I have searched and searched and for some reason I can't find the answer.
I would like to try out the new WP7, but I need a radio that suports 576 of RAM.
Specs:
Stock T-mobile US
Radio 2.15.50.14
I have done nothing to the phone yet and don't want to screw it up and have my wife yelling at me. (and if I screw my phone up, trust me she will yell for days) So before I just did it I thouhgt I would ask.
And yes, I really did search before I asked. Sorry but I couldn't find the answer.
any t-mobile us radios support 576 of ram, so you are good to go.
I have a 576 MB RAM HD2 running WP7 and I am using the same Radio as you.
Just out of interest, are you sure your HD2 is not the T-Mobile 1024 MB model?
After looking I do have the 1024, So that means that I will have no issues?

wp7 works but only uses 512mb of rom...
With a TMO US HD2 you have 1024MB ROM, and 576MB RAM.
any radio above 2.08 supports 576 ram..that is why we need radio above 2.08 even to run android...............your tmous well supports this and has 576mb ram enabled...so go ahead flash hspl and android nand / wp7, enjoy
Is this true of the UK HD2 as well?
So any radio above 2.08 will support 576 RAM, even non-us tmobile versions?
Thanks a lot

Yes any 2.08 or higher Radio will enable the 576 MB of ram on a EU HD2.
will just flashing to the newer radio enable the higher ram capacity to be unlocked using the stock win mobile 6.5 rom? or does a custom rom also have to be used in conjunction with the updated radio rom?

The combination of a Radio of 2.08 or higher and a TMOUS Windows Mobile stock ROMs or TMOUS based custom Windows Mobile ROMs, or MAGLDR 1.13 enables the 576 MB of RAM.
thanks for the reply, is there any problem using the newer radio rom or the TMOUS on a UK HD2, i plan on using the phone with my UK T-Mobile carrier.
only tmous owners must be careful, our regular hd2s can take any radio, any rom. Only tmous must never flash a regular radio.

someone convinced me
i flashed tons of roms and radios but none seem to "activate" this hidden ram.
right now im on duttys HG ultimate with its preinstalled 2.08 radio (it said it would activate ram)
before i was running miri build 23549 with 2.06 radio and still nothing.
but than again, is it possible for a tmous leo to get this activated?

It's not "fake" as it is actually hardware, and physically present in the hardware of the phone.
The 2.06 Radio itself doesn't enable it, nor does any other radio for that matter. It is a combination of the ROM with the settings modified and the Radio which allows the phone to access the memory that is physically installed in the European HD2, but blocked in these ROMs "officially."
To my knowledge, only a two Radios (from the TMOUS ROM) actually allow the access of the blocked memory by the ROM. 2.07 and 2.08 versions with 50 and not 51 in their string codes.
IF you were running Miri's with a 2.06 radio, you did not see it activated.
It is also important to remember that the 576MB of memory is not going to be free or available in its entirety, because the system takes a part for itself to run the graphics system, etc.
This has been discussed in much greater detail here in the forum. Search for the threads and see for yourself.
so which combination would activate it with a tmous rom?

that T-Mob 576mb is crap and chefs should stop cooking them couse if you like T-Mob rom's go and buy that idiotic phone,i would never put that crap on mine at all,i just love the originals rom's cooked before T-Mob come out,all i can see is 576mb rom
The 576 mb ram is for real. Believe or not it's your choice, but it has been proven several times over. However we have enough ram already and some cooks may choose not to use it. If you are going to cook ROM's for a TMOUS device then it is good to use the 576 RAM.

Can anyone recommend a rom that only enables the RAM and nothing else? is it hard to cook one myself?
hi
i wish to get an HTC LEO insted my Captivate whice is kindda boooooring phone
is there any chance to unlock the extra memory from 448 to 576mb ram
after installing androind as primary OS?
Just flash the latest radio
Try this one Radio 2.15.50.14
don't use a 51 version
I may be wrong but I thought you had to have a TMOUS ROM (or stleast a ROM dazed from a TMOUS ROM) and a TMOUS radio to get the etrade memory. If this is so you will lose it when. you flash a NAND Andriod ROM. Like I said though I could be wrong.

the latest 2.15.50 radio enables the 576 memory... since the radio is at the base of the hd 2 a rom flash of android or windows won't erase it. now stock wm6.5 roms have radios built in so in those cases it will replace it

i installed AmericanAndroid in SD card but the total memory available(RAM) is only 411 ( settings>about) though the Tmobile HD2 has RAm of 576 MB.
i m not about to figure out why
We all show 411. For a start (as documented countless times) the graphics chipset takes 128 Meg, so you only really have 448, (same in winmo) then I guess android or the system must take 30 odd meg,
I've tried five or six different nand roms and they all show 411.
Ok thanks for the clatification just to confirm r u also using tmobile hd2 US version
no, but magldr unlocks the extra ram on a reg leo in the same way that tmous rom and radio does in winmo, otherwise mine would show 283 not 411 (or there abouts) since as stock we have 448 - 128 for graphics = 336 actually available.
Thats why we reg users must use ..50.. radios with magldr.

