how to open the extra memory at the regular hd2? - HD2 General

hi
i wish to get an HTC LEO insted my Captivate whice is kindda boooooring phone
is there any chance to unlock the extra memory from 448 to 576mb ram
after installing androind as primary OS?

Just flash the latest radio

Try this one Radio 2.15.50.14
don't use a 51 version

I may be wrong but I thought you had to have a TMOUS ROM (or stleast a ROM dazed from a TMOUS ROM) and a TMOUS radio to get the etrade memory. If this is so you will lose it when. you flash a NAND Andriod ROM. Like I said though I could be wrong.

the latest 2.15.50 radio enables the 576 memory... since the radio is at the base of the hd 2 a rom flash of android or windows won't erase it. now stock wm6.5 roms have radios built in so in those cases it will replace it

Flashed Radio 2.08.50.08_2... no 576 RAM?

Hi.
When this radio first came out on the forum the poster said that It has the 576MB of RAM hack. But when I flashed the radio (I have stock 1.66 and had radio 2.06.51.07) there was still 448MB of RAM showing under hardware information... What would activate the 576MB?
I never installed a new rilphone.dll could that be it? if so, which one should I get.

I believe you need to flash a rom that supports 576MB.
You must flash a TMUS (2.07, 2.10 )base ROM , the radio is not enough .
It will work only if you combine the two , radio plus ROM .
Cheers ~
Try Duttys HG ROM (link in my sig) if you want 576MB RAM...awesome ROM

[Q] What Radio supports 576 RAM.

I have searched and searched and for some reason I can't find the answer.
I would like to try out the new WP7, but I need a radio that suports 576 of RAM.
Specs:
Stock T-mobile US
Radio 2.15.50.14
I have done nothing to the phone yet and don't want to screw it up and have my wife yelling at me. (and if I screw my phone up, trust me she will yell for days) So before I just did it I thouhgt I would ask.
And yes, I really did search before I asked. Sorry but I couldn't find the answer.
any t-mobile us radios support 576 of ram, so you are good to go.
I have a 576 MB RAM HD2 running WP7 and I am using the same Radio as you.
Just out of interest, are you sure your HD2 is not the T-Mobile 1024 MB model?
After looking I do have the 1024, So that means that I will have no issues?

wp7 works but only uses 512mb of rom...
With a TMO US HD2 you have 1024MB ROM, and 576MB RAM.
any radio above 2.08 supports 576 ram..that is why we need radio above 2.08 even to run android...............your tmous well supports this and has 576mb ram enabled...so go ahead flash hspl and android nand / wp7, enjoy
Is this true of the UK HD2 as well?
So any radio above 2.08 will support 576 RAM, even non-us tmobile versions?
Thanks a lot

Yes any 2.08 or higher Radio will enable the 576 MB of ram on a EU HD2.
will just flashing to the newer radio enable the higher ram capacity to be unlocked using the stock win mobile 6.5 rom? or does a custom rom also have to be used in conjunction with the updated radio rom?

The combination of a Radio of 2.08 or higher and a TMOUS Windows Mobile stock ROMs or TMOUS based custom Windows Mobile ROMs, or MAGLDR 1.13 enables the 576 MB of RAM.
thanks for the reply, is there any problem using the newer radio rom or the TMOUS on a UK HD2, i plan on using the phone with my UK T-Mobile carrier.
only tmous owners must be careful, our regular hd2s can take any radio, any rom. Only tmous must never flash a regular radio.

[SOLVED] Hd2 leo WWE 3.14 base only 51mb internal memory free?

Hi,
I use oskitchen with leo 3.14 ROM as my base. If I use 1.66 ROM I have about 180mb free. If I use 3.14 as the base rom I only have about 50mb free. Basic rom built no addons.
Does any body know why this is eating up so much internal memory?
Solution
Fixed issue. I built a rom using RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2 and got 51mb free space. I then downloaded RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.13.531.1 and then used the nk.exe from this rom.
I rebuilt the exact same rom again but with the new nk.exe and got 171.42 free storage and 294.17 free program space.
Also with using this nk.exe from a tmous rom is this now compatable with users with a tmous device if they use the correct radio?

if you are using tmous 3.14.531.1 as base for your rom, make sure you use hspl2.08.
otherwise (with hspl3.03) you will face this memory issues.
if you are using a european rom as base, you can use hspl2.08 (memory issues) or 3.03.
but only with hspl2.08 and tmous 3.14.531.1 base you will have 576mb ram enabled.

