just fails...
maybe you all should get transcend.. they give you lifetime warranty...
Yep, but I lost my reciept ... and I need that to trade in.. But yesterday a bought a new one... maybe I use the new reciept to trade in the old.. cards are the same size en look the same.. so i'll probably get away with that.
Me too - lost the 8 GB card in my TD2 last week, it's completely unreadable now, can't be formatted, etc. Never happened to me before. Hope this isn't s.th. serious with the TD2...

Focus resets itself on powerup

I travel quite often so I have to power my phone off and on frequently. Today when I landed in the Philippines and powered my phone on the phone reset itself with what appears to be a hard reset. Everything is new. I have to reconfigure my email and such. All of my photos are gone etc. When I re synched over the air with Windows live, My contacts returned as expected, but then I had to turn off my phone for the next flight and the phone reset itself the next time it was powered on. I seems that every time I power the phone back on it is hard resetting? Any ideas? This is a huge pain obviously and I am really mad about losing my text messages and saved photos, not to mention the pain of re applying apps and such.
FYI, I have no MicroSD in the drive.
i got the same with my samsung focus idk whats with that. but you applied that you dont have a sd card an i have a 8gb sd in mines and they said thats probably why mines reset but i believe the update that came out yesterday should help with the stabiliby of the software.
Official Update left microsoft: March 24, 2011
(NO OFFICIAL DATE YET ON WHEN INDIVUAL PHONE COMPANIES WILL SEND THEM OUT)
What I had originally thought was a problem only on powerup now seems to be a general memory problem. The phone now no longer maintains call logs and will not completely sync claiming it does not have enough memory. Error Code: 80070070. It wants me to free up memory by deleting items which it deleted itself on powerup.
I also cannot sync to Zune anymore to reload any apps or such. Very strange. Unfortunately I think that this will end up being exchanged at att wireless which will probably result in my being given a refurb. I LOVE my Focus. It has been hard to watch it die over the last week.

There are 3 different ways to hard reset/format the phone. Try all of them until you see the all 8GB back. I know I have to format 2 or 3 times when mine suffered the exact same problem (I blame the microSD card). Since you don't have any SD card, it seems this is an Focus issue regardless microSD or not.
I had an HTC HD 7 that did the same thing. It would reboot and it would be back to factory settings. I was lucky enough that a ROM was available so I re-flashed the phone and everything worked perfect. I think you will be hard pressed to find an available ROM for the Focus, so best to exchange it for a new one.
I called att tech support and they did the standard walk me through troubleshooting. I did a software hard reset and a hardware hard reset (Camera button, volume down and power) In the end after resetting the phone froze on the Samsung boot screen. They sent me to an att wireless store to try a new battery. In the end att warranty services declared that the phone was dead and is mailing me a new (refurb) phone. Bummer. I loved my phone, but something killed it that I cannot identify. That calls for a little concern, but I'll chalk this up as a one time if the new phone has no issues.
Hate to break it to you but me (along with many others) have had this problem with the Focus where it just gets stuck on the Samsung boot screen.
Unfortunately, the cause is still unknown so it can affect basically anyone. And there is no fix for it yet (besides an exchange) so people outside the US who own the Focus are simply out of luck.

I'd strongly recommend against ppl purchase Samsung phones that they can't get warranty service locally. Samsung Phone's build quality is lousy. Your chances of need the warranty service is very high. I owned 5 Samsung phones, half of them had problems. Some I just live with them (like the broken GPS on my Captivate). Some I have to swap it out with AT&T warranty services (one with known antenna separation issue and one with a broken chagre port after a few months, also a known issue for that phone).

Phone keeps rebooting

Pretty much anytime I try to use YouTube, or play a game, or just do almost anything except Phone/Text/Internet... my phone will stop what it is doing a do a full reboot. It's really getting on my nerves now.
There are some other forum discussions out there on this, but they are all with Android devices in which people have rooted their phone and messed something up themselves. For a completely stock, non jacked around Focus... does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
Does this just sound like a defect Samsung will have to deal with directly?
I had and HTC HD7 that did that (re-boot) constantly. I was lucky enough to flash it with a clean rom and everything worked perfect.
Unfortunately there are no roms for the Focus, so take it back for exchange/refund or some kind of swap under warranty.
This problem happens to me, but that's only because I have a 32 GB SD card in. Are you sure you didn't put an SD card in your Focus?
No SD card for me. I really don't have a lot of music or pictures on my phone so the stock memory is fine with me. It stopped doing it this last weekend so I may have lucked out.
I actually swapped my old Captivate with someone back in December yo get this phone, so getting it exchanged or using the warranty is probably not an option. Ugh.
Wow, so I replied too soon. It's doing it again while I'm trying to use Netflix. AARRRRRRR