i couldn't understand most of what you said .. are you saying that there are specific MAGLDR and RADIO version to enable full RAM capacity for TMOUS HD2?
and as i understand u r also using TMOUS HD2 and you also getting 411 MB total available memory in Androids builds.. if that is so then i dont have anymore query . because you know more of this stuff than me.. i just put android in my TMOUS HD2 yesterday..
also i m using Radio Leo 2.15.50.14 Radio version and MAGLDR113_DAF MAGLDR..
No, I'm using a normal Leo, (euro hd2, regular, whatever you wanna call it) which is sold as having 448 Meg of ram, with 128 for gfx, 320 useable, ( yours has 576 with 448 useable) but was soon discovered that flashing tmous roms and radio to it unlocks an otherwise hidden 128 Meg, giving us 576 meg too.(don't anyone bother asking is it real, the software believes it, many many people with a ton more knowledge than me believe it, it works, nuff said)
Anyway, magldr requires a tmous radio to work(none of this affects you, you can't not have a tmous radio else you would have a brick) and magldr plus tmous radio does the same for us reg users as a tmous winmo rom and radio, unlocks our hidden ram and so we all have 576-128less a bit more =411 available to the OS
You DO NOT have hidden ram, so don't ask.
Oh thanks that brings a lot of clarity to my understanding. So basically tmous which were sold with have larger ram of 576 and the other non US hd2 sold with said 448 ram are basically same in terms if ram hardware capacity. When i bought hd2 i paid special attention to tmous hd2 necause it ad larger ram capacity bow i realise both tmous and non US hd2 are same.
what about the internal ROM capacity is it also hidden and discovered in the case of non US hd2
Thanks a lot for your clariication
No, there's no hidden rom (well, not that anyone has found, be nice tho!) So you still have double rom PLUS the tmouses were pretty heavily subsidised, (I paid near 175 dollars cash plus 18 months at 60 dollars/mth contract ((all in pounds, I'm estimating)) for mine) so don't feel you were ripped off. The only negative with the tmous is the danger of radio bricking and the ugly branding on the case.

Please reply what is the issue?

I have WM 6.5 and american android SD 2.3.7 . When I have SPL 2,08 HSPL I have on my HTC HD2 all the RAM unlocked and when I change to SPL 3,03 HSPL I have only 448 MB in WM 6.5 and 411 MB in android.
I think that using SPL 2,08 HSPL unlock the whole RAM in HTC HD2.

I have HSPL 2.08....
And I think Tmous HD2 doesn't need to unlock ram... because its originally shows 512 mb.
But I don't know why my Tmous showing this less amount of ram.

Didn't you even bother reading the first page of this thread?! Some people can be so stupid...
NO, THERE IS NO HIDDEN RAM WHICH CAN BE UNLOCKED. IN ANDROID YOU WILL GET 411 MB AND NOTHING MORE.
Also, why would you even need any form of HSPL for SD Android? It's not needed, and why would you flash HSPL3.03 rather than 2.08?
I had a T-Mobile HD2. It got broken and was changed for an EU version.
I'm in the process to install NativeSD Android version and I can report what I noticed on my device.
It is running windows. No modification. WM 6.5 (5.2.21913; ROM 3.14.407.2 (04666) GER).
Before I setup the SPL to 2.08.HSPL, it was showing 411 MB of RAM. Now, after the 2.08, it is showing 576 MB.
(still on Win 6.5. I don't know how it is going to stay after installing the NativeSD Android)
So, maybe it is right...
Updating again...
After installing the Native-SD Android, the device shows 410 MB.
Here I found a possible explanation:
"NOTE2: You do NOT need to flash a Stock Rom before starting this, a Custom Rom will be fine as long as you have HardSPL 2.08 and a 576 RAM compatable Radio"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
So, it was showing 576 MB after update the radio and using WM.
After installing Native-SD Android, it shows only 410 MB.

same for everyone.
Did any brother know how to use all 576mb ram for this ROM?or it is using now?
If you are talking about unlocking the extra 128MB of RAM in the EU HD2s with the right radio and ROM combonation. Then yes MAGLDR unlocks the RAM that is one reason you have to have a 2.07.50.xx or higher radio to use MAGLDR.
Hello!
I have looked my way through every forum I could on the subject but cannot find my answer. I'm not sure If this is posted in the right section either. Anyways here's my problem.
I am trying to install WP7(mango) on my HTC HD2. Its SPL version is 3.03.0000. SO I know I need to use HSPL4.
The problem is that I need to flash a new radio which supports 576 MB. Right????
Also, Is there a certain MAGLDR I need to use for SPL 3.03?
Thanks for your help!

The radio version matters on the regional specs (U.S., Europe, Asia, SA, etc) of your phone not how much memory although only the U.S. version has 1gb others have 576. Regardless, WP7 only recognizes 576mb no matter which version.
There is radio thread in the rom development forum, I think, and also one here in general q&a, too.
As for HSPL, only v2.08 works for installing WP7 on the HD2. You will see what you need in any of the WP7 rom threads. v3.03 will not work.
See tutorial links in my signature.
So radio doesnt matter, but I need HSPL v2.08. I'm just going to assume I dont need a certain version of MAGLDR?

The radio does matter. Like I said, the hardware radio driver depends on your phone's region specs. If you have a European HD2, more than likely you'll have the correct driver but may need
to be updated to the latest European/carrier version. Look in the radio threads for any current version for your phone version and carrier.
There is only one version of Magdlr...2.something, I think.
Well I got everything I need now. Except the ROM because the link is broke. oh well.

Well, only HSPL 2.08 is usable to flash WP7 as well as Android. Besides, 576 is moot since WP7 consolidates RAM and SD for total system memory. WP7 is unusable without an SD card.
Use HSPL4 to install HSPL 3.03 then go on use it install HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR could only on HSPL 2.08