Hi,
Im using Euro ROM as base, sorry should have mentioned that. I am also using HSLP 2.08 with radio 2.15, still only getting 51mb free. Bit random. My kitchen is in my sig below. If you wouldn't mind downlaoding a copy and having a look it would be much appreciated.
I think I am missing something obvious! As far as I can remember hslp 3 does not enable 576mb ram. Only 2.08 does.

if you want to use hspl2.08 (for android) you better use tmous base.
i can imagine that you also face memory issues this way around.
with "base" i mean not only oem but also rom (xip).
i also suggest you should download my osbuilder template kitchen for hd2 to have a look.

The problem is that I need to flash a new radio which supports 576 MB. Right????
Also, Is there a certain MAGLDR I need to use for SPL 3.03?

The radio version matters on the regional specs (U.S., Europe, Asia, SA, etc) of your phone not how much memory although only the U.S. version has 1gb others have 576. Regardless, WP7 only recognizes 576mb no matter which version.
There is radio thread in the rom development forum, I think, and also one here in general q&a, too.
As for HSPL, only v2.08 works for installing WP7 on the HD2. You will see what you need in any of the WP7 rom threads. v3.03 will not work.
See tutorial links in my signature.
So radio doesnt matter, but I need HSPL v2.08. I'm just going to assume I dont need a certain version of MAGLDR?

The radio does matter. Like I said, the hardware radio driver depends on your phone's region specs. If you have a European HD2, more than likely you'll have the correct driver but may need
to be updated to the latest European/carrier version. Look in the radio threads for any current version for your phone version and carrier.
There is only one version of Magdlr...2.something, I think.
Well I got everything I need now. Except the ROM because the link is broke. oh well.

US HD2 has 1GB NAND Flash memory vs EU HD2's 512 MB NAND Flash memory...both model has physically 576 MB RAM, but the EU model limited to 448 MB RAM by HTC for certain purposes. With the correct radio roms (with .50. in the version number) and HSPL, it can be allowed to 576 MB...

Well, only HSPL 2.08 is usable to flash WP7 as well as Android. Besides, 576 is moot since WP7 consolidates RAM and SD for total system memory. WP7 is unusable without an SD card.
Use HSPL4 to install HSPL 3.03 then go on use it install HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR could only on HSPL 2.08

[Q] Telstra HTC HD2 Running Android

Hello, Sorry if this message is posted in the wrong area, but this is my first post, i am a noob PLEASE HELP!
I have an unlocked Telstra branded HTC HD2 T9193 running the stock wm6.5
ROM and the stock RADIO.
OS Version 5.2.2169 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version 2.5.20121431.1
ROM Version 1.72.841.0 (82124) WWE
Radio Version 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol Version 15.32.50.07U
I want to run the NexusHD2 android build from my SD card but i have tried and it just sits at the linux boot code screen forever. I have looked on XDA developers and have found that i have to install HSPL3 and then flash the 2.15.50.14 RADIO ROM. Is this true? is there any other way to boot android without re flashing? I love my HD2 and am scared i will brick it? How can i ensure that i do not brick it (if i have to re flash a RADIO).

only tmous needs to be careful, , the radio brick you heard about doesn't affect you. (Well, there's always a slim chance with any flashing, but the infamous 'i flashed this radio/stock rom and now it wont turn on' brick doesnt affect your phone.)

So with TMOS devices you cannot flash a xx.xx.51.xx RADIO and have to flash a xx.xx.50.xx RADIO, but with a European or Australian device you can flash a xx.xx.50.xx RADIO, such as 2.15.50.14?
Yep, tmous 2.06.50 or higher,, must be x.xx.50
Regular+telstra - any radio, ..50.. or ..51.., will flash, however for compatibility with various things, (unlocking ram, using nand android, magldr) use high numbered ..50.. radios, 2.11.50 up to 2.15.50
