Hi,
after a week fighting with chevron, now I have problem with getting activation key to use marketplace etc...
Any one have idea how to do it? I read some threads and try some ways to get it,but nothing ;p Maybe some one form Poland activate it and can tell me how to do it ?
Ok, thread can be delated, ms poland give me my code

RTFM Just call Microsoft Poland and ask them nicely for a key

See here:

PL: Po prostu zadzwoń do polskiego oddziału MS i powiedz że masz problem z Marketem. Zapytają się o Twoje imię, nazwisko, numer telefonu oraz e-mail. Po wygenerowaniu klucza konsultant poda Ci go telefonicznie. Wszystko banalnie proste

i received it via chat support. No problems. Just don't give up when they will ask you to call local support.

They will not generate a code for You in Poland since there is no Live services in this country. Use web chat or call MS in US via skype (it's free!)

I call MS Poland today and in 3minutes they generate code for me ;]

Like i said. That is really simple

If you've got any problems locally then bust into Microsoft chat like a true American: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10856280#post10856280
Don't overdo the patriotism but if the agent asks, yes USA is indeed "number 1".

I have just called MS Poland (22)594 1000 , said that I want to activate my HD7 and they have generated the key and everything works gr8

Blackberry configuration

here are two files to configure blackberry for microsoft exchange and lotus notes including pdf file with instructions
tried to set this up before and drew a blank big time entered the info as it requested pin and imei but it kept saying i was a registerd user ,spoke to a decent bloke at 02 got to speak to him 2mora see if blackberry can reset my account even thou ive never used it strange anyone manage to get an account set up at www.o2email.co.uk .....
Pen6uin, where did you find the PIN to enable registration.?
The Pin
Can be found once you open up the blackberry software and go to settings, make surfe you click 'enable' and 'start', it will then be below the IMEI. I must add that O2 told me quite emphatically that this service will not be available until Jan. 2005.
blackberry service
For what its worth; I called O2 this morning as was told the Blackberry service was due to be available from 1 Nov, but there is a small delay.
The lady I spoke to went away and checked with the "data team" and told me it should be available in the next couple of weeks....
(Surprisingly; she was aware that the new rom release for XDA II included blackberry software; usually the call centre staff seem to be the last to know such things)
Was playing around with the Blackberry software installed the in 1.72 ROM but don't think i can use it as i'm not subscribed with O2 UK
What about Wallaby ?
Any hint whether this BlackBarre application can be installed in anyway on an XDA 1 ?
I lifted the HTC_PocketPC_1.2.4.19_O2_England.cab
from 1.72.181 extended rom from hobbit http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12526&highlight=blackberry
and tried to install in on a Qtek9090 (xdaIII, pda2k)
Everthing installs OK but when I am to connect to the device from the PC it claims that the "Services are not correctly configured"
I have checked for configuration files and settings in the registry but at a quick glance it seems that the configuration is hardcoded in some dll.
I have BlackBerry Enterprise in Sweden (Vodafone as carrier)
I wont give up yet but if anyone else succeds please write a few lines!
Best regards!
ok after a conversation with a rather upto date call center bod he has told me to call customer services and (get this he called me back lol ) they need to activate blackberry on my account and then try again apparently he said most off the setup is to be done on the handset so he will keep an eye on my account and then call me again (i feel honoured )when i have it activated to tell me the set up.what a nice man

