I was wondering if there is a program or spl to unlock the phone so i can use it for at&t
No, buy a code or ask t mobile.
Where can we buy the code? I have tried like 3 different vendors (offline) but none of them have been able to get the unlock code. I read somewhere that the latest HD2s are coming with a new Series and it is hard to find the unlock codes for them. Is it true?

I did it twice with this guy. http://www.htccode.com/
First time when it was new $15, and second time with a new motherboard replacement. It had the new IMEI, but he was able to do it still. I think it cost an extra $10 because of new database, but it was worth it for me.
His site has you download a program. I was not able to get that working because I was paying with PayPal, but he walked me through it on the Live Chat window in about 5 mins. Both times, VERY quick, and very easy. Nice to deal with.
Hi. I have a problem. I have the unlock code from T-Mobile and I use it to unlock my phone (I had the shipping ROM 2.10.531.1) and after that I updated my ROM to 2.13.531.1 and now the phone is locked again and the code is not working. What can I do? Thanks
By flashing a new ROM your device should not have re-locked itself as far as I know. Try going back to 2.10 and see if it is indeed unlocked, or just slap your SIM in the phone as it is, cancel the SIM unlock and see if it can dial out without entering the code. If it can, just ignore the prompt and use the device as normal. This used to happen on the Wizard, phantom "relocks" but if you just ignored 'em all was like normal. I do not know if it works with the HD2 aswell but I suppose it is worth a try!
I myself SIM unlocked my US HD2 and have flashed several ROMs includeing stock ones and have never had my device re-lock on me.
Yea but the problem is that I don't have anymore the version 2.10 and beside that today I put an AT&T sim and the phone said that the sim is missing :-?

Try a hard reset.
Is the phone not asking you to enter any code?
I tried hard reset, but is not working and is not asking me for code. I just have in start menu a prog called SIM App. and there it ask the code but when I put the code it say that is wrong even if the first time with 2.10 ROM it worked. I spoke with T-Mobile and they don't know or don't want to tell me because I'm not their customer. Nobody have the original 2.10? the one that is shipped with the phone?
Ive gotten 2 activation codes from Microsoft now and both say activation failed. The second time it happened inputting it while on the line with Microsoft and they told me to contact htc about the problem. Im using wifi because i dont have a data plan right now is a data plan needed for the activation or has anyone else had and fixed this problem?

I activated whilst connected to wi-fi so shouldn't be an issue.
Follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911579
to the letter and all should be fine, if not your one in a million and f****d ; )
P.S. Did you get your codes direct from Microsoft personally?? Are you inputting the codes correctly?? i.e nothing mistyped or Capitals letters? (Not sure if this makes a difference but I always use them with Microsoft products)
Just telephoned the UK microsoft for activation, tel 0844 800 2400
Any they told me that they can't issue an activation code, I would have to call the phone provider.
What do I do now ?

I activated mine via that number fine couple of days ago. Try a few times, yo may get a operator that will do it.
If they keep saying that, its likely that they have changed policy so that you have to contact HTC directly, If that's the case you are **** out of luck and will not be able to activate your phone.
Just tried again, spoke to another operator and they have been told not to give out any more activation codes, I have to contact my phone provider o2...
So I guess that's me dropping windows phone, shall go back to android, bloomin ridiculous
You could always try the Zune help line they do activations aswell had to speak to them the other day about my HD7 but they did take my IMEI number. Maybe worth a shot?
+44 (20) 3450-5855
Just tried the UK microsoft line again, now I have tried 5 times with five different people, THEY ARE NO LONGER SUPPLYING ACTIVATION CODES
Also tried the Zune, blimey they take a long time to get through, anyway, they are not allowed to give out activation codes
SO PLEASE developers, what are the options here ?
This is really annoying as I actually rather like windows phone amazingly
ive tried twice with two different names and makes of phones to two different people and they told me to phone the handset maker for the activation code.
The bad thing is theres a few people who got a code the other day but have gone back to android so there codes are not being used. PM me if thats you!
How can you use someone else's code ?
IF YOU CAN PLEASE SEND ME ONE IF YOU DONT LIKE WP7
it would be good to know what HTC actually say in regards to activation codes as i thought its would be a Microsoft thing.
The whole activation code system imo is absolutely pathetic. Its locking your phone down just like the iPhone does.....

This is kind of the point! Each WP7 'authentic' device has a certificate on it to make it 'authentic', if a device is not manufactured with WP7 on it as standard or is distributed by an OEM before the certs are registered with MS then there is no certificate for it....which is why it asks for activation...quite simple really.
I got my code this morning from the US activations number. A very friendly girl called Rachael took my name, Windows Live ID my *FAKE* IMEI number, mobile number, postcode and country details and 15 mins later I had a code.
In my case the code only works if you do the registry changing prior to activation but have had no issued at all so far and am quite liking the new lease of life my HD2 has now, will be great to dual boot with Android.
i got mine through persistence, it makes this phone way better!

