Hey guys, I just got my HD2 and was wondering which OS's can be booted from what media?
Android
NAND
SD
WP7
NAND
WM6.5
NAND
Do I have these right?
Also, let's say I have NAND android, is it possible to install NAND WP7 and dual boot them?
Thanks.
Wp7 can only be booted from NAND. It can be dual booted with Android on SD. WM6.5 can only be dual booted with Android on SD and obviously they can all run on their own using NAND.
So basically no 2 NAND OS's can be installed at a time. Got it, thanks!

ok so i want to know if i were to flash android after using wp7, would all the data still be there when i flash back to wp7?
because from what i know wp7 saves data to the sd card. would i have to unlock again and all that other mumbo jumbo.

Just did this lastnight and nothing happened to WP7. Infact Android failed to flash to nand so I'd say no.
Might as well wait until MAGLDR 1.13 dual boot may be included

You will need to unlock again etc because the unlock affects data on nand not your SD card.

It failed because you did something wrong. I have flashed WP7 and Android to NAND multiple times without problem.

You can dual boot WP7 and Android already. You simply have to partition your card correctly.
Check teh SD forum stickies for the partitioning guide, its really easy.
I'm currently booting WP7 from NAND and Android from SD.
i was wondering, is UltimateDroid 3.0.1 able to be dual booted from the NAND with WM6.5, or can it only be booted from the SD? love it on the Droid, and it would be awesome to have it on the HD2.
Boots from NAND, you have to flash MAGLDR, and then Clockwork recovery, then you flash the UD zip thru recovery.

awesome thanks! another question, if i flash a NAND android build, will it only boot android or can i boot another OS i.e. WM6.5/WP7? now i just need to find a usb cable...
You could boot an SD Android build from the card with Android on NAND, but no other OS as of now. There is talk of WinMo 6.5 booting from SD sometime in the future though.
NANDroid UD runs super smooth though, like a native Android phone, only faster :-D

No.. as long as you perform a task29 once in a while then you should be fine.. Just don't loose the Key for WP7 if you have one..
I switch around all the time
I know to do this we can boot into MAGLDR and install the Nand Android Rom. However is that all there is to it or do I have to reformat the sd card first? If so how do we do this? Thanks.
hi there
i gave a problem with magdlr
i can not boot from android on sd?
its reboots before it boots up, or it will boot to the NAND rom?
when i choose AD SD..?
any help apriciated
Take a look at the thread for the SD card build you are trying to use to see if there are any special instructions to be able to use it with MAGLDR. I know some of the SD card builds require a different roof.img to be able to boot using MAGLDR. Also look for a readme file in the ROM that might have the needed information you are looking for. For example this quote comes from the American Android SD card build thread.
Includes optional rootfs.img that allows to boot build from magldr (!readme! in /sdcard/Android/SDMAGLDR)

Here is a link to the thread.
in mgldr menu go to 'services' then 'boot settings' then 'ad sd dir' then choose the directory of your sd android (which is bootable by mgldr as indicated in the previous post) after that you'll be automatically directed to the mgldr main menu. then choose 'boot ad sd' . booting takes longer than nand roms.
i have all that done
i am not noobish or what. but i dont understand this,
ive flashed wm back. and the sd build would boot up.
then back to magdlr. and the same thing again.. first time its rebooting.. second time it boots the nand rom.?
ive have some apps from my sd build in my nand rom? that is stranger than that all!
rooft img is replaced btw..
if i understand right, when you reboot you want your phone start by the sd build. in sd build thread look at 3 dak's MIUI rom's first post, there is an instruction for that. the second thing, i think is related to sd-ext partition, both sd and nand roms are using it so apps pass from one to the other.
ahh ok
ill try with a SD without an EXT partition..
lets see what happens then
i had putting an sd build @ a nokia 2 gb micro sd.. no ext partition
and i see the NAND bootscreen again ...
what could it be?
roofs.img is replaced, magdlr is correct configured,
a last recommendation, wipe nand build. first boot sd build from beginning then setup nand build. if it doesn't work it goes beyond me. sorry i couldn't help. i boot two sd builds in mgldr americandroid and 3 dak's MIUI and i haven't these kind of problems. good luck

If you want your SD card build to be the default Android you boot with MAGLDR, then from the main menu of MAGLDR go to option #10 Services/0ption #1 Boot Settings/option #1 Boot Source/ option #1 Android from SD. This will tell MAGLDR to boot the SD card build by default.
Sorry I can not be of any more help booting SD Android builds with MAGLDR. I have never done it before so I really have not researched it.
the problem stays....
very strange... i have eerlier running perfectly 2 builds of android on my hd2 ..
If the kernel from sd build is nand kernel like tytung r10 then when you choose ad sd from magldr it will boot into nand build.if you have wm or wp7 into nand, there is no problem
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
ahh that is the issue.. thnx mate
the SD build i use uses a tytung r10 kernel
now i must search to a another compatible kernel, anyone some suggestions?
Hi,
I hope this question will not touch your nerves...
I already can flash Winmo or Android (SD or NAND). I Know how MGLDR and CWM are working. Now I wanted to install WinMo 6.5 AND android on SD, and keep the MAGLDR as bootloader. But, if I flash a WINMO rom, then I loose MAGLDR, and if I install MAGLDR after the winmo, i get Win no booting anymore.
How can I do? Thanks!
i think it's not possible.

Not possible, MAGLDR completely replaces WinMo and vice versa. Although, you could flash WP7 from MAGLDR and have Android SD if you wanted Or, if you wanted to keep WM6.5 surely the logical thing to do would be to run WM6.5 and an SD Android build? MAGLDR serves no functionality with an SD build of Android
Thanks both!
Yeah i realized it's not possible. I would like to have he best way to boot android (mounted on SD) without struggle woth windows each time. I want to keep the 6.5. At the moment i'm trying rundroid out, any better suggestion?

Nah RunDroid was the best for me when I used SD Android
As for the skipping WinMo part, if you never want to use it again why not flash NAND Android?
i agree, i don't understand why people ever want to run WM on their HTC HD2, android is way better in my opinion.

I agree, I was die-hard WinMo when Android first started working on SD and I only played with it as a hobby. Now I haven't used WinMo since earlier this year and will never go back. Team Blue Droid on Nand and ICS on SD is my way to go now.