Let us know when he gets back to you.
Have you got the logon to the site yet?
Did you have to ask for APN 57 (blackberry.net) from CS?
ok my quest continues ......
after speaking to cs this morning they put me onto data support who again are very knoledgable think there has been some training going on at 02 ,anyways he checks my account again and the usuall 'O' let me see if i can do it from here still no joy,he calls cs and does mention apn bydandie
he then transfers me to cs to give security details for the gzillianth time lol to activate it and says it should be activated within the next 24 hrs ...... so we shall see i will give an update asap
my surgestion is to mention the apn switch on for blackberry when calling cs to avoid the data support call .
Im getting the same issue about IMEI already being defined, and requested to log in with existing userid (which I havent set up).
Id also like to use my exisiting work VODAFONE SIM, which is GPRS enabled to our corporate BES (but Blackberry service removed) - will this work? (XDA is unlocked).
Finally anyone know if there's a true Vodafone/QTEK 2020 ROM upgrade - we've got these as work as well.
Blackberry Working!!!
Ignore my last posts - Ive now successfully got the XDA working on our corporate BES.
Was really a case of just following the instructions in the docs above, ensuring Blackberry enabled account (couresty Voda) being used.
No sweat.
Probably still some things to sort out for web based service though.
Andy
Hi. Great news!!! What is the actual cab file putting the BB functionality on the device? I would like to avoid installing the whole new ROM if at all possible. Has anyone tried installing just the BB? Thanks
Today I had time to test the BlackBerry client (look at my post above) HTC_PocketPC_1.2.4.19_O2_England.cab on a Qtek 2020.
And I got it working without any trouble
However, installed it on a 1.66 device and after a while the Bb client disconnected from gprs and I had to connect it again.
I connected it against a Blackberry enterprise server and, could successfully send & recieve mails and make address lookup to the GAL.
It also recieved the IT policy but I dont know what policy settings it applied
When I tried the same package on my Qtek 9090 it was very sluggish and never connected, so the client abviously works very close with the radio stack!? If anyone has better results than me please let me know
Best regards
Thanks for the guidance. Got the cab. Now, here's the golden question. What does BB enabled account mean? If I have GRPS connectivity is that not enough? I am guessing in order to control pricing packages there may be certain ports used by BB that the carrier blocks and then when you pay the fees for BB enabled account they simply enable them. Is this the case? Thanks for your clarification.

Does this cab file install other applications other than the BB client? Coz I dont want to install any other app except the BB client on my XDAII since its an Asian ROM 1.66.
I worked my way through the guide doc for Exchange all the way up to :
6. Tap the Synchronization tab.
7. Select the Enable Wireless Synchronization check box.
This checkbox is grayed out on my device. Were you able to select this checkbox? Thanks

O2 MSFP ROM available today?

An O2 account manager told me that they expect to release the new ROM with MSFP and presumably A2DP / AKU2 today, no sign on the my-xda.com site yet though.
Tum te tum
Still no sign. Did this 'account manager' say this was definitely going in yesterday or around now?

can someone upload file to ftp?
I've just been to http://www.my-xda.com/xdaminis_soft3.html and the ROM isn't there - the launch ROM is the only one showing...?
Once you've entered the IMEI code it directs you to here
http://www.my-xda.com/downloads/Xda_Minis_Upgrade_v2.21.4.101.exe
But gives a file not found. Guess they're still updating the web pages.
can you give me imei for a mini s device, i will upload asap
Okay, I see they've not updated the page I clicked above, but if you go to the main page the links are there.
The 50Mb EXE file downloads as 4K though, so somebody clearly jumped the gun when updating the page.
I can only see the file : Launch ROM v 1.5.4.102 (49.0 MB) ??????
UPDATE : Downloading it now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
me too - the rom links are now live
Let us know how you get on.
I'll try it in the morning.
In Germany we have the problem, that o2 have never released a rom since some for the XDA I and II. No one for the III / Mini / Mini S. And i think this Rom won't be available in germany too.
O2 has a very bad update politic.
Contacted O2 with regards to Costs for using push email, and they inform me that its only the amount of GPRS data you use (Personal user not business).
But they include 1Mb free with every tariff and anything additional is £3 per Mb.
Is this the correct information ? Sometimes customer services do give out wrong information.
can someone post the direct link to the update as when i put in my imei number and phone number, the site just keeps resetting back to the start. i ported my number from orange so don't know if they recognise it as a o2 number.
http://xda.o2.co.uk/downloads/Xda_Minis_Upgrade_v2.21.4.101.exe
Is this rom that different to Qtek as I can see the radio etc is the same its just the extended rom that is newer, and that is prob just full of O2 crap that no-one needs.
But if I'm wrong let me know.
As everyone with a Wizard wants the best for their little pet!!!

