[REQUEST] 2G\3G Autochanger - Android Software Development

Everybody knows that HTC Android devices can't change 3G\2G operator autimatically. For example, in my country 3G available only in cities and when I left the city I can connect to the 2G operator(national rouming).
But my phone just lose the connection and I'am "offline".
Here is an idea:
1. In preferences choose the 2G national rouming operator
2. When 3G connection lost automatically change phone to "2G mode only" and connect to the predefined national rouming operator.
3. When "2G mode only" disabled - try to connect to 3G. If connection succesfull then - ok, else - switch back to "2G mode only".
What do you think about it? Will be great to see it as the option in Cyanogen mod

automatic turn off GPRS/EDGE at GSM network change?

Hi,
I have a short Question. Is it possibly to turn off the data connection, when the phone switches the GSM/GPRS network? I live here very close to Switzerland. But when it switches to a Swiss GSM I should be available, but the data connection should close.
I know that there is the programm "No GPRS" but AFAIK it doesn't turn off the data connection automatic. (The I-Phone has such a function integrated as example)

How to change from GPRS to 3G/HSDPA?

I've got my new phone today and it's awesome!!
For some reason, it's only connecting on GPRS (a "G" in the bar at the top) and I can't find the setting to tell it to seach for 3G/HSDPA networks!
On my old phone, I manually set it to only use GPRS, so this maybe why as the setting is remembered on the simcard (?).
There is an option to switch on and off 3g data access under Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Use only 2g Networks

no GSM network available

have you guys seen that message before?
it's just something i noticed every now and then when i go into an area of the building that have no cell reception and back to the window, it will not try automatically pick up the GSM signal after it disconnects itself from the GSM network
it used to work automatically in JG9, but after upgrading to JH2 i need to manually choose a network again for it to work the phone & data after disconnection.
When we go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Network Operators
there is not really any option for it to tick a check box for it to automatically select a network, you have to manually hit the option "Select Automatically" (not really automatic if you ask me )

[Q] hd2 cannot connect to any 3g network

Hey guys, long time lurker here
i'm currently having a serious problem with my unlocked hd2
i'm unable to connect to any 3g network, i have tried changing simcard, changing radio, flash back to wm,no result
it say "unable to connect to this network, please try again later"
however, yesterday i played with the phone diagnostic (*#*#4636#*#*) and change network mode to 3g only, still same, unable to connect, then i try to change to euro band by pressing windows key, select radio band.
after i leave it for 5 minutes, i noticed it get "G" internet connection with no signal
i opened browser then i can browse the net, run speedtest and get ~400 kbps which is my 3g speed, but i cannot receive any sms, and voice call.
my conclusion is that my phone can connect to 3g network but i dunno what wrong with it
You do realise that you need to change the settings for each network provider - Data, Voicemail and SMS.
Some telecoms website help sections will send you the settings via SMS or you can search via the web.

Why its Manual Network selection needed before connecting MOBILE DATA?

I'm using v2.2.1 oxygen stock os.
I think this should i ask you this. I set my "Preferred network type" as 3g (im using single sim only).
but problem is that when i try to connect mobile data, it works fine for the moment but when i disconnect and then when i try to connect after 1 hour or few hours later, it doesnt connect.
Then i have to select the Network manually and then it works again.
I mean all the time i have to select the network manually first to let mobile data be connected.
also, in the NETWORK OPERATORS, its still saying "choose a network operator" always even after selecting the network manually.
Any idea why it is happening so? coz its very awkward that before you want to connect mobile data, you need to select the network manually all the time.
Note:- WIFI is working fine.
Please send your setting's screenshot for aiding the help.
Thanks in advance.