I phoned this morning and got through straight away and the guy gave me an activation code straight away (I quoted this if it helps http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2431699)
The number I used 0844 800 2400 and selected option 2 then option 7.

I phoned Microsoft this morning (17th) and the person said right away to contact my service provider because there not giving out codes, phones back at 11:00am another took my name, email address and mobile number, minutes later he said to contact service provider, I phoned o2 and they said they know nothing of this, he even checked the web for me and said he had no idea other than to call Microsoft, so I phoned them back at 11:30 and person took name, email and phone number, asked if it was the hd7 and I said yes, minutes later a got a activation code, I put it in using cap locks and didn't work so tried lowercase and it worked fine, don't listen to Microsoft if they say no or tell you to phone HTC or your service provider, there talking crap
Hope this helps all Uk users
I just told them that ive tried speaking to htc and o2 and they were saying it was down to microsoft so the guy on the phone said ok and gave it me via an email.
you can get codes by phone and Email
This morning i thought that there was no chance of getting my HD2/7 working with Live but I emailed asking a for an activation code via Microsoft support any way
I didn't think this would happen so I followed BrannanD's instructions and called MS quoting the support webpage etc
The operator asked for phone no and an email address and then told me my activation code and it is all working fine.
As soon as my phone had activated and had installed its hotmail app, I received an email reply from MS for the activation code i asked for online this morning.
Try everything IT WILL WORK!!

Hi what was the URL / email address you used?
WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO, after my lucky number 7 attempt, I got a bit shirty and said, I have been back and forth from HTC to o2 back you...
Now my phone is activated, let the good times roll, thanks for your help people
Yes it pays to keep on at them! Lucky enough I have not had any problems with the UK, and Just got my second set emailed too.
Russ
I have actually rang up Microsoft now 5 times and got my activation code from the first call with no problems at all. Trouble is when I enter the activation code it comes back with this message:
Problems with server
We are really sorry, but we've run into a problem, and we are not sure what caused it. This might be a tempory issue that will be fixed if you try again later, but if you keep seeing this error and want to call support, here's an error code that ight help them figure out the problem: error code 0xFFFFFFEC.
I figured I would give Microsoft another call and now they are saying there is a problem with my phone and to contact HTC.
I called on this mobile friendly number which I got from www.saynoto0870.com, 01954 713950.
So, I've been having a lot of problems getting an activation code since they've been asking for the IMEI numbers. My question is, are the activation codes they generate phone specific? For example, I have access to a Dell Venue Pro. It's a sample. If I ask them for an activation code using the IMEI of the Dell (and telling them it's a Dell,) will the activation code work for the HTC HD2? Thanks for the help in advance.
i think it does not.
was same at biginning for me, but you have to get a assistant, a person at call to ask him.
I actually have the phone in front of me and I have the IMEI. I just want to make sure that if I get the code, I can use it for the HD2. No sense in me trying to get it if it won't work for my phone.
Well it wouldn't hurt to try. When I got my activation code for my HD2 I was told that I could use the code multiple times on the SAME PHONE which insinuates that it could be phone specific. I could be wrong though. Give it a try, you never know.
At first the phone activation code is not specific.
Activation Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928695
They need your name and your phone number (both must not be real), no IMEI.
After you get your code and enter it in your phone, it get's specific i think. It doesn't matter if you hardreset your phone, you can enter it as many times as you need it, but i think only on your phone...
Hello Everybody,
I recently purchased an Htc Evo Shift which was already flashed to boost. When I added money to the phone for use I realized that the phone had an odd number being that every one i was calling would not pick up on the first few tries thinking that I was a telemarketer. I called boost to change the number to a local area code but after they made the change we encountered a problem. I dont know what the exact code was but it consisted of two pounds , four numbers starting with 3 , and another pound. They repeatedly asked me to press ##3---# to bring up a menu to update the phone so I could use the new phone number. I'm assuming the code was for the incognito because after the process didnt work they asked if i was using the incognito. I simply told them yes and that I would call back to finish the process when i had time. The phone now does not have service or internet until i can get it to recognize the new phone info.
I dont know what to do, if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

What she was trying to get you to bring up was the ESPT ( ##3282# ) . That will take you to a Menu that says view or edit. If you press view it will let you view the information. But if you press EDIT, then another Menu comes up that says enter code. This is where your going to need your MSL ( Master Subsidy Lock ) . That will let you enter the Menu, and actually make changes. You can go on the Android Market and download MSL Reader, or just Google it. Then connect your phone to the PC via USB, and load it that way. You can also check THIS THREAD for info.