With no intent to offend, are you sure there is no card installed in the MicroSD slot under the back cover? You have actually taken off the back cover and looked at the empty SD card slot? I ask because you say you swapped someone for it, so maybe they installed the card before you got it.
If not, have you tried a hard reset?
Ya.... try doing the three finger reset if you already haven't done so. And yes, check that memory slot. Who knows even if they put a 4GB card in there, it still might not be working properly.
No offense taken! I just confirmed there is no memory card inside.
Won't the 3 finger reset automatically format my phone? Do I need to sync with my Zune before I do this to ensure all of my pictures and internal data isn't lost?
yes, sync with zune to save your photos and videos, Windows Live will save your calendar settings and contacts, and you'll have to reinstall your apps. You will lose any saved text conversations.
So my phone reset this weekend after trying to take a picture, and is now executing an infinite reboot cycle on the Samsung logo. I can't even do the 3 finger salute to re-format and start from scratch! No SD card fyi.
Has anyone tried sending their phone back to Samsung Repair center. Since the phone hasn't even been out for a year they said it would most likely be covered under manufacturers warranty, however they said I would need to provide a receipt, but since it was a gift from a family member all I have is the original box. They didn't keep the receipt (it was purchased online).
Just curious if someone else has had a similar issue. I figured taking it to an AT&T store will do me no good since Managers bonuses are directly tied to any replacements or damaged goods they take back if it wasn't purchased in their store.
did you guys figure out a solution to this? my phone keeps restarting now... at least 20 times a day!!! this is ridiculuous!! i bought this one last november and i'm pretty sure it's too late to complain.
what did you guys end up doing?
I am sorry to tell you this, but I had to buy a new phone. I discovered that one of the three golden battery contacts was bent. Tried everyone with no luck.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
You should go warranty.

Internal Memory

Every damn time I reboot this hand set I loose everything on the memory card....what a crock of dog doings......
Hope to god the OTA comes soon and fixes this as I have another 22 months of this before I can go back to HTC and a decent phone...
I knew I should have waited for the sensation or even the Galaxy s2
so very peeved now
UNless anyone knows how to stop it formating the memory on every boot I am going to have to resurect my Hero, at least that "just works"(tm)
are you talking about a sd card you bought? if so plug it into a pc and do a FULL format on it either it somehow got corrupted or the card took a crap, or the phone doesnt like that brand of sd card if you are talking about the internal memory on the phone itself either try and reload orginal firmware and if that doesnt do it send it for warranty
Internal memory NOT SD card....I arent that thick to muddle them up
It isnt like it's every time I reboot, just sometimes......
I assume you mean factory reset for "reload firmware" it's a thought but one I rather not have to mess about with....mainy cos I cant remember the motoblur login password AND when you press "fogoten password" it tell you to phone custard services...but with no helpful number or who's custard services to ring (moto or Orange).....
As for Warantee, going to be tricky as I arent in the UK for another 7 weeks (arent on land for another 6 come to think about it!)
LOL, i am sorry but that's a really really funny issue.
Anyway, whatever is happening - it's not the Atrixe's fault.
I have never seen anyone having an issue like this.
I have took the first week to set / mod my Atrix up according to my needs (running hand made mod of a stock ROM), and for me it's the perfect phone I ever dreamed about.
Anyway, back to your problem, have you done been doing some modding?
Try to remember what you did with the phone exactly before the problem started?

Hi,
Plug phone into PC.
Format (not quick) both drives that show up in "my computer", or "computer".
Cheers!
Just so you know, you can skip MotoBlur. I bought a second hand Atrix and the guy left his MotoBlur account in, so I had to. Search around to find the instructions if you're really interested.
if you have to just use another email address and register for motoblur again
Right I'll try formatting it AGAIN...

Bloody anoying if you cant trust your phone to power cycle without back up the memory first...about as much use a t*t's on a frog

If i were you i'd factory restore first.
I doubt the problem is in the SD card needing to be formatted.
however formating the SD card has thrown up some oddness....2GB card reporting in as 1.4GB when formatting in WIndows, so got phone to format the card it self, then all of a sudden it reports 1.89GB (which is close to enough 2GB), so now re-formatting again in windows and try again.....
Failing that it's factory reset time, which will have to wait till I get back to UK as I cant DL my apps on this connection (way to limited satalite internet!)
Thanks all, and ayone with any other ideas would be muchly appreciated

Regardin the bold part -it's showing everything correctly. 2GB in reality is around 1.89GB - that's a common marketing lie for selling flash memory and hard drives.
Yeah I knew / figured that..hence the comment near enough...and considerabley closer than the 1.48 it was reporting initially...maybe GB left somthing behind.....Odd, only used it once then the OTA pre-update thingy that Orange sent broke it, so i didnt bother again, and probs wont, still miffed about it though!
Plan to reboot it a few times over the next few days and see if we have a fix or not, there aint alot I can do from here (on a ship in the middle of nowhere!) hey and ho...

Ok.... I've read a bunch of articles explaining things the way that manufacturers "round up" the number to make it look like higher capacity than it actually is.
But this is the first time i've read something like this. And its sort of sounds fishy.
How does the number of kilobytes change depending on the power? The hard drive either has a certain number of kilobytes or it doesn't. If the manufacturers are using a higher power, when there really isn't that many bytes, then indeed they are lying.

How does the number of kilobytes change depending on the power? The hard drive either has a certain number of kilobytes or it doesn't. If the manufacturers are using a higher power, when there really isn't that many bytes, then indeed they are lying.

