The usb message your seeing means it is connected by usb. You should be able to continue. Not sure activesync recognises magldr.

Im sorry if im wrong but ofcourse your phone wont get regonized by active sync anymore because you took off windows mobile from your phone when you installed nand. Just be paitence when u connect your phone to your computer and it will deffently get regonized and you will be ready to flash new roms.

When you see this usb...usb you are connected.
Now right click daf.exe or android inastaller.exe or whatever the name and choose "run as administrator" and the install should start
read the second link in my signature
It says it is connected but when I run as admin it says usb init failure. What do I do then?

I saw a few posts about this problem. The fix is to reflash HSPL and load Magldr again.

Not able to make a usb connection to the phone when in Magldr
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
Go to the Activesync icon in the bottom right corner, right click on it and untick the option "Allow usb connections" and then connect the device again. Run daf.exe (or install.exe) as administrator by right clicking on it and selecting the option (if using Windows7 or Vista). Hopefully the usb drivers will then install and the Android Rom will flash.
Another option could be to uninstall and reinstall Activesync or to try different usb ports on your pc. If that doesnt work and you have Windows XP then you need to try on a machine with Vista or Windows 7.
If none of this works then try taking out your micro SD Card and repeating the process or flash a Custom Rom before you flash Magldr rather than a Stock Rom.
Lastly you could try starting the NAND installer with the phone unplugged and then plugged the phone in. The installer should immediately detect your device and proceed to flash.

[Q] Problem while flashing Nand Android on HD2---won't reboot after Go Go Go! screen

So i used this *thread* to flash the android Nand on my HD2 and i followed all the steps, and then i ended up with a screen as below
123456
GO GO GO!
Typically it is supposed to reboot and go to the Android screen. But it didn't and now it is stuck. I tried hard resetting with power and volume button but no luck and infact none of the buttons work. Even i took the battery out but it comes back to the same screen.
So how do i go back to the WIN 6.5 now. PLzzz somebody help me. I'm sure somebody must have same problem coz i saw in some post that couple of people had the same problem.
PLZ help!!
dude, to go to magldr menu hold end key while booting, and to get to the bootloader to be able to flash a winmo rom, just hold volume down key while booting.
GOGOGO! issue was solved on magldr 1.11, do you have magldr 1.11? If you don't just flash it when you're on bootloader (rainbow screen).
ok. i downloaded the V1.11. But i don't see the tricolor thing. all i see is the Boot Menu with 10 options on it. and when i tried to flash it the connection was unsuccessful. My PC won't connect to the phone then how would i flash it??

Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed

I get it once i connect usb cable to usb flasher (it says usb is connected) and launch daf.exe and press 2 times next till it starts checking if phone is connected. Any suggestions how to solve it? Please, help me
May be just reconnect USB cable.
But first make sure that in PC's device manager You have uncheck Save energy option ( it lets to turn off USB port for energy savings)

You get that error if you don't run DFT as administrator. Right click on the file, run as administrator.

[Q] Install magldr 1.13 with 1.11

Hey people
i have magldr 1.11 installed now i want to put in 1.13 but i cant do that
i have win7 on my PC and when i try to install 1.13 i only have de tricolor screen and cant update
i turn off the phone and press -vol and power on and only boot tricolor screen
can anbody help me?
tks
you need to describe the problem better.
You can flash magldr from bootloader, so long as you have hspl, but I can't tell from your question whether you have tried yet.
Put phone into bootloader, connect to usb.
What spl does it say?
does it say usb at bottom of screen? if no, have you plugged the usb cable in?
when you run the magldr romupdateutility does it giove an error? is it a timeout error or a different error?
are you trying to do it through a front panel USB port? or a usb hub? if so (and try this anyway) when it times out, just run it again, if it times out again, then change ports and run it again,
i have magldr 1.11 and dft version of 30 dec
to install magldr what i have to do?

ok let's try to be more clear on this.
first, have you done the HSPL? Following that, did you put magldr 1.11 on there? now if you can answer yes to both these questions, the steps are easy.
1. press -vol and power until you get the tri-colored screen. in there, you should see hspl 2.08 with cotulla in the upper portion.
2. if so, then you plug in the USB cord and you will see "serial" change to "USB" (assuming of course you have activsync installed and waiting on a connection)
3. when it links up, then you run magldr1.13 installer... once successful, the phone should reboot.
simple as that
done.
thanks now i have 1.13 but now how i install another version of nand android?
when i boot up with vol- and power only shows tricolor screen
first you need flash cwr 1.3 ,for that you need reboot your phone to magldr via hold power button until magldr menu upears. After that select usb flasher via vol down and green button (call button) confirm. And after that you can flash anything nand android by usb flasher in magldr or cwr.
when i reboot phone it goes to magldr booter without choice it goes for my actual version cant choose anything
You must hold power button untill menu apears!
magldr 1.11 to 1.13
I'm trying to update from magldr 1.11 to 1.13 but every time I run the ROM update utility I get "Error [260]: Connection" & "the Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA phone." I have the tri-color bootloader screen, as well as USB on it. I'm already running a NAND Froyo build, just trying to switch to Gingerbread. I've tried searching this forum & the web for help without any success. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

comp is probably using teh wrong drivers.
first off, try a different usb port, one you havent useed before for that phone. if taht doesnt help, go into device manager when usb is connected, find he device (probably called mobile device or something) right click, choose uninstal, then reboot, reconnect the phone, see if it helps.