Windows Mobile devices and UMA

Are there any clients available, or other hacks to let my devices hook up with the T-Mobile hot [email protected] service? Not so much a samsung fan... Thanks
I have the [email protected], and currently use this feature with a Nokia 6086 and a Blackberry Curve, both work well. It would be cool to have my Windows Mobile Phone (HTC Advantage) working on UMA as well. I've have many lengthy calls with TMobile about this, and even tested the HP Ipaq UMA phone on thier network. To no avail, TMobile has not been willing to provide details of setting up UMA on potentially compatible devices, and to date, I haven't seen any Windows Mobile devices that can work on the [email protected] The general consensus is that TMobile will release the succcesor to the Wing (once that model has sold out) with a Kineto UMA client built-in. But, if they do this, it is unlikely that other Windows Mobile devices will work, as TMobile would want their customers to purchase the new device. For the moment, I wish that TMobile would upgrade their data network to a higher speed. It's coming, but taking too long for my taste.
I believe that UMA might be hardware based but then again, what do i know?
Clarifications?
UMA and Windows Mobile Devices - [email protected]
I have an iPAQ 910c. This has WM 6.1. I too would like to get a WM 6.1 device to work on the [email protected] network.
I had inquired of Bernard Debbasch at Vitendo Systems, Inc. (an outfit that does the programming for this) about a mod to allow WM devices to use Unlicense Mobile Access to get to [email protected] services. Here is the thread:

Hello Ron,
Our company is focused on working with operators and their OEM. We do not
work directly with consumers or individual cellphones. FYI, the addition of
UMA on a cellphone is quite intrusive and cannot really be done as a
downloadable application.

I posted a similar question somewhere on xda. What exactly does he mean by intrusive? Seems like a vague reply. As is we aren't prepared to be very "intrusive" with our phones...
If UMA is a protocol I don't see why a bridge couldn't be written to disable the radio stack when the @Home is detected and enable the call through the Wi-Fi connection with the proper protocol in place. How would T-Mobile ever know?
Proprietary hardware sucks but it's the cheapest VoIP I've ever seen... outside of Skype and the like.

I just got the Tmo Shadow II, and the UMA thingy works very very well.
In fact I did not even activate the 9.99 plan for unlimited calls. It just worked (may be a bug with tmo so far) but I am not sure if tmo intends it that way.
I would not even mind if Tmo just used the minutes from my minute bucket, and the UMA is purely providing me extended coverage at work or elsewhere where cell signal is poor.
NOW all you SMART hackers.. I am willing to provide a dump from my phone for all you folks who want to give it a shot, "Make it work for rest of WM devices"

And intrusive to these kind of companies would be cooking a new ROM.
Any word on this? I really need to find a way to get this to work on my Titan WM 6.1 if at all possible. I work from home and cell coverage ends just down the road. I would just go ahead and get a TMobile phone but they don't have coverage in this area so if I did it would only be good at my house.
I am glad to read it here.

I am willing to dump the ROM guys.