Its just a different definition of what a kilobyte is. I say a KB is 1000 and you say its 1024, who is right? Of course manufacturers will go for the one that means less actual capacity per KB, and the OS guys go for their binary value because they are nerds who think and breathe in it, but that doesn't mean that either definition is inherently better than the other.
And if you are still having that problem I would return it within the 30 days and get a new one. Sounds like you might have some bad flash on your phone

Well, excuse me, KB = 1024. If manufacturers are trying to say it's 1000, then indeed, they are lying. Kilobyte has always been 1024, OS interprets it as 1024, if i download a 1 gig movie, it's gonna count to the power of 2, not 10.
So yes, manufacturers are kind of lying.

that would be a good feat, seeing as there are 22 months left on contract, he has already apparently used 2 months already.
It sounds like something in the OTA didn't install correctly. If you don't want to unlock your phone, I would take it to the Carrier, and have them reflash the ROM for you. That's the first time that I've seen a problem like that, so that is an odd occurrence. I wouldn't be so quick to damn the phone because of an odd occurrence, that same thing could have happened to an HTC, an iPhone, a Blackberry, or whatever.

That and I am quite litererally all at sea with no shops for 1000's of miles

SD card notifications is a hardware issue

I did some testing today and it appears that the SD card issue regarding the notifications we've been getting is a hardware issue and cannot be fixed through OTA's.
All day long while I was sitting at my desk with my phone laying flat, I did not get the notifications but as soon as I left the house and put the phone in my pocket, I got my first SD card notification.
I can now recreate the notification every time by turning my phone upside down and slightly tapping my finger where the SD card sits.
I'll probably just wait until Samsung fixes this and then warranty it through Tmobile. They've never gave me problems when it comes to shipping replacement phones.

Yep, its an issue with the sim card tray hopefully.
If it is i imagine theyll just ship out new ones to affected people. Dont want to have to return the whole thing if possible
I haven't got a single notification about my SD Card except for the first time after my phone boots up.

Doesn't happen with mine. When I first turned it on after inserting it I got the notification but then I just swapped it away maybe 3 times and it's gone for good.

which is why you wait till all the defects on the 1st batches are sorted out
Yes its officially an hardware issue
I have had the same issue non-stop for a while. I did everything mentioned here without any exception. Its not only the notification. Its also when you are listening music and checking photos from your external SD card that the device suddenly stop responding. I have a friend who work for Samsung Canada and he is in a "high level position". They have been aware of the issue since March 11. All their first shipments (their first batch) has this issue. And they quickly worked on it for the second build. However, we don't exactly know when this second build will be on the shelves (they may already be or not). Sometimes, it takes months. Because they had a lot made before the launch. And they will pass all of those before going to the second batch with the fix. Its an hardware issue officially. Sad but we got a lemon. We are now stuck with it. I would certainly be more than happy to flag this on Twitter, Facebook, everywhere possible. Where is the facebook page to complain.
I guess I'm lucky then. I don't get SD card notifications.
I am a journalist in the tech field
And BTW, I've spoke to Samsung Canada for 2 hours with a supervisor and they will not admit this is a problem so no they will not ship new devices to affected people. As I have commented on my last post, I know from from a trusted source at Samsung (high level employee) that it is a hardware issue and that it will be fixed with new batch. However, he did not know when this new batch would be on the shelves. This could take months as they will sale the first batch first. Samsung Canada will not acknowledge and will not give people other devices.
I had that on my first S7 edge...2 replacements later the problem was gone...

I preoredred from samsung and got my s7 edge on 8th of march and have no sd card issues. I have samsung 64gb pro micro sd card.
I only get it right after a reboot and that's it...
Please note that this can go away for a few days but will come back. No matter what you do (hard reset = I did 8 times), 2 micro SD, one Sandish and one Samsung = same problem. Unfortunately, it is a hardware issue. If I were you, I would protect my phone with a case and screen protector (to ensure to keep full warranty of the device) and wait a few months to get a phone from a new batch. I have a friend who works at Samsung Canada and he anonymously told me that this is a known issue by Samsung who will not admit it and they will still sale the batch that was previously build with this issue. Once they get new batch, this will be fixed. Also, my assumption is that the issue will get worse overtime (sun, cold, bending, pockets, etc). Good luck.
what's the problem?
SD card notifications? what notifications does the SD card give? I only encountered the reformat it on first insert and every time I reboot.

mine does the same
is the normal or ....................
The problem is more than the notification use your SD. Listen to music for a while and at the same time access your pictures on the SD. It may not do it for a while, but it will eventually. Everything will freeze (no SD recognized) until you restart the phone. I have 6 friends who bought the phone and it did eventually do it. I did reformat and hard reset, and every possible steps 8 times and it does come back.

i have this phone for just 5 days and for the last 4 days i got this notification every reboot, but today, it just disappears. the last thing i did was transferred all apps possible to sd (external) as i could not do a back up (titanium backup) due to low memory.

The notification when you reboot the phone is totally normal. What is not, it's the random eject when you use the SD content. Some people have better device than others. I had pre ordered mine. Your 5 days purchase may be in the new batch. I don't know this for sure though.