Killed my HD2

Hi all
Newbie. And new to Phone Updates etc.....
Have HTC HD2 on O2. Was attempting to put NAND on it, followed the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11215136&postcount=8
All steps conpleted successfully, but after "Step C: Install MAGLDR"
The MAGLDR113 Rom updated the phone successfully, then it rebooted and is now stuck the O2 screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
what rom did you flash after you installed magldr?
try to flash magldr again
u got hspl 2.08 ?
Do you have the correct radio (2.15.50.14) ?
have you tried pressing the power button on booting?
Flash again winmo 6,5. After that flash HSPl 3.0. Flash radio 2.15.50. In boot screen ( hold power button and volume down) Flasyh Magldr.
I would say invisiblebm is right - reflashing again should help - cause as long as your reacts when you push the power button it is not dead
Hi all. Thanks for info.
Current state is that the phone is frozen at 02 welcome screen. Nothing happens when soft or hard boot.
When you boot holding down arrow I get
PB8110 SS-BC
SPL-3.03.hspl XE
0x05
cotullaHSPL 0x50
Unable to reflash, as the phone doesnt showup to the pc on usb, though the white part of the 4 colours RED/GREEN/BLUE/WHITE does change from serial to USB when you connect to the PC.
Phone shows up as a device "qualcomm cdma technologies MSM"
Is there anything more I can do save for sending back to O2.
Was at version o SPL 1.66.0000
I choose 3.03HSPL
Leo 2.15.50.14.rar contents - Via CustomRUU
The MAGLDR113 113 from the XDA Dev Site
Completed successfully, then rebooted, but didnt come up.
cheers
John
Even thought there is no apparent phone connection, it still connects if it switches from serial to USB. I had the same problem. Mine also said qualcomm techs. But when i reflashed MAGLDR using DAF.exe, it worked fine.
Can you post the link to the downlaod please
Just put the phone in bootloader, connect USB, when says "USB" on bottom of phone screen, its ready for flashing. Ignore the fact the PC doesn't seem to connect, the phrase "get an activesync connection" in the various tutorials is a pain in the arse, (even though it is technically correct.)
Anyway, magldr won't start cos you have the wrong hspl. As you already know because it says so in post 1 of the magldr thread, which you DID read, right? It says magldr will only work with 2.08.hspl, , , you have 3.03.hspl.
Enter bootloader, connect USB, run hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl and reboot, magldr should start.
So what I understud is , that the phone is not connecting to the PC. Try this:
Restart you PC, Go in to bootloader and try again, In most of the cases is some conection error between the devices. It hapen to me many times.
Thanks. Missed the SPL-3.03, rushing to do it. Its now on 2.08 and the loader comes up. Just the flash to do next. cheers
lesson of the day?
Always read the instructions 10 times
very very very true
Thanks to all fro your help btw, since running Nand, and now Gingerbread 2.3.

CHEERS, you were a life saver.

I know i should not cross post but desperate now !

I decided to go from Android to try wm7 mango and have messed up big time i think.I am at the moment on the tri colour screen and stuck a serial even though the usb is connected so i cant do a task 29 or anything else.I was on hpsl 2.08 to run android.I have tried to go back to win 6.5 via the memory card method which has put spl 1.66 back on but failed with the update. On the tri colour screen the message is "Upgrade rom code error please try again"
I am totally stuck at what to do next just to get my phone to boot into anything.I need to get the tri colur screen to show usb somehow so i can fix this mess i have just done.
I also get a 0028002 not allow msg when i try to boot a original 6.5 Rom via the mem card if that helps matters
Any ideas and thanks
Assuming you tried different usb ports and cables, try searching for hd2_drivers_ksubedi. It has pretty much all the drivers you need to connect via USB - chances are that something got changed on your PC somewhere and it can't connect over USB.
Alternatively, the fast way of doing it is to download HD2 Toolkit, hit the "Download Drivers" link, follow the install instructions. Then when in tricolor screen it should be picked up. If not, remove in Device Manager and get it to reinstall the new drivers when it recognises it.
From there a Task 29 should be pretty easy...