so... now I broke down and got a new phone. A G-1. I still want [email protected] to work cuz I may just use the Seimens just for that if I could. I'll wait and see how the ROM dump info works out. If someone will read through pankul's wife's ROM.
htc-shadow II 2009 UMA-need your way to activate
It should work w/o using the minutes on UMA.
The WiFi connection works fine on my phone but uses the talk time minutes.
UMA-need your way to activate
I have the path with the following on my phone:
\Windows\UMA
PS
receivedSetting
rolling
savednet
UMAButtonPush
It does me do good to Hit the UMA icons, as they are only pieces w/o the actual application.
If you got a clu on what to do, please reply on share your dump in \Windows\UMA
uma - mmmm!
i spoke today to orange UK, and the adviser that i regularly speak to advised me that UMA is a network thing, and is added or part of a networks own rom, or can be added via an update from the said network.
its orange and vodafone's big thing in the UK.
most handsets that support are the Blackberry's and the nokia's
Straight from the lips of HTC via their tech support bods
Any device that uses WIFI can be made to use UMA software, it's down to the network provider to supply the software either within a ROM or as a patch. Or via a 3rd party to supply a download, then you just need the help to configure to network.
Once the software is on the device, it just needs the info from the network to allow you to configure it.
So all we really need is a 'generic' UMA client for WinMo that does the following?
- detect the nominated wireless network
- checks for access to the UMA servers at the provider
- connects to the above, and routes all previous GSM Traffic thru
the nice shiny UMA connection
- shuts off the GSM radio until such time that any of the above
are no longer available.
Not being a programmer, that seems awfully simple. If I were a programmer, it would probably most likely be MORE difficult.
As OrangeUK are now offering UMA for free (on supported handsets) I don't think it will be long until there is a WinMo UMA client.
Obviously the Android / Tmo G1 has it already - and it'll be hard-coded with Tmo's UMA servers. A little hackage should see you able to change the server to which it connects. A little hackage on your home network should let you find out what the server is too.
How does the billing side of it work? Initially my thought was by IMEI - so what if I borrow a friend's UMA phone, if it's by IMEI then he'd get the bills. Which would be nice, but a little impractical and unethical.
So the conclusion is that UMA *must* integrate somehow with the radio-stack of the device, which must be able to pass a unique identifier of the subscriber (i.e. USIM Serial) through UMA. This, too, could be open to hacking of the bad type - hard coding of USIM Serial into the UMA client etc. So further thought makes me now think that the UMA client and the radio-stack keep some form of 'constant contact' - I guess in a similar way to RSAP works over bluetooth.
These are just my thoughts. I don't even have a UMA phone. But I know I want one.
Update: On Orange UK - these are the 'entries' required.
UMA Protocol = UMA V 1.0.3 (this is defaulty any way)
Take tick out of use default UNC address (if there)
Enter UNC address 'unc.singlephone.orange.co.uk'
Provisioning UNC port '14001' think that's default anyway
Take tick out of box for use default provisioning SEGW Address
Enter SEGW address 'singlephone.orange.co.uk'
SEGW certificate select 'Equifax Secure Certificate Authority'
(this is all taken from a Blackberry forum, but gives the info needed.)

I don't know if you guys are still interested in the UMA for WIN MObile or not but I went into my htc-shadow II 2009 and explored the windows folder, while it was connected to my pc and I found a UMA service cab file in there. So I was wondering if we could use that cab to install the UMA on windows mobile phones that doesn't have the UMA feature already installed. I attached the UMA cab below that hopefully someone will be able to try on their win mo phone and post a result back on here, I am curious to find it out since I am wanting to ditch my Shadow 2009 for a different win mo phone. If any additonal files are needed let me know, and I will try to help.
**Edit** I added some more UMA files that are in the UMA .zip those go in the windows folder

Yeah, same here. It's because the Shadow is a WinMo Standard (no touch screen) device.
I don't see any indication that it's connected to UMA on the HD2.
I'm pretty sure UMA requires hardware support, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Did you get it to work?
Good info (but bad news)
I hope someone can make this work, but I'm pretty sure it will be nearly impossible without specialized hardware. This article goes into pretty good detail about what is involved in making UMA work. "Because a UMA client is embedded into the baseband of the device and requires a modification to the GSM protocol stack, users cannot download a UMA client". In other words, it sounds like even if you do manage to properly setup the software to receive the GSM packets, encapsulate them with IPsec and send them over wifi, you still need a special radio chip that will redirect the GSM packets to your software.

First place, here in Portugal we don´t have untill now the marketplace and Xbox games, we need to creat an hotmail with adress in california to be able this features.
Then change all contacts to this new email and put it in windows live account on Trophy, and finally, we pick up the activation code that microsoft send us and activate the Windows live ID correcly.
