This might be a simply one all being well, but if someone mails me and attachs a JPG file I try and view it but it won't let me, do I need a utility to be able to do this?

It should automatically open the pictures and videos application - at least it does on mine.
Perhaps the file association has been removed - think an app like resco explorer or total commander can restore it.

..thanks matt. I'm using Blackberry Connect so I was wondering if that was causing the problem, but I'll take a look at those apps you've mentioned.

I seem to be able to view the Microsoft attachements, it just doesnt seem to like jpgs. I'm still finding my feet with the device though to be honest, the Blackberry Connect software seems simple enough.
...one problem that is annoying is that I cant surf the Web using Internet Explorer. Our providor says its because we're on a Blackberry Tariff and 02 don't give you web access with that. If I try and go to a site on the device it fails to connect.
Hi!
Does anyone know where the settings for the above are stored on the Desktop PC? My sync keeps failing with a calendar entry that does not exist - either on my desktop pc )I use Outlook2007) or phone! WTF?
Regards,
Alan
Try compacting your outlook data files. (google it, not sure of the exact key presses)
Could also try archiving old stuff.

Oh well....
Ok guys I know this may have a simple answer but I haven't been able to pinpoint it.
In Accounts & Sync under my Gmail account there is the option to sync Google Docs, ok , where do they sync to? I have looked all through my SD card and system folders with Root Explorer and haven't been able to find it...
Thanks ahead for any input from all of you...
there is a google docs app u have to install
It must be a temp folder as those documents are not stored in the phone
Well I do have Docs installed but if it's syncing then it must be putting the files somewhere to make them readily accessible....
But I may be wrong

Hey thanks jhotmann.... I sent you a thanks too...
Ok I hadn´t gotten as far as that folder. Aight I saw in there a database list that I opened with SQLite and it has all the names of everything I had in google docs, so am I to assume that it doesn't physically download anything, just keeps a list of what is there and keeps up with changes in those documents?

I dont know of any app that actually keeps a full copy of all the google docs in the phone.
However my solution is use ( kind of limited but... )
1. syncdocs.com to sync google docs file to PC and
2. use missingsync to sync folder in PC with my sd card.
The result is anyfile that i edit in phone gets synced to google docs and vice verssa.
Hi, I would love to have an app similiar to colornote which saves the notes into a .txt file so that I can easily sync it with "FolderSync" (or smiliar) via my own server and simply open the .txt file on my computer. Is there anything like that? :S
Maybe a simple notepad would do it as well ?
Thanks
You really could have googled this... or just searched the market.
Even dropbox saves ".txt" files.
I need an app on android which will let me edit .txt files.. which are saved on the SD-Card.
And **** dropbox. I want to sync the files on my own server. Preferable as soon as the file changes. Maybe FolderSync will do the syncing job. Still I need an note-taking app. ColorNote would be awesome but it doesn't save the notes on the sd-card?

Hi all,
I use my rooted NST most for read content I catch on Web, like blog entries, articles, etc. Currently I find the content, generate a .epub with caliber or through services like EbookGlue, upload them to my dropbox account and later, on my device, I open dropbox client, download the .epub file to the My Files directory on my SD and finally I read it.
I am looking for a way to automatic sync these dropbox files to my library, as soon as I turn on WiFi connection.
Does any one know if there's a way to do it? Or some similar aproach to do it?
Thanks in advance!

Try dropsync, it autosyncs selected dropbox folders.
Oh, thanks! I didn't knew about dropsync. I'll try it as soon as go home today and post the results!
I just keep directories on my desktop filled with books and documentation.
I sync with adbsync: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1898358
I use it on my cell phone(s) and Nook(s).
